Showunmi is crying more than the bereaved. The Igbo people (exception of their political elite) have never looked up to government - especially at the centre - for help; they've throughout our history thrived successfully whether they receive a large, small or no patronage at all from successive governments. And to these particular appointments by PBAT, I haven't read or seen anywhere the Igbos themselves complained about it (maybe they did & I missed it) so Showunmi should stop playing devil's advocate. |
All eyes on the judiciary is an indirect way of telling the PEPT judges to declare the 3rd placed presidential candidate winner; a sublime threat that won't work! |
Akpabio's major problem is that he talks too much; maybe it's a good thing especially as there has been a lot of secrecy around the many allowances & "enjoyment tokens" earned by federal lawmakers. |
This MURIC man is an embarrassment to the age-long omoluabi principles. |
This is the summary of her BR interview. Girl seems to have a personality disorder with a sprinkle of Messianic complex. naptu2: |
Lol. Like I said when the news first made fp yesterday on NL, anyone who watched the lengthy interview could tell from a mile off that she lied about Nigeria wanting her to play for D'Tigress. These explanations should put all her false claims to rest once and for all. |
Ok, so I watched this interview up to the point where the talk about the incident with the Nigerian female BB team came up & these are my observations: 1. Liz is a sweet girl. I like how she's honest, open & confident about her views. 2. She's definitely not one to shy away from taking bold decisions about her life. 3. Oh! She likes money (who doesn't anyways?). 4. She's a diva who knows her worth! 5. She blames everyone else but herself for her predicaments. Every other team mate, opponent, coach, journalist or sports team owner just don't like her for no reason. 6. She has other money spinning ventures (you can even say BB is her hobby); who remembers this phrase from "Everybody Hates Chris": "...My husband has two jobs, I don't need this". Lol. 7. She lied sha when she said Nigeria needs her to switch allegiance from Australia (if you actually watched that part of the interview, you could easily tell.) 8. Drama follows her everywhere. You can call her a drama queen. |
Atiku always doing too much; who asked him if he skipped his breakfast or not? It mustn't always be about Atiku Abubakar, you know. |
Lol. We're one huge joke of a country walahi. How people - supposedly educated, exposed & in the political arena - would easily procure obviously fake certificates & parade them as a part of their educational accomplishments will never cease to amaze me. It's left for the President (who now appears to have been bitten by the Aso Rock bug that makes leaders deaf & dumb to public outcry) to do the needful by withdrawing the nomination of his son in-law. Methinks it's also proper to attach the DSS findings to each ministerial nominees' name when they're being sent to the Senate for screening because all these scandals are an indictment on the service. |
Nigerian politics is a very dirty game; the dirtier you are, the higher your chances of being more powerful. APC!! Gandollar!! Gandollar!! Renewed shege!! ***MODIFIED*** Will APC chieftains eventually get fed up & just remain indifferent to whatever happens in the party? Because this type of politics - where Tinubu gets what Tinubu wants every time irrespective of how any other person feels - has an expiration date. He wanted his choice as Senate President and Speaker HoR and he got both by badgering his anointed candidates' opponents to submission and those who didn't submit, suffered & still suffering humiliation. He wanted Ganduje as National Chairman and even though there were initial pockets of dissent within the party of his choice, everyone soon submitted to his wish. This type of politics may've worked to his favor in Lagos State but at the national level? I doubt it will in the long run. |
That'll also mean he's "unfair" to Bayo Onanuga, Fashola, FFK, Magnus Abe, Binani, etc. Thing is, not everyone will get a cabinet appointment but there are still other positions such as ambassadorial postings & chairmanship of very "juicy" boards that haven't been announced yet. Besides, patience is the name of the game; if e no reach you today, e fit reach you tomorrow or make e no even reach you at all sef. |
Couldntfigurean:Keep shifting the goal post. You asked for one road or bridge then I named several roads. But that's even by the way; whether he built Lagos or not, he's the President of Nigeria today and there's nothing you or your ilks can do about it! End! |
Couldntfigurean:Kudirat Abiola Road, Oregun was dualised by Tinubu admin as Lagos gov. Over two decades later, the road still stands strong without porthole. He also constructed/dualized & modernized Awolowo Road, Ikoyi; Akin Adesola Road, Victoria Island; Adeolu Odeku Road, Victoria Island; Agege Motor Road; Ikotun-Igando Road; Yaba-Itire-Lawanson-Ojuelegba Road; LASU-Iba Road, Ojo; Ajah-Badore Road, Eti-Osa; Oba Sekumade Road, Ikorodu; Adetokunbo Ademola Road, among others. How about the transformation of Ahmadu Bello Way (only someone with amnesia will forget how the bar beach used to flood that area with the FG literally pumping billions worth of sand every year into the sea all to no avail) or how the entire stretch of Ozumba Mbadiwe used to look before he became governor? Man isn't a saint or even close to being perfect but to suggest that he didn't build a single road is a lie taken too far. |
Exactly! People digging up old tweets like Archaeologists excavating fossils are just wasting their time; it's all about interests. Okealaaye: |
Only political neophytes don't know that in politics, there are no permanent friends nor enemies, only permanent interests. Besides, it's evident from some of his appointments that Tinubu doesn't really take to heart what people said about him in the past; his SA on Social Media, Segun Dada in the past tweeted worst things about Asiwaju but today, they're working together. That's the kind of person he is; a man who doesn't judge people by their past indiscretions long as they have something to offer. |
Except privately controlled buildings such as malls, plazas, supermarkets etc that have elevators/lifts, I generally make it a rule not to use the lifts existing in public buildings coz most of them are just disasters waiting to happen. It's unfortunate the young house doctor was said to be on 10th floor & was only coming down to receive food she'd ordered for when the tragic incident occurred. May her soul RIP & woe betides anyone who attempts to sweep this particular matter under the already saturated rug. |
My best guess would be that he's looking to contest the governorship primaries of the LP in Edo State. Long term scenario would be contesting as a NASS candidate for the LP in Edo come 2027. |
Interesting. MT: |
Lol. That's just the summary of the entire rejection letter. They were politely telling the applicant they didn't consider them established enough in Nigeria to grant them a Visa. inoki247: |
I think this refusal has more to do with how some Nigerians have bastardized, tainted & subverted at every turn the processes for Visa applications. Yes, the insecurity situation and socio-economic problems are largely a leadership problem, the forgery of documents, padding of bank statements etc on the other hand, are an individual problem. The takeaway for me from the rejection letter is that anyone who's seeking a Schengen Visa or Visa to any other country of their choice should take note of the points listed therein & ensure they provide genuine, solid and incontrovertible evidences of their grounded establishment in Nigeria before applying. |
kokoA:After all is said and done, that's just the underlying cause of his loss at the 2023 presidential elections. That buildup to that particular elections exposed AA as an overrated politician. He always seemed to be a Maverick before now because he never encountered a major opponent but when he became confronted with not just one but two, three solid (Kwankwaso, PO, ABAT, Wike & co.) opposition? Man crumbled like a pack of cards. |
"Whatsoever a man sows, he shall reap". Atiku, Saraki, Tambuwal, Amaechi, Kwankwaso et al sowed betrayal, propaganda, back stabbing, greed etc. in 2015 all in a bid to disgrace & send the then President (their fellow PDP member & leader at the time) packing from Aso Rock. The seat of power they all ganged up to send the former occupier packing will therefore forever elude them; at each step they think they're a step closer to entering the Presidential Villa, betrayers, back stabbers & greedy mfers will arise to pose a stumbling block on their way. Personally, I'm glad to be witnessing this moment. |
For the first time I think, Abians got it right with their choice of governor. I wish Dr. Alex Otti & his team the very best; Abians deserve a very good deal. |
The DSS inspite of its formidable role in internal security interventions, has since become a joke & lawless organization. Tueh! |
Nothing pisses me off more than seeing folks wear tops/caps with "SF" emblazoned on them. The groom even has a "Special Forces" tag & I can bet they don't know zilch about what it means to be SF operators. Anyways, congratulations to the newly Weds. |
LANRYUS:Sometimes, I think that one big Pharma created a new drug that makes people lose every sense of their reasoning & used the people that supported a particular candidate who came second to last as its guinea pig coz I don't see how an adult will suspend their own thought process to swallow hook, line & sinker what another adult like them said/posted without independent verification. |
Maybe this "...With much respect to the petitioners, one would have expected them to have a rethink on proceeding further with this petition after the delivery of the decision of the Supreme Court in Oyetola v. Adeleke (supra), a decision which covers the field and clinically considers all issues which the petitioners are now agitating before this Honourable Court, including their failure, not only to tender, but identify or attempt to examine through any of their ‘experts’, or witnesses any of the BVAS machines deployed by INEC in the course of the election" extract from Chief Wole Olanipekun's written address didn't make it to the final copy submitted to the PREPC but I read it on another thread here on NL. Anyways, if that judgment were to be cited (which has clearly been referenced by Olanipekun (SAN) & his team), I would refer anyone with an unbiased opinion to Google what a fellow Igbo, lawyer, political cum AriseTV analyst & purported fencist - Dr. Sam Amadi - (he supports PO but pretends to be neutral) tweeted when Supreme Court delivered its verdict in the Oyetola v Adeleke case in Osun; in simple terms, the man said while people were jubilating that Oyetola lost in court thereby validating the judiciary as an impartial arbiter, the ingredients of the judgment doesn't bode well for PO & Atiku. |
The problem with barring people with criminal cases still in court (ie yet to be ruled on by a judge or judges as the case may be) is that even someone like PitObi wouldn't have been on the ballot this last election because all it would take is one jobless hireling to institute a corruption case (read Pandora Papers) against him in court; ditto for Tinubu, Atiku & every other politician that contested for one position or the other. Besides, that suggestion is against the global norm that recognizes every accused is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. |
This should be the easiest case in the history of PREPC in Nigeria; instead of coming with copies of the result sheets signed by their agents at all the PUs across Nigeria with a tally of the votes their respective candidates got, they were busy presenting 18,000 blurred result sheets uploaded to the irev. Is it that they can't produce the result sheets signed by their agents or what? Noticed how Tinubu's legal team even purportedly discovered over 10,000 of his votes in Kano were discounted & therefore prayed the court to add it to his declared tally? That's what I expected the petitioners to do among others instead of relying on what's on or not on irev as if they didn't have agents keeping a record of what their party polled at the various PUs. Anyways, the judiciary should be ready for a whirlwind of attacks from those who will feel "cheated" when their petitions are tossed into the trash bin. |
It's an embarrassment to whatever DSS represents that after arresting, shaming & detaining the former CBN Governor, all they could come up with as charges against him are illegal gun possession. Tueh. |
casualobserver:Obviously, people are easily swayed by emotions. The said son wasn't just plucked from somewhere to suddenly become a FHC Judge; he must've been a State High Court Judge or something along that line before he was elevated to a FHC. Anyways, whatever makes them sleep better at night. |
