aresssa:Nope. I said primary means. Go check. I am proud of my village. Every time in 9ja I go to my village. Maybe you are one of those who after managing to escape to Lagos, u are now forming Lagos slum champion. ![]() I blame glo abi MTN free megabytes. ![]() |
sobmos:Accept your apology to myself. I cannot accept for others. It takes a man/woman to admit mistake. But Buhari's record was right there to see. Now equally talk to others objectively that Buhari was a mistake. To make amends. Because people are still blaming GEJ for all the failures since 1960. ![]() |
aresssa:You still do not get it. Which country and which year were they constructed? Are they also the primary means of crossing the major roads? Posting some Google images say nothing. I guess you just moved from your village to Lagos. So you are wowed. ![]() You obviously have not been to any developed country. |
DBriteLitehouse:True federalism will not happen. The political elite won't allow it. Simple. The powers that be think it is all about oil and will benefit only ND. They have forgotten other advantages like bringing governance closer to the grass roots, local police, less burden on FG, etc. |
CHANNELStv2020:Original Clueless you mean. No wonder they tried to wear GEJ cloth that did not belong to him. But they failed woefully. ![]() I think 9ja just decide to be suffer head anyhow. Otherwise I see no reason to vote Buhari. |
Challenge bawo? Dem say make una stop importation. Patronise Awka, Aba and Okrika made. While dem oga ruling us can flex oyinbo made goods recklessly. ![]() |
aresssa:Please name the better organised country I have not visited where overhead pedestrian crossing is used as the primary means of crossing highway or major roads? Similar to Lekki for example and built in the last 10 years. From there we can find out who is ignorant. |
Good. Doing something at least. But Wait o. What is with overhead pedestrian bridges? Why do we not see them in many better organised societies if so brilliant? What about underground passageway? Is it fear of criminals at night or no light for the passageway? It seems odd still doing this ugly stuff in 21st century. |
When a woman with many kids dey point her nyansh for camera to show the whole world, won't her kids be embarrassed by it? How many pics of Joke Silva has she seen revealing stuff like that? Very unfortunate that these are the role models some of our young women have to emulate. |
DBriteLitehouse:Something's got to give. Either militants continue killing, Buhari send bombers to fire at militant hideouts, NA & Buhari get nervous and decide to massacre just anyone around there to flex muscle OR all of the above. Whichever way, degeneration of the situation is more likely. Because increasing poverty and hopelessness mean more young people are ready to join the militants, to get rich quicker or die trying. The only solution is to discover large amounts of crude oil in the Lake Chad Basin. Then the North will implement resource control & leave ND oil. |
When you throw mud at a man God has blessed, it rather adorns him like gold. GEJ is an example. |
At least she nor bleach her skin. Maybe some originality left. But flaunting affluence while repping mostly average people is insensitive. But politicians in 9ja mostly rep their pockets sha. |
tuniski:Dem never see anything yet. When we warned them, they called us tanoids. Hate and bigotry blinded them. Na laugh I go dey laugh. ![]() |
9ja. The more you look the less u see |
Fabulocity:Love is not really that common these days. Never mind how much people abuse the word "love". On the other hand, a guy with money won't really have trouble getting a woman. Soldier go, soldier come but barracks remain. |
The press has been so seriously muzzled that only tiny bits filter through to the public. I only pity the soldiers whose deaths are not even reported, let alone mourned. And their families who may be in the dark. |
O0XYGEN:How many universities are there in Ghana? Is it even up to 40? I know many Ghanians and we talk about education. |
leofab:Chai! Poo on boss' desk after lotto win. ![]() |
Hmmmmmmm.... Engagement party? Haba! Anyway, maybe invited by the Eleko. |
MOBBDEEP:I know this is old thread. But it is not that rare in 9ja at all. There are millions of people with affective/mood disorders. Bipolar disorder, initially called manic depression. The elevated mood might be fairly subtle (hypomania) that bipolar might seem unlikely. Worse still, it can be a mixed picture of two or more affective disorders like bipolar + OCD or Bipolar + OCD + anxiety. It becomes like a case of the chicken & the egg, which came first? Or better still, which disorder re-enforces the other? She urgently needs psychological medical attention. No need for stigma. It is just like any other illness. |
JVgal:And you think the millions of ungrateful broke ass girls sponging off guys is cool, bah? Those who have implemented monetisation policy on their pvssy. ![]() How many girls even spend on guys to begin with? |
izzy4shizzy:The thing even applies to Nigerian men more sef. How many broke guys are subsidised by girlfriends? Whereas at 75% of girls with a boyfriend, rich or poor, can expect various degrees of "oil subsidy" from their guy or sugar daddy, or just an admirer or male acquaintance. Women are exquisitely parsimonious with their money, especially when it comes to spending on a guy. She can expect a high end phone or other expensive stuff for every set of boxer shorts she gives him as birthday present. ![]() Some girls living in those lavish apartments get them paid for by their men. |
Sweetcollins:Well, what happened to the body language that APC people where shouting from the rooftops just months ago? Or was it body odour? ![]() They said people were all quaking in their boots & nobody dare contemplate any corrupt act. The whole noise went after budget padding right under the nose of Buhari. ![]() Talk is really cheap o. Walking the walk is very different. ![]() |
As a commercial student I heard she needs Economics to study most of their related courses I
Of course she does. Real reason she has to chose carefully. Economics is one of the most underestimated courses. Until you delve in. A friend of mine who went in for a BSc in Economics and Economic history had to go for only BSc Economic history from year 2. This was a premier UK business school in London. Very competitive school. Despite straight As she found Economics quite tough. She reckoned that 1.1 or 2.1 would be hard for her to achieve with economics joint degree. As an oyinbo girl from a family of high flyers, 2.2 was no option. That was years ago though. |
Good. You are on FP now. You will likely get more useful comments; But one advice: make sure you do find time to go see it yourself. If possible be there during decking/slab or any other crucial stage. This is no matter of trust or mistrust. I have had costs inflated by up to 120% by a trusted person/pastor. Be it artificially doubling surface area to be coated with German floor or dubiously doubling area to be covered by tiles. I found out too late. Only when I sent other people/engineers to take measurements that I found out. The quotes just seemed out of place. Clearly foundation material, cement bags, blocks said to have been used, nogging wood for roof when checked later by a builder, he said such quantity certainly was not needed for the size of house. Instead of explaining how he used so much material, just admitting he lied, he stormed out and abandoned the project. Causing a rift. That is life for you. If you need to do a project in absentia, use a professional builder. There are some really great guys here on NL. Spyder880 is one. Good luck. |
gbosaa:Same thing we thought in France '98 World Cup. And the Danes beat us 4-1! Same Germany thought in European Championship final game in 1992. Denmark won there too. Never joke with them. ![]() |
Please what is the full story? Not everybody can watch AIT. |
What many have not mentioned here is that this is not unique to Nigerians. I know many Western born and bred Asians, male and female who have married from Asia. Though some due to family pressure. Ugandans, Kenyans, Ghanaians and other Africans marry from home too. Remember also that most African men remain firmly African at heart. Years away from home and Western education not withstanding. Marrying from home and starting a family gives the psychological impression of being able to imbibe African values in the kids coming soon. Also, whether realistic or not, most men dream of returning to 9ja one day. That may seem more difficult with a non-submissive woman that had even found her way abroad in the first place. I know some pensioners who have returned to 9ja and the wives chose to stay abroad. Some of the brides taken abroad are long term girlfriends or teenage love too. Some re-acquainted through social media. And the liberal western values we espouse abroad, how successful are their marriages in the West? 50% divorce rate. So maybe the men who stick to African values are not that unwise. At the end, it is individual choice. |
After seeing one uneducated rather fat lady kicked my friend out repeatedly, I can relate. She did it after nearly every slight argument. Sometimes after 10 pm, even midnight. Because she rented the flat. Yet my friend paid most of the bills. She claimed she wanted to teach him a lesson. She became annoyed with me for taking my friend in each time. Luckily he moved on and has a great family now. |
Is a course that involves much economics ideal for her? How much of economics will she need to do well in a Bus. Admin degree? Is it her real strength? Consider that first. Getting in is one thing. Doing well is also important. |
At least she passed all subjects in one go. No join join results. She tried. Assuming it was all her effort alone. |
