My sister is 26 years and a graduate of Statistics from a federal university in the South East. There is an issue, more like a blessing. She had been writing aptitude tests since and failing but something remarkable is happening this year. She has been passing all the graduate trainee tests and interviews this year. She is at the final stage of Cerdar group, Stanbic, Meristem and Oilserv graduate trainee program. Just waiting for offer letters. She got an offer into Wema bank graduate trainee but rejected it because of 2 years bond. She is currently in Gt Bank graduate training school.

The issue is that KPMG just invited her for their test which is physical on Saturday. The Gt bank program runs from Monday-Saturday. I have been trying so hard to convince her to take take permission from the tutors at Gtb and go to write the KPMG test. She refused that she does not like Accounting as she read Statistics but she was open to it before this year and had been writing tests of different audit firms. I prefer KPMG to Stanbic and GT and want her to give it a shot.

She is 26 and this is her last chance at any graduate trainee program. Please what do you guys think? She is confused too.

Meristem ( Waiting for offer letter)
Stanbic ( Waiting for offer letter)

Which among the above listed is the better choice for a graduate of statistics and is the KPMG test worth taking the risk. Please I need opinions from Nairalanders as I told her to allow me take my time to think about it.

Anyone who think he has to kill a human for a God in this age is still barbaric.

We came blame the dead all we want and even wish she held her peace. However, her killers are the ones most culpable for first instigating her outburst or whatever happened in the whatsApp group.

I see no place where she categorically insulted their God or prophet as she only generally referred to the stuff there're posting as nonesense (which is actually right). It is nonesense to do what you think is right at the wrong time and wrong avenue, thus constituting yourself a nuisance to others. But because they're majority, they think they can have their way. Maybe they're not wise enough to established rules of engagement or they unrepentantly flouted the rules.

That said, all religions must learn to live with mutual respect and to tolerate one another. Those going against the rules of engagement should be called out and appropriately sanctioned, NOT KILLED.

It is always one Christian saying some derogatory remark about Islam/Muslim before all these acts will surface. Why can't the Christians educate each other more on not insulting other beliefs, it's as simple as that. You won't see Muslims insulting Jesus (Peace be upon him) or the churches, we argue on the facts concerning religion but won't even insult because we believe everyone has right to his belief.

I've been in some WhatsApp groups too. People post things that are not relevant to the basis of such groups and it's normal, the best is one should just avoid it. Like you said "barbaric" , when you find yourself in such situation, why instigating then in negative ways.

Let's learn to tolerate/have a discussion without using insulting or derogatory words/remarks.

Did my NYSC in Anambra and I was even called terrorist, Boko Haram right to my face but I smiled and concluded that the genesis of such is ignorance. Got close to them and explained few things to some of them and we are good friends today. But our problem has always been generalizing issues and closing our eyes to truth.

Truth be told, why insult the prophet of a religion when you can be yourself and stay off their activities. When you refuse to respect your fellow man how do you want to be respect by such man.

Why can't Muslim in a class or school WhatsApp group respect the fact that there are Christians and others in the group?
Civilised people know that there's time and place for everything. Religion, politics, sports and other opinionated discuss should be limited or moderated in formal settings. Majority of Nigerians are ignoramuses.

However, barbaric people think they have to fight and kill for their Allah when others don't follow their ways instead of using that energy to fight for good leaders and better life.

And the lady didn't call of any wedding. The church most likely decided not to wed them in Holy matrimony because she's pregnant again at the moment. As such the wedding isn't supposed to hold as planned. They can continue with their marriage celebration and the church will bless them if they have no shame. Or the church will arrange to bless them at a later time.
And that doesn't absolves the man of potential domestic abuse of the woman until will hear from the neighbours/umunna.

As a banker, you'll get the cheapest cost of borrowing from your bank.
Peole like the Dangotes and Otedolas also get cheap loans.
Then staff of multinationals Like ExxonMobil, Shell, etc.
Followed by Regular employed staff of other notable companies/recognised business people.
Lastly Civil servants
Market women/traders should go deal with MFBs.

The loan is very enticing to take if you have a well thought out venture to use it for not MBA. cry

Banking wasn't really my thing but I worked with first bank for 3 months after 3 months of TS. I have guys working in various banks too (branches, Head offices and other back offices). It was a very good experience and ever since then I've been an advocate for bank jobs especially to those who jettison them. No need wasting your time and getting old. If you're young and have 2.1 and above, kick-start your career. Save money to pursue other life dreams, at least Canada can be achieved in 3 to 5 years.

P/S1: Some head office roles are soft work but in my opinion, the meat of banking is marketing (RMs in retail, commercial or coperate). You get more bonuses, networks, know about business of your customers and learn about managing money/investments, plus some time to run your stuff.

P/S2: Generally, entry roles in financial services, audit, insurance, etc can be get way roles so young graduates of all disciplines shouldn't undermine them. Take that marketing/sales position. At least, in 3 to 12 months you would have learnt one or two things and improve your life.

I sometimes yearn to have the spiritual encounter or understanding that some claim to have.

I love church, I like the socializing and practical sermons and Bible lessons. However, I find myself critiquing sermons, Bible passages, and miracle stories a lot. Several people have asked me why I even go to church because I don't fully believe in prayers, grace grace people, village people, witches and wizards, etc.

So, you can go to church and still be at peace with yourself and your beliefs.

Anyway, grace brought us this far (not tfare). cool

Crazy rules... I get -ve PCR and screened at the airport before departing. I get screened again at my destination, no quarantine... I stay 2 weeks, on return I get another -ve PCR at departing country, follow all screening process, pay for another PCR on return trip to naija and get isolated for 7 days. 3 PCRs on the average of 50k each within a month. In some countries, you get isolated for only 3 days if you opt for testing on arrival (no -ve PCR from departing country). Most of these people are only going on business trips. Some foreigners aren't even coming for business cos of the absurd Covid-19 protocols leading to loss of man-days.
Their argument is that in the 3 days after your last -ve PCR and course of return flight you may have contracted the virus hence the 7 days isolation. But if all countries require same, business will slow down. If anything, the isolation should only last for the 48 - 72 hours it takes the PCR to come out.

Go to Gtb bank were we have mature men as staff doing banking services and providing solutions for its customers.

3 core staff times all their branches nationwide, you'll know that they employ hundreds if not up to a thousand GTs every year. And Access bank is about the most decent bank to work. The thing in banking is that employees turnover is high that's why they're always recruiting.

But you need to cast away this connection mentality. The financial services and banking sector is one of the easiest to get employed if you're qualified and sharp. That's how I entered one bank and some service executives were thinking it was through connection. After I sweat for aptitude test and accessment centre finish, do 3 months training school come work for 3 months jakpa. Now some done take me as mentor for the job hustle industry. And I'm still looking for better soap.

Even if na me give her belle, I won't advise any lady to keep or terminate a preg. She'll make her decision and I'll stand by it. Although pregnancy may not determine whether I'll marry her, I'll take responsibility if she decides to keep it.
As a general rule, don't lose guard for a lady you can't marry. grin
