Divorce no longer carries the stigma it used to. People now go in and come out of marriage like is nothing. Really? Based on what metric? 'stigma' as a word is a vague metric. Divorcees are still well marked in the society. They're pop culture AKA gossip fodder. |

Politics › Re: Northerners Are More Connected To Their Radios Than Social Media – Reno Omokri by Asour: 10:51pm On Jul 24, 2022 |
Salym: Oh my bad. I get your point. He contradicted himself. Even Atiku saying 90% of northerners are not on social media is false. Liberalism, as it is today, is just western perception of how everyone must behave. If you don't fit into that definition, you are an extremist. Even Nigerian Christians have rejected some of those liberal gibberish that the west is trying so hard to shove down our throats. I disagree with this. Liberalism only differs in the west BECAUSE they try to codify behaviours into law often. I.e. they don't just tolerate a certain behaviour/practice BUT they try to have it enshrined in law. Now to the bolded, Almost no Muslim in Southern Nigeria has been killed for allegedly Blaspheming the Christian Religion. In Sokoto, 4 months — in a higher institution— in a centre of supposed literacy, a girl was Killed for a petty 'blasphemy' against Islam in broad day light. That's extremism - Not too far from Boko Haram themselves. My brother that can't be a liberal society . Nothing to do with the west here. |
Politics › Re: Northerners Are More Connected To Their Radios Than Social Media – Reno Omokri by Asour: 9:01pm On Jul 24, 2022 |
Salym: Please you shouldn't be making unfounded claims. How would you just equate core northerners to extremism and by what standards do you define extremism? You should know that Muslims do not just dislike social media but they do dislike immoral and bad actions on social media- which I'm sure you also do. Alot of Islamic activities are been carried out in all the social media sites we commonly used in Nigeria. If they are Haram as you wrongly pointed out, you will never have come across preaching and other religious activities on social media. Sorry, you misunderstood me. I use Extreme to mean those who aren't liberal. I don't mean Boko Haram. Core Northerners aren't liberal that's not even up for debate. I'm talking of people who couldn't even condemn what happened to Deborah 4 months ago. My use of the word Haram was to object to Reno's point. These days it's hard to escape social media like WhatsApp. It's embedded in our lives. My point was that Reno was inconsistent: On one hand claiming the North detests social media and then in his last paragraph claiming that they are big on Tiktok. |
Politics › Re: Northerners Are More Connected To Their Radios Than Social Media – Reno Omokri by Asour: 5:20pm On Jul 24, 2022 |
Salym: He was wrong there. Northerners detest Ticktock more than they do to Twitter. But a sizeable number of northerners are on Facebook. With regards to watsapp, I do not think Southerners are more than Northerners or the difference would not be much. Exactly. All social networks (should) constitute haram to core northerners — extreme adherents. The problem is that Reno is doing guess work here. This is not a subjective question though, Facebook, WhatsApp & Tiktok can provide the numbers. But Reno is clearly playing guessing games here. |

DOTian: It was Orji Kalu that brought the herders to that Lokpanta. Since they came there, peace has become a luxury. Orji Kalu and Rochas only bring these kinds of things as their own "federal government projects". . This is around the same place they abducted that bishop few weeks ago. Emotions are still high. Obviously, the locals feel that the herders are using the cattle market as a decoy for all sorts of criminal activities. Some are even suggesting that there are plans by the fulani to use that base as some sort of staging grounds for terrorist attacks. Rochas tried to erect this kind of thing in Orlu but folks resisted him. There is also a video going around, suggesting that building structures belonging to igbos there, were all bulldozed down overnight few weeks ago, leaving only the structures erected by herders.. Sad though. But are Nigerians of any extraction 'brought' to any other part of the country? Aren't all Nigerians able to live in any other part of Nigeria? Just as Igbos live in the North— particularly in specific areas of each state. |

Well, am I surprised? No sir. The other time the donkey of a guy was struggling to save his fingers from the Lion, a more surprising thing in the backdrop was onlookers all posed like statue zombies, glued to their phone cameras, busy recording and not in any way showed concern as the guy wrestled with the lion. Social media era is launching the world into a totally strange era where people are gradually evolving into zombies but everyone don't yet realize everyone is no longer normal.
By year 2080, the world's stupidity by then would be longer than Bet9ja slip. World stupidity you say yet you enjoy the benefits of a modern connected world right from the comfort of your bedroom. The ease doesn't even make you realize that most of the niceties modern man takes for granted today were only afforded by kings 200 years ago. Oh well. |

Could be one of 2 things.
1.You are not a 'natural test taker' . Yes, there are people like that.
2. You don't prepare/practice well enough. Studying the general topics & corrections for long.
Remedy: whenever you don't have a natural aptitude for an exercise you have to do more work.
I'm not joking do 4 hrs practice daily for the next 3 months— don't miss a day.
Make it 6 hrs a day & 2 to the test date. The questions would come naturally to you because of muscle memory.

If such is the case as fixed as your argument. Why can't the employee work from home? After all it should just service for money Sorry My laugh is because you're being condescending without realising it. Any job you give someone BECAUSE you're helping him is an [essentially] useless job. AND the fellow knows it. Because Nigeria is a poor Country Most employers like you think a job is being helpful. When you get a contract from a larger company are they helping you? See an employee as a vendor providing contractual service as a micro vendor and you'll get my point. And no, I don't support the lady (because I don't have all facts) and I know both employees and employers ARE important. Equally so. |

Skankamola: Why are you making noise here? In the so-called 2018 result how many northerners made top 10? In the past 20 years how many northerner ever made the top 10? They dont make it to the top in academics but when it comes to official appointments they are always at the top, and you say thats a normal pattern? My point is that IF they've had the best before then the difference between North & South is NOT in ability/aptitude. Many who read your comments (believe it or not) are not wise enough to know this. They might hold the impression that they are naturally 'duller' than a Southerner. And that's wrong. As for the reason why they aren't USUALLY in the top lists, it's due to priority, motivation & interests. They tilt mostly to religion/ culture in motivation/ interests. And they are skeptical about western education as we know it. Because it is heavily influenced by Western religion. |
