Abi na wetin dem tell am to do to "renew" him jazz? |
Perhaps he would have backed his assertion with one or two biblical verses that specifically mention betting/gambling as a sin. |
Funny. You can't lost what you never had. |
If APC is really a "dying party" like someone opined earlier, why should it concern anybody for that matter? Is it your dying? Okay, agreed they're "renting" people to fill up campaign venues pray, tell, how's that anyone's concern? The way some of you take panadol over a party that's dying's headache is akin to someone who says they'd never have anything to do with a sex worker but get annoyed/agitated whenever they see someone else associate with the sex worker. |
[s]My gut feeling is there's not enough of the new currencies minted or even in circulation. Some of the major reasons cited by CBN for introducing the new currency include strengthening cashless policy & reducing the volume of cash outside bank vaults; if that were the case indeed, what that would mean is[/s] I stopped making sense ![]() On a serious note however, the CBN can't play the ostrich here; many banks have not received these new notes & where they're available in the MDBs, only very very very few was released by the apex bank. lsoul: |
I'm not an Economist so I don't know for sure how this policy is going to turnaround our economic fortunes but you see the political angle to it? CBN really carried some politicians who have looted our commonwealth & stashed them away in their personal vaults across the country Handicap; if not for unscrupulous banking officers that are still helping these thieving politicians to circumvent this new policy, most of them would've been crying blood by now. |
It's not even up for debate. APC got it right with Betta Edu & Dayo Israel as National Women Leader & National Youth Leader respectively; the work ethic both have displayed during this election cycle is unrivaled. |
Nigerians!!! Must we leave everything till the dying minutes? Why do we like leaving important things undone only to start make frantic efforts later when it becomes cumbersome or too hectic to do? When that happens, we now turnaround to blame the system & politicians. I just returned from my ward collection center in the heart of Abuja & while the INEC officials are on ground, polite, professional & diligent in their duties with complement of an armed security personnel on alert, only very few people were trickling in to collect their PVCs (I saw so many PVCs waiting to be collected by their owners); this was the situation as at when I was there. These officials will be at the various designated collection centers nationwide everyday (Saturdays & Sundays incl.) from 6th - 15th January 2023 let's take advantage of this opportunity to collect our PVCs & vote in the political parties of our choice. |
pacespot:Spot on. The LP is living in delusion that it has any foothold in the North meanwhile it doesn't even have a toe-hold there. The closest the party will come to not being beaten mercilessly in that region will be the votes from Northcentral which in itself, will be akin to what PMB got in the Southeast in the 2015 polls. Unfortunately, time is too short for the party to make any significant inroads in the North moreso thay NNPP is very much in play there: if only egos were set aside & Kwankwaso partnered with Obi on a joint ticket the outcome would be different. |
I wish una best of luck oo. Meanwhile, my observation from all these "polls" (in spite of the reality on ground) is they're primed to build groundswell opposition to any eventual outcome of the 2023 presidential elections that doesn't produce the projected political party as winner. Structure or no structure, this forthcoming election is between the twin evils of APC or PDP; any election result that declares either Atiku or Tinubu as winner will be greeted with widespread allegations of rigging resulting in civil unrest - for a while. The North decides which party occupies the presidential villa & no matter what anyone says, projects or analyses, Peter Obi won't get up to 15% of entire votes cast in that region (majority of his votes from there will most likely be from Northcentral but you see Northeast & Northwest - the latter especially - it'll be a battle between APC, PDP & NNPP in that order. What am I even saying? Please, ignore me. |
Baba needs funds to resuscitate/sustain his dying Eemjm Hotel & remain relevant otherwise, he wouldn't say this. Anyways, the people will decide if power should remain North or go South (whether it's SW or SE, we'll also know when the time comes). |
I see some NLers are faulting this endorsement by Miyetti Allah calling the organization a "terrorist" enabler but they forget that some of the Fulani herdsmen that make up this body will also vote for PDP, NNPP & even LP; or don't these parties need all the votes they can muster? Meanwhile, politics (elections) is a game of numbers, whoever has the highest wins the contest irrespective of where the votes come from long as they're valid so, why the complaints? |
At this moment the murderous cop will wish he could turn back the hands of time to exercise more restraint; to have never cocked his rifle to shoot a defenseless & law abiding expectant mother of twins thereby killing her in the process & her unborn babies. He would also wish for many things but it won't change the fact that he's going to face the hangman's noose only difference is while his victim never got a chance to say goodbye to loved ones and possibly make peace with her creator, this trigger-happy, smirk faced murderer will enjoy the courtesy of his favourite meal, say goodbye to his loved ones & get baptised/confess his sins before he's executed. Sad the magnitude of sorrow his decision has caused an entire family & the nation at large. May the late Bolanle Raheem rest in peace! |
Few times I've seen Dogara Yakubu at Goshen - I think - serving as a Pastor, his physical appearance easily fools (looks of piety, gentle smile, humble etc) but beneath that facade, is a man driven by wild ambitions, selfish, disloyal & two-faced individual. Very little difference between him & Babachir Lawal. |
Do you want to take advantage of the coconut value chain properly as well get access to vast opportunities (hybrid seedlings, expert opinions, market, government funding opportunities, etc)? I suggest you become a member of NACOPPMAN (that's the umbrella body for anything coconut in Nigeria). |
Back then, I used to know this soldier "AY" in Zaria. Dude loved to drink & most times, I wondered if his superiors weren't taking note. However, much as he loved drinking & getting high on alcohol, whenever he was in his uniform (either during short breaks from patrol or immediately thereafter) & I offered him beer, he always declined requesting me to keep it till he pulls of the uniform (when he's off duty). Can't say the same for members of the NPF; majority policemen lack self-control & discipline that's why you'll see that in most instances they're always the ones caught on camera getting drunk, smoking igbo or staking bets in betting shops (which is a personal thing by the way but why do it in your uniform?) Etc |
It's foolhardy for them to believe Wike & his group will declare support for Asiwaju; if anything, such an open declaration of support for the APC candidate will destabilise the party especially in the affected states as well as alienate the party in some parts of the North where already, the Rivers governor & the G-5 are being perceived as anti-North or trying to retaliate what was done to GEJ in 2015. |

wiseone28:Yeah. The location is just another empty piece of bushy land until it comes to live in December. You should try go there one of these days perhaps Christmas Day even. Cheers. |
benqo01:Perfect. Enjoy! |
LUAN1:You're not alone. Last year, I was surprised to learn that all members of my staff (born & bred in Akwa Ibom) had never been to Christmas Village until I took them there. They'd so much fun, we didn't leave till around 1:30a.m -2a.m thereabouts. |
benqo01:Make sense is an understatement. You'll enjoy every bit of your time there. Just ensure you don't take the lonely/bush paths; the path facing the CBN area along Udo Udoma. Go through the main entrance via Full Life Church. |
babasolution:This was your assertion "Kogi state is composed of minority tribes who do not have strong representatives at the federal. How many strong kogi ministers have there been since 1999?" and I went on to list not only "strong representatives" but influential senators from "minority" tribe in Kogi. I also listed Bayo Ojo & Eyitayo Lambo (forgot about Kola Jamodu & David Jemibewon) and if you know how powerful as Ministers these men were in their time, you would know it's not by simply occupying "strong" office. Do you remember who the works & housing minister was just before Fashola? Or the minister for power? A political office is only as powerful or effective as the person that occupies it. I can tell you for free that Bayo Ojo & Eyitayo Lambo were members of Obasanjo's inner caucus & nothing could be more powerful than that; having unfettered access to the number 1 citizen, not just anyone but OBJ! And yes, Minister for Justice is a powerful office anywhere in the world & if you're in doubt, the present occupier of the office in Nigeria is a case in point. |
babasolution:The bolded isn't entirely true. Have you forgotten Eyitayo Lambo or Bayo Ojo (SAN)? These men durinh their times in the FEC were powerful ministers, occupied juicy ministries & had the then President's ears. For National Assembly, men like Tunde Ogbeha, Dino Melaye & Smart Adeyemi by all means were not push overs in the Senate. There are others too numerous to mention. |
Abeg, make dem no spoil Christmas Village for the rest of us. Spent my Christmas last year in Uyo & the Christmas village was the place to be every evening after work; funny enough, there are Akwa Ibomites who have lived most of their lives in the state but have never experienced the Christmas village. |
Two things will happen in Lagos & Nigeria in the next general elections: 1. Sanwo-Olu will win a second term. 2. Tinubu or Atiku will the presidential; if it eventually goes to a run-off like some are predicting, Tinubu will carry the day. Okay, the rantings can begin. |
Reading some of the comments & it's evident there's some literacy issues or just plain lazy reading among NLers. First, the report clearly states (based on the victims' own accounts) that the attackers are known PDP thugs. Secondly, the posters though carried the LP logo, were for a House of Representatives candidate in Osun; not the party's presidential candidate. Thirdly, hth did Tinubu & Obi's names make it into the conversation because these attacks clearly had nothing to do with either men, at least, not the former as Oyetola (his cousin) is no longer governor of Osun & the thugs were identitied as known PDP associates, not APC. Finally, irrespective of how we view the candidates, only one of them will emerge winner next year by God's grace & the will of the people; no amount of propaganda, name calling, lies or slander will change whose destiny it is to become Nigeria's next president after PMB. |
OK. Iykolysis: |
Why so triggered? Anyways, Collins Dictionary online defines "fall over themselves" thus: If you say that people are falling over themselves to do something, you mean that they are very enthusiastic about doing it. So yes, if BAT or Atiku wins the polls next year, Catholic Bishops among other religious clerics, will fall over themselves to shake either one of the winner's hands. historic:
|
Lol. Same Bishops will request audience with the President should it turn out to be BAT; they'll also fall over themselves to shake his hands & take photos. Anyways, whatever rocks their boats. |
Someone just said it's not FRSC's responsibility maybe they've realised it too in the North reason they don't do anything about it. Bantu10: |
Going by this your warped analogy, Nigeria's security forces should leave armed bandits/kidnappers/armed robbers/criminal gangs etc alone since they cannot be followed to their various hideouts to "carry out brain surgery on them for them to know that it is wrong for them to" be kidnapping, killing, maiming, raping and doing whatever evils it is they do. The more we keep transferring everything to the security forces, the more we are telling these terrorists and their likes that they're animals that need to be "cow around". I hope you see how this all makes sense, huh? Okbye! alizma: |

This is the raw truth, CBN don't have enough of the new notes to give banks yet. They should stop painting it as if it's the banks fault, have you ever thought of this? If the old notes were exchanged for the new ones by CBN to banks why on earth will banks load old notes?
