The irony - using PSquare's song to celebrate BAT's declaration as President by INEC. |
This is what structure guarantees you far as Nigerian elections are concerned. |
How far? I've been consoled oo. How about you? PrinceOfLagos: |
Hello, how's it going? justtryme: |
Lol. I thought Kaduna was in the bag for the structureless party? The votes they're were counting on from S/Kaduna has finally been diverted to PDP or will they say SOKAPU doesn't matter in the scheme of things? |
I mean, how's this relevant Sowore? It's this "wokeness" & wanting to be like the "oyinbos" that has led us partly to where we are as a country where young ones who still accord respect to their elders & respect culture are sneered at or made to feel like they're local. |
This Reverend Father fit surprise all of us win Benue governorship oo. Man seems to be a popular candidate there; don't know how his popularity will rub off on Tinubu's Presidential quest though. |
This is a massive project; saw the construction work sometime in 2019 while driving past en route Akwa Ibom & was hugely impressed by the magnitude of the project. The length of the fence alone will tell you so much money has gone into the project. Meanwhile, I thought it was a brainchild of Cosmas Maduka only to read just now that it's actually a project by the PMT founder, Sam Maduka Onyishi. |
Always blaming everyone else for their predicament. Please, did Simon Ekpa & his sit-at-home order start today? Better yet, did it start with the emergence of PitObi as the LP presidential candidate? No be here we dey wey many people for southeast dey jubilate say the sit-at-home dey effective? I bet if the contest was a two-way affair between AA & BAT all the people placing bounty on Simon Ekpa & accusing him of working for an unnamed presidential candidate would've onlooked or even tacitly supported him. Anyways, let me go back to minding my business. |
Comprehension is a real problem here; either that or people just want to be deliberately ignorant of facts printed in black and white. Yes, we may be experiencing some downturn (which is also affecting other countries even the "saner" climes) yet, the report didn't mention Nigeria. The countries mentioned were Egypt, Ghana & Senegal. Anyways, let me go back to minding my business. |
Whoever lent their vocals to that that Super Story theme song deserves an award & lifetime of royalties. Listening to that tune just now sent shivers down my spine. |
Funny when Baba said "how average man on the street wan take survive?" First of all, the "average" man won't go into an overpriced eatery & order for two portions of what ever it's they fancy when Mama Chinedu is just around one corner with fufu/garri & bitter leaf mixed with egusi & two ponmo/beef/goat meat for a little under N1,000 with free "pure water" to wash it down. Or is it Iya Barakat where three scoops of steaming amala with ewedu mixed with gbegiri & omi obe with roundabout, saki & "towel" will go down with less than N1,000? Oga, na you carry yourself go where your pocket reach, no dey cry on behalf of "average" men & women; no be dem send you message. Meanwhile, did that rice taste nice coz if it's by what I'm seeing, e no go sweet at all. |
Asiwaju has this funny way of handshake; amuses me all the time. |
Well, two wrongs don't make a right otherwise, if the President can disobey the Supreme Court & heavens didn't fall, the governors as well can make counter pronouncements against what he said & the heavens won't also fall. At the end of the day, na all man for himself, God for us all. |
Can the "propaganda" be properly defined please? One moment y'all are over the place hailing CBN for the Naira redesign policy because it'll affect Tinubu significantly more than any other person; the next moment y'all are all over the place claiming he has mopped up most of the cash in circulation hence the scarcity. What type of confusion is that, ehn? It's either Tinubu is badly affected by the redesign policy of the CBN or he isn't affected at all; it can't be both. |
Justbehave:Tbh, that's the silver bullet to this whole situation; any other solutions as being bandied around by this report is only a "whitewash". |
sarrki:This report is conflicting; in one breath it says the old notes should be allowed to move freely in & out of the bank & in another breath, says any of the old notes that go into a bank will not be recirculated. Pray tell, how does this help the present situation? So, business owners who make cash sales in millions of Naira ar expected to hoard them or what coz once they deposit in the bank, it's not coming out? Or maybe I don't even understand can someone please explain this report to me? Thank you. |
It's funny people think if Asiwaju had billions or even trillions of Naira, he won't be able to swap it "neatly" for the new bank notes; FYI, out of the about N2.7tn thereabouts outside the banking system (N3.23tn total in circulation), the CBN Governor in his last update on February 1, announced that they've achieved a 75% success rate of mop up (that's about N2.03tn, leaving an outstanding of N675bn as at the time he stated this). If you believe Tinubu's purported trillions or billions of Naira isn't part of that N2.03tn already mopped up, then, you must be delusional. Likewise, if you also think that if Tinubu needs the new Naira notes he can't lay his hands on them, you must be joking. Lest we forget, the real big men don't stash Naira notes due to volume, they stash their "loot" in hard currencies. Meanwhile, just so you know, the currency in circulation (in banking system and out of it) as at 2015 according to Emefiele was N1.4tn. So, let's assume Tinubu was so big a thief as Lagos governor & out of office, do you honestly believe that he alone held at least 1/10 of that figure which is around N140bn? Do you? Now, according to Emefiele, that figure (N1.4tn) more than doubled to N3.23tn as at October 2022 (just 7years after); except you believe a very high percentage of that was also stolen & held by Tinubu, then it means you're irredeemable. TL;DR? Summary is if you believe most of Tinubu's alleged loot is stashed in Naira or that he's the most affected by this Naira redesign policy, I've an Island that has snow falling throughout the year in Kogi State that I want to sell you. |
justtryme:Lol. You wish If you actually were, you wouldn't come up here to say so. But yeah, enjoy. |
If the speculation that Gov. Wike is indeed working for Tinubu, that's a confirmed 200,000 votes minimum from the governor (remember the appointment of 200,000 political aides/special assistants last November?) Now, imagine those number of aides are tasked with recruiting minimum 5 voters each, that's at least 1m votes for whoever Wike decides should have it; now, this wouldn't have made sense were the governorship election going APC or LP's way but seeing that the PDP governorship candidate is only but an appendage of Wike, those political aides will just have to play ball & dance to his dictates. Again, this is my view; you're entitled to yours. |
I'd love to read the official statement issued after this meeting because what I've just read is neither here nor there. "Make new Naira notes available or recirculate the old notes" is hogwash. CBN has daily insisted that it issues the new bank notes to DMBs; this claim is yet to be contradicted by the banks. If the NL report is indeed the position of the National Council of State, the CBN can keep claiming it has made the new bank notes available & will only just step up monitoring & compliance at the banks' level; the "suffering" continues nonetheless. It would've been more practical if the Council had proposed an extension of the validity of the "old" notes, urged the CBN through the NSPMC to print at least half of what has been mopped up from circulation and increase circulation of the unchanged lower denominations (N100, N50, N20, N10). This scarcity from my own understanding stems from the CBN's mopping up of almost all the currency in circulation (from N5 - N1000) whilst only reprinting or allowing in circulation, a tiny fraction of what was withdrawn. |
Just come out clean with us; you need someone to tell you that it's okay & he means no harm by being jealous of seeing you with other male companions or sending you photos of your old self you don't even remember? Abi no be wetin you wan hear be dat? Ma fren, if you don't block that MF right away on all avenues he's still able to communicate with or monitor you, that'll be you courting disaster. Even if he was your first love, saw you through school or bought you a car or even paid your rent for a couple of years that doesn't give him the right to stir up old feelings now that he's married. Remember that you'll also be married one day (if that's your desire) & you'd hate for your husband to flirt with his ex who'd be probably finer & sexier than you after one kid. Be properly guided please. |
I don't understand? Why not allow him to test his popularity at the polls & if he's disgraced, so be it! All this withdraw and join Obi because "Hausas won't vote" for Tinubu is nothing but blackmail; since Pa Adebanjo is so sure Obi/Datti will defeat Tinubu/Shettima, there's no need for all this talk. |
Maybe true, maybe false but you can't put it past Nigerian politicians to do the most ridiculous thing; GYB had a similar app used when he was campaigning for the APC presidential ticket. Anyways, I love "ThinkingCaps" by Jagaban's team; you get to learn/know more about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shetttima by taking the quiz in the app and winning airtime. Combined, I claimed over N10,000 airtime of various networks last night by taking part in the quiz. |
E be like na OBA go eventually govern AKS like dis; assuming his conviction isn't upheld by the higher courts (Appeal & Supreme). Which begs the question, why should a convict (pending the determination of his appeals) be on the ballot? |
Different strokes for different folks I guess coz I found the new N500 note the best followed by N1000 then N200 in that order. |
Omo, I felt for the guy. It'll take the grace of God & real love (if ever there was one between them) to comeback from this coz wtf : |
I don't see anything in these pictures that should warrant "a stir". Accused persons in Nigeria have been known to feign life-threatening symptoms or appear unkempt in court just to curry public sympathy & most importantly, to sway the trial judge into granting them bail on medical grounds; this is no exception. If you doubt, ask Melaye, Metuh, Dasuki, et al. Abba Kyari should just stand his trial in peace after all, many of his victims weren't allowed the simple courtesy of defending themselves in court before they were either summarily executed or thrown behind bars for crimes they may or may not have committed. |
Someone's post made FP some few days ago wherein he alluded that Nigerians have a comprehension problem; reading through some of the comments on this thread, he wasn't far off the mark. |
The irony of "...Ibrahim Lamorde, said to be one of the few honest policemen in Nigeria..." Fact is there's something about the way Nigerian systems are run whereby even if you were a Saint going in, it'd take the very grace of God not to be tainted. |
Lol. All this plays to APC's advantage. If you don't know, you don't know. |
The woman has demonstrated clear inability to provide a safe, loving, stable & humane space for her children therefore, they should be removed from her custody immediately. Secondly, her & her partner should be psychologically evaluated & if found to be normal, subjected to 100 strokes of the cane each by a security guard seconded from a boarding school but if found out to be mentally unstable, committed to a psychiatric home. Finally, they should just both be sentenced to 2yrs imprisonment each without option of fine irrespective of whether they're normal or not. |
