Some say it’s a new beginning, some say it’s the beginning of the end.. no matter what side of the divide you stand, the future is being reinvented on a daily basis. In the future, you won’t need keys to start your cars anymore. Your fingerprint will do all that using a Biometric Access System. The car will also use facial recognition software to automatically adjust all the car settings to suit you. With these future cars, anyone who is into car theft business should consider another profession because an iris-scanning technology in the car’s rear-view mirror will accurately confirm your identity before you can operate it. The car will welcome you if it recognises you, if not, it will send a text message to the real owner. These future cars will also serve as your doctor by checking your pulse, vitals, neurological activities etc. The automotive world is moving fast.. Good or Bad? Do you want this type of car.. The design company, MoAoun, which is famous for the concepts of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Mercedes G-Class and Tesla Model X, has done a perfect job in designing a Audi R8 Off-roader. Although the properties or capabilities of the concept hasn’t been revealed. You can tell the car is definitely suitable for cruising the roads of Nigeria, be it tarred, muddy, or pot-hole filled. I am sure you are falling in lover with it already. https://autojosh.com/moaoun-designs-audi-r8-nigerian-roads-photos/

Admittedly, some of us have poor driving habits but we realize this when we end up at the mechanic shop with a bill in front of us, in some extreme circumstances motorists, car occupants and pedestrians have lost their precious lives. The Global Status Report on Road Safety 2015 shows that Road Traffic Accident ranked the highest in the causes of death among young people. African has regrettably taken the lead in the highest road traffic death rates. Car occupants accounted for 40% of road traffic deaths in Africa, while pedestrians followed with 39%. The popular causes of road traffic deaths includes over-speeding, drink-driving, non-usage of seat belts and motorcycle helmets. On our way to work most times we take routes we are not supposed to take just because it might be shorter and we neglect the impact it might have on our vehicle. Save yourself from these costly mistakes by watching out for these serious driving mistakes. 1.Speeding From Light To Light When you slam on the power pedal from a standstill, you’ll notice the in the vehicle’s tachometer (a device used to determine the speed of rotation) on your dashboard jolt upward into the red. This is your engine telling you to slow down because it can’t handle the amount of torque (rotating force) that you’re asking it to produce without switching into the next gear. The more you press down the pedal, the more gas you’re pumping into the engine. This process also produces a lot of heat on the transmission. This intense heat when repeated over and over will eventually cause your transmission to go out; if that does happen, expect to see yourself at the mechanic workshop soon. 2.Slamming On the Brakes Slamming on your brakes will cause the rubber on your brake pads to overheat and wear down very quickly. In addition to this, hard braking put the tyres under stress and friction, causing them to wear faster. When you press real hard on the brake, there is a lot of force and energy the vehicle is fighting against including the weight of the vehicles. Slamming on the brakes can also put the passengers at risk. Try and know the speed limits of the routes you are plying. Reducing your speed from 100km/h to 30km/h in split seconds is suicidal. 3.Putting the Car in Park without the Emergency Brake The emergency brake is also called hand brake, parking brake or e-brake. They have a rachet locking mechanism, so until the release button is pressed, the lock won’t be released. If you’re someone that likes to put the car when sitting at a drive through or in long traffic lines, make sure that you are also using the emergency brake. The emergency brake acts as a backup to ensure that your vehicle doesn’t move out of place. If someone wasn’t paying attention and ran into you with your car in park, it would force the vehicle to move from the force and potentially break your parking pawl which is the thing that keeps your call in place. 4.Reverse and Drive Without Stopping When you’re in a hurry to back out of a parking spot, make sure the car is coming to a complete stop before you shift it into drive. If you don’t bring the vehicle to a complete stop, the gears inside the transmission will stop moving when you go to switch the gear in use. That is going to put a serious amount of pressure on the transmission and cause some pretty serious damage if made to be a regular habit. 5.Driving On an Empty Tank You might be trying to save some money and see how much fuel you can squeeze out of your cars tank, but it isn’t going to do you any favors in the long run. Driving a car around on a low tank of fuel allows sediment that has been sitting around the bottom of the fuel tank to get sucked up into the engine. This can damage the fuel lines and in time start to cause problems in your engine. Instead, fill up early and often and don’t let your fuel gauge drop below 1/4 of a tank. When you manage to avoid these common poor driving habits, you can save yourself a lot of money and hold onto your car a lot longer than most other car owners. If it’s already too late and your car has come to its last days, perhaps it’s time to visit any of our authorized dealers and purchase an Innoson car. https://autojosh.com/avoid-5-things-can-damage-car-innoson-motors/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Today, AutoJosh will be discussing the top 3 auction companies car dealers and car owners buy their cars before shipping them to Nigeria as Tokunbo. It is no more news that bulk of tokunbo cars in Nigeria are sourced from USA. Many say it’s due to our love for the “Dollar” and the “American Spec” belief. Although we also import from Europe but you can’t compare as car import from Europe is on a constant decline. A large chunk of cars that now come in from Europe are not recent cars. Most are even underaged cars (older than 2002 model).. used to cargo goods into the country as well as those that are to be used for public transportation. Some also come from the Arab countries and Canada is beginning to gain grounds in recent years too. An average car buyer also like the most inexpensive cars on the block. So, we buy from auction companies which are usually cheaper than the dealerships. They are usually cheaper because some are salvaged and some are donated vehicles (whose sales proceed goes to charity) amongst others. Even if you bought your car from Cotonou, Berger Market or any other car market in Nigeria, there is a likelihood the car came from one of these 3 sources: Copart When it comes to car auctions, Copart is a champion with about 130,000 cars in their yards per time. They have outlets spread all over USA and Canada. They have also expanded to UK, Germany, Spain, UAE, Brazil, China and India. The 35 year old Company was founded in 1982 by Willis J. Johnson in California.. they now have over 200 outlets with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. They get their cars from Insurance companies, banks, fleet operators, dealers and the general public. Copart and other auction sites have won the hearts many Nigerians because you can get a car for less than half the market price, ship to Nigeria, fix it (if it has any issue) and become the biggest boy in town. You can be a free member or go premium with an initial subscription of $200 in order to enjoy more benefits. The company is rated “top 100 most exception companies in USA” by Deloitte. Copart is surely aware of the patronage they get from Nigeria and they are adding services that will make them serve Nigerians better e.g shipping to you in Lagos and working with local representatives. For more, visit www.copart.com IAAI On the average, IAAI (Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc.) has about 60,000 cars listed for auction per time. The company was also founded in 1982 and now has over 150 facilities across USA and Canada with head office in Illinois. They sell vehicles that are from insurance, recovered theft, fleet lease, donation, rental companies etc. All you need to partake is a free registration or $200 fee to go premium. IAAI offers 3 ways to bid, you can always pre-bid on a vehicle prior to an auction and then either attend the sale in person or bid via I-bid LIVE online. The third one is probably your best bet. For more, visit www.iaai.com Auction Export Auction Export was established in 2007 and they specialize in helping individuals around the world purchase and export cars they buy from USA and Canada. The company is based in Ontario, Canada and they serve as a broker who help source cars from other auction companies as well as dealers. They always have an average of 200,000 vehicles listed. Although, most of the vehicles are sourced from other auction companies and dealers and these vehicles are not owned by Auction Export. The Company charges a commission on any car you buy through them and also render shipping services. Their registration is free, however, buyers must make a security deposit of $400 or 10% of the car’s value before they can bid on behalf of such customer. They have the highest publicity in Nigeria and they assist those who do not know how to go about the bidding and shipping process. They have an excellent service but most Nigerians who are trying to save every penny do complain about their high ancillary and shipping charges. Well, I guess those monies seems little to them but additional $500 is almost N200,000 to a Nigerian. For more, visit www.auctionexport.com Finally, there are a couple of other auctions like Manheim, Adesa, AutoBidMaster, Ebay, Gov auctions etc. Is there any major one I didn’t mention? Which one have you used and which do you like the most? Tell us in the comment section. https://autojosh.com/top-3-auction-companies-nigerians-buy-tokunbo-cars-from/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

1988 Suzuki Samurai Suzuki’s little 4×4 flipped so much that it became the subject of jokes like “Have you seen the new Samurai? The sunroof is in the floor”

Renault Dauphin Even though the Dauphine, introduced to the US in the 1950s, took 30 seconds to go from 0 to 60mph, the rear-mounted engine and swing-axle suspension made sure it spun at every turn. In Spain, the car was nicknamed “Widowmaker” and it would’ve claimed a lot more lives had it not been for the paper-thin sheet metal that rusted very quickly.
|
Shelby 427 Cobra The Cobra started out as a British sports car with a reasonable 6-cylinder engine. Then the Ford and Carroll Shelby shoehorned a massive 425hp V8. The same idea was used for the Super Snake, one of which Carroll sold his friend Bill Cosby. Even though Cosby was a known sports car enthusiast, he got so unraveled after a test drive that he returned it immediately. The next owner lost control and fell off a cliff, which ended his life.

Original Porsche 911 Most of the time, putting the engine onto the back of a car is a bad idea, because when the front tries to go in the direction of your turn, while the rear tries to go straight, making it very likely to spin out. Porsche couldn’t tame the iconic 911 until 1994 – 30 years into production and even then it was still risky until the introduction of electronic stability control.
|
Reliant Robin The three-wheeled Reliant Robin is unfamiliar to Americans but very familiar to our friends across the pond, many of whom drove one because it was officially classified as a motorcycle, meaning no driver’s license necessary and lower road tax. Making a turn at a speed any higher than walking was so sure to put it on its side that Reliant actually reinforced the sides, fully expecting that to happen.
|
Dogde Viper The original Dodge Viper had a 400hp V10, but no traction control or antilock breaks, meaning it’s very easy to give the car too much throttle, spin out, slide into a tree and have the side-mounted exhaust burn your leg as you try to flee. By 2008, the Viper’s engine had grown to a truly scary 600hp, but electronic stability control was still absent, even though the technology was already well-developed at the time.

Do not get into one of these unless you know what you’re doing. Continue below; Volkwagen Beetle Other than the unpleasant handling, the Beetle also comes with seats that bend backwards if the car is rear-ended, sending any unbelted occupants flying out of the rear window. Some of us are fond of competing with trailers on the road… and our panel beaters over-bill us after our over-skill fails. I have been bitten once, so now, I avoid them like.. I don’t want trouble. During the first-to-go competition, several drivers get carried away with the aim of being the winner until they lose big time.. heading to the repair shop after plenty “I beg Sir”. For me, my therapy is to think of my safety. So, I just let them go. Let’s talk about some of the things you should remember before you compete, probably, they could help you too: Trailer Drivers Are Reckless And Aggressive Most trailer drivers are aggressive and reckless when behind the wheels.. especially when driving under the influence of what you might call it. This is evidenced by the number of trailers reported in road accidents on a daily basis. So if you want to compete, look for your mate. They May Not Even See You Those trailers have enormous blind spots. This is a major reason they usually have motor boys (Co-pilot).. Some co-pilots that can’t drive. I hardly trust their judgement. Some of them will just tell the driver to be coming.. be coming.. until you hear… Your Vehicle Could Get Damaged When this happened to me several years back, I then took the car to a panel beater who even caused more damage to the car. I never believed the guy would use sharp metal rod to puncture the body of the car that was smoothly dented by the trailer’s tyre. They Can Waste Your Time A minute waiting time can save you several hours of delay. The sad thing is, those trailers don’t even leave small dents.. they damage your car well so you guys can argue for hours and you’ll spend additional time at the repair shop. After spending the time, you’ll still spend the money. Your Life Is At Stake Even if you don’t love yourself, AutoJosh loves you. So please think twice and drive with caution. Many have been killed, containers have falling on several others. Avoid driving beside them even in traffic. It’s either you are behind them or you are in front running for your dear life. Please don’t misconstrue, I am not saying you should be timid on the road and park anytime you hear the word “Trailer”.. A smart driver will know when to go and an excellent driver will know when to hold back. Strike a balance and be a safety conscious driver. I am sure you have gone through this ordeal before. So, add your consolation strategy let’s learn from you too. https://autojosh.com/x-factor-to-consider-before-you-compete-with-a-trailer-on-the-road/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Germany’s all-important auto industry has been under a cloud since the weekly Der Spiegel reported Friday on documents it said showed carmakers had held secret meetings since the 1990s. German auto giants Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler were hit with lawsuits this week charging the companies colluded illegally to drive up the prices of their cars. The suits filed almost simultaneously in US and Canadian courts come as European authorities investigate the German carmakers cartel which allegedly struck unlawful bargains to share technology and strategy. According to one news report, US authorities also are reviewing the allegations. In a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in New Jersey, three car owners accused the companies of two decades of conspiracy that hurt customers, court papers show. The residents of Florida, New Jersey and the District of Columbia, said the companies illegally shared information on costs, suppliers, markets, emissions equipment and other competitive matters. That collusion harmed buyers because “they paid more for German luxury vehicles than they otherwise would have,” said the plaintiffs, who claimed to represent an entire class of American buyers. The US lawsuit seeks “treble damages” at trial, although the amount was not specified. The suit filed in Montreal made similar allegations and seeks $878 million (CAN $1.1 billion) in damages. “If the allegations in the claim prove to be true, then Canadian consumers have been harmed by a long-standing cartel of German car manufacturers to provide inferior components in their vehicles while charging premium prices for these vehicles,” attorney David Wingfield said in a statement. Daimler dismissed the allegations in the lawsuits. “We consider these class action suits to lack merit,” a spokesperson told AFP in an email. “We will defend ourselves by all legal means.” BMW declined to comment on active litigation, as did Volkswagen. Germany’s all-important auto industry has been under a cloud since the weekly Der Spiegel reported Friday on documents it said showed carmakers had held secret meetings since the 1990s. Bloomberg reported Tuesday that the US Justice Department also is looking into the matter. A Justice Department spokesman declined to comment on Thursday. The latest controversy brings renewed negative scrutiny to Volkswagen, which has struggled since 2015 to put its global emissions cheating scandal behind it. The company so far has set aside more than $24 billion to cover related fines and compensation and a former executive charged with covering up the scandal agreed on Tuesday to plead guilty to fraud and conspiracy charges. Ignorance is not an excuse because cars don’t look at faces. This is a perfect example of Garbage In – Garbage Out. The windshield washer on her Mini car went low and she got an in-dash notification.. but instead of pouring the 5 litre washer fluid in the windshield washer reservoir, she put it in the engine oil compartment. Immediately after that, she started to notice blue smoke from the exhaust and she didn’t know what she had done wrong until a mechanic inspected the car. As seen in the pictures, the engine is now covered with thick foamy sludge and the only solutions are a new engine or a new car. No guesses, always read your car manual. https://autojosh.com/woman-pours-washer-fluid-instead-oil-engine-see-happened/

The futuristic design of the Vision Van provides a foretaste of future generations of vans. The Vision Van is a combination of emotion and intelligence. The design underscores its function as a platform for a fully interconnected logistics concept and renders this concept tangible for the driver. The highly complex technology is stripped down to its fundamentals, thereby making it extremely user-friendly. While the high standards in terms of aesthetics and attractive appearance are never neglected. The Vision Van’s design is hot and cool. As such, it embodies the essential elements of our design philosophy: sensual purity. The face is defined by the extremely wide windscreen, which curves around to the sidewalls like a high-tech visor. A surprising highlight is the brand’s signature radiator grille with integrated LED matrix. Its displays convey the vehicle’s intelligence in an impressive manner. The sharp contours of these elements contrast with the vehicle’s smooth surfaces, engaging in a fascinating dialogue between passion and emotion, technology and functionality. The interior of the Vision Van also represents a design philosophy of sensual purity. It strips down highly complex technology to the bare essentials and embodies a seamless transition from interior design to user experience and is characterized by the perfect combination of emotion and intelligence. The deliberate omission of a steering wheel, pedals and centre console provides an unusually broad scope for design purposes. This enabled Benz to design a sculptural dashboard that spans the entire front of the cab like an arc, creating a wrap-around effect. It is covered in a premium textile that melds the digital world and the interior. The vehicle also communicates with the driver via the cabin floor. By way of a special effect LED indicators shine in the stainless steel floor, signalling to the driver whether pedestrians or cyclists are approaching, for example. At the rear wall of the driver’s cabin are the package dispenser and the driver’s info terminal providing all the relevant information on the delivery process. This terminal serves as a means of communication between the Vision Van’s autonomously functioning system environment and the driver who is able to fully concentrate on the manual delivery task at hand. It also performs the role of a central control unit to interlink the intelligent vehicle, the automated systems and the information relating to the delivery orders to be carried out. At the same time, the interior concept also facilitates the driver’s work procedures. The omission of a steering wheel, pedals and centre console provides for freedom of movement in the driver’s cabin and ensures unimpeded entry into and exiting from the vehicle. The electric drive system does away with the need for a drive line, making it possible to provide the driver’s cab with a level floor. The on-board package dispenser spares the driver the time-consuming and strength-sapping task of searching for and resorting consignments in the cargo space. The driver is able to take receipt of packages at the dispenser in an ergonomically ideal position. https://autojosh.com/mercedes-benz-vision-van-concept-cant-get-sleeker-than-this-photos/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ve63xdzc3hg

N278million!!! Sure, that was not a typo. This 1993 Ford Bronco is one of the most infamous vehicles in the world. It is known all over the world and over 95 million people watched that moment O.J Simpson was pursued by the police in this particular Bronco way back in 1994.. trying to escape as he was accused of killing Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. The SUV was purchased by Mike Gilbert in 1995 for $75,000. With no emotional attachment, he only kept it for investment purpose.. and now is the time to cash in on the SUV as O.J Simpson has now been granted parole. Gilbert’s asking price is between $750,000 to $1,000,000. He already got a serious buyer for $250,000, but he turned it down. He probably prefers to pass the SUV to his children if he doesn’t get his desired price. So if you need a Bronco badly and you can’t wait for the upcoming edition in 2020, you can contact Mike Gilbert. He is willing to sell to anyone except for O.J Simpson himself. Constructions when done on a massive scale and in many places at the same time ,can be very discomforting .But we can’t disagree with the fact that its for our benefit. Like it or hate it ,the constructions and renovation on Lagos roads have started. This has brought about various occurrences, the good, bad, ugly, and extremely funny. Lets find out some of them. 1.MUD We love rain, but we don’t like the mud it creates when it mixes with excavated sand. Its very annoying, especially at Ile Epo market axis . Its funny how MUD can be decoded as Mega Universal Diarrhea, because thats what all the mud looks like to me . 2.Increased Bus Fare As usual our Danfo drivers won’t disappoint .We have seen bus fares go up by 100 % in some places and on some days as much as 600%(e.g the LGA election day and the day before). 3.Traffic As if the traffic in Lagos was not enough .We now have butt compressing traffic, that exceeds the longevity of a tortoise . 4.Broken Hearts And Angry People As a result of the traffic very few people believe you when you tell them you are in traffic .People are loosing trust in each other. Person 1 : “I dey inside go slow na ,I dey Abule Egba” Person 2:”No be wetin you don dey tell me since 8am ,how many minutes from Abule Egba to Ikeja,Oga fear God na” 5.Plenty Lies While some are actually telling the truth, some folks use the opportunity to lie like La* M******** even when their vehicle is moving at 100km/h . 6.Accidents We have seen plenty cars engaging in gymnastics and some swimming inside gutter (I am not making fun of the victims o).Its sad ,but what can we do.We have to wait till its all done. 7.Plenty Flogging If you ply Abule Egba axis very well you would have heard of, or seen scenarios where Soldiers flog(emphasis on the “g”) people like kindergarten students.Construction workers have also been victims.(according to one market woman I eavesdropped on) But there are also some nice force men, about two days ago around Ile Epo a fast and furious motorist, brushed the behind of a clean blue pickup truck belonging to a Naval officer. He was nice enough not to beat anybody . What are you currently experiencing in Lasgidi,we would love to hear your story . Gist with us in the comments section below . 5. A Portable Air Compressor If you suddenly find yourself with a slow-leaking tyre, you can cross your fingers and hope you make it to a vulcanizer in time, or you can pull over and fill your tyre with a portable air compressor. Small enough to fit in your trunk, most portable air compressors can be powered by your car's cigarette lighter.
|
4. A Mini Jump-Starter You should never drive anywhere without a set of jumper cables. But if you're stranded somewhere and there isn't another car to give you a jump, a mini jump starter, which stores easily in your trunk, will give you enough juice to start your car without having to rely on the close proximity of a kind stranger.
|
3. A Bluetooth Adapter Kit for Phone Calls and Your Car Stereo New cars, pretty much all have built-in Bluetooth® connectivity, but driving an older car doesn't mean you have to miss out on the luxury of hands-free calling and streaming music. A Bluetooth® adapter kit will make pretty much any car stereo, whether it has an auxiliary audio-input jack or not, Bluetooth® ready. And all for a lot less than the price of installing a new head unit.
|
2. Dash Cam Accidents on the road happen. In the event of one, a dash cam is a great way to document what happened, and it can protect you from anyone out there who's trying to commit insurance fraud. On a lighter note, you can, of course, use a dash cam to record your road trip's amazing scenery.
|
1. A Key Tracker How many times have you been late because you couldn't find your keys? With a key tracker, those days are numbered. Just register the key tracker with a mobile app on your phone and then connect the two via Bluetooth®. Your phone will tell you exactly where your keys are. Some key trackers even provide a key fob that will help you go the other way around and locate your phone. A must-have for the absent minded.

The most silent motor car in the world From the moment Sir Henry Royce introduced the Rolls-Royce Phantom in 1925 it was judged ‘The Best Car in the World’ by the cognoscenti. As a result it has conveyed some of the world’s most influential and powerful men and women to the most defining historical moments over the last 92 years. The New 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom will be the first of a new generation of Rolls-Royces to benefit from the creation of the Architecture of Luxury. This new architecture serves as the foundation on which this eighth generation of Phantom reaffirms its position as ‘The Best Car in the World’ by taking the best fundamentals and making them better. The first major benefit of the new architecture for the New Phantom are lightness, increased stiffness, efficient production of standard and extended wheelbase bodies and uncompromised exterior surface design. The all-new aluminium spaceframe structure delivers extraordinary car body stiffness for exceptional 'best-in-class' functional performance whilst also being lighter. Indeed New Phantom is 30 per cent more rigid than its predecessor, leading to better ride comfort. The suspension makes millions of calculations every second as it continuously varies the electronically controlled shock absorber adjustment system – reacting to body and wheel acceleration, steering inputs and camera information. With the focus on creating the most silent motor car in the world, a completely silent engine was also required, and that meant more low-end output at lower revs to ensure that silence. Hence a completely new, 6.75-litre V12 powertrain has been engineered for New Phantom, in place of the previous naturally aspirated V12 engine. The new V12 Phantom engine employs two turbo chargers that contribute to a low-end torque output of 900Nm at an incredibly low 1,700rpm whilst also delivering 563bhp or 420kW of power, resulting in calm low speed progress associated with state occasions and an unfussed surge of power when one needs to press on. The addition of Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT), married to a ZF 8-Speed gearbox also ensures that the driver is prepared for whatever the road has in store for them. Features include: Alertness Assistant, a 4-camera system with Panoramic View, all-round visibility including helicopter view, Night Vision and Vision Assist, Active Cruise Control, collision warning, pedestrian warning, cross-traffic warning, lane departure and lane change warning, an industry leading 7x3 high-resolution head-up display, WiFi hotspot, of course the latest navigation and entertainment systems and many more. Rain reduces visibility and traction as the roads becomes wet and slippery. While driving under the rain, your stopping distance may become four or more times as long as on a dry road. Consider the following. 1. Reduce your speed to reduce loss of control 2. Drive in tracks of other vehicles ahead 3. Increase your following distance. 4. Ensure that your headlamps are on so as to be seen by others 5. Use your wipers to clean your windscreen and heater to remove mist. Would be nice for you to add some more. Let's all learn and save a life. https://autojosh.com/driving-in-the-rain/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Chief Innocent Chukwuma, OFR, and Innoson Nig Ltd. have filed a fresh lawsuit against Guaranty Trust Bank PLC in the High Court of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja claiming a total sum of 400 billion Naira damages for injury to their reputation, moral character, credibility, office, vocation and trade. They also seek for an order of perpetual injunction restraining GT Bank from further defaming them. The lawsuit which was filed by Innocent Chukwuma’s counsel, Prof Joseph N Mbadugha Esq, is sequel to a recent decision by the Supreme Court of Nigeria in favour of Innoson Nigeria Ltd. in Appeal No: SC/694/2014 between GTB v. Innoson Nig Ltd. There, on 12th May 2017, the Supreme Court dismissed GT Bank’s Application. It must be noted that Innoson Nigeria Ltd had won various lawsuits against GT Bank. On 29th July 2011, the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, through a garnishee order absolute ordered the Defendants (GT Bank) to pay the sum of N2,048,737,443.6K ( Two Billion, Forty Eight Million, Seven Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand, Four Hundred and Forty Three Naira, Sixty Seven Kobo) to Innoson Nigeria Ltd. GTBank however appealed against the judgment to the Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division. In a unanimous judgment, delivered on 6th February 2014, the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal, affirmed the judgment of the trial Court and ordered the Defendant (GT Bank) to pay the said sum of N2, 048,737,443.6K (Two Billion, Forty Eight Million, Seven Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand, Four Hundred and Forty Three Naira, Sixty Seven Kobo) to Innoson Nigeria Ltd. Still aggrieved, the Defendant (GT Bank) appealed to the Supreme Court on 11 Grounds. Subsequently, GT Bank sought to amend its notice of appeal- to adduce Fresh Evidence- to show that Innoson Nigeria Ltd obtained the judgment of the Court of Appeal by fraud and fraudulent suppression of material facts. GT Bank had through its motion on notice in Appeal No: SC/694/2014 dated the 22nd of January 2016 and filed at the Supreme Court on the 5th of February 2016, with a 15 paragraph affidavit in support averred that Innoson Nigeria Ltd obtained the Court of Appeal Judgment against GT Bank in Appeal No CA/I/258/2011 by fraud. Similarly, at paragraphs 9 and 10 of the affidavit in support of the said motion on notice deposed to by Sarah Ugamah on behalf of GT Bank, GT Bank said that Innoson Nigeria Ltd fraudulently suppressed that it was paid the sum of N1, 406,515,845.98 (One Billion, Four Hundred and Six Million, Five Hundred and Fifteen Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Five naira, Ninety-Eight Kobo) in liquidation of the judgment debt. However in a unanimous decision, on 12th May 2017, the Supreme Court dismissed the GT Bank’s said motion on notice; and while dismissing the motion, Supreme Court stated, inter alia, that GT Bank engaged in double speaking and in a frivolous frolic in bringing the application. In the fresh suit Innoson Nigeria Ltd and Chief Innocent Chukwuma maintained that the words published by GT Bank –that it obtained the Court of Appeal Judgment by fraud and fraudulent suppression of the fact that Innson Nig. Ltd. was paid the sum N1, 406,515,845.98 in final liquidation of the judgment debt – implies that Innocent Chukwuma and Innoson Nigeria Ltd are dubious, dishonest, dishonorable, and untrustworthy, of questionable character, fraudster, criminally deceptive, cheats and obtaining money through false pretenses. In consequence, Innoson Nigeria Ltd and Innocent Chukwuma are claiming against the GT Bank PlC as follows: N100 Billion exemplary damages; N100 Billion for injury to feelings-mental pains and anxiety; N150 Billion for injury to reputation and N50 Billion general damages. Innoson Nig Ltd. and Chief Innocent Chukwuma further claim: AN ORDER that the published words complained of be retracted by the Defendant – GT Bank with an apology published in two National dailies; AN ORDER of perpetual injunction restraining the GT Bank from further maligning or otherwise defaming them in the words or similar words, complained of in this motion; AN ORDER of perpetual injunction restraining GT Bank, its agents, privies or whomsoever from further defaming the plaintiffs; 22% interest on the said sums of money claimed above commencing on 22nd January 2016 till the date of the judgment and thereafter at the same rate of 22% interest until the satisfaction of the judgment debt. https://autojosh.com/innoson-sues-gtb-n400billion-character-assasination-defamation/

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that a Traffic Radio Station will go on air very soon, according to Corps Marshall Boboye Oyeyemi has said. Oyeyemi in New York said that the radio station would be fully dedicated to traffic information in the country. “All over the developed countries, you see you’re on the highway, you just tune to the Traffic Radio, on the spot and get the traffic situation. “When the station takes off, every 30 minutes, you should be able to tune on. “I should be able to give you the situation between Abuja-Kaduna, Lagos-Ibadan, Enugu-Port Harcourt and Benin-Asaba, and for all the highways in the country and also let you know if any crash has occurred or if the road condition is bad.” According to him, the station would attract the public because of the specialised service it would offer. “It should have the audience in such a way that we can give accurate information on any part of the country in terms of situation and traffic management. “That is what it all centres about and part of the thing is also to improve on the advocacy, education and enlightenment. “I think it’s the platform that we’ll be able to use to disseminate more information. It’s purely going to be for Road Safety so that this would also cut down the costs of our using other stations. “The public will be able to have phone-in programmes. We have other programmes that will be able to enlighten the public. “I believe globally, we are also going to have the App; our Traffic Radio application that you can download. “So that means anywhere you are, you should be able to monitor what is going on and make your contribution towards improving road safety management in Nigeria,” the FRSC boss said. Oyeyemi also said that the Federal Government was encouraging the States to set up their own State Traffic Management Agencies, adding 16 states so far have done this. The Corps Marshall said FRSC had achieved 40 per cent compliance with the installation of speed limiting devices by commercial drivers, aimed to reduce road crashes. “We started on the 1st of February this year, so far we’ve recorded about 40 per cent compliance and that is just about five months. “So I believe as we are moving on now and gradually, we’re getting the responses before the end of the year, and this is also reflecting in the traffic crash reports. “We’re having a gradual reduction of crashes involving commercial vehicles while we are having an increase in private; it shows that this effort is going on gradually. “Even though there are some resistance by some unions that has resulted in mob attacks on our personnel, we remain undaunted in respect of this and we continue,” he said. Oyeyemi said FRSC was focusing on commercial vehicles now because majority of Nigerians depended on public transportation. He noted the Federal Government’s efforts on integration transportation mode, making the rail, inland waterways and the air transportation systems to be more efficient. “I believe if we have complete integration of our transportation mode, our road safety will be much better,” the FRSC chief said.
