That is a master warning light. You need to inspect the car thoroughly, it's probably a loose fuel cap, low windscreen washer fluid, car service reminder, an issue with the parking brakes etc. It can even be an opened door or trunk. Scan the car if you can't find any issue.

Just thought to notify you of the constant disturbance by the Local Government guys because such buses are required to be licensed by them. About N30,000 per annum. You may want to settle for something more like a Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey if you don't want to add those guys to the Police and Road Safety routine checks.

Tubeless is an advancement over the tubed tire. The tubeless can retain air for some minutes or even some weeks after having a cut while the tubed goes flat immediately. It's not advisable to go back to tubed tires.

Some cars actually have "I" Intermediate on their shifters. Seen in some American Chevrolet and Saturn cars. However some have "D1", "D2", "B", "M" Manual and "S" Sport. Some of these gears have varied functions but they can be used for related purposes depending on how you drive.

This is a Ford Econoline. This particular one is E-250 or E-350 Cargo Van
The production year is 2008 - 2014. Discontinued and replaced with the 2015 Ford Transit.

The average price to land and clear a used 2008 model with the current exchange rate is N3.8m while new 2014 model is N9.05m.

The first step is to scan the car. Let us assume you used the correct replacement plugs (Note: A specific Laser Iridium Spark plug is usually recommended for this vehicle - see your user manual). Scan the car, especially the oxygen sensors and ensure you used good plugs before you proceed to other checks.

@AutojoshNG, I only used the hill climbing as an example to drive home my point.

What I mean is, an autogear is supposed to change its level from 1,2,...5 or 6 as the case maybe. With or without you knowing. This is done in accordance with the acceleration or deceleration as the case maybe.

But in my case, this doesn't happen. Even when I accelerate more than 100km/hr. You won't even notice a change in gear level.

The Car actually moves faster when I accelerate. And no the RPM doesn't drop. And yes the car climbs any hill without. trouble.

sorry, what i mean is.... When its on 'D' and you accelerate, you are supposed to notice a change in the engine to indicate the speed level of the car has gone beyond gear 1 (that's if its manual). Thus the auto gear should do same when on 'D'. but this doesn't change as you won't notice any sound/change from the engine.


Ok example "you're accelerating a hill, originally your engine changes sound to indicate the load of climbing the hill, thus the gear would change as well. But mine won't change to either a lower gear or higher gear. just there.

1) Does the car move faster when you accelerate or it just continues to make a loud noise like it can't move anymore?
2) Does the RPM gauge (that's the gauge usually next to the speedometer) go down from like 5,000 rpm to 2,500 rpm when driving?
3) Does the car climb the hill eventually or it just gets stuck there and begins to roll back?
4) When climbing the hill, does the RPM gauge rise high than the position it was before ascending?
5) Can you drive the car as fast as 100km/hr?

Answer the questions above and the house will be able to advise you accordingly.

I have a Toyota Camry 1996 (Orobo) Auto-transmission V6 car, but when the gear is in 'D' and you accelerate, the gear won't change to indicate velocity per acceleration. I mean the gear can shift between "1, P, D, R, N," but when on Drive, as you rev on, you will notice the gear selector on D remains.

That usual sound it used to notice will not be heard or observed..... please am planning on traveling a 6-7 hrs Journey with the car soon. what are the pitfall. its my first car, i don't have much experience.

The wheel bearing is usually attached to the hub but we don't know if hub you got came with the wheel bearing. Most tokunbo hub comes with the wheel bearing but some still remove it. However, you have to buy a separate wheel bearing if you got a new hub.

Thanks AutojoshNG, will look at the three possible causes you've highlighted. The tires are relatively new andi just did alignment about 3weeks ago. I will look at swapping the tires and then do another alignment and balancing. I gauged the gear oil 3days ago and the it's okay. If it's due to bearing wear, does that mean that the transmission is going bad? Am sorry about the double post, it's due to network error. I must have reposted again when the first one I posted brought an error reply. Will look at those 3 areas and then get back to the house. Thanks

It is possible but we hope it has not gotten to that. Make sure you use the computerized alignment system. If you reside in lagos, there is a one on Ikorodu road just before Fadeyi bus-stop when heading towards Ojuelegba and another one in Apapa at the intersection of Commercial road and Warehouse road.

It is most likely vapour if it comes in the morning and clears later. However, you need to read the vehicle manual and only use the recommended engine oil. It's not about forte oil or mobil oil, use the correct engine oil code e.g SAE 5W-30.

It is cheaper because you will probably spend more money on repairs. Nissan cars are usually more stylish and elegant than Toyota and Honda but more problematic (especially the suspension and mechanical problems). Hence, the reduced demand which has lead to its lower market price.

There is usually a sticker in the car that contains the radio code. Check the body of the glove box as seen in the attached picture or check inside the user manual thoroughly as the sticker or card might be in it.

The problem is most likely your tire or the wheel bearing. Your tire may have an uneven wear due to imbalance. Make sure you do wheel balancing and alignment if the tires are changed.

It could also be from the transmission due to low oil, blocked oil filter or damaged gear/bearing inside the transmission. However, this is unlikely.

Finally, ensure your wheels look straight to the Unclad eye, they must not have camber angles.

Which vehicles used for taxi come with factory security aka anti-theft deterrents like immobilizer and programmed keys.

I know that pedal lock, fuel cut timer, tracker are installed by buyers not the factory.

I just hope that this vehicle also has steering lock or they didn't include those in the cars until recently?

Gone are the days of pedal locks and immobilizers. Just take up a comprehensive insurance. You may install a car tracker as well.

Always study your car user manual as it knows more than your mechanic. The recommended engine oil for your car is SAE 5W-30 and make sure it has the API (American Petroleum Institute) seal. This is assuming your Corolla is the American spec.

When i kick start my car (Toyota Avalon Automatic Transmission) and start moving the gear shifts smoothly from 1 to 2 and to 3 but when i keep accelerating, the car starts acting as if it is gasping for breath and finding it difficult to shift upward to higher gears beyond 3. My car speed will no longer correspond to my throttling because it seems to have stopped shifting gear upwards and the engine will keep screaming. This will stop only when i shift the gear to D2 but i don't like driving long distance on D2 because it overheats my engine fast.

I took it to my mechanic who changed all the plugs but the problem still persists

You need to scan the car, don't think twice about that. It could be a sensor, plug, fuel pump, fuel filter, nozzle or catalytic converter (usually gives an exhaust note). Finally, it may be the transmission.

It all depends on your pocket but you will not want to be the owner of a 2003 SUV that has 5.0 liter V8 engine with an average gas mileage of 13 miles per gallon. Please run! from the ML500. The low price you are currently being offered is probably tempting. However, you may spend much more on maintenance in a short while and reselling it will be a tough one.

The ML320 is bad enough, don't make things worse by getting the ML500.
