I have given you a hint, you can now read up history by yourself.

History has no fan of no one, and truth is unfair to nobody.
Ogun State was created in 1976 during which Obasanjo- also from Abeokuta area of Ogun State- was Nigeria`s Military Head of State. The Panel that was set up to recommend where the capital of Ogun State should be located recommended Sagamu as the best place for the capital. Sagamu is nearer Ijebu Ode than Abeokuta. What happened next was that the Awujale of Ijebuland made it clear that Sagamu would become Ogun State capital over his dead body. Awujale`s problem with Sagamu was that the Akarigbo of Ijebu Remo had not been given Awujale enough respect, that was the opportunity that Obasanjo seized to take the capital of Ogun State to Abeokuta. So the crying Awujale today only has himself to blame because it`s the prestige of state capital that is making Alake more popular than him. If Awujale had not objected the location of the capital a stone`s throw from Ijebu-Ode, Obasanjo would have accepted it as recommended. Awo had to be indifferent because one of his parents was from Abeokuta while the other was from Ikenne, not very far from Sagamu.
In fact, each time I look at what happened in this area around that time, I become convinced that Nigeria`s problem is deeper than some tribalists tend to portray it. Before this location tussle about Sagamu, Akarigbo was called Akarigbo of Ijebu Remo. As a result of what happened between them, the people of Sagamu and Ijebu Remo removed Ijebu from their title and call their Oba Akarigbo of Remoland and it has remained so till today

That was OBJ's grand plan.
He did that to spite Awo. The Awujale rightly placed the Alake.
I`m not a fan of Obasanjo, but can you tell the whole story fairly?

AreaFada2:
I think it's the issue of young age and not being prepared to be King from birth. It all came suddenly.

He has to learn on the job.

This supremacy talk should have been quelled right from the beginning by a more experienced Ooni.

The politics and diplomacy of kingship are very important skills.
,
What is happening now is that some people believe that younger generation has to take over everything, well the consequences are already upon us.
We shouldn`t forget that this ego trip was started by Alake who thought he needed to categorise Obas in Yorubaland. So any attempt at damage limitation by Ooni is going to contradict what Alake has said. Really, the Obas that were degraded most by that categorisation are not the ones fighting back now because the implication of that categorisation is that Oyekan of Lagos, Olubadan of Ibadan, Owa-Obokun of Ijeshaland, Ataoja of Osogbo,Deji of Akure, Akarigbo of Ijebu Remo and Co are not that important in Yorubaland. Once you say that directly or indirectly, some of them are going to call your bluff. Interestingly, it`s not one of them that has gone public, so we haven`t heard the last of this non-sense
This was what was happening before the emergence of Pa Awo who managed to unite Yorubaland, but there is no Awo around anymore and the institution of kingship has gone cash and carry. Just like our military generals, you have Obas who can`t handle any difficult situation. I was thinking that you need to learn certain skills before you can become an Oba, one of which should be the ability to handle difficult situation/question carefully.
The one they call the new Ooni of Ife today is not just happy to marry a career divorcee, he has described himself as a christian, and that is the person that is going to be the custodian of the culture and religion of Yorubaland. Maybe he is too young to know the difference between being Mayor of Jerusalem and the Ooni of Ife. Too many rubbish kings around

Nigerians are funny. America claimed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. So when does America become a credible source of anything? The military Industrial complex needs government money and that can only be approved by the Congress, so US generals making claims should not surprise anyone. They always see threats, even when none exists

When it was profitable for the last Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuade said he was Ooni of Ile Ife not Ooni of Yorubaland; that was during the June 12 struggle when he wanted contract from Abacha. So only those that are stupid would be taking this lot seriously

PoliticsRe: Blair Was After Personal Business In Nigeria; PMB Said NO - TOM BOWER by ATERI(m): 2:07pm On Mar 02, 2016
You don`t have to be religious to know that there is more to our lives than meet the eye. Therefore, a day like this makes it necessary to give thanks to God for all the Nigerians that didn`t just go abroad, but understand the world. My happiest moments come when I read those Nigerians here calling it the way it is. Sadly, if we talk percentages, only 1% of Nigerians fall into this category.
The Mail Group, The Telegraph and The Sun of London never have anything good to say about Nigeria and Nigerians, but this time around, the Mail Newspaper is serialising a book written by one of them. So this is more about the need to demonise a pro-Europe Tony Blair that Daily Mail has always seen as corrupt and greedy than deliberately present a Nigerian leader in good light
It`s nice because the only thing our people trust and believe is what comes from the white man, so is good that what we have been saying since joining Nairaland are being confirmed
The picture of Buhari that was portrayed in this piece is that of the man we all knew in his first coming in the 80s. However, I said when he went to meet his G7 in Germany with what he called his shopping list that, he had committed a serious blunder. The rest is history
Let me use this opportunity to tell all young students of Government and Politics two things
The West has been using the mass media for the demonisation of Africa for centuries. Nigeria and Nigerians are the worst hit. Until you live abroad you can`t believe this, but to the white man, the mass media is an instrument of war, and they have been able to win that war. Mention Nigeria and make sure crime, dishonesty and corruption is all that you talk about. Do that for 50 years, what you get is a hated and endangered entity. Now, what should have been the reaction of the continent or country treated like this? That is the question I want the younger ones to go and think about.
The second issue is going to define the Nigeria of the future. I said it on the day Buhari was sworn in that, what Buhari is going to do for Nigeria is not what Nigerians are thinking. As at that time, I didn`t know that Buhari would be this disappointing. What I thought was that we would get the Buhari of the 80s, so by the time he left office, Nigerians would be saying, Nigeria has been run by a true leader, but yet we have nothing to show for democracy. Before Buhari, no-one had been President in Nigeria that you can call a natural born leader, so Nigerians have every reason to believe that bad leaders are the problem. With Buhari, Nigerians would have seen that, the problem is not necessarily about leadership. For the first time in the history of this country, the intelligent ones among us would begin to question the full meaning of democracy. To help those that are younger than me, I say that there is nothing call democracy. what the West want through what they call democracy is the stabilization of your country for western exploitation. What that means is that, you have acceptable democracy if every segment of the society is corrupt, people are dying from hunger, elections are never free, security is nowhere to be found, but notwithstanding all of the above your president is handing over the economy to the west- through privatization and liberalization- and legalizing gay marriage. As long as the president is doing the last two, the West would describe you as a democratic government. So democracy is not the same as good government.
Young and old need to start to use our brain to think about what additions and substractions African countries have to make before we can have good government. That is the job after Buhari. May God protect the few chosen ones that would do this unique job for Nigeria.
I think I would be going on holiday for one or two days. Peace

Like father like son. I`m surprised guys only found where his dad called himself Fulani, because he changed ethnicity according to the opportunity on offer. Whenever there was an opportunity in Yorubaland, Olusola Saraki would become a Yoruba man. The following year, he would be fulani. Three years further down he would be fighting somebody for speakership in Enugu. I was a nosy kid all this time, but I can`t forget Bukola Saraki`s dad being a butt of jokes among the elders. Nice to see that Olusola Saraki`s son is as criminal as his dad. All you need to be successful in Nigeria is to be born into one of these criminal families.

What happened to Ese Oruru is something that
happens every other time in cities and villages
of south south, young girls of secondary school
age moving into men's house without their
parents' consent. They don't tell them they are
too young. The only thing they tell them is: "you
can go to anywhere you want but no bring belle
come my house" (lolz). If Ese Oruru was to be
'abducted' by one peter or James and taken for
honeymoon in sambisa forest, we won't get
public outrage. All you'll hear is, 'that is the
power of love' and it only ends as another tale
of two lovers who fell in love and nollywood will
be there to release part one to five. And
activists will be there to bark 'its her choice'.
While we expect that she is returned to her
parents soon, i hope our human rights activists
will also be there to protect her choice and
rights of being a muslim while she is in Bayelsa.
I hope they will also voice for her when she is
18 and expresses her interest to return to her
'husband' in kano.
@activists: always maintain balance in your
quest for justice and fairness to all.
@activists : stand up against evils happening
within your immediate community and not
always waiting to bark when 'outsiders' commit
those evils against 'your own'. Charity begins at
home.
@journalists : be balanced in your reports and
stop the hypocrisy ;even when you heard the
audio recording of the girl, you kept reporting
that she was kidnapped, abducted, forcefully
converted and forcefully married off
@general public : learn to be a JUDGE, every
good judge will always listen to BOTH parties
before taking a stance.

Those who have NOTHING would do whatever they have to do to survive. We can continue with the holier-than-thou sermon, especially if you are one of those that believe in casino capitalism that destroys and disown society. Not until we can look beyond human beings like this and begin to look at politicians that accummulate wealth for personal use, shall we be closer to an ideal society. Society gets from its people what society gives to its people. Here we are, expecting humanity from those that we have abandoned from birth, it doesn`t work like that.
