TheCabal: I am always amazed with the average south easterners obsession with the idea that; someday someway the nation will set ablaze and the south east will remain unscathed like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in old testament.
I know you feel powerless and worthless like a reject and that somehow the "hungry northerner" whom you supposedly lord over is responsible for your inability to pacify you earthly desires.
You blame everyone but yourself for all the wrong decisions you have made from the day you were born till this moment. In light of this, I fail to see how this collective delusion you and your kind are passing through will result in negative consequences for Nigeria and Nigerians when you turn to the west for a piece of bread, purified bottled water and sackcloth to cover you unclothedness.
When I read posts like these or meet people like you; I see an ideology that translates into slavery; slaves chained at the hands, feet and neck, walking in a single file through the streets of western nations. If you listen carefully; you can hear a whip crack on their backs, the smell of fear pulsating from their breath as they scream in anguish.
You find them standing when they should sit, laughing when they should be crying, smiling when they should complaining, and running when the majority is dancing.
You really took out time to write this epistle because you thought he is Igbo. Now that you know he is not not, what do you have to say about yourself? |

Now he is away and people are are anticipating that the system has been loosed from its strong moorings (shackles).
Lets all stay put. We may have an Egypt loading. I'm disappointed mainly because the lower the index stays the better for me so that I can load more before the eventual devaluation. But all the same, lets enjoy the ride.
A pullback may happen if the foreign investors are not Ok with the floatation.
But see below what happened in Egypt and judge for your self whether it is not worth it playing this MMM.
Don't come here to say you JOed and missed out.
Egypt
1st Nov. 2016: EGX 30: 8,448 3rd Nov. 2016: Egypt devalues/floats currency 13th Nov. 2016: EGX 30: 10,917 30th Nov. 2016: EGX 30: 11,453 Current EGX 30: 12,934
Being in the market 2 weeks after devaluation/ floatation is key.
This is going to happen here in naija and is going to be the most important event this year.
[quote author=austinkenneth post=57127308]Remember the above post. At least followers of this forum can not say they were not alerted about this current bull, laying credence to the relevance of this chat forum which I think is the best in the country.
While reading through this forum, we all need to filter out the key thing we need.
The effect of currency floatation after a period of peg or currency devaluation, has been there for everyone to see. It has happened in Russia, Sweden, Indonesia, Argentina, Venezuela where their stock markets gained massively. It happened more recently in nearby Egypt where where their index rose by 50% one month after currency floatation.
It was only matter of time before the same situation replicated itself here. Stocks markets worldwide are devaluation hedges.
It only pains me that when advice is given at the end of a painstaking research, it is not heeded to.
Some people in my office thought I had lost my mind when i shared with them that I borrowed money this year to buy shares. Some of them are coming back to ask me where they should enter.
I think the market will keep shooting up until around at least until index value of 38000 before stabilising. That is another 20% upside from current levels. Hey folks.... Remember the above posts. It's been awhile. I went away because I felt I shouldn't be watching my assets minute by minute, hour by hour The Naira has effectively been devalued via the NAFEX window and what do we see.... a ~50% jump in ASI before retreating. Another Egypt has played itself out here... I made some money...It was like a very sure thing for me. History always repeats itself. This prediction has been out here several times this year. Hope a few people picked it up. Please let us always keep our eyes open on this forum. There is a lot of good info flying around here but sometimes haphazardly. Therefore you need to be able to sift through the noise and get the signal. I have immensely benefited (in terms of money) from ideas on this forums which I got for free. Happy investing. I have no clue as to what the next big thing (strategically) will be going forward.... Anyone that has, please let us all know. |

Cadillac15: Diamond bank is the most stupid share on NSE. I made a loss of N300k on that stock last week and i have sworn never to buy it again.
I didnt know much about the fundamentals of the company before i sank my fund there but after my loss, i had to research and my findings revealed i was foolish from the word Go.
Diamond sold about 20% of their equity to a foreign partner two years ago in order to get the necessary funds to boost their Tier 1 & 2 capital. That partner has been trapped in the Nigerian market since then and has been desperate to leave.
Hence, the profits of the company for the past two years has been channeled towards paying off the partner and this is expected to continue for the next two years. This same partner has fund managers in the country who manage their holdings and they have been divesting from the company gradually which is why you will notice heavy dumping whenever the share price gets close to N1.
They applying a two pronged approach in leaving the Nigerian market:
1. Sell back shares to the company in return for profits declared ( hence no dividend to other shareholders)
2. Sell shares to uninformed and stupid shareholders whenever the price is right, to reduce their holdings

Like i said, only a fool will venture into that waters and i have learnt the hard way.
JAHBLESS The big guys are exiting this stock. But they have to do so at target prices. The catch is that it is easier for them to exit in a volatile (up and down) situation. If the Nigerian investors who want to buy are united, they should simply chill, do not bid, and this stock will go down to N0.8. Then they can buy. The current ups and downs end up providing liquidity for the foreign guys to exit at higher prices. |

Ishould sell my Diamond bank on Tuesday
No wonder te bank rarely pays dividend These guys are jokers... They probably used the banks money to do this in EVERY branch. They have been doi h endless rebranding and adverts over the years.... And then when it comes to paying dividend, it'll be stories. The status of the shareholder is not paramount in this bank. Methinks that the Dozies have other ways of siphoning their money from this bank quite unlike the Fidelity that seem to live on dividends. Even in US where regulations are tight, the executives tves still manage to skin off the shareholder. Now imagine what the executives would be doing to us in the presence of weak regulations. We all saw the great strides (capital appreciation) made by GTB after IPO. Can the same be said about other banks? For instance, I remember Fidelity's IPO was N8. 00. Those that bought are still sitting on massive losses because of weak corporate governance that has depressed profits. ALL THESE BANKS ARE FRAUDS!! I JUST WANT TO GET MY CAPITAL APPRECIATION AND MOVE ON. |

makashava: I cannot confirm it but one thinks the bank will find means to make impression and advance it's share price. Do not be deceived. The big shareholders have no immediate incentive to increase the share price in the short-term. They'll prefer it even goes to N 0.6 so that they can accumulate more knowing an increase will definitely come in the long term. Accumulation for where? Beware when they'll exit. We saw a massive 42m shares bid at the close of the last trading day of the last bull. Only for the SP to fall yakata the next day. All that may be JIJO action. Some people do JIJO on NSE with N150m+ |

Cadillac15: Heard a rumour that diamond bank might likely do a 6month half year audit with the posibility of declaring dividend to appease their shareholders.
Who can confirm? Diamond Bank has a bad dividend history. Their disposition has been not to be paying dividends. They like retaining a significant portion of their earnings. I wonder if the rumour that they they'll change (mid-year) is true. Any way we'll have to wait till July ending to see. |

Those that sold yesterday got it right and are in pole position to control future JIJOs within this month.
(1) They sell the bid, the price starts crashing (full offer) for days....This played out yesterday (2) you panic and sell 10-20% below the price they sold.....This is playing out today. (3) they come back to repurchase at lower prices (afterall the fundamentals of the company is OK, and they believe in the company more than you,but if they can get lower prices, why not?) (4) they are done with repurchasing, price starts to increase due to their action. (5) You bite yourself, I bought and then it crashed, I sold and then it rose. Something is wrong with me. I'm operating under a curse... etc..... (6) You jump in again with others like you---> Full bid and they sell on you (7) The cycle continues. Some in virtous cylcle. Some in vicious cycle.
By the end of the game, wealth would have been re-allocated. Some will be on top while other will be below.
Wealth would have been not necessarily created nor destroyed but transfered from one person to another.
Remember the transfer from one person to another is not 100% efficient just like energy (brokerage fees, brokers smiling to the bank)
My advice is: If you have a fundamentally sound stock and you missed participating step 1 above as the seller, do not partake in step 2. That may lead to vicious cycle. Take a chill pill and re-join the game only from step 3 or 4.
