bettercreature:Any business you cannot run personally has more than 90% chance of failing in 9ja. Many of us have such bad experiences. People do not value money that is not from their own sweat. Plus everybody wants to be smart & embezzle mercilessly. They want quick money. They forget that your investment created jobs for them. Being "good friends" or family members make no difference. It is a nightmare really. |
Nothing new here. We knew it all along. The purpose was never to convict people. They have no evidence against most people. It was to Harass, hound, weaken and subjugate political opponents and perceived enemies. |
mysticwarrior:Do not forget Amunike. He nearly with his goal got us past Italy in round of 16 in USA '94. Less than 3 minutes to go. A better defence would have seen us through. Had he not been taken out earlier due to injury, he would have troubled Italy and keep them on the defensive. He was good enough that he was signed by Barcelona then. |
3kay945:Now you are talking. It was an opportunistic multiple konjinistic straffology. ![]() A less greedy guy would have called for re-enforcement. ![]() |
Funny people. When will an ordinary honest guy get a chance? If he borrows right from election form fee, why won't he/she be corrupt when in office? Our elites have designed political power for the elite only. |
thorpido:Lol. Very funny place, this 9ja. I have seen both blue eyes & green eyes in 9ja. Nothing new. We have many dormant traits in us that never show in phenotype. Anyhow if not linked with Wardenburg syndrome that occurs in 1 out of about 40,000 to 42,000 people, no biggie. If Waardenburg syndrome related, paediatricians would have noticed the sensorineural (hearing problems) by now. It results from abnormalities in the neural crest cells when still just an embryo. These cells later contribute to skin pigment cells, cartilage of face & brain, bone, digestive tract neurons, neurons situated without spinal cord/brain, etc. Other blue eyes are just from mutation in the OCA2/P protein gene involved in pigment control/formation. It is also involved in albinism. Genetics/mutation aside, all humans migrated from Africa. Among them the ancestors of blue-eyed Europeans, Arabs and others of today. Why is it impossible that they took their blue eyes from Africa? If they did, why is it impossible that original blue eyes are still lying dormant in many of us Africans of today? |
amokeme:How could they not have noticed your menorrhagia from history and/or examination? Or not link it to your severe anaemia if it has been a frequent occurrence over time? Although that you had menorrhagia does not mean that malaria and typhoid couldn't have been present too. Also remember that menorrhagia sometimes might not influence PCV. Because it might not have been long enough to affect PCV. Like cutting yourself and losing lots of blood would not affect PCV right away. In simple terms, you lost some blood volume, the blood that remains inside you has not been diluted yet to lower your PCV. Since they checked your PCV, I'd believe they checked it for malaria parasites too. They might have suspected that the severity of your anaemia could have multiple causes. Once it is clear that you do not have sickle cell and you are not otherwise malnourished. In the tropics, malaria is one of the most common causes. It is common things first. Though it might seem simple or repetitive from the patient's experience/perspective. Pity that many healthcare professionals are said to be unfriendly in 9ja. If not, they should be explaining their procedures, tests, results, diagnoses and treatment plan to patients clearly. But then workers in most sectors are unfriendly:civil servants, police, armed forces, some bankers, barbers, even roadside sellers. All frequently show attitude. Not knowing what is going on would make patients think they might be getting the wrong or unnecessary treatment. |
Buy 9ja to grow the Naira. Never mind those treating anaemia in "Rondon". ![]() |
delishpot:But the headline is wrong. It suggests that the girls are non-identical twins. If correct as you deduced (most likely correct) from the write-up, they should not be called twin sisters as the headline puts it. |
Na wao. In this recession? |
Good. But some of these politicians cannot be trusted. Good that her hubby trusts her. Hope we will not hear other stories from bloggers o. |
AGgal:And me here to read what they are saying about banging bangers. ![]() |
We are sleepwalking into disaster. Those who prevent an orderly restructuring are inevitably promoting a messy implosion. Swathes of the North will be taken over by religious fanatics in the mold of AQIM, Daesh & Boko Haram. Libya, Yemen, Syria & Afghanistan will be a mere picnic compared to Nigeria's case. Scary but feasible. We already had Biafra war that cost about 2 million lives, around 3.5% of Nigerian population of about 53 million then. |
Another religious division. Some say couples of different church denominations should not marry, so a Christian should not marry a Muslim in his/her wildest dreams? If people think like this, why do different tribes even live together in one country?? Our knack to cause division along every possible line is sickening. How did we even get here? |
juman:I wanted Fashola and Ribadu or El-Rufai combination. Given that possibility, Ribadu would have remained with APC. No serious country in this world would have refused to push Fashola into Aso Rock. Irrespective of tribe or religion. Any serious football team plays with their first eleven. No wonder we are where we are today. |
juman:APC was never going to have it easy. Their promises were too vague. Making people to believe they could change things across the board positively. They spent too much effort on demonising GEJ govt. That is how they won anyway. But problem is if you raise expectations too much, failure is guaranteed. APC prepared for a parallel govt to undermine GEJ 's second term believing GEJ will rig to win. They never prepared for actually governing. Now the masses have to suffer the consequences of gullibility. Nigeria's ruling parties have not done great since 1999. Even if oil was $120 a barrel I do not think current FG would have done anything spectacular. Because the downward trend of oil price already began before the campaign. That should have been used to tailor election manifesto. |
juman:You are right. Enough blame to go round. Even we the followers must take a share of it. If we were determined enough, we could not be cowered by the few at the top calling the shots, not minding how the masses are groaning. |
jullty: ![]() Funny but interesting theory. Sule body double, bah? And Stephanie didn't notice the voice difference? Surely she'd be watching his preaching on TV, even if only after the liaison (if ever there was one) started. We cannot say what the truth is right now, but sure one person is lying. In the matter of love, it's hard to know who's fibbing. The "honourable" wife of Portiphar lied against Joseph. The blessed King David took another man's wife, getting her hubby killed at war. If a common person (who was not a prophet) had asked King David, he would probably have denied it to save face. |
Madam Bukky did what most average Nigerian mums would do. They would want to avert the "wrath of God" that the MOG could bring on their daughter. You can be sure most people she knew would have urged her to go and beg. Lots of Nigerians believe that MOGs speak to God directly & are so spiritually powerful. Do not try to argue that point with them. You can never win. It will take around 50 to 100 years for us to see beyond our current religiosity. That is only if we gradually get richer as a nation. If poverty should persist, religiosity will even increase. Because the poor will keep seeking miracles and the few rich ones will keep being afraid of falling back into the poverty and penury they see around them. |
juman:I think to be honest, poverty (if that is what you mean) has more to do with the political elites' failure than the King's. He can of course encourage/urge the politicians to do more/better, but not much else really. The new Oba of Benin basically pushed State house of Assembly to outlaw Omoniles' shenanigans. I guess other kings maybe doing their own little stuff like that. Sadly , life has got worse for many Nigerians, not just in Oyo. Overall, life/the world is changing and some kings are trying to re-invent their roles in this new atmosphere. Finding the balance between tradition & modernity will need experimentation. |
Alaafin dey sabi flex o. Even at his age. Obas nver used to be so "flexical" in those days. A certain mystic was preserved. We are heading towards modern "selfie Obaship". If people really want to see their Oba often, it might be a good thing. Because Obaship itself is naturally a conservative & traditional institution, it is anyone's guess how all will pan out with time. But I believe princes & princesses could take up more of the social outings/functions. On behalf of the (any) Kingdom. While Obas focus more on matters that are more important to their people's development, tradition & culture. |
Na wa. It appears we have a high level of tolerance for fraud. Some are hailing her as intelligent. Is it this type of woman you will make a Councillor, LGA chairman, SHoS member or NASS member that will not defraud the commonwealth? Or employ as an accountant or cashier and not make your money grow wings? EFFC should be looking for this lady. Or is it only when yahoo yahoo people dupe/love-scam American ladies that it is fraud? |
Nma27:I think say na only me o. That reply is no biggie. In this time of online fraud any reasonable person will understand the guy's concern. In fact the VC should commend him for his caution. |
Funny as poo. Oga "nawyer" likes twerking backsides. Ojigbijigbi. ![]() |
thehedge:There ought to be an independent Police complaints board (call it IPCB if you like) that automatically receives any complaints against the police. When abuse is reported to the police. IPCB should also be able to receive complaints directly from the public and people/lawyers acting on behalf of complainants. PCB should lead any investigation against the police. But in 9ja we do not really intend to make things work. |
AllHailBiafra:Abeg I prefer your Jennifer. ![]() |
Eke40seven:There are more bobos circulating in 9ja than truth. No even mention politics. More people get their news from beer pparlour, Iya Biliki bukateria, Baba Onikeke shop and such areas than NTA, Channels TV, BBC, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, Vanguard, Punch or any official sources. |
Clever dogs. |
CollinsWeGlobe:So you just chop belleful this evening and dey use hand find wahala. ![]() Give belle for this recession? Try Dencia sha. At least you nor go need to buy her make up. |

aribisala0:And Seat. But still, most only came under one roof later, as you mentioned. The reputation or rather perception from the past is hard to shake off. Sure, most countries now have minimum safety standards cars must attain to be allowed on the roads. But only very few bother about details of safety test results. |
