Evil everywhere. RIP sir. |
PaulIdu:Nigeria does not work with logic like that. Boko Haram disguised as herdsmen have now found strategic locations nationwide. Any fiam, they will quickly organise into fighting units nationwide. The North has a supporter of APC army already. Anything that removes Buhari aside natural death or very obvious and conclusive loss at the polls, the North will unleash mayhem. What they did under GEJ using Boko will be a mere picnic. It is about control of Nigeria and its resources, not about progress of the nation Simple. We are too naive down South. |
thegoodjoehunt3:The same money from which was used to buy SUVs for Buhari and others, bah? ![]() |
thegoodjoehunt3:Any convictions? It is all allegations as we speak. Daily trust is owned by who? |
Qmerit:Chai. Na wa o. Education these days na wa. Let me use pidgin then: if to say all this yeye policies na cbn gov use im mind dey do am, wey nor be oga dictator send am, you think say oga for never go tell NASS say he wan sack am? ![]() I hope u understand that better. If no dictator in democracy, how come Democratic People 's Republic of Korea have a dictator? In their mind they have democracy, you know. Just like you think. |
Oktoberfest:Well, I did not witness their confession. But two elderly friends developing sudden big belly and depression at the same time? Maybe a scan would have shown if there were babies in there? Those two cases remain a mystery to me. I do not think depression can make people do that. Not even bipolar. The feeling of guilt in affective disorders is a bit different. More like psychosis here. But the symptoms would have been obvious previously. |
Ok.....people concurring. ![]() |
eyeview:The level of self-loathing is quite worrying. We think the very worst of ourselves. A guy like Mr Essien does not lack female attention. Success attracts women. He would be used to turning lots of women down already in real life, let alone on twitter seen by lots of people. Men turn down ladies everyday, even single men. The fallacy out there is that every guy wants to bed every available lady. Some men just want to focus their energy & resources on achieving something decent for themselves. This fallacy can affect wives who, without any evidence suspect their men. Yes, some men cheat, some men don't. Just like women. If anything, in the 9ja system, women have more incentive to cheat. Economic reasons, whereas it is an economic net loss for a guy. It is also easier for women to cheat. Just look fine & you will see one guy approach you. A guy has to make the extra effort of toasting & all that rigmarole first. |
TheArchangel:The lady clearly has ascitis. And sadly, 9ja is just the perfect place to develop such if you are poor to afford medical help: infection, TB, liver cirrhosis, cancer, several heart diseases: pericarditis, bacterial endocarditis, CCF, etc, pancreatitis, venous obstruction from schistosomiasis or Budd-Chiari disorder, kidney failure & so many other causes. That is on the clinical side. But I witnessed something similar as a kid: some area boys (some just finished NYSC & no job, some admission seekers) were running towards the main road with sticks and anything they could lay their hands on. We kids sneakily followed behind them, mum was not at home. It was around 5pm on that Sunday. On getting to the federal highway, we were shocked. Two elderly men were being pummeled with all kinds of things. Both were slim but had CONSPICUOUSLY LARGE BELLIES. Both wore native ankara buba & soro. Apparently, a car had pulled up along the highway and they were pushed out of the car, while they tried to cling on to the car. As people walking along enquired why the maltreatment of the elderly men, other occupants of the car explained that the two men had being banished from their village. And were to be deposited far away never to return. From another state I think. Allegedly, both men were witches who "stole" babies from pregnant women's wombs and take to their coven at night. And that baby will be a "useless" child when born. Because the witches would have already used/stolen his/her spirit or destiny/fortunes even before being born. On this occasion, the pregnant women had found out their babies were being taken and night had prepared for it. Instead of falling into deep sleep after the babies were taken, they woke up, presumably helped by a babalawo. When the two witches returned from the coven, the women were not in their beds, so they could not return the babies. They would have died right there if not for one good samaritan, a local JW christian, who happened to be driving by and picked them from the crowd and took them to the hospital. We never heard about them again. NOW: did the two witches have ascitis at the same time? Both were also delirious and confessed? Were were their family members in that village?? Although scientific logic won't allow me to accept this witchcraft thing, but that childhood observation is very vivid. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Well so far, we hear about siphoning money, where is the hard evidence? Considering APC/Buhari came to power wearing anti-corruption Toga, where are the convictions? Who are the so-called looters & how much did each return? Is it because they are ashamed to admit they accused people anyhow just to get into power? Or the new APC squad quietly pocketed returned loot? Why is it that only Sambo Dasuki who arrested the tyrant 33 years ago when he was kicked out was being terrorised, and Buratai in charge of military procurement has been declared saint? Oh, he used proceeds from snake farm to buy properties in Dubai! ![]() Under Ngozi's first coming, our foreign debts were cancelled, second time, we became Africa's biggest economy. And under Adeosun, we are now in a recession & our country the worst performing economy worldwide. Instead of Buhari & co to dust up secondary school books on economics, they are pointing fingers at GEJ & NOI. Is that all they are going to do in 4 years and commission projects started and paid for by GEJ? Blaming everybody else but themselves? If they demonised GEJ & rubbished our economy under GEJ, why did they accept the mandate if they cannot at least maintain the economic growth they inherited? When will he stabilise oil price in the world market & make One Naira = one dollar? ![]() |
Miles300:When we said Adeosun has no gravitas and will be a "yes woman" to Buhari, we were called Tanoids. All she does is timidly speak " phonair". ![]() It seems as if ministry of finance does not exist in 9ja. |
Qmerit:So you believe the Aso dictator allows this man to do his work at CBN? And Buhari has not approached NASS to remove him since?Hehehehe. ![]() My only grouse with CBN gov is not resigning from his position knowing that he cannot work under an undemocratic president. But that is normal to sit tight in 9ja. He has northernised the system already, kicked out 5%ers and refused to appoint them. Except to fulfil all righteousness. What difference will it make? |
Grundig:All networks are important. All cannot be about Lagos-Abuja route. Lagos-Ibadan rail should decongest the express and reduce incessant accidents on that route. GEJ's map to network the whole country is there. He already began the whole work plan. I hope the govt actually continues with the whole blueprint. Including Benin-Warri, & Benin-Asaba and other areas that never had train network before as in GEJ's plan. |
dadaha:Our Kenya friend should come & enlighten us. ![]() |
Trina0936:Actually it is: for example nothing protects a woman from contracting HV naturally. Except an extremely rare genetic make-up as found in a lady & her daughter who were both prostitutes in Kenya many years ago. But male circumcision has been found to offer a small amount of protection against HIV. A woman's naturally larger mucus membrane down below also increases the risk of contracting HIV more. Her chances of contraction each time she's exposed to HIV is a bit higher than that of a guy. However, whatever slight protection men have is regarding only heterosexual sex, which I suppose we're talking about. BUT that little protection IS NOT GOOD enough to make any guy reckless. PROTECTION IS STILL KEY. My assertion is from scientific research published over the years + everyday clinical observation. Also, if you look around or check family studies in every country, far more women are raising their kids alone, than men raising their kids alone. Many of those single mothers are teenagers who got pregnant totally unplanned. We all know of girls (even over 30 years old ones) who got preggy and the boyfriend did a runner. Do not forget that a lot of "relationships" in 9ja have a financial aspect to it. Whereby the lady depends on the man economically. So the one with the economic strength has more power in the relationship and can get to decide how sex is had, including with or without protection. In the UK, well over 2 million kids are growing up without a dad in their lives. That is, their dads contact them less than two times a year, by definition. Many areas have even been identified nationwide geographically in UK as "men deserts". Clearly, the burden is far, far more on women. |
HungerBAD:The Ruff Ryder one make me laugh. ![]() There must be "Smooff Ryder" too. ![]() I'm actually impressed that awareness is better among women and more possibly taking charge of their sexual health. Instead of being passive and allowing guys to decide if preventive measures should be taken during intercourse. After all, the burden of STIs, abortions and single parenthood is disproportionately greater on women. |
At the end, the girls they are going to show us will be very different from Chibok girls. Especially if this continues closer to the next election. Chibok parents will be prohibited from speaking publicly. This is 9ja, the more you look, the less you see. |
ADBOK: ![]() Hahahahaha. At the end a complex protein called "konjiyudin" results, that functions like cAMP and stimulates the limbic system, espcially the hippocampus, amygdala as well as the dentate & cingulate gyri of the limbic lobe, bah? ![]() |
Talk2Bella:I wonder o Did he get advise from his mother while eating the cookies recklessly? But wait o, why get preggy 5 times? She has never heard about contraception? Yes, she must do contraception alone because she takes the risk of abortion alone so waiting for the guy to plan contraception with her is foolish. |
Zombies be like : it is the fault of Jonathan who ate our yam. ![]() Yet the current budget is higher than the previous yearly budgets. So who is now eating the yam? The alleged 1.4 trillion recovered loot nko? We warned people to expect new lows from Buhari, but tribalism and pathological hate for GEJ blinded and deafened them. Enjoy it zombies. ![]() |
Flexherbal:Where will that generation come from? From the swearing trooper tribalists here on Nairaland? ![]() These thieving oldies might even be slightly better. We're in deep trouble. |
This must be like over a year old na. Haba! |
justicejay:And the women of the church those pastors are "fvcking" nko? If truly he's the guy's pastor, should he not be advising him to change his ways if at all it is true? When you have such a pastor, you need no enemies. Maybe the guy has not been paying tithes. Payback. After these pastors finish rubbishing churches, the next generations of better enlightened people will desert religion. It has already happened in most parts of Western World. |
Rapture4real:Not that simple. Fakers also mimic established names. The first time a doctor mentioned fake bottled water as most likely cause of my serious vomiting, I was shocked. I only drank one established brand of water. I never thought 9ja has sunk to such low depths. I don't wanna mention their name, because the real makers have no idea who fake it. I began to look suspiciously at all water brands. |
Olu317:Thank you. I learnt under eminent scientists that an intelligent person asks the right questions. Not necessarily the one who gives the right answers. Why didn't Oduduwa return if he was a prince in Binin?: Chief Oliha (he crowns the Oba since then) and the other senior chiefs that went to Ife/Uhe tried to persuade Ekaladerhan/Ododuwa to return but he refused. Now, Ehkaladerhan was supposed to have been murdered/sacrificed in the forest due to the evil machinations of his step-mother/Queen. But the executioners could not bear to murder a crown prince. They let him live but made him swear never to return to Benin. He escaped death by the skin of his teeth. He had also become ruler in Ife. So considering his newfound fortune of Kingship & bad memory of only just escaping death, it is not farfetched that refused to return. A man (Ekaladerhan) possibly in his 60s or older, who has found fortune, respect and dignity among his subjects in Ife has little incentive to leave all that. The complex system of kingship in Benin & palace intrigues that he already witnessed and only just survived were enough to put him off. Even the young agile Oranmiyan could not cope with the elaborate, fierce & convoluted system in Ogodomigodo and he left saying this Kingdom is "Ile-Ubinu". Oba Erediauwa departed many months ago now but ceremonies are still going on & the crown prince is not crowned yet. That is how elaborate, complex & detailed the system is and has been for centuries. Why was the King's body part of the Oba of Bini(mostly the head) buried in IFE in ancient times?: We hear a lot about this, but no conclusive evidence that that was the case. I have many relatives as palace chiefs in Benin who should know. But none has confirmed it. Royal tradition is sacredly maintained and never distorted. Even if that was the case that body or body part was taken to Ife, it could be because Oranmiyan the father of Oba Eweka I was probably buried in Ife too. But no credible source has confirmed this. Why do Bini believe they came out from UHE(IFE)?: Wrong. Benin people do not & never claim to come from Ife/Uhe. A Benin saying is that "Uhe o bie Oba", meaning "Ife gave birth to the Oba". This indicates the birth of the first Oba (oranmiyan) after the end of Ogiso/Oba-Godo era, in Ife. Even though he did not stay long in Benin, he was still the first post-Ogiso Oba. Yoruba people make this mistake a lot. That Oranmiyan came from Ife does not make all Benin people come from Ife. The House of Bernadotte is the Royal Family of Sweden. Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte was a French general under Napoleon Bonaparte (Emperor of the French) before he became King of Sweden/Norway. But Swedes are not French. The British Royal family is German, but the British do not count as Germans. The former Royal family of Greece was Danish/German but Greeks are not Danes. Ptolemy, a general under Alexander The Great became Pharaoh of Egypt & was ancestor of Queen Cleopatra of Egypt, but Egyptians were not and are not Greeks. Examples abound throughout history. As to where Benin people migrated from, like most Nigerian tribes, it is not scientifically proven where they originally came from. That probably happened thousands of years back, possibly 5000 years or more. Too long for any credible oral history to survive. In 9ja, some tribes claim to have used ladder to climb down from heaven, etc. None is scientific. The most likely version for Benin is that of coming from Egypt/Nubia/Sudan. Tell me of any Nigerian tribe with DNA/archeological/Scientific evidence of where they originally came from 5000 or more years ago. ![]() Now, the other Question is not relevant since Benin people never migrated to Ife in the first place. I am amazed with the fabricated story by some of you from Bini had began to tell the world from this year's February 2016 before the demise of the Omo n' Oba. You have not been following similar topics on NL. I have posts dating back to years here on this matter. Though some lost during Cyber attack on NL. Nothing new. Just that people, especially from the SW, have a set mind on the issue & hardly read versions not theirs. Benin people typically mind their business unless others want to use numerical or political advantage in the current Nigerian contraption to twist history. Benin people then respond to set the record straight. The Alake of Abeokuta sometime last year or so claimed that Benin monarchy was third in the hierarchy in Yorubaland. Benin had to correct that provocative statement by letting Alake remember that Benin's Ogiso dynasty gave birth to Ekaladerhan/Ododuwa & therefore cannot be lower than any Yoruba King. Moreover, Benin has never been part of Yorubaland. Sometimes, I believe people are not interested in seeking the truth. All seem to have a position that whether rational or not, they want to stick to it. My suggestion is simple. Why not do DNA studies among Benin, Ife Royal families and relatives in the female line of pre-oranmiyan Ogisos? Science can trace back which is the parent genetic line. That should settle it finally. |
If a man with a wife and 4 kids says he's confused about such a matter, then my people, we have a problem in this country o, big problem. Extremism cropping up everywhere. God help us. |
peacesamuel94:I respect pharmacists. Prescription is not easy. One of the easiest mistakes to make by medics. And kill your patient! Pharmacology saturates medical exams, disproportionately, at least in most western countries. Each time a pharmacist dispenses, there is risk of unknown allergy, etc. A doctor prescribed me the wrong medicine and in overdose too. The pharmacist also surprisingly missed the outrageous dose. Luckily I spotted it only just before taking it. The name of drug for just foot blisters alarmed me. And then the dose. A layman would most likely have taken it and never wake up. Both doctor and pharmacist tried to cover up the mistake. All that in an advanced medical system of the West. Currently in the news that Maxwell, the 28 years old son of Stella Oduah has died of overdose given by a doctor in 9ja. Pharmacy is a key healthcare profession. |
dhardline:The church is just a part of the society. Most people in whatever occupation are there for their belly and pocket. The society is reflected in every sphere: family, politics, govt, religion, etc. Only dreamers believe that most people can rise above the morality and zeitgeist of their environment. Only a miniscule few ever manage that. No, it will not surprise me. |
Sokoflow:In case you don't get it, people first of all belong to their tribe and all things being equal, maybe 9ja a distant second. It is a fact people like to ignore in this country. The harder the economy & life gets, the less people will feel attached to 9ja. Even OBJ said 9ja has never been this divided since Biafra war. The fearful thing to me is the fragmentation of the youths. Even if the country was to break up in 6 nations, I cannot see the current elite suddenly disappearing into oblivion. Rather, they will become the new ruling elite of the new nations. And the youths will find new things to be divided about too. |
faceland:Kidnapping & assassination too. |
dhardline:Because money is worshipped too much. You gain status, attention, get women and most things with money. Push gbana abroad and return with plenty of dough & you're great. Work hard abroad & return with modest but honest achievement, then you did not make it big like the "baron". Nobody cares how you made your money overnight. So we as a society have to change our attitude too. |
cheruv:I think it is because Igbo girls are super intelligent and maybe they see way ahead of most others. Like Zik, Nkrumah and some others did regarding how Nigeria should be. But in the current situation in 9ja, people simply see it as naivety. |
