izuch:Not even in Freetown. ![]() @OP if your brother was going to give a stranger such money and you knew, would you say "bravo bros"? Let's be honest. I have helped without reward before and will do it again. Usually when I see a talent that might be wasted or hindered because of little money. But not everyone does. And it does not make me better or worse than the average guy out there. |
lebesgue:Nothing. Not new. They want a superman. Most ladies have no idea what romance is sef. All about money usually. Be romantic & they will be first to call you weak. SMH. |
@Op ogakuna, Is ugly versus pretty talk your new year resolution? You started another thread today about Tontoh Dike ending up with an ugly guy. https://www.nairaland.com/2837663/reasons-why-toto-dike-ended#41577187 Anyways............... Some handsome guys are just vain and shallow. Some "ugly" guys have a great personality. Some pretty girls are deep and see beyond the skin. |

cococandy:Thank you my dear. I simply like honest people. @OP, if you won't worry seeing a lion inside your goat pen, then relax about this. ![]() But no irrational or accusatory reaction. I have a lady that we were once close but lost contact under difficult circumstances. We reacquainted after a very long time. This lady is now married with 3 kids. Ol' boy it was really emotional. Not too far from the scenario you painted. To her hubby, he has a perfect family. And the man trying if you ask me. He provides well for the family. But the lady is not happy. I cannot understand why. I have avoided this lady physically ever since. Her insinuations have scared me into giving excuses why we cannot see. My culture forbids doing married women. It has been by the Grace of God. Not easy resisting it. Not easy at all. Pray that the guy has cultural/religious qualms about it. Otherwise, hmmmm. |
Hmmmmm.......I only see a fine Fula babe. |
RobinHez:Ok, are all black women now in temperate regions? The fact that nature first dictated it for a good reason even makes the whole fake hair more fake. Black women just don't realise how beautiful their natural hair is. We are just too lazy to be innovative when it matters. Don't get me started of bleached skin. Both guys n ladies this time. Akala syndrome. ![]() |
including the head = 26 |
Kachisbarbie:Nor mind them. Dem just want to delay a pretty lady and have a chat. ![]() |
jamex93:So you mean 50 is old. Our great grand dads were still bleeping & siring kids in their 80s. Dey dia. You will soon be 50 yourself. ![]() They get the same pleasure others from 18 to 100 years get from it. ![]() At least they were not defiling 11 years old kids. |
BornSad:Lol. That's always the case. The more you look for the speck in your brother's eyes, the more the agbalumo trees in your own eyes get bigger and produce delicious fruits. |
Chicagoesontop:It can't be true that graduates don't know these things. I make a lot of mistakes, 95% are due to being in a hurry or the typing prompts you have in smartphones. I guess most people know. |
Atmmachine:I see. They are through with sub-prime mortgage, recession and Lehmann Brothers' Brouhaha. ![]() Good to know. Here in Sambisanistan we don't work at all. Me make knockouts as a hobby. ![]() |
Nigeria has many excelleent speechwriters. Heck, we have produced the likes of Achebe, Soyinka, Cyprian Ekwensi, Emecheta, Saro-Wiwa, Fagunwa, Abani, Helon Habila, Ben Okri, Adichie,Unuigwe and many more. People who have their way with words. But alas, we never get those in power, who translate words on paper into economic progress. ![]() |
Alal:Growing up, parents experienced similar stuff. Even once with my aunt who was a senior police officer. Working directly with an AIG then. She never abused people because she rubbed shoulders with high echelon of the police. So I was never brought up to believe in such abuse of power. |
MXrep:You know some people believe in voodoo economics. ![]() They think the wishes of opposition or opponents is what crashes an economy, not poor management and lack of sound policies and poor implementation of policies. Soon they will be asking prayer warrior to help the economy. ![]() The op is looking for a way to shift the blame on those who think GMB cannot manage our econonmy. And exonerate the president. The possibility that such people might be "kwarrekt" is alien to him. Because the handwriting is on the wall. Already. ![]() |
ernie4life:Eiya. My condolences. May God give you the fortitude. Happy New Year! |
Guys, I'm still in year 2015 here o. How does the future look like? ![]() |
Happy new year! |
Saw it on tv. |
authority2006:So you mean that if criminals do not adhere to civil responsibility to be law-abiding, the police and law enforcement bodies should be excused if they fail to tackle crime and criminals? Going by your logic, that should apply too. I wonder if your family member, irrespective of political affiliation, had lost such a case in court due to INEC's incompetence, would you be so sanguine about it? |
Donpressman:9ja is all about politics. Not truth. As long as APC won presidency under Jega, he's a hero. How can we trust any election conducted by INEC with so many being nullified by the courts? Whether Taraba, Rivers, Edo, and many more over the years since 1999? We have a big problem if we cannot conduct common elections. |
Hahahahahaha! For this 9ja. Hian! Na Mother Theresa come corrupt. I hear. ![]() |
darkid1:Whatever anyone does, there are legal means to address it. Soldiers meant to protect their country should know better. What training do they even get? Gra gra training only? They even refused pleas from the police. Why not hand him over to the police if truly he committed a crime or did something illegal? The police will take it seriously knowing soldiers are involved. Jungle justice should never be tolerated in a civilised society. If somebody probably living on $2 a day ruins my car (not just windscreen), I won't bother doing anything. Waste of time. |
Sounds weird, but a female friend once told me that. She says she misbehaves badly if a guy is nice. She wants her man to beat her up. And then make love to her. That's when she really enjoys it. A tall, pretty hour-glass girl I mean. SMH. |
Chai!, life is tough & wicked now o. Anything for money. RIP young lady. |
Nice |
enieme:No, I did not do it as a degree. I'm rather more at home dealing with diseases. ![]() Though I studied various European languages, mostly Romance ones. But none at degree level. I'm just interested in languages as a hobby. ![]() Information about Germanic languages is not hard to get. If that is what you mean. There's much known about Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch/Flemish, German, English and Danish. |
enieme:Miss, I'm not a philologist or an anthropologist. ![]() But I will try from reading books in those subjects. Please consult experts or recommended books if you need this information for official or scholarly purposes. I will list them with the earliest to emerge first, and the youngest last. In order of age. (1) Anatolian: has been around since about 4200 BC. Language died/became extinct sometime between 2nd & 8th century AD (late antiquity). (2)Tocharian: came about around 3700 BC. Now basically extinct. (3) Germanic: by 3300 BC (4) Italic: including Latin & subsequent Romance languages by about 3000 BC. (5)Celtic: including Irish/Scottish Gaelic, Breton (still spoken in France by a few people), Welsh, by 3000BC (6)Armenian by 2800BC (7) Balto-Slavic by 2800BC (8]Hellenic/Greek by 2500BC (9)Indo-Iranian by 2200BC (10) Albanian by 14th century AD Quite surprising because one would expect Indo-Iranian and Hellenic languages to be older than say Germanic or Italic. Even Celtic would be presumed older than Germanic. But alas, Germanic is the oldest living Indo-European language sub-group. ![]() Welch eine ueberraschung! |
Abeg, Brown go bring our children come home. We nor dey born throway (apologies to Dame Patience ).If na efo riro, ewedu, amala, yam abi na eba, make dem come follow chop. ![]() |
RexKexMilann:How many of the girls are even God-fearing sef? It's just a trend and en vogue now. If in 20 years, "God-fearing" is perceived as old-fashioned and naff, they will start writing/saying "spiritual" and other such things. Just follow the history of the West and see how the change has been. 9ja is just only socially behind by about 100 to 150 years, never mind smartphones, consumerism and pretence at sophistication. |
cowleg:What of the left buttock of a hunchback bonobo monkey? You're still an apprentice priest my friend. ![]() |
