Leave family, they won't die... Go and hustle. The one wey die no wan survive before. Dem no dey solve family problem finish. You need get mind not to look uche face and focus on yourself for now. It's only when you've saved yourself that you can save others. So my advice is, MOVE OUT... And be supporting them once once. Maybe just rent or part of it for now. Don't concern so much with their day to day survival. You need some bits of selfishness. Peace! |
It's too late. Cos it seems you've been subtly promising to see him instead of giving him emotional excuses that will make him to pity you. You have to rudely refuse and threaten him at this point and get video or audio evidence. Just now if you post lecturer on social media, the school will be running helter skelter. Before now, I would have advised her to be very serous with her studies and wise as a serpent around the so called lecturer. When the advances started, she will place him as a father figure. Tell him you're his daughter and looking up to him. If he's relentless, she should also be relentless in giving him emotional excuses. You're taking care of your mother, someone is sick that she staking care of. Church activities. And don't be playing or laughing too much around him. Miss and don't return his calls. Do all his assignments promptly and attend clases. Never visit him at the office alone or spend too much time there. You can offer him alternatives like buy fruit juice and expensive cookies for him to give to his kids. His heart will begin to mellow. Just find a way to escape... Always escape! It's better you graduate as 'my runaway girlfriend or wife' than for a lecturer to collect his share from you. You won't make good grades still. |
ChybuzzDD:So many drugs have deleterious side effects. Learnt about this tinnitus when I self medicated on ibuprofen for a while due to a severe stiff neck. Hard to stop immediately I started hearing this continuous ringing in my ears. It still come and go but not severe. Once I had this strange left chest pains, shortness of breathe and completely lost ability to cough or sneeze for over 2 months. I placed on some antibiotics and diclofenac prescribed by a doctor and I was unknowingly taking coffee too. For 3 days in a row, I'll be on my desk at the office and become very dizzy like the whole room turning in my eyes and head while I stay motionless grasping the chair. I was so afraid until a simple Google search saved me. I had to discontinue coffee immediately until I completed my medication. Visited 2 hospitals then, had x-ray and all. And imagine all these happening when I just lost 2 sisters within 3 months. I couldn't tell my family what I was passing through. Bottomline, always know the drugs you're given and why. Ask and research about the possible side effects too. And avoid self medication by all means. Doctors have saved and destroyed lots of lives too, like the op and my late sis via wrong blood transfusion. Yet we're stuck with them. |
I don't understand Stanbic and their very low rates now. I topped up my account 2 days ago and it's yet to reflect. This their mumulity don dey too much. |
shopwiser:The supposedly independent institutions where made so by the constitution and a legislative act. The powers to interpret such laws lies with the Supreme Court. And the SC didn't veto the powers of the CBN. But the main thing in the judgement is reasonably long enough time for the currency change. They only interpreted the laws in this case as there's a dispute. Regardless of the fact that they've been abysmal in various cases, the SC is still the highest authority in interpreting the laws and it's final decision is the law, as well. ![]() |
shopwiser:If you and your folks are educated you'll know the right thing for everyone to do is to obey the Supreme Court. No further directive from FG or CBN can go against that. They can never come out to say they won't comply. That's what the banks know and wanted to do. But the rejection of a legal currency by illiterate people who don't know it's even in their rights to not just obey but subtly enforce the law is keeping everyone in this quagmire. |

PeterObi4LP:After voting you stay some meters away from the polling booth. Only INEC staff and party agents are permitted to inspect and sign of result sheets before they're captured and transmitted. It's a photo of the certified result sheet that's transmitted. |
What's the worth of this scholarship sef... In terms of monthly stipend especially for a family man going to the UK? |
DesChyko:What do you know. I'm sure you haven't been in any IVM before. |
One international company once banned contractors from bringing Innoson trucks their sites for failure to provide, I think, crash tests results. Don't know if Innoson has complied with that now. |
Most of the challenges with the new naira notes is the result of our general behavior as Nigerians. Greed and mumurity (in Wike's voice). |
If you read Obi manifestó, you'll see that he's only on track to see through the agreement already signed between FG-Siemens to get power to 25,000 MGW by 2025. So, Obi isn't offering anything new. The FG power projects, including solar are already in motion. |
Kobonaire234:Though her femur was broken, she wasn't immobilized apart from they initially trying to use weights to stretch and align the leg. She's already moving with the other leg with assistance. This was someone with no prior crisis nor was she battling for her life. She's already in the theater before they realised there's no enough blood and none in the bank before they hurriedly brought one but the consultant informed them it still won't be enough and moved the suggery by 2 days. The blood was then returned and money refunded. But the other doc (allegedly on nysc) came to ward and requested for the blood to be brought back to start infusion and my sister started reacting, vibrating immediately. The nurses gave her some injections (MD claimed normal protocol for adverse blood reaction) and reconnected the blood instead of taking it back for proper screening. The whole episode started all over before they disconnected it. And that was the beginning of the end. My sister became very restless as if her heart was burning, shaking and feverish, her bp became very low, crying till she died. No one slept through the night. They began running several tests which all came out negative. I wish I knew how grave that ill fated transfusion was. Cos I spoke with the MD and her to calm her down 2hrs before she passed. All these happened after we've been told she'll be discharged a week after suggery and she herself was so happy. This was someone you won't even know was on a sick bed when talking with her on call and video, joking and making both the doctors and people in the ward to laugh. A day to the transfusion she was even asking the family group chat if we should listen to people telling my mum to go native or not but I believed suggery would be the best. We were providing every thing they requested for with speed of light thinking that we're doing the right thing though my strong instinct was to move her to another hospital after like 3 days. Omo naija failed us. No just take your person go govt or teaching hospital. You go waka waka till you mad. Na my mum dey even carry blood from lab go theater. Smh. Regardless, I still love naija doctors and I've had cause to visit and still engage with them as usual. But don't expect same treatment from every family. |
I'm not in support of attacking doctors and medical professionals. If anything I have high regards for them but sometimes they and hospitals can frustrate patients and their families with their unprofessional conducts. Doctors at Ughelli central hospital killed my sister last Oct with wrong blood transfusion just for a leg suggery. She couldn't even make the suggery again and they can't explain how someone who's been stable for the 3rd week running after an accident will start battling for her life and passed on within 24 hours of the wrong blood transfusion by an NYSC doctor and nurses. I have every reason to believe a cover up since the pupported panel investigating it hasn't come up with anything since then. Like even after everything they'll want you to make trouble before they follow due process. This is Nigeria. |

Control7:I won't advise any EH to be hopeful. Just assume it will be a miracle if you ever get called. GTs are resuming Nov. Those I know are purely merit (based on class of degree, CGPA and testmi scores). I'm EH too but I'm no longer where I used to be and NCDMB may not be better. Cheers! |
Jesusviper:250k for just one term o. And some people want to be paying 20k per year for uni. Lol ![]() |
Unless you just wanna forfiet your pay, forget whatever notice period written on your employment letter. I have given a day, 2 weeks and a month notice before. I won't give any employer more than 30 days notice unless the job I'm transitioning to gives me up to 3 months to resume. Some do depending on the role you're entering. In Nigeria, notice period is one day if you're under probation or worked for a period of three months or less; one week for more than three months but less than two years of service; two weeks for two to five years of service and one month for five or more years. However, you might lose some employment benefits if you don't give the required notice in your contract. You employer is obligated to pay anything owed and salary for the period worked till your effective termination date. |
I bet Wike have siphoned more Rivers State money using this aircraft than Odili who purchased it or Ameachi who took it to Germany for maintenance. Yeye dey smell. ![]() |

That meat is equivalent to what I bought for 1500 in last weekend and it's cow tail that's more expensive. I don't like cow meat though so the few times I go for the torso, cow tail or cow head parts. I prefer goat meat and the cheaper chicken at 2-2.2k per Kg. I can't do without fish (fresh or smoked scumbia, panla, catfish) though its expensive. That's what always shoot my protein budget to 3-4k to give richness to the food. You dey cook like big man. Make I give you small tips sha: Go to the open markets and learn how to bargain well. Don't price meat especially cow meat. Ask the seller to cut 1k or 1.5k portion for you with a stern warning that you'll walk away if he doesn't do it well. You can ask for another portion if you like or go to another seller. ![]() For the Kings oil, I have been going for refill since it was 800 per litre to now 1500. There are other products that go for 1.2 to 1.3k per litre. Times are hard, man must be more circumspect. ![]() |

Delta state had only 4 last year (3 male, 1 female) for PhD where neighbouring Edo and Anambra had 5 or 6. I couldn't understand the rationale. I hope they do better this time Liebermann: |
No lie here... As for me, it's God's grace and Inshallah. I had a great interview last year and a more fantastic one this year. Hope they don't give a whole Delta only 4 slots again this year when 1 is already reserved for a female candidate. I heard of someone who got the PhD on the 4th attempt. I don weak by this 3rd time already. So, this is my last shot. #WeMove. Liebermann: |
Being arrested or detained doesn't mean that you've committed a crime. If you aided criminals, investigation must prove that you knowingly did that. You'll only suffer for a while until you're cleared. Crypto and POS operators should be more careful though so you don't answer for crimes you inadvertently became a conduit for. |
PTDF Matters, eh... |
