@Hardtalk, The question is Why did you post it? I want to thank all the thinking NL posters who have requested that you (Hardtalk and cohorts') produce your better alternative to Fashola. People are not that stupid, smear campaigns will not work in this case. What this man is doing is VISIBLE to the eye (remember 1ST term), if the media does not report it, we the people are NOT blind. No one has said that he is a saint, but he has given hope to a lot of Nigerians that leadership can be used to do the right thing (which is the good thing). At the end of the day, the choice (of what to do with power) is yours to make. |

^^^ Muslims worship Allah. This is 2010. I cannot believe that there are still people in this day and age that post the above in a public forum. You have the freedom of speech but at least "get the facts" Or "Don't tell lies" ![]() |
@Deols, I am with you and so are many muslims. @Abuzola and uplawal The way I look at the issues of Alqaeda might be a little different from yours. How much have we done that can be compared to what the Prophet of Isalm (SAW) did before taking up arms? We all need to take a pause and go back to history of Islam. Muslims were persecuted but they did a lot of groundwork and only fought when the time was ripe (Allah's command). Today, what does AlQaeda hope to achieve by its actions? You cannot continue to kill everybody, that is totally unIslamic. Islam wants life to be preserved and lived worshipping Allah. On a daily basis in Iraq, how many muslims die from the hands of "AL Qaeda"? I could discuss this in a longer post but we really need to reflect on these pertinent issues. And I am not oblivious to the evils being perpertrated against the muslims by non- muslims too, but we are muslims. More people were won into Islam by the character of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) than by the sword. MAy Allah (SWT) grant us wisdom, Amin. |
Snail mail! Coming your way! ![]() |
@bilms I don't know how much they make but you can find educational qualifications on the website below. http://www.nassnig.org/senate/index.php |
@muhsin, I pray Allah grants your father smooth recovery and give him sound health. AMin. |
I think he's (YarAdua) dead! |
Thinking is one thing; Acting, a totally different matter. These speeches are not new in Nigeria. |
@isale I think what some posters are trying to point out to you is that, even though you say going to the church has not been an issue for you, or having close non muslim friends has not bothered you (my own interpretation, of course), it is not advisable to persist in these acts. We as muslims (should) continually strive to be better in our deen. Especially for something mentioned in the Quran, I will give an extra effort to comply. We are not perfect but the aim is to strive for perfection. As a male (again, my assumption), do you not see anything wrong in observing "worship" as described by you in the churches? (Note, I've been there, done that). I pray that Allah grants you more understanding. The churches are built for what they are built for and NO, you do not need any ritual to come into the mosque as a non muslim. Just observe the primary etiquette of removing your shoes, dressing modestly and covering your hair(females). U should invite some of your non muslim friends. |
Welcome back sis. |
@David, were you not the devil himself, I said a prayer for the late muslims; you could have done the same for the deceased non- muslims, but they are worth nothing to you OR you don't believe your prayers will be answered. I have said all I have to say to you. Allah is Just, Swift in punishment |
David, Surely Allah will visit His punishment upon you for you are indeed the scum of the Earth. You will see His Signs. You disgust me , I am really sorry for who brought you into this world. |
^^^did u see my email? |
Oh Allah, please forgive the muslims who have perished in this violence. Please do not give the unbelievers power over us, Amin. They report that the Yorubas were the worst hit, then the Hausas. Bottom line is, some one OR some group is attacking muslims. Whomever they may be, their acts will not go unpunished by Allah. As for indigeneship fighting, even if the Hausa/Fulanis leave, who will the Birom ppl fight next? the Igbos? the Yorubas? Probably Yorubas because we have muslims amongst the Yorubas. It is really sad and most of US media has been silent over this because they KNOW THE TRUTH. If the muslims were the ones killing the non- muslims, it will be all over the news as a Terrorist act. May Allah give us victory over the evildoers, Amin. |
@Lagosboy, How about you? I'm not kidding, please. |
toba:Haba, Toba, why will I hate you? Noooo. The bible say, "love your neighbor as thyself" Not "more than thyself" So how will I let my brother be looking for a life partner and "laju mi sile ki tallubo ko wooo?" It does matter that you are a christian. Trust me, I'll be the first to offer you one of my sisters if you are a muslim. Besides, all those babes for church nko? |
@uplawal Patience, my dear sister. And please, do NOT link the sister to Toba. He has indicated that he is a non muslim, what is he doing here and having the gall to ask for a muslim sister? Whatever you do, don't do that. I am updating my brother's resume. I protect my own |

@Katsumoto, For someone who was firmly against generalisation, I am sorely disappointed. If the Ibo guy now posts that ONLY Yorubas from Lagos are progressive because he has lived with them, the rest are (whatever expletives he chooses,)you will be one of the first to disagree Or perharps I misunderstood. The point the OP is making is that we shoul avoid generalisation. A lot of us have been guilty at one point or the other, the fact is;It is a higher level of reasoning to not generalise but it is possible if you try. And FYI, I have lived in the NORTH, SOUTH, EAST and WEST of Nigeria, your generalisation about Northern muslims is wrong. Thank you |
DatNiggaAk:By their words, you shall know them. "back to their generals and come out with war paints" just like they did in Kaduna? Right and after exterminating them, who's next. Some of you guys are just pure EVIL. |
darqly:No you are so not rejoicing. Even though "they" had guns, "they " got a "damn"-----"AGAIN". My goodness, you are despicable and also a liar. This is NOT the first time that muslims were slaughtered en masse in S.Bukuru and yet "they" are the terrorists. |
ziddy:Trying to understand your point here. Now it is time for revenge? Or this current crisis ant the governor's position is understandable? Most of the posters here who say they lived in Jos described it as being peaceful so exactly when did the other Northern tribes in Jos/Plateau get "cheated, slaughtered and oppressed"? |
@justfash Salam alaikum, sorry it took so long for me to address your workplace post. I am not an expert but even though it may be hard, I would say,do your work as thbough the other guy was not there. Now if it gets to be a lot more than you can handle, request an assistant (shebi you are HR?) You guys can create/uncreate positions. Pretend that you are happy doing the work alone, u will eventually be happy.Remember, the key word is "innovate" You should politely decline buying the aso ebi for the burial. You may visit and pay respects for the bereaved; the ooly thing I am sure of is you cannot pray for someone who died non muslim. @nanai I am far from perfect but will be happy to hear from you, maybe I will have suggestions that will lighten your load. Email me at alexclrksn@yahoo.com @jarus; goodluck with your new potential hajiya |
^^ It was BBC. Look it up yourself if you don't believe me. |
^^Please, some people here only think one way: NOT AT ALL. We cannot give up, we will continue to send out hopeful vibes because this is just really awful. Senseless killings and people asking for more. If your sister/brother/mother or father were in Jos right now, seriously, would you not sing a different tune? |
@aisha2 My prayers are with you and your people. It is unfortunate that most people do not actually value life (unless of course, it is their immediate family), more killing and counter killing is not going to be productive. Let us hope that leaders would be fair and just to the people. There are backers of this violence, but the common man bears the brunt of it. And while they kill each other, the leaders crony up to each other and share resources meant for everyone. The suffering continues! And where will the change come from? The future generation. This future generation; pray it is not this one on NL; looks even scarier than the current set of leaders. Blood, blood and more blood. When will it end? |
@Fhemmy The news that came out initially revealed that the violence was precipitated by "indigenes" who tried to prevent a Hausa (muslim) man from building his home; claiming that the Hausas are settlers. Please read a little bit of edoyad's posts. If he is a specimen of the wronged xtian, then I fear, a lot You totally missed the point. My "Absolutely" was sarcasm. I don't know if you ever lived in Northern Nigeria. If you did, you may be able to separate facts from propaganda. More violence will not solve the problem. This is why we have leaders, this is not a new occurrence in Nigeria, the worrisome part is that it repeats itself because the underlying socioeconomic decay is not addressed |
^^^^^Absolutely! ![]() |
@op I don't know how reliable pointblank news is, but I can tell you that this piece of information will not hurt the North more, it will hurt Nigeria. So be careful what you wish for. If any foreign country invades Nigeria today because of terrorists, the North is the least likely place that would be targeted. Think and it may become clear to you. The tribal clashes are so easily converted to religious. So the muslims are killing the Xtians; hmnnn, and the xtians just sit and watch. |
@Dawodu, C'mon, not even a word of prayer for kpof kpof? Ti a ba nsunkun, ka maa riran. A lot of innocent folks are hurt by this violence. |
