hobermener:Now that he's gallivanting with APC people, nobody will question his source of wealth. If he was with PDP people now you will hear accusations like oil bunkering, Ibori's boy, militant, etc. In Nigeria it is all about partisanship. Truth has no place. |

Sad thing is Southern leaders will secretly go and beg the Northerners. Because Southern leaders need Northerners for political relevance. To preserve personal interest at national level and secure own share of national cake. |
GMbuharii:It is a viper like the puff adder (Bitis arietans), but this is West African Gaboon viper (Bitis rhinoceros). The adder varies in colour brownness depending on camouflage need (being so widespread across Africa except thick rain forest & dry desert of Sahara) but Gaboon viper always has bold light/white patterns on the coat. Let somebody else correct me like I'm correcting you now. ![]() |
sod09:That is not a constrictor o. Don't be careless when killing it thinking it is a non-poisonous constrictor. It is a deadly Viper. West African Gaboon Viper (Bitis rhinoceros) to be precise. Closely related to East African Gaboon viper (Bitis gabonica). One of the most poisonous viperid and most poisonous snakes known. Do not be deceived by the python/boa similar coat pattern. See the square like draft pattern on it. Not same as constrictors. Mature ones may also have rhinocerolike projections near tip of the head. Top of the head is usually white/very light grey. A very aggressive snake indeed. |
loomer:But to enjoy ur stay there, better go young to pay tax and get entitlements as a pensioner. Or go there with plenty money to retire. Otherwise not that easy. |
loomer:For inside serious cold with old bones? Not even US where some parts are warm a bit. |
Such a bill was long overdue. Very good move. If Our Obas, Obis & emirs have to push state assemblies & NASS to pass people-orientated bills, they should please do. Edo state should set up the task force to enforce it quick. |
Pity how everything has nosedived in this country. But politics and tribalism will not make people say the truth. So we just country like Israelites in the wilderness. But something got to give some day. No doubt about that. It always does. It could be Yemen, Syria, Somalia & Afghanistan combined in scale. We'r sticking our head in the sand like ostriches at the moment. Unwilling to face to face the uncomfortable truth. Instead trooping to churches & mosques in desperate need of balm & comfort. |
alexialin:You did not understand op fully. OP explained further on the thread. I think you read OP's first post and commented. I read through the thread for her further posts answering questions raised before I commented. OP was the one who told her MIL that there were cheap plots of land for sale and invited her MIL to come along. So why would she think of her MIL snooping? We do not know how her SILs and BILs would react if they knew OP played a role in land matter that concerns all her inlaws. We do not know their family dynamics. |

Hahahaha. Na Alabukun crew. ![]() |
alexialin:Dude you jumped to conclusion too soon. OP has no beef about MIL going. The land decision involves the MIL, her hubby and MIL's other children. OP felt it was inappropriate for her to be involved in land matter involving the entire family. Since whatever becomes her hubby's at the end will also be hers. If anything she showed too much respect/courtesy towards her inlaws. Remember also that since she herself might not be contributing financially (depending on family dynamics), she might have little or no say anyway. Her hubby's main grouse was that OP discussed going to see the land with MIL without discussing it with him first. It rather shows that OP has a good enough rapport to feel free discussing land with MIL. Even if the usual MIL-DIL tension might be there hibernating. If hubby badly needed OP to come along, all he needed to do was convince her. After all he managed to woo her and got her to marry him. |
He will say he meant 6 weeks from that press conference, not from closure of the airport. ![]() Nor be 9ja we dey? Except he has already lined up another lucrative international job at UN, OPEC, Commonwealth, World Bank, etc. |
youngest85:You better watch Emmanuella's/Mark Angel's video clip on apes. ![]() |
AngelicBeing: ![]() Let us be realistic. You know that if GEJ had stolen like IBB, Abacha or OBJ, they would have nailed him by now big time. Because he has NO influential Obas/Emirs, retired generals or a large tribe (for political/election calculations) behind him. All of them steal/stole. But most former state governors are far wealthier than Jonathan today. Even most of Jonathan's ministers would have made more money from his govt in office. It is nothing new in Negeria. Okotie-Eboh made lots of money from Tafawa Balewa's govt in the first Republic. Umaru Dikko & Akinloye made quite good money from Shagari's/NPN govt. Same in Ghana. Rawlings once famously refused to enter the house his ex-minister built while in his govt. Rawlings arrived at a party in the ex-minister's house. He was shocked to see the mansion knowing how much the minister's salary was and that he had no other business. At least a dozen Ghanaians have confirmed this. |
We know Saraki is not an innocent choir boy, but they are pursuing him relentlessly for political reasons. A proverb says that if your seek to kill your enemy with too much recklessness & over-zealousness, you will die before him. Now in trying to nail Saraki by all means, we now find out that Wale Tinubu of Oando is parading fake custom papers. ![]() The irony cannot be lost on anyone. |
AngelicBeing:When it comes to corruption and 9ja, it is like expecting someone to swim in the atlantic Ocean and not be soaked in water. How will that happen? But at least she had the courage to face up to some House of Rep members openly/on live TV, and accuse them of demanding bribe from her right inside NASS. |
Good. But I always found that Arunmah bae pretty. Even with a little grey hair. |
eshietIntrepid:In places where things work, an oath is a very serious legal thing. Like an affidavit. Lying under oath bags you a decent jail term. A robber without violence or use of weapon might spend lesser time in jail. Than one who commits perjury (lying under oath). |
BlueRayDick:Let us not condemn too quick because our own belief or position is not being confirmed. There would have been a graduation ceremony on or after 2000. Does nobody have that year's graduation list for the year? Some people still have theirs from 15 or 25 years back. Is his name on it? No video of the ceremony? Course/graduation mates? Has anyone seen a pic of the NYSC discharge certificate allegedly said to have been before graduation (2000) already in 1999? we know we have lots of crooks in the system but there are still many possible avenues to confirm or rubbish it. |
this is because change is the only constant. The change can be postive or negative. Compare Bubu & GEJ govt for example. ![]() Before marriage, people might be in their best behaviour to get hooked. Just like people were make up to cover unattractive blemishes, people do package themselves to be more attractive than they are. A future wife beater can appear like a knight in shiny armour, some inflate their salaries to be seen as successful, etc. A woman with thedirtiest attributes of tatafo/backbiting, jealousy, laziness and allergy to in-laws, can feign near perfection when courting. When the kids finally come and life becomes a grinding routine, it can all change quickly. |
![]() Everything is packaging these days. The more you look the less you see. Broadly covered. |
Caseless:But of course they would have looked for her na. Like searching, asking family/friends, reporting to the police, checking hospitals, mortuaries, etc. Who would not look for a missing mother with young kids? Remember no access to social media like we do now. Things were VERY different. But police should have investigated the circumstances at home/surrounding buying the form? Was she going to buy defying hubby/in-laws if married? And so on. |
Nairalanders nor go kee pessin with laugh hia. ![]() It depends on the meaning we read to things as individuals. We easily "seshualize" things these days. Way back it wasn't so. A boy of that age would see relatives (sisters, aunties, mother) UNclad and would mean nothing. You would sleep in same bed with female cousins and nobody would bat an eye. But life is much more complex now. Outrage & suspicion are now the norm. |
Bsmartt:I think the issue is partly logistics. Since our local leagues are weak, African players are scattered across Europe. Most within 2 or 3 hours of flight to London. Most European club managers might not easily release players to travel far for a friendly game. Although managers must release them by FIFA rules but African players know the career implications of defying them anyhow. We should strengthen African football leagues so that more players remain at home. But with most Africans (including some Obas, top politicians) supporting Man U, Chelsea, Barca, Arsenal, Man City, Real, Bayern Munich, PSG instead of Eyimba, Shooting Stars, Rangers, Mighty Jet, Wolves, Insurance, how will that happen? |
henrydadon:Ol' boy forget that thing. Even Bubu has long given up on anything working in 9ja. The dude spent 50 days treating anaemia in London. Most only corner the privileges they can get. Nor mind all their patriotic yarn. If you have the means go & have your kids in "Amelika" and secure kpali for them. Because 30 years from now, we will still be queuing for visas at various embassies. Only this time including South Sudan, Yemen, Somalia & Afghanistan embassies. ![]() |
This happened way back. The teenage girls were shop assistants in two neighboring shops. The two former friends (FF) were looking each other with "evil" eye and the following conversation ensued: FF1: Why are you continue looking me? FF2: Me? Looking you? You cannot even speaking English. FF1: Yes, Looking me. Teach me English na, oversabi. FF2: Is not eyes you use continue looking at me first? FF1: Me? I don't even saw if you're dead or "alife"? Both hissed and had a long look at each with "evil" eye. ![]() |
9jakohai:Whatever the case, the doctor was the first to have the opportunity to try his best. Having no equipment is no reason not to try. He should not be practising medicine in 9ja if he can only help with ultra-modern facility. He knew the abysmal state of healthcare facility & poor maintenance culture 9ja. But still pledged to serve mankind. Here in Europe, robotic surgery like Galileo is used for prostate surgery in some units. It doesn't mean those without it cannot do same operation. People die from same condition (cardiac arrest frequently even in the best equipped units in the West. But there is a certain satisfaction that one did one's best. After all the exhausting CPR, panting from chest compression and all. But you know that on a different day, with a bit more luck, he might have lived. And that some will survive in the future if one keeps doing one's best. NMA ought to partner with ministry of health to educate the masses about heart attack, stroke, diabetic emergency and other common modern conditions. Or go out of their way to enlighten people. I guess there is nothing like Federal Heart Foundation (I may be wrong though). What are all the money bags doing with their money? No putting back into society's health? |
madridguy:Well we know the chances of surviving it are low, but if anyone has a chance, it would be an otherwise fit young guy like Ab. Like the football player Muamba a few years ago. Aside a surgery in process and few other conditions, the corper should have been the doctor's priority. Not being begged for 40 minutes by a pastor first to lift a finger. |
Shafiiimran99:My brother, we can bring conspiracy theories all we like. No evidence that the mostly Saudi 22 were not involved. Show us your evidence if you have any. |
Shafiiimran99:Well, simple on the surface but more complex in reality. Being an ally of America for example is enough to be considered and enemy. Even if not involved in military operations alongside America or Israel. Being an infidel now largely qualifies as being an enemy in many places. What I heard from even Western bred people of your faith frightened me. Young, educated and largely privileged and preparing for what many would consider a great professional career. Just weeks after 911. If those normal role model people uttered such opinions, then the tacit and quiet nod of approval is rather widespread. And I have heard similar stuff many times. I appreciate your contribution though. I hope those who need to re-orientate themselves will listen. |
