Towncrier247:Kenya na wa these days o. ![]() |
Kenya again?? Hmmmmm. |
KnowAll:He was double promoted from Lt. Col to Brigadier. Danjuma & some others were senior to Shehu then. Remember even if you have two Lt. Colonels, one could be senior if he was made Lt Col first. While assuaging Northern angst, it also ruined military ethos of seniority. That a junior could be put ahead to suit Northern/religious interest. It was a downward spiral from there. A Christian, J. T. Useni who was senior in military but junior in army politics was overlooked & Abdusalam made head of state. |
nzemila:After they lost, how is Nigeria faring today? Any light or jobs under a new party? Is it just about ruling or performance to benefit the masses? Can you honestly say this govt has made life better for the masses than the last? Until we generally begin fighting for justice and truth as citizens, the elite with continue to make politics do or die. Because they can act with impunity with our support (silence, active support, inaction, tolerating their shenanigans, etc). Is it normal to not have any certificate when looking for a job in the MDAs or private sector? We should for once forget about about political affiliation and put Nigeria first. If so many top political candidates cannot even take good care of their precious personal documents or endeavour to acquire attested replacements or confirmed copies from their old schools over many decades, are they the ones to take over the affairs of a complex nation/states and do well, irrespective of political party? |
Coming to see a president & could not even dress properly. Na wa o. This is not about Oyinbo no care. people going to see Queen Elizabeth, the prime minister, Obama, Hollande and others dress decently. A simple trouser & shirt can be worn even in African heat. |
True. Most APC elite too. But what is APC without lies & hypocrisy? Like jollof rice without rice. ![]() |
Standing5:When you consider that some BBOG brigade that help bring down GEJ's govt are now eating yanfuyanfu with sumptuous appointment under Buhari's govt, any idiot and his dog can see that now. But they will soon brand this victim's mum as "Ipob yoot & PDP wailer". |

What if the guy has a shop called SHEVRON Holdings (West Africa) LTD? And sells cooking oil there. Nor be still oil company? ![]() Women with their wahala. |
Most women love to be dominated. Even so-called feminists. When things go wrong, they are the first to shout "do something, you're the man here!" Most women want everything: be dominant, be romantic, be adventurous, be economically buoyant, be caring, have time for them, be able to read their thoughts, blow their mind, surprise them now & again, etc. Bad news for babes is that even if the Chinese could make a guy to specs, they would fail making one with all the things girls want. ![]() That is why all the marriageable guys seem married already. Not so. Just that some babes realised the folly of wanting everything soon enough and married half-way decent guys. And built their homes from there. So the frequent heartbreaks continue for those seeking everything in a man. ![]() |
pippimp:Hehehehe. You are very assuming. Look, 9ja society has too much ills than a country of its resources, human & natural should have. Most of us agree on that. In America, people do take a drive or a walk and get gunned down by gangs or even by the police. From behind sometimes. Some Nigerian kids have been stabbed to death in UK too. There are ills everywhere. The difference is only about the magnitude. For me, the kids visiting home includes going to their ancestral villages. An experience they have cherished each time to my surprise. About the age of 5 when kids return from school and start talking funny things about wars, hunger & Aids/disease in Africa as told in school, is the time to head to Africa at the latest. My approach that has been positive thus far at least. They have thoroughly enjoyed freedom to play around. The insects & noise of gen they complained about. But have not dented their positive disposition. It is them now pestering to go visit grandparents & other relatives yearly. Now, I know some who delayed taking kids home till they were between 16 & 18. Most just went there sulking, just waiting for it to be over and return. That might be already too late for some. A few still liked it though even at that age. I have been telling a relative to quickly take her 8 year old kid home. He already has an unhealthy view of Africa. Something common to the West. The kids are always proud to dress in African attire to school & church (protestant/oyinbo church) when celebrating Africa or black people. You make your bed the way you want to lie on it. Raising kids is similar. |
It is simply systemic/societal failure. Not patronising local produce is just another symptom. If the system was decent, authorities would regulate & properly police quality standards and that would restore confidence. A working and progressing society would encourage more local companies to produce & foreign companies to produce locally. Competition will naturally drive down prices. Companies will have to sit up and offer better after sale service to retain customers. If local products compare favourably both in quality & price to imported ones, many will out of patriotism patronise local products. When society works, other positive things follow. |
sapiosexual1:Haba! Who says they are APC supporters? ![]() Maybe those were best men, family & well-wishers fetching the bride for their buddy. ![]() The thing be like Nollywood film: he must marry latest by 12 noon on a particular date or forfeit 20m Naira left in his uncle's last will. And time is already 11:53 am on that date. ![]() |
pippimp:Wrong. It depends on how kids are brought up. Some diaspora kids are more proud of 9ja than many 9ja resident Nigerians. Maybe because diaspora kids are not fully aware of the dysfunction in 9ja. At least not from lifelong experience. Like whenever they visit 9ja, they live in nice houses put up by their diaspora parents over the years. They see poverty around alright, but they are also notice how cheerful & friendly Nigerians are despite. On the other hand if they never visit 9ja, parents don't discuss 9ja challenges with them, they never get to witness actual feeling of interacting with Nigerians in Nigeria, their perspective might be different. If you're currently raising diaspora kids, bring them home as often as you can & you see friends do same & some don't, you will understand my point. As regard contributing to 9ja, things are changing fast. In the future, diaspora kids maybe seconded by foreign companies to their branch based in 9ja. They won't even need work permit to live & work in 9ja. And another thing: if she was caught with drugs or a fraudster or prostitute, her Nigerianess would be plastered all over Western media. Even if she has never breath 9ja air once in her life. Now that it's good news, we reserve the right to savour it too. ![]() |
Havilah93:9ja was created to be divided Ab initio. So that colonialists can plus us against each other. Well, the whole North should follow suit. Separation is long overdue. Or we will keep being a comatose giant. |
STFUareyouG0d:No, Marvin Gaye died long ago. ![]() If you can get a stunning babe to do it in ur stead since you are a muchacho, even better. ![]() |
rattlesnake:I wonder o. That name resemble name of a town in Mali, Timbuktu side. ![]() |
Another thing we Africans are hypocritical about is sexual chemistry. We form holy-holy about it. A lovely beautiful friend's marriage failed recently. From talking to her, I learnt they had a short no sex courtship before marriage. Sex seemed to have been poor from the beginning. Later it was like once a month! Quite possible somebody was getting it outside. |

They want to create space for their kids, girlfriends & kids of cronies & relatives. It seems CBN & FIRS could not accommodate all their kids & girlfriends. ![]() |
STFUareyouG0d:Will you bet to upload your pics or video in pants (Like Gary Leniker did last night after losing Leicester EPL bet last season) on NL if Dream team wins any medal? ![]() That will convince us how serious you are. |
candidbabe:Gbam! My only grouse with him is not resigning. I wonder why 9ja people cannot resign when they obviously know their work is being thwarted by people above them. One major reason I respect NOI. She resigned as foreign minister, knowing it just was not her passion to do high power diplomacy. Not to mention the rot in the MoFA that appalled her. If circumstances cannot let you do your work to your very best, do not hang around. Go where you can function at your best. |
ishowdotgmail:Share ke? So you think the money will not grow wings like oil money has over the years? ![]() Abeg make dem no sell. If na the corpse or skeleton remain, make we still dey see where dem bury am. ![]() Since some people are hell-bent on killing the country through incompetence & corruption. ![]() |
Ontarget:I think having a simple, workable & realistic plan is more important than money. At least in the beginning. The real big business you want to end up with may not be the one you begin with. But you learn the ropes with a smaller business. People like Coscharis began simple and branched out. Most people added oil & gas to their business much later, and eventually got very rich from it. Most people think having millions at once is the only way to start. No. And remember something important: you might even fail in first or even second attempt. Especially with the business climate in 9ja that can be quite harsh at times. Successful business people are just those who persevered. |
Useful lesson. |
Edoblakky:Abi o. Has Obaseki now organised his own debate? Probably with his housemaid as the moderator? ![]() |
juininho:. Do you remember oil prices were already falling before March 2015? Do you remember Buhari promising to stabilise oil prices in the world market, as part of campaign promise? Do you also remember people like me asking if he was Saudi Arabia or OPEC single handedly? If you cannot run a country well with dwindling income, why contest for office? Is it by force? If you cannot bear the heat, why stay in the kitchen? Why go ahead and bring in silly economic policies, only to flip-flop again? Your problem you is that were only told many things about the past you mentioned, you did not witness much of it. So listen & learn. Buhari overthrew Shagari allegedly due to "poor economy, galloping economy, corruption, etc". I remember the coup speech well. But has he (Buhari) ever been honest enough to say that oil prices were down during that early 1980s period? No, he has not. High oil prices are fuelled by issues like: (1) Low supply: like war/crisis in areas of high supply. In early 1980s, there wasn't much of such crisis. Even Iran-Iraq war of then was not enough to really dent supply. Gulf oil states pumped enough oil that they had about $35 BILLION dollars chicken change to lend Iraq at the time to fight war. But Arab-Israeli crisis in early 70s disrupted world oil supply enough that 9ja made huge money under Gowon. Funded post Biafra War economic growth/Udoji/rebuilding. Gulf war also disrupted oil supply enough in 1990/1991 that the oil boom netted IBB $12.4Billion which he stole & never returned till today. Common theme here is Saudi Arabia being key to supply or lack of. (2) High Demand: during those oil boom eras, China was a relatively poor country with lower demand for oil. That has changed. But China now also explores alternatives & other supply sources. American demand has reduced greatly. Shale gas & more local oil supply. Renewable/green energy. Now about big brother. It began with Nkrumah. He deployed way more percentage of Ghana's relatively meagre resources towards helping other Africans than 9ja did. Until he was overthrown. Should we have tolerated Apartheid in South Africa or sit by and let famine ravish some fellow Africans? If you do not understand the notion of Pan-Africanism that fuelled the fight for independence throughout Africa & the Caribbean, better not disparage it. Despite the wastage during PDP years, it was a period of economic growth not seen since the 70s really. Corruption in the system had grown monstrously during IBB years, Buhari's fellow coupist. If you doubt it, see how budget padding happened right under the nose of your messiah. ![]() CORRECTION: Nigeria has not made up to a TRILLION dollars let alone trillions years back, from oil right from Oloibiri in 1959 till now. I know most people are very poor with mathematical perspectives. Especially when high figures are involved. All estimates so far are below $500 billion. $300-$400 billion in fact. ![]() |
stinflame:You nor surprise. MTN, Glo and others sprang up. Every can now afford telecommunication/ICT. A major revolution of how we live. 9ja was attracting largest FDI in Africa. Largest economy in Africa, etc. Look at local musicians, comedians and other artists that were made in that period. We launched a satellite too. Sure, we could have done a lot better but in my lifetime so far, since 1983, there has been no period of steady progress like 1999-2015. None. 1983-1999 was a lost era. They now see that blaming GEJ for prior 50 years of failure is not smart anymore. |
neolboy:Is that it has "tey" that 419 started, from oyinbo side & that a man of any colour should fear a woman of any colour. ![]() |

aresssa:So you mean your boring "dasein" can get any worse? You should thank me for infusing some excitement into ur usual boredom. ![]() |
bennynaza:I wonder. Which penal code recommends strokes of the cane? That is very little punishment. They should instead enforce a proper sex offenders register and DNA data bank for offenders. Some such people graduate to rapists. ![]() |
