That's the point.. the economy was not as opened as it is now n the economy was not as dollarized as now.
Those earning that money then also include new generation banks .

Telecom were beginning to get libereated then.

So aside these few sectors, which other sectors were doing well?

So year 2000 was not a long time ago.

10k tho a good money was not a big money .

Most Nigerians were not as lucky as you to have a 100k naira per month job in the early 2000s.

The majority of the population was making less than 10k naira per month in 2000, and the purchasing power of our currency was higher in those days compared to today.

Conversely, if an item had a price of 10k nairas in 2000, it will cost 200k nairas or more today in 2024 due to inflation.

10k naira was a lot of money for an average Nigerian in 2000, contrary to your opinion.

All those in oil sector.and telecoms

Pls 2000 was not a long time ago.

Within 2000 and 2004 were same thing

Now I know that you're not being realistic, and you don't have any point to back your claim.

What was the population of employed Nigerians in 2000, and how many were in either the telecom or oil sectors?

The answer is "less than one percent.".
Celebrities / Re: Rita Dominic: I Was Paid N10,000 For My First Movie Role by Ashirioluwa: 10:55pm On Mar 10
peleson1:

There was no much difference in naira and salary within year 2000 and year 2004.

70k to 120k range were ok salaries .

Nitel staff were earning around 60k n above n were making lots of money.

Be realistic and forget about tips or other money made illegally. How many Nigerians were making 60k naira from 2000 to 2004?

10k was not lot of money then .

It was just a little money that could pay ur transport to n fro Lagos.

My salary then was close to a 100k tho

He was meant to be paid 35k not 10k

To you, 10k naira might be a little money during the year 2000, but to the average Nigerian, 10k was a lot of money because my salary before I resigned from my job in December 2005 was around 25k naira per month.

Considering that the minimum wage in Nigeria during the year 2000 was 5500 naira, therefore, your 100,000 naira per month salary made you one of the highest-paid individuals in the country.

Why are you adding pain to those who are already in pain?

Instead of demolishing the houses, the government can ask the landlord to pay a fine.

Firstly, if you had your previous two children in the USA on a B1/B2 visa, why would you need an interview again to secure a new visa instead of using the dropbox option? Moreover, your previous USA visa should surely enhance your chances of obtaining a Canadian visa. The Canadian visa officer will compare the date you applied with the date your USA visa was refused. Some officers might still send you a procedural fairness letter to explain this, noting that you have not violated any regulations. Indeed, some people are refused entry to the USA and still obtain a Canadian visa. Therefore, your USA visa refusal under Section 214(b) is not a ban; it simply means you were refused without having committed any crime. So, just relax, pray, and hope you get the Canadian visa approved.

She attended the visa interview because she doesn’t qualify for the US visa interview waiver.

Applicant must meet each of the following criteria to qualify for visa interview waiver:

- Your previous visa was issued in Nigeria.

- Your previous visa is in the same classification as your current application.

- Your previous visa was a full validity, multiple entry visa.

- Your previous visa expired within the last 48 months or will expire in the next 3 months from the date of application.

- You have all your passports covering the entire period since receiving the previous visa and the passport with the most recent visa.

- You have never been arrested or convicted of any crime or offense in the United States, even if you later received a waiver or pardon.

- You have never worked without authorization or remained beyond your permitted time in the United States.

I intend getting a new phone and my budget is 120k. Please I need advise on the best option to go for with regards to my budget.

Different individuals have different problems. Some folks are crying about this economic hardship and looking for cash to put food on the table for their families, while others are out there shopping for houses, cars, or phones.

This life is not balanced.

Madam, stop being worried. The US and Canada don't share this type of information.

Both countries share information relating to applicants' identities and determine which applicants are potential security threats early in the application process before they enter either country.

Also, they share information as to whether an applicant has previously been refused a visa or removed from either Canada or the US.

Partially true, not 100%.

The CEO of Google is a salary earner. His salary is $2 million a year. In 2019, he was compensated with a triannual stock grant, and this was valued at $281 million.

In 2022, he made $226 million including triannual stock grant.

Also, some salary earners in Nigeria are super rich. Although, they made their money through illegal means.

Forget other saying you shouldn’t declare asylum. Many form rich here a lot. Over sabi kill our people. So far more than 4 people I know too after long talk and over paying hotel bills they ended declaring asylum. Hotel bills is choking. Better to declare asylum from airport. You will be taken to lodge, while you wait for hearing. All these aren’t hard as people make it look.

Out of 6513 Nigerians that applied for asylum in Canada in year 2023, only 1086 were accepted. The approval rate last year for Nigerians was around 17%.

Anyway, I don’t think anyone is forcing him not to do whatever he plans to do. Who knows, he might be among the lucky ones.

All you need to do is go check the Critical Skills Occupation List to see if Barber is included in the list, and then you can start from there.

Hello, my cousin is, but on the condition that:

You don't have excess luggage to carry
You don't have any suspicious (not necessarily contraband) item you're carrying

That you're the only one travelling.

The reason I asked those questions are simple. Someone was introduced to me sometime ago. She was going for her master's degree. She had relations in Canada but had never travelled before so I was asked to help out since we're traveling along same route. I accepted cos of her aunt's kindness to us at home.

We met at the airport. Come and see luggage like someone running away from home. She also had 2 kids, lots of orishirishi packed in luggage. I started becoming a courier assistant right from the airport, yanking off my suit to help out. We landed safely and I was still same person who assisted her in taking her luggage off the carousel one after the other. I wheeled them out for her to take a cab to her location.

If you're not in that lady's description, fine. I'd ask him and revert

I don't know if you've ever heard of this airport announcement that says, "Don't leave your bag unattended and don't accept anything from anyone.".

Also, I have heard, seen, or watched videos of travelers being arrested at airports for having prohibited items in their luggage. As a result of this, I will not assist anyone with his or her bag because I am not going to jail for anyone.

I hate this phrase "if I had known, I wouldn't do it.".

What authority does he have to ruin their day with this ridiculous postponement?

They are both adults, and I don’t think they need anyone's approval to do what they believe is best for them.

This type of nonsense can only happen here.

Take your partner to the registry and marry her. The certificate issued at the registry is more recognized than that of the church.

My good man,

Quick question, at time of applying for your wife's visa, did you authenticate any government issued document - marriage certificate, etc?

I'm seeing conflicting information on the internet.

Kind regards.

She applied for a visitor visa, not an immigrant visa. I don’t think visitor visa needs any authentication.

Anyway, she went with the originals and photocopies of her documents.
