Christianity EtcRe: Are Women Preachers Allowed In The Church? by athorello(m): 3:31pm On Sep 09, 2018
I used to have a woman Pastor in my local rccg who won't touch our head during anointing. I don't usually like someone laying his hands on me but I particularly avoid female ministers. I will quickly leave the queue and join the one with a male pasta... Sometimes during special services with invited guests I don't know, I avoid laying of hands part.
PoliticsRe: Lawyers, Others Blast Buhari On Rule Of Law Remarks by athorello(m): 1:35pm On Aug 28, 2018
Jeezuzpick:
But when the courts make their rulings the executive can ignore then, right? Because that's what this is all about o.

Are you insinuating that the law supports corruption and should be set aside to properly "fight" corruption?

Make your point already!
If you follow my logic and the context of rule of law arguments, you should know that what we're talking about pertains more to individual rights.
PoliticsRe: Lawyers, Others Blast Buhari On Rule Of Law Remarks by athorello(m): 10:28am On Aug 28, 2018
Jeezuzpick:
That's why Nigeria is a shithole.

Who interprets national interest?

Is it not the laws and constitution that stipulates what is in national interest?

Do you realise the danger of this assertion?

Buhari will suspend rule of law because of what he believes is national interest without recourse to the constitution and the courts for proper interpretation and clarification.

A list of people who did just that includes Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, etc.

Google properly o.
It's subject to interpretation of the courts in this case the Supreme Court by a competent judge.

We don't cry foul when laws and interpretations impact commoners but we're always quick to join the bandwagon to Wail when the plundering elites are encumbered.
PoliticsRe: Lawyers, Others Blast Buhari On Rule Of Law Remarks by athorello(m): 10:19am On Aug 28, 2018
No government will put the rule of law above national interest (national security). That's why we remand criminals yet convicted. That's why I support the freezing of assets of corrupt people under investigation/prosecution. Fighting our myriads of problems requires structures and strong policies.

This lifeless cow appears to have more foresight than y'all.

Inconsequential... Being number 1- 5 of some companies is better than many entrepreneur$hit. Not every one has that calling. And besides, who said he can't learn more in his career to become a future mogul or investor.

nathanjohn2808:
Some of you must have seen my previous post on how I lost several jobs, even after reaching final stage.
https://www.nairaland.com/4603604/reached-final-stages-3-major
After I posted this, I reached final stages of two more and it looked so sure but then again, I got rejection mail. Sometimes, the interviewers will tell me how impressed they were but still reject me.
I was getting fed up. Every single week for three months, I would travel for one interview or the other, sometimes, two in a day and it all comes down to nothing.
But I noticed a trend in my application, the companies just kept getting bigger, if a smaller company rejects me today, a bigger one will call me for interview and it just kept increasing until the best I applied. I reached final stage and was scared I will be rejected just like the others but eventually got accepted to the glory of God.

Let me give you my stats so you will understand better.

More than 50 applications
Over 30 assessment tests in 3 months
About 25 interviews in the 3 months
Over 100k spent in transport (for an unemployed somebody, this is huge)
Reached final stages for 6
Got one

So never give up, life may be directing you, to me, I felt they were all preparing me for my dream job, and hell yea they were. People were getting concerned for me, how I was able to manage seeing rejections every single week but still dress up and go for just another interview with same enthusiasm. But after each rejection I just smile and say, 'that was not meant for me, it was just preparatory class' and the mindset worked.
Thank God.

Never give up, never lose faith.
Real G... You grinded your a$$ for this. Congrats. The good thing is that you didn't give up. Did I hear Lucky?

While you are it, please encourage your immediate community to get their PVC as well.

I think I need this PVC now, at least as a form of ID. Or how could someone keep some of the teeming young population hopelessly hopeful for months nowhuh ? Those folks who can't make anything move should be the definition of lazy. I'm glad to have moved on... Peace!
FamilyRe: What Do You Do To A Father Who Batters And HumiliatesYour Mum In Front Of You? by athorello(m): 7:18am On Apr 12, 2018
If only you had killer instincts growing up. Since I was 6 or 7, dad (1953-2016) vowed he'll never hit my mum again cos of the way I rushed him when he did back then. Dad also stopped smoking marijuana or openly so for his family (though he confided in me on to occasions, his uncle's death, and my granny's death). I almost killed a relation back in 2004 when she attacked my mum who was sitting down and pregnant. I hit her head with the cover of those big pots for cooking party jorrof and it happened within the twinkle of an eye. I don't fight and I hardly threaten anybody because the blow might go before the threat. 2013 I pushed a guy and he almost fell into one of those Benin gutters. The guy was harrasing a lady I never knew and never seen since then. I don't know who the guy was though he was putting on a military cap and he assured me I have entered one chance that day. He made calls to some nearby soldier men and seized me. Okay, I seized him two o... The crowd had gathered, some begging him on my behalf, some begging me to beg him(same experience with some policemen, a story for another day). Lo and behold two soldiers came with their guns and I immediately reach to my bag, brought out my NYSC cap and put it on. We ended judging the matter and shaking hands. Lol.

So, bros... I didn't say you should beat your father o. You only have to man up to him. When I got older, I used to tell or even shout at mum to stop talking to dad like dad or just to stop complaining, even ask her to go into her room. My dad can get enraged but he won't react no matter what.

CelebritiesRe: Julius Agwu Visits His Mother In The Farm (Photos) by athorello(m): 9:30pm On Apr 03, 2018
Abeg, I don visit this people house for their village. Had an interesting conversation about Nigerian politics with the dad. Na over humbleness. Don't blame old people. Cars dey compound sef wey old man no gree drive. Old man sef being a retired senior civil servant sef no suppose too loyal like that. With brand new houses and cars, some earning more money old man is super humble, sociable and friendly. Just like my granny of blessed memory, this granny will be thinking she'll die the day they stop her from going to her fam. I also remember a friend's granny who passed recently. She's hardly stopped going to farm. Till point of death she refused to live with them and be taken care of, preferring her very humble abode.
Stay, free oldies and embrace life like them... In fact, we're supposed to be closer to them. Lucky you if you still have them.

This is one of the reason the elder always advise intending wife, husband or anyone that have an event ahead of them to stop moving around atleast 3 days before the event. Even in those days, a month to wedding, the bride will not be allowed to go to anywhere except bathroom or rest room.

Wish you speedy recovery and HML
That's so true back in the days. Like in Eleme culture it's called fattening room, where the young girl is not allowed to do anything and fed with the intention of letting her add some flesh for the hubby.
Let's always apply wisdom.

Worst experience so far but God will help me to move on. Wasted funds, time and money. After I used test to shine I still missed interview because of misinformation and poor information management. Why move interviews to Warri without duly informing everyone concerned, not like we're all staying at the campus? All concerned with this mismanagement did not try at all. And it's a shame.

"Various locations"? So AC would now be done at plenty more locations other than Lagos like we all did in last years AC?

See ojoro o! grin So you guys would not travel from all over Nigeria all to Lagos as usual?

Well, its understandable, that should make up for the stress and anxiety they put AC hopefuls through while waiting for months.
You're correct. I recall last time they called they asked for our location.

I wish those rounding up TS this week a smooth transition to the next level and success to incoming TS guys and all AC hopefuls. Cheers y'all.
