How on earth can anyone reason with Drs going on strikes because they do not want other health workers to become consultants or Directors or intern medical labs placed on CONHESS 8 STEP 2.

THE SAME APPLIES TO HEADSHIP OF HOSPITALS IN WHICH CASE THEY WOULD RATHER RESULT TO LAME REASONS BRINGING IN PILOT HOSTESS EXAMPLE AND REFUSE TO QUOTE DEVELOPED CLIMES ON THIS.

I believe that well meaning Nigerians on public forums like these are experiencing a little taste of what other health professionals have been passing through "under" Doctors. THEY WILL HAUL INSULTS OR RESPOND WITH REASONS SHOWING SUPERIORITY AND INSECURITY WHEN EVER ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING CONTRARY TO THE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE IN NIGERIA THOUGH THE POST APPEALS TO COMMON SENSE.

THE biggest problem in Nigeria is mismanagement not necessarily absence of funds. Drs have run the health system of this country down through mis management. they are the ones who are ministers and CMDs and almost all the Directorates in the health sector are headed by themr

True, some doctors, especially the freshly inducted ones, can be egotistical and pompous, but a lot of doctors I know (and I do know a lot) are just trying to earn a livelihood and advance in their careers like other Nigerians.
Resentment and hatred is there irrespective of your attitude, and this is not peculiar to Nigeria.

ottizz: The thing most of you doctors don't get is that it is not due to hatred that causes people to pit themselves against you. Rather it is a reaction against your egotistical selves. It is human nature. Change your attitude. Understand the primary reason you are in this profession: the patient. Treat the patient with empathy and respect. Once you understand this and believe in it everything else will fall in place. Can you imagine gynecologist telling a pregnant woman in labor that she needs to hurry up and deliver or else he was going to leave, for he does not want to miss his appointment at another place (probably his clinic). Why would I support such individual in anything he is asking for?

And the problemmost drs have with Nigerians. 1 rude, bad, inexperienced dr has turned all drs to rude and bador daft or wicked.

Can you all honestly say that every dr you have met is like that. Its annoying.
