You are 100% right. The streets are atrocious. I have personally walked these streets and they are terrible. |
bebe2: DAT ALSO MEANS THESE BODIES WILL NOT DECAY O, ![]() Some countries are developing plans to travel to other planets with the expectation of discovering certain valuable minerals etc. They are also looking at terraforming too. We are still talking about money rituals Also, didnt ancient Carthage perform child and human sacrifice during times of distress? This is nothing new. |
Unluvable*:So if Obi met both together, how would he choose between the two? |
Women really get it rough on this issue. This is one of the reasons I appreciate being a man and not the other way round. For men there is little or no marital pressure. You can get married at 50 or even never at all. Few people care. And there will always be lots of suitors as long as the finances are good. For women the pressure is enormous and gets worse with age. Even if the lady in question has been with her partner for over 15 years people treat her with no regard until they marry and some even feel he is "fair game". Hopefully with time the dichotomy will address itself. |
I dunno man. It seems like a really complicated situation. She might even be lying about the 12 men she claimed earlier. What will you do if you and her get back together and then you find out she has been with over 30 guys? Will you just dump her again? If you have such an issue with her past partners then maybe look for a virgin. |
sigmond: experience they say is the best teacher, guys have you ever been cheated on by your wife/girl when you were faithful to her and did it hurt?. Your experiences are welcomeHurt like hell. But when it happens multiple times you develop a sort of interest in such things ![]() |
utumunta: I will smile and welcome him, and when he is leaving, she should just pack her things and follow him! I will not disrespect my marriage by inviting my ex into my home and expect my wife to know better! How long do you intend to stay married for? poshdiva: The question is this...what is your business with your EX? Your EX is in your past! Let him or her remain there. Why bring them into your life again? So what would you do if your husband did the same thing? |
@ OP What about "bedroom power"? Did you account for that in your detailed equations and analogy? Do you not think that it plays a role in attaining and even holding partners? What about the fluidity within a relationship? Some partners date up but are more likely to stick to their partner if their social or financial status changes... other are not. How can we tell which will stay and which will leave? |
What about the oil industry? Chemical engineers are really doing well there. Maybe try and do some training courses/certifications to better acquaint yourself with the industry or do a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering. Then try and seek employment. The upstream is a very vibrant and growing sector within Nigeria. There are lots of new local companies hiring in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. Visit oil and gas websites to look into the best certifications for quick employment. Familiarise yourself with oil and gas software and also Chemical engineering software (like Hysys, Pipesim etc) as this can also be a bonus. |
NigerianAsshole: This debate is really uncalled for. The amount of money a partner brings to the house is inversely proportional to the amount of chores you are entitled to. If your husband brings 100% of the money, then be ready to execute 100% of the chores. If you contribute 50% of the money then your husby should be ready to also execute 50% of the chores. #endofdebateMaybe the 70-30 rule. If the man earns 60% or greater and the woman 40% or less then she will most likely do most of the chores. If it is the reverse then the man will most likely do most of the chores. If they fall into the 60-40 bracket (either way) then the chores are shared based on convenience etc. |
striktlymi: And where did you get that from? The bible ![]() |
striktlymi: striktlymi: Does it matter what the present day Jew think? The promise was that Abraham would be the Father of a multitude of Nations and not just to the Nation of Israel...note that when God says 'multitude of nations', it shouldn't be mistaken to mean that everyone in a nation would embrace him as father. These were the biblical Jews too. They crucified him during biblical times. If it meant the three faiths then how were the Jews Gods chosen people? Does this also apply to Islam as they hail from Abraham too? striktlymi: Now this is quite funny! Are you saying that because presently there is no archaeological backing therefore it did not happen? Why does this kind of argument sound so familiar? No historical information too. A defeat that severe would have an impact on them. This would lead to other consequences. Investigate Manzikert, Teutoberg forest, Lepanto, Actium and other major defeats. There is always a follow on consequence of such defeats that are far more visible and noticeable. I will however concede that the defeat may have taken place but it is highly unlikely. striktlymi: Is the thread about genocide or conquest? Both. God is almighty so genocide is unnecessary. They can be defeated by other means. So why genocide? If God instructed them to conquer the world in that manner how would they be any different to the rise of Islam that swallow many a nation in violence? striktlymi: There is no way you can disprove that they did not!I agree but logic, historic records and other non biblical sources do not highlight any such victory. It is possible but unlikely. let us not digress ![]() striktlymi: I don't think I mentioned anything about ethnic cleansing.I mentioned a verse where God instructed the slaughter of all the tribes down to their women and children. That is ethnic cleansing. striktlymi: I am getting quite confused now! Is the thread about Christian conquest, genocide or about the conquest of the Bible Israelites?Answer the question. I am referring to the fact that the biblical Israelites had Gods backing in their conquests. I would like to know if you feel that the European Christian Nations and the Byzantines (also Christian) expanded and became great according to Gods will and plan. Not too hard a question. You either know or you don't know. If you know then state why it is so? |
striktlymi: Nope!!! There is a difference between divine rules and man-made rules...we do well to separate these two as far as Catholic Christianity is concerned. All rules in the bible are divine rules. As the rules are open to varied interpretation, are complex and are based off many conflicting and varied biblical books it can be too complicated for the "average man" to know which is which. They therefore rely on their leaders for this information. |
leffects: still fresh. So what happens to all the "ugly virgins"? Why are they also ugly? |
MsDarkSkin: Good insight. There is no denying that God also created evil.Gulp. Why didnt God just "uncreate" evil? |
Billyonaire: It is folly to worship dead persons. It is ignorance that breeds that practice. The dead are not in anyway greater than the living. I used that 'prepare a place' connotation to drive home a point, that there are diverse heavens with diverse prophets, seers and Gods. When you 'remember' that we all where 'somewhere' before birth, and will go 'same somewhere' when we drop this physical body, then life is defined. Life is just a struggle for lessons and experiences that we need to live the 'afterlife'. We came here for a reason'. Whether you are atheist or theist today, it dont matter in the greater cosmic plan, cos when you return back from school of life, it will finally dawn on you, if you passed through school and school passed through you or you just pass through school and school never passed through you.Ok.... so what exactly do you believe in? Are you a pantheist? |
dorox: Yes I am.Good. Plenty of juicy topics to discuss... musKeeto: He is. One who doesn't turn logic on its head. Give him a chance.I guessed as much ![]() |
Add prayer mantle, blood of Jesus (or ribena ), anointing oil to the list. |
dorox: I still remember how shocked I was some years ago when a friend of mine told me that perhaps God created evil, then my initial shock slowly turned to dismay when I realised that his argument was difficult to refute.I look forward to your response ![]() Are you Christian? |
striktlymi: Actually I can...I say it boldly that even in Christendom we have many corrupt individuals but this does not mean it is wrong to be a Christian...Yes but in Christendom, the leaders decide doctrine. People live according to these believing they are right, just and the word of God... even if it favours ethnic cleansing ![]() |
Pastor Olu T: Yes just to provoke comments, but read my preceding posts pls to get to know my intentionsIf you feel more christian topics are required then why dont you and your buddies post some for discussion? That might work. |
ooman: Not very great, however yahweh stole other peoples land for them on which they settled and built their greatest empire when a man who died an apatheist/agnostic, Solomon, ruled after which they deteriorated when other dumb yahweh worshiping iddiots ruled againYes, he was also a vassal to Egypt at the time and was very close to many other nations in the area. |
ifeness: They were never great. They copied most great stories of the bible from their neighbors. The 10 commandment was originally from the book of the dead. Story of Noah was a story from the "Epic of Gilgamesh", Adam and Eve story from the book of ENKIDU etc.... To crown it up they are the most racist race on the planet.Precisely. Similar stories existed prior to theirs. |
Pastor Olu T: I understand that sir and can read so well!Okay..... just, your topic highlighted otherwise ![]() |
striktlymi: LWKMD!!! Unless you want to be exiled from that section...those topics will definitely be offensive, don't you think?Gulp.... ![]() striktlymi: Could be but what exactly is this greatness that was promised? It really has little or nothing to do with winning battles because it is demonstrated in Sacred scriptures that God even suffered the Israelites to loose a number of battles when they disobey his commands. Not according to the Jews . Also Jesus is technically the father of Christianity and the inspiration for Islam. But the Jews never recognized him. Also, how do we know God was referring to all the Abrahamic faiths when He said those words? It sounded more like his descendants not the whole world. When did Christians and Muslims become a nation?striktlymi: Yep! If he did, Egypt would have been conquered in those days...remember that the armies of the Egyptians were conquered at the Red sea which is an indication of how easy it would have been if God had given the command.Dont be naive... there are no historical or archaelogical facts to support the destruction of their army. If their army was destroyed, the Israelites would have been the least of their problems. Also, Israel were vassals to Egypt for a great deal of time and then became vassals to the Hittites after the battle of Kadesh. striktlymi: Why do I get this feeling that you are trying to derail your thread by sneaking in this topic? If you want to talk about greatness in terms of conquering Nations (which involves blood shed by the way) let's talk about it but if it is about genocide then let a new thread be created my broYes, I am trying to state that God instructed them to establish their nation through genocide. So when did it become UNACCEPTABLE to commit genocide according to Christianity? striktlymi: Not exactly! They conquered the Nations God instructed them to! Remember that Egypt was one of the big Nations you mentioned in the OP and they had their fair share of defeat when they tried to m*ss with the Israelites.Did they? I doubt it. In the bible maybe but not historically. They had Israel as a vassal a great period before and after the Hittite invasions... possibly up to the Babylonian invasion. striktlymi: Ethnic cleansing or conquering Nations? Your choose!Read that verse... it is ethnic cleansing at its worst. It would be considered a war crime under the United Nations Human Rights Act, The Geneva Conventions on war and so many other acts etc. striktlymi: Whatever is done in the spirit of right conscience can never be tagged as a sin by God. Please before you quote me, understand what I mean, then you can quote me.Ok. So answer the question. Or dont. Your choice... what about Christian kingdoms that became great by dominating other groups like the Byzantines and the Western Europeans? Was that not part of Gods plan or were they acting independent of Gods wishes? |
Logicboy03: Yahweh get liver? Genghis Khan was a real god of war. They tried it but realised it took more than chants and offerings to win battles. |
striktlymi: I believe you know why!Because we have CORRUPT leaders. You cant say the same about the leaders of Christendom.... oooops You can ![]() |
Logicboy03: LOL......furthermore, christians like Ihe and Anony twist the bible to say that it was necessary for god to kill those people.Interesting.... why werent they instructed to go after the bigger kingdoms and forge a massive empire like Genghis Khan? |
striktlymi: Lol!!! Na you go run come back ni after team Islam show you their new moves striktlymi: Hmmm...clearly another topic!Could be but it buttresses my point that they could have gone all Napoleon on the world and ended up truly great. Instead we got a "supposedly great" kingdom that did nothing in its greatest era other than war with smaller tribes and get dominated by the bigger kingdoms. striktlymi: Now we are getting to the crux of the matter...1) Ok. So God did not instruct them to conqueur Egypt. I see. 2) Yes and also ethnically cleansed them too. Bear in mind these Hittites are different to the actual Hittites in the Battle of Kadesh (The Empire). These Hittites were one of the tribes of Canaan. So they conquered the smaller, easy kingdoms and avoided the larger nations. God is Great ![]() Also, if they can ethnically cleanse these nations they can ethnically cleanse any nation on Earth providing God gives the command. striktlymi: Yes my dear Atheist, the question seem simple but inherently difficult. The simple reason why it is difficult is that you are asking me to know the mind of God at those times and also decipher the intent of those people when they went about their conquest. This is rather difficult!Ok. So how can we know if anything is right or wrong according to God? Take that method and apply it to the expansion of these kingdoms into massive global empires. Were they expanding according to Gods plan and will? Try and answer it. Most Christians prefer to duck and dive at this and similar questions. |
striktlymi: I bet if I wrote an essay about my first day on nairaland, in my dialect, there will be various versions of that essay; as many we have men who can 'nack big big Engrish'.Agreed. But then why have these not been compiled to form one STANDARD bible? So many versions with different books in them. Even the canon books are somewhat slightly different in interpretations. |
mumumugu: Very greatHow great could they have been if they made no direct impact on their region and were dominated and taken into exile... they couldnt even dominate the Egyptians who enslaved them before they were freed from bondage. |
