Yeah yeah blame everything on women. Day after after people come in Nairaland to talk about irresponsible fathers who abandoned their kids. How many women have you heard of abandoning their kids or responsibilities towards them? You lot love to blame everything on women even when clearly this issue had nothing to do with the mother stopping him from seeing his kids. By the way many men have also restricted mothers from having access to their children after a divorce so it's bother parties that do that. The difference is mothers will walk the whole country and cry and beg for their kids until someone steps in and helps them That's what real parenting is about. The men will tell themselves don't worry your children will come back to you later. That is the difference
Most of the men who abandon their responsibilities towards their children do so of their own accord. Like the Op's Father, many of them will rather use money to carry girls and drink beer than take care of their children
How is that the mothers fault? It's time for society to hold these men responsible
Trust me, women do walk out on their men-leaving children behind, but not as frequently as men do. You and I have to agree to disagree because you believe that men abandon their children out of choice and carelessness. I`m sure that is not necessarily the case. It`s obvious the more I try to let you see the other side of the argument, the more you interpret that to me some kind of support for irresponsible dads.

This is why such men keep abandoning there responsibilities towards their children since they know how sentimental Africans are angry

Forgive him sure but if you ever give him all the same things you give a real parent who took care of their children all through then what has he learnt?

All I'm learning from this thread is fathers feel free to abandon your kids. You will still reap at the end abi huh

This is why men will keep abandoning their kids
You are making a big mistake! Even married couple do become pregnant unexpectedly, not to talk of youngsters. So what do you think would happen if you impregnate someone that denies you access to your child unless you are ready to marry her? That is where all the problems tend to start from. Of course, OP`s case is different, but just saying that you never know what can happen to you tomorrow, as long as you deal with the opposite sex you are not in total control of anything. I would suggest to you that only crazy people would choose not to be part of their children`s upbringing and those ones are in absolute minority. Until you have witnessed or experienced how women use kids as a bargaining tool, you shouldn`t be judgemental. Men abandoning their kids, really?

You don`t need to worry about those things. Believe it or not, whatever qualities that have made you to get to where you are today, have been given to you by your parents. Truth is, no-one on earth loves you more than your parents. There are people like him who see education as a bonus because they have seen someone that succeeded without education. If you still feel strongly about it, ask him why he didn`t show much interest in your university education. Personally, I wouldn`t do that; would just move on. Good luck

Not so fast! No nation is an island. Nigeria need those investors. Even America with all their wealth have foreing investors investing in their economy. Only one tree will not and cannot make a forest
Capital flight is the pain you must be ready to endure if you want to stop casino capitalism in your country. It`s the madness that started during the Obasanjo era and continued with Jonathan when people believed that foreigners can be relied upon to develop the economy. Look at what happens around the world, once you make a slight adjustment in favour of the domestic economy, casino capitalist would be on the run. They are only happy with blind privatization and liberalization that hand over the economy and the country over to them so that they can turn Nigeria into the type of apartheid soceity that Britain and America have long been. Buhari needs to be steadfast, the investors that are looking for quick bucks would leave, the ones that are genuine investors want a society in which they can operate smoothly and make profits. What the governments need to do is to provide an enabling environment: deal with irregular power supply, let fuel be widely available, provide security and tackle reckless corruption so that genuine investors won`t sweat for the basic amenities needed to do business. Anyone that is not happy with Buhari`s reform should leave our country and go to South Africa where a tiny minority control the economy while the majority ( mainly blacks) eat the crumbs that fall from their table. Foreign investors, my ass!!

His dad`s name is on that list and his dad died in 2012. This is what David Cameron said in 2011:

"Frankly some of these schemes where people are parking huge amounts of money offshore and taking loans back just to minimise their tax rates, is not morally acceptable. It isn`t morally right to do that".

If Putin is guilty because his friends have such arrangements, then Cameron is also guilty
What has since happened to his dad`s scheme after his death? The people of Britain are easy to deceive.

Tkester2:
My man, I honestly wish I can tune it down, but this guy missy89 is such an annoying bastard. I can't honestly figure out how a living being will willingly devout his life to lying and misrepresenting obvious facts.

Just take for example, the leaks today from that dubious so called panama leaks - This is a leak supposedly made by ICIJ (for whatever nonsense that means), the leak has nothing to do with Vladimir Putin, in fact even the so called Putin's associate is not even his direct friend, but, a friend of Putin's friend, and by the way only one person was mentioned that has something remotely directly to do with Putin, and this involves an amount a state governor in the poorest state in a remote country like Nigeria can pull together, just $1b and guess what? Putin's image is being used as a cover page for the panama leaks by the western media.

I ask you isn't that indicative of how low this western junks have sunken in recent years? all in a bid to pull down Putin. You see why I am mortally angry with these idiots who come only to rant nonsense especially that guy missy89. For over 10 years the west has been on top of their voices on how corrupt Putin is, yet in these years of noise making no single acct or asset has been traced to Putin, even the so called Panama report has nothing remotely to do with Putin. This is very Pathetic, and in this midst of all these nonsense, a black ass man, whose very own ass Putin is trying to save will come online to talk nonsense.

I tell you if I were to have a live discussion with any of these western trolls it will not end well between me and them. God damn it! Putin has achieved in Russia what no leader has been able to achieve throughout human history and I challenge you to prove me wrong.

Obama always jumps up and down reminding the US of how he reduced unemployment rate from 10% when he came in 2008 to 4.6% as we speak, and as surprising as that may sound that is all he has to show for the 8years that he was POTUS. Yet even with this achievement he doubled the US corporate debt. In fact, in dollar value he is the most indebted presidency in the US history. Contrasting his miniature achievements with Putin's, here is a man who handled Russia in a state of comatose, unemployment rate was at 48%, hear me, I said 48% in 2000, Russia's corporate debt was at 80%, one the most deadly statistics has it that Russia has a birth deficit of 3%. In fact at that time a joke was circulating in NY where Americans where mocking the Russians of how poor they were and Americans will tease the Russians that they could buy Moscow for $20.

Shockingly by 2007 Putin has brought down the level of unemployment rate in Russia from 48% to 6%, brought down the corporate debt from 78% to 13% (contrast that with Obama who increased the debt by over 50%), brought the birth rate in Russia to a surplus of 4% per annum. increased pension and salaries by over 250% and restarted Russia's role in the world.

In the midst of all these, do you know what western media have to say? shockingly, they said Putin is corrupt, and that he was able to do those because of the spike in energy prices. What NONSENSE! I ask the western media - during those years of 'oil hike' didn't Nigeria, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc witness oil price hike? How come it is only Russia that gained such a tremendous overflow in citizenship welfare, guess what? - the media went dumb

Saudi Arabia has more OPEC quota contribution, yet in terms of GDP PPP Russia under '(corrupt)' Putin is in the 5th place according to world bank figures of 2013, all the way from 21st place in 1999. If according to the western junk media Russia gained such momentum under corrupt Putin because of the spike in energy how come Saudi Arabia is not in the 1st place or at least ahead of Russia in GDP PPP?

With all that Putin has achieved yet he is not arrogant with his achievements, he is still very cool headed, playing the game very smart, has an uttermost respect for GOD unlike Obumber who all he wants is for Africans to be piercing each others anus, something MISSY89 is an expert in. Putin brought back Christianity into Russia's consciousness, revived the spiritual atmosphere in Russia made the %age of church goers in Russia double that of those in the US, and in all these someone will have the effrontery to say that Putin is corrupt, Pathetic.

Not many people know that Putin is a Lawyer and has a Phd and yet some one who has barely finished his Bsc will come online to rant against Putin. Look at the marvelous work the guy did in Syria, and yet these sons of eve of western trolls will come online to rant nonsense.

My man I just want you to reason along with me and see the reason why I am so venomous when it comes to some fools here on nairaland notably Missy89. I am sorry if my abuses on him irritates you, but sometimes seeing his posts i can't help being abusive on him.

I have truly enjoyed the fire-works this thread provided

I hope I`m not alone in thinking that, in a small way, we have done our best to establish who the Super-powers are and how they affect our lives. I`ve always believed that you cannot be described as a Super-power if you are not world`s number one in the economic or military domain. That is why I enjoyed the end of the Cold War till 2003. For the first time in my life-time, America was leading politically, militarily, economically as well as in popular culture. Truly the only indisputable Super-power in the world. Well, that is history now. I think there is a near consensus here that, this is now a multi-polar world led by America, China and Russia.

So what are my fear for the future?

In the first place, I`m excited! There are just too many variables to make the future an exciting one.

Putin is the only name in the world today that sends shivers down the spine of the megalomaniacs in Washington and Europe. But we also know that Russia is a one-man show; it never last for-ever. So what happens after Putin? By the way, we used to say the same thing about Singapore

Interestingly, we have not mentioned Germany once through-out our analyses. A new generation of politicians is gradually taking over in Germany. That generation would not be too pre-occupied with what Adolf Hitler did. Today, Germany is the most important political and economic power in Western Europe. Would she decide to add some military muscle?

And there is ubiquitous China. China may be loved around the world, but is her global ambitions going down well with Japan. Could America choose to trouble China by encouraging Japan to arm herself?

And there is the Middle-East and the lust for the resources there by the West; how is that going to play out in Iran and Russia, for instance?

Hopefully, as this multi-polar world unfold around us, our Africa would not be a consuming by-stander, as usual.

You mean the overrated S-400.Have you heard of David's Sling?

I guess not,do yourself a favor and read up on it.The S-400 has a detection range of 400km.David's Sling has a detection range of 900km using the X-Band radar. While neither of them have shot down a kite from the sky,at least we shouldn't be blind to the details about them.Israel holds the No1 position when it comes to Defense Systems.Only a fool will dispute that.

Russia has the 'largest submarine' and that surmounts to having a very capable Navy o: My goodness, what are you guys fed.No Russian Submarine outmatches the Royal Navy's submarines not to speak of new generation subs from the United States.I know you worship Russia, but read and educate yourself before peddling falsehood.

It is untested that Russia wields unquestionable capabilities with Electronic Counter Measures. We know Russia has upped their game in that area recently same way other militaries have developed resistance technology to ECM on the military crafts.

The F-35 will keep disappointing people like you when you see the first sets in action by the Israeli Air Force later this year.By then you'll point to a Russian fighter jet that can outperform the F-35.

Russia has over 10,000 nukes will never win her a war. With nukes,it's all round assured destruction.Any nuclear power can face Russia with nukes,it matters on who has first strike and who has capabilities of stopping a warhead from it's target. The United States has the capabilities to do so.With anti-ICBM stations around Russia. The US will always have an upper hand as she can successfully shoot down a nuclear warhead even before it leaves Russian airspace.

Three countries possess the world's best anti-ICBM defense systems-The United States, the United Kingdom and Israel.Russian nukes are a guaranteed destruction to any country but those three have capabilities to protect themselves first.

I know we like to amuse ourselves with tales of how powerful Russia has become, but remind yourself,Russia cannot compete with the United States of America in any category. No country can.Remind yourself why America remains the World's only Superpower. It takes more military might to get there. The United States has an Ideological advantage which Russia doesn't share and this will keep getting her favors with her allies around the world.

scully95:
After reading everything and all the comments on here about who is powerful and who is not powerful.

The answer is very simple. America is not the most powerful and has never been. What we have seen after 2nd world war is nothing but U.S cowardice.

Being a coward does not mean you are powerful militarily. In history of all AMerican wars usually with less armed acountries.. It has never faced any country as powerful as Russian.

That alone makes U.S look like a petty military Bully. (Point number 1)

Point 2:

The Fiat regime - Now many people do not understand that the Fiat regime has made the real hardworking people look like poor people while those with maximum credit look like rich people.. In other words, Credit means you are rich, while not having massive credit or just running on capitals and getting good ROI for your cost effective service or product means you re poor.

Now this is what had made U.S look big and made it Bugget also big, defense buggest as well. Running on massive credit and the regime they want to continue or to save cos.. Once Dollar is out, War with less armed coutries is being taken care of like Syria..

The fiat regime will all collasp and it will mean the collasp of an emty economy..

So when people say Biggest economy... base on what ?What is backing it ?? Useless wars with less armed nations ??

ANd because of this FIaT regime, they need to beat both Russia and CHina.. Is it possible ? Again how, by pushing puppets to Encircle Russia and China.. lol. Again another cawardice method employed by the same emty vessels who pronouced itself and even boast about it,as the most powerful. Being powerful is not by attacking. It's by deffending. And even in their brainwash, they say the best form of deffense is to attack.. Total brainwash and opposite to entire real world.

"And nothing has shaped their Empire more than the FIAT. The deformation began in 1971, when the US imposed her Power to re-define the rules of the monetary system for her sole benefit. The ability to print IOU’s in exchange for real value is more clever than theft as we borrow and do not pay back in kind due to inflation. Our enemies, adversaries and vassals must found their financial systems upon the printed dollar which they must purchase with hard earned money. That seizure has financed a vast network of military bases, bribery, assassinations, coup d´états and perpetual war."

When we see debt piled on debt just to prolong the dying system, take note that a few monied men enjoy the fruits of this easy money for a time before defaulting … and with no collateral to make lenders whole, many walk away with nothing more than an impaired credit rating – into a waiting system where debt is harshly devalued.

Monsanto can darken the sunflower harvest in the Ukraine, and Allianz can steal a few tranquil Greek islands, but the ambience is never quite the same as when hard working people had their just rewards, and goodness and charity and kind souls rejoiced – with compassion and cooperation – while loving the narrative of a life written while desiring only the product of their work.

The world this Global Reserve Fiat creates is one of misery and strife where evil and greed feeds upon the spirit, and the world becomes an immoral wasteland of modernity. The worker is discriminated against as all pressure and stress is heaped upon his future, as the law discriminates between debts held as an asset vs. debt held as a liability.

For this reason I beg to say that the real Economy, in reality is China. Biggest Economy in the world..

Last pt..

I have said this before..
When it comes to military hardwares.. Again the U.S build hardware to sell. it builds it, creat an artificial war and uses the military gear just to market to its puppets and its puppets do what they do best buy with either more credit distributed by the fiat regime or little from taxes earned by die hard wrking puppet nation's citizens.. Remember this means just prolonging the death. More debts means prolonging..

While Russia is different.. Russia looks into the current situation, proper warfare and builds it military hardware to combat such threat in reality.. For this reason alone, U.S can nerver be regarded as powerful as RUssia..

Never..
Thanks bro.

Sorry that I created that impression im my post. I`m in total agreement with you on the economy. The psychology of it matters. A creditor is never going to be inferior to his/her debtor, so even if America would not like to hear that, but the fact is that they are living on borrowed money from China today
One clarification is important though, Both after the end of the Second World War and the end of Cold War, America`s Power was to be admired. After the Second World War, America didn`t force herself on Europe, it was Europe that wanted America`s leadership which then set up the ideological competition with the Soviets. Gorbachev chose the suicide that led to the end of the USSR and, from 1989 till the illegal invasion of Iraq, America`s power was total over the world. So if we want to debate anything I think we should not be debating that. Lastly as we continue with this debate, we must not forget that, the fact that America would not be so crazy to the extent of launching an attack on North Korea does not mean that America and North Korea are equal on the military front.

Military expenditure does not necessarily translate into military might. It is a known fact that Russia's Amarta T-14 armoured tank is the best tank so far. The S-400 is the best defense system so far. Russia has the largest submarine in the world. Russia is number one when it comes to ECM development. Russian troops are the most battle ready troops in the world at the moment. The $400USD F-35 Jet is yet to be completed up till today and it has already been declared to be a flop. Two days ago, the Pentagon admitted that the US is behind Russia in terms of reconnaissance. What the US could not achieve in Syria in 4 years, Russia achieved in 6 months. The only reason why I said Russia is on parity with US militarily is because of their "reach difference". The US has over 400 military bases across the globe which gives it the advantage of hitting faster. That does not mean the Russians do not have reach too. In fact, Russia can reach anywhere on our planet. All it takes is a sub and a missile but the closer to the target, the better, which is the one advantage US has over Russia but in a full blown out war, The whole world against Russia cannot defeat Russia. Russia has over 10,000 nukes in their arsenal and its military doctrine permits first strike.
No, please don`t see Syria as a barometer for measuring the balance of power in the world today. Unfortunately, you have pushed me to where it would appear I`m defending America. But it is so unfair to use Syria as our reference point. Western powers have been bombing Syria for ages it has not changed anything because the bombings were sporadic. During this period, Putin was giving all sorts of supports to Assad, didn`t seem to help either. The unfairness I see running through this thread is in what happened next. In our analysis of what happened in Syria we seem to forget the fundamental fact that gave Russia the upper hand.
Putin is smart enough not to confront America, but he didn`t have to. We need to remember that London started the chain of events that led to that victory. David Cameron went to the Parliament to seek a vote in support of military action in Syria and he was defeated. Leaving Obama exposed and isolated. Obama developed cold feet and Americans developed cold feet; everything was pointing to the fact that he would lose in Congress. At that point he resolved not to attack Iraq and used proxy instead. That was the chance Putin had been waiting for and it tell us what we must not forget in our analysis of Syria. Democracy places a serious impediment on a leader and the options available to him/her. Guys Putin does what Putin wants in Russia. He is smart enough to know when to do what. Once London and Washington had been stopped from attacking Syria, Putin had the whole of Syria to himself, so there was no contest from then on. Putin would never commit suicide by engaging in a direct fight with America, trust me it won`t happen. That is his genius, the ability to pick and choose as well as wrong-foot the West when necessary.

America is blessed in all measures, in terms of economic power and political influence America comes first, second and third. However, In terms of Military power I will want to give it to the Russians.

But I think the major area of discourse in this trying times is; can America wield such powers in an emerging multi-polar world? for me, I think with the likes Of Vladimir Putin that will be more of a herculean task for America to wield such influence than at anytime during their nationhood
What you said here go a long way in buttressing the point I was making earlier with ogechieku. The reason why you see Russia as a direct threat to America is because of the mentality and personality of Putin. Ask yourself what used to happen to Russia under Yeltsin. I remember an incident during the Kosovo-Albanian war when Yeltsin deployed troops only to be reminded of what that could do to the funds he was expecting from IMF. He quickly withdrew. It`s still the same Russia with a different leader. A leader`s mentality matters. Russia is not close to America when it comes to their military capabilities.

In all honesty, USA is still the most powerful both militarily and economically, though it's military parity with Russia's is almost the same. And I see Russia overtaking the USA in the next decade.

Economically I think the US scam is still fetching them enough real monies in exchange for worthless dollars. But China has the largest economy in the world right now though this does not necessarily transform into power. Russia on the other hand do have a great potential to become the economic powerhouse of the world. However, the Russians have chosen not to make an aggressive push of their economy but rather will take a slow and steady route to maximize their potentials just as they are doing with their military.
I don`t know whether it`s a mistake you are making inadvertently or that is what you really mean to say that, Russia is close to the US militarily. Truth is, no other country in the world is close to America when it comes to the military. In fact, America is responsible for almost 40% of the world`s military expenditure, so no-one comes close. It is in economy that China is very close to the USA and everything points to the fact that China would soon become the largest economy in the world. Some people actually believe they are already at par.

That, my friend, is the Almighty Russian Topol-M. The nightmare of Amerika grin

Imagine 300 of this beast are fired into the Amerikan East-coast? grin

Well, while the overrated “Amerikan Patriot Missile Air Defence Systems” would be busy struggling to intercept the decoys of the Topol-M; the warheads would have been delivered, turning the entire East-Coast into a state of - otomopoic talidubai with an odoriferous saga kumgaga kuagaga haaaaaaa - meaning nuclear wastelands ! grin
Another rebel leader!
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Is David Cameron So Silent On The Recapture Of Palmyra From ISIS. by ATERI(m): 5:10am On Mar 29, 2016
Appleyard:
Why are they silent? Well, what else do you expect? Russia is cleaning up their mess at the moment, and what the west couldn't do for years, the Syrian army has achieve in a limited time, and of course, its by the air power of Vladimir Putin, God's Elijah to Syria, bringing fire from heaven against the western diabolic designs for Syria. Now you can understand why the silence is deafening. This was the same Cameron's Britain whose planes were caught and shot down by Iraqi forces, as they air-dropped weapons for IS. Of course, the silence is all they can do now. With the Russian success and Assad's position consolidated, the id1otic US puppet-west is looking like a confuse man who neither can go to the right nor left in a given scenario. Admitting and lauding the Syrian army success over IS in Pymira, would conote a tacit failure in their SATANIC policy towards Syria, while at the same time admiting the legitimacy of the Assad government to manage its own affairs, as well as tacitly crediting the Russian engagement in like manner.
On the other hand, downgrading the SAA achievement would have laid bare the real motive of the west engaging in the Syrian Brouhaha, and with the refugees in mind, many of these clowns cum Western governments would be praying for a speedy Syrian success against ISIS, so they can breath in some fresh air, when Syria eventualy become stable and the refugees returns home. But being the puppet they are, they just can't openly allude to these facts! Now you can understand even better, the graveyard silence. The zombies like Cameron are caught in the middle. Especially when you take into consideration the fact that the RAF, and the French air force all went in there, but how many sorties had they flown? Virtually nothing! So you can imagine how shameful they must be feeling now, witnessing the rapid entrance and exit of the Bear's air force, a mission that has proved to be the turning point in the Syria troubled water - Russia, with clear-cut objectives, flying sorties that superceded the entire ones it flown in WW2, as against Britain's intervention, having no clearly defined objectives
in Syria, and with nothing to show for their involvement.

How pathetic and deafening the silence must have been accross Downing Street!

Pathetic puppets.
Nice one!

Haha! This is not going to fit the narrative of Anglo-American politicians and their lazy BBC and CNN.
Foreign AffairsRe: Dutch Prisons Are Closing Because The Country Is So Safe by ATERI(m): 4:58am On Mar 29, 2016
I don`t know whether that has changed, but the private school system used to be very unpopular in The Netherlands. Everybody learns the same thing from nursery to secondary school. Countries that are good are not good for no reason.
America is not alone in this show of shame; their cousins in London imprison more people than any other countries in the EU
When we called them Apartheid society, it wasn`t an exaggeration. They are tough on crime rather than being tough on the causes of crime. The more unequal a society is, the higher its prison population. That is what democratic capitalism is all about.

Let russian go front, china that keeps silent like idiot follows make i dey follow them for back who else.
Rebel leader! Even if the economy puts China in a better position than Russia, I still think China doesn`t have the type of pugnacious mentality needed to take over from America. Their leaders need to be more confrontational than they are doing at present. China needs a Putin ASAP!
