I also listed Bayo Ojo & Eyitayo Lambo (forgot about Kola Jamodu & David Jemibewon) and if you know how powerful as Ministers these men were in their time, you would know it's not by simply occupying "strong" office.
Do you remember who the works & housing minister was just before Fashola? Or the minister for power? A political office is only as powerful or effective as the person that occupies it.
I can tell you for free that Bayo Ojo & Eyitayo Lambo were members of Obasanjo's inner caucus & nothing could be more powerful than that; having unfettered access to the number 1 citizen, not just anyone but OBJ!
And yes, Minister for Justice is a powerful office anywhere in the world & if you're in doubt, the present occupier of the office in Nigeria is a case in point.

But is this really true given the situation of kogi.

Kogi state is composed of minority tribes who do not have strong representatives at the federal. How many strong kogi ministers have there been since 1999.

The federal investments in kogi such as the ajoakuta steel are moribund.The state investments like the dangote cement factory are doing relatively well but it's not enough.

Kogi population is relatively low with different tribes who stay more in their localities than in the capital, that's why I think lokoja is small.

Most kogi people either reside in Abuja or in their hometowns not in lokoja.

Have been in kogi before like over ten years back,I think the state is cool and quite organised. It just needs work on the roads which are particularly bad and clean up.

Lokoja is not bad as people paint it,most people that travel through lokoja only see the outskirts and assume that's how the whole town is.

The bolded isn't entirely true. Have you forgotten Eyitayo Lambo or Bayo Ojo (SAN)? These men durinh their times in the FEC were powerful ministers, occupied juicy ministries & had the then President's ears.

For National Assembly, men like Tunde Ogbeha, Dino Melaye & Smart Adeyemi by all means were not push overs in the Senate.

There are others too numerous to mention.

Spent my Christmas last year in Uyo & the Christmas village was the place to be every evening after work; funny enough, there are Akwa Ibomites who have lived most of their lives in the state but have never experienced the Christmas village.

1. Sanwo-Olu will win a second term.

2. Tinubu or Atiku will the presidential; if it eventually goes to a run-off like some are predicting, Tinubu will carry the day.

Secondly, the posters though carried the LP logo, were for a House of Representatives candidate in Osun; not the party's presidential candidate.

Thirdly, hth did Tinubu & Obi's names make it into the conversation because these attacks clearly had nothing to do with either men, at least, not the former as Oyetola (his cousin) is no longer governor of Osun & the thugs were identitied as known PDP associates, not APC.

Finally, irrespective of how we view the candidates, only one of them will emerge winner next year by God's grace & the will of the people; no amount of propaganda, name calling, lies or slander will change whose destiny it is to become Nigeria's next president after PMB.

This is how you people keep dragging Nigeria back by not telling the masses the truth. So FRSC should have gone to their homes and carry out brain surgery on them for them to know that is wrong for them to squeeze themselves smoked dishes in that small car right. They more we keep transferring everything to government authorities, the more we are telling them that we are animals that need to be cow around. This is pure stupidity on the people and those alive needs to know that those who died killed themselves by their stupidity so that such won't repeat itself again. If you blame the authorities then those alive won't see anything wrong in what those people did but will only focus on what the authorities fail to do which may not be the case.

4 occupants in front (1 to the drivers left & two to the right)

4 occupants in the back.

4 occupants packed in the boot.

If indeed an occupant is missing, it means there were either 5 occupants in the back or 5 in the boot.

Those guys don't value their lives especially along that Kano route; it's common sight to see over loaded vehicles on that route.

Over loaded vehicle. Under normal circumstances, such a vehicle shouldn't take more than 6 occupants including the driver but here it was, occupied by probably 12 or even 13 persons (3 rescued alive, 9 confirmed dead at hospital & possible 1 occupant unaccounted for yet).

FRSC and other relevant agencies have failed in their duties in this regards.

2007 presidential elections had the major candidates from the North so, we can conveniently excuse that one.

However, for 2011 the major candidates were Goodluck Jonathan (PDP) & Muhammadu Buhari (CPC) In that election, the Southwest cast a combined vote of 2.78m for PDP, while CPC got a total 321,618. Nuhu Ribadu of then ACN got a bloc vote of 1.36m from the region. Voter turnout for entire southwest was 32.9%.

In 2015, PDP which fielded Jonathan garnered a total votes of approx. 1.8m from Southwest while APC (Buhari) received 2.4m votes approx.

Now, your comment states that "...Yorubas as a people has never voted any southern candidate completely who is not from their tribe" & my question to you is since 2007, how many Yoruba politicians of note were on the ballot? And for the southsouth which you so boldly claim; since 2007, how many votes did you guys cast for presidential candidates who were not from your region?

It's a known fact that Yorubas vehemently rejected Obasanjo in the 1999 & 2003 presidential polls so much that during the latter, he'd to cut deals with Afenifere & then AD (or was it already AC then) to support his candidature; that was the election that launched Tinubu to prominence as he was able to see through Baba's deception as he was the only one among Southwest governors that survived PDP's political onslaught.

You are within your rights to not support a Yoruba presidential candidate but do so without casting aspersions on an entire ethnic group as what you accused the Yorubas of may also be said of your Bini people as well.

I'm Bini and nothing on earth, I repeat it, nothing on earth will make me cast my vote for anyone from southwest at the national level of Nigeria's election.

The 2015 election exposed what no book of history will ever tell you about southern Nigeria. The Yorubas as a people has never voted any southern candidate completely who is not from their tribe.

Many of them will come here to try to prove me wrong but check the election results from 2007 to date. The result will show you that if Tinubu isn't on the ballot, they would vote another northern candidate against any other southern candidate. That is the fact.

Some of you still don't get it; there's a huge possibility that the "youths" who registered during the last round of CVR are students & if you've seen the academic calendar of majority of the public universities, you'll notice there's no break when the 2023 general elections (Feb 25) will take place.

If that's really the case, it means many students will be away from their polling units thereby denying them the opportunity to exercise their right to vote; coupled with the economic realities on ground, how many of such students have money to travel (to & fro) to their respective polling units & how much more would be willing to take the risk (hopefully the security situation on our roads would've gotten better by then).

The idea that a vote for either Tinubu or Atiku is a vote against Nigeria's future is a blackmail that won't work; same applies to the claim that anyone who votes for either candidates has been paid to do so.

There's absolutely no foolproof guarantee that either of Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso or Tinubu is the saviour we need so all the projection that one man wields the wand to solve all our problems while the others are going there for their own selfish interests is also a fallacy.

At the end of the day, only one man will emerge winner & that'll be the person majority of Nigerian voters cast their ballots for be it Kwankwaso, Obi, Atiku or Tinubu.

Bad is an understatement. Abuja to Zaria before that used to take max 3hrs 20mins now takes nothing < 6hrs with prayer & fasting.

You see that scrapping they did ehn, that's what made driving that route hellish for motorists. The security fear is understandable but motorists are the ones bearing the brunt.

Julius berger disappeared from that road immediately after the attack on the train.

They just scrapped off the coal tar from the road and left most parts of the road in a deplorable state and disappeared.

One shovel that belongs to JB cannot be found on that road.

The last one week has been terrible for motorist on that road.

I traveled through that route Sunday evening & it wasn't this bad inspite the rain that fell that day. From indications, the Abuja-Kaduna section of that expressway has been abandoned by Julius Berger.

Omo, I was caught in this traffic logjam & it wasn't even funny. Between Rijana & just before Jere, we spent close to 4hrs trapped in between articulated vehicles, meandering through bush parts & what not; it was a miracle & thanks to the driver that we didn't spend any more time than we already had on that road.

That Gandollar scandal really ruined Ganduje's reputation otherwise, he would easily make top 5 Nigerian governors making an indelible mark on infrastructure developments.

If you don't see this project physically, trust me, you won't appreciate what Gov. Ganduje did at that place.

2. Talk to him to move to Abuja with you. You are already settled with a job and stable so he too needs to support you by joining you to start looking for job opportunities at Abuja.

3. If he insists in staying in his comfort zone (Zaria) without making effort to get a job, please leave him and go back to Abuja and continue your job.

4. A man cannot be talking of marriage when he does not have a stable income. I was a teacher earning 30k in the east when I met my wife in Lagos. My wife was earning twice my salary. I had move down to Lagos because we wanted to get married. We postponed our wedding by 3 months until I got another job that was paying 45k. That was 8 years ago. No matter how little the salary is, let your man have something doing.
