Omo men, I ngl, the management of Transcorp Hotel put financial considerations over the safety, peace, tranquility & standard of the Hilton, which is renowned worldwide. Instead of holding the screening at the congress hall (ie if they'd to accept hosting the APC screening exercise for presidential aspirants) where aspirants can walk in & out without creating a scene such as what's shown in this videos, it appears they Transcorp rented a venue that involves the aspirants & their supporters taking over the lobby/reception area/banking area of the hotel. Unfortunately, no one will be held liable for this. Tinubu's was yesterday, today's PYO, who's next? |
Way to go, Governor Soludo. May peace reign in Anambra & Nigeria as a whole. We can't continue killing human beings like animals & expect their blood not to cry out for vengeance. |
handie:I get your point but what happened in the USA where two "Bushes" or "Adams" emerged Presidents at different times? Our own dey our body but this isn't peculiar to Nigeria. |
It's very easy to blame Prof. Ayade alone but people forget there was a Liyel Imoke before him; both share the blame for the astronomical decline of Cross River State as Nigeria's leading tourist destination especially the incumbent governor. A pity such promising site was abandoned to rot. |
The people suggesting a crossover to NNPP with Kwankwaso as running mate don't really know how politics works; it's either he joins the party as a running mate to Kwankwaso or a different platform entirely where he will run unopposed as the candidate. Having said that, Mr. Peter Obi won't even come 2nd in the presidential elections because the votes to make that happen are going to either of PDP or APC. |
Much as the Northeast & Southeast deserve the Presidency more than any other geo-political zones, they won't have it on a platter of Gold. Instead of building strong & enduring political bridges & campaigining (this is where much kudos must go to Mr. Peter Obi), politicians like Orji Uzor Kalu are waiting for the presidential tickets of the APC & PDP to be micro-zoned to Southeast otherwise, they won't bother contesting. Let it be known that inspite of the fact that the PDP had a gentleman agreement to micro-zone its ticket to the Southwest in 1999, former VP Alex Ekwueme contested against him & almost clinched the ticket if not for some last minute political horse-trading at the convention grounds in Jos, Plateau State. Same man contested against the then incumbent (Olusegun Obasanjo) in 2003 & came a distant second. So, inspite the fact the Southwest was favoured in 1999 & 2003, it didn't stop an aspirant from the Southeast from trying his luck; Orji Uzor Kalu should've toed the path of Mr. Peter Obi by campaigning/soliciting for the delegates' votes at the forthcoming primaries, instead of giving up even before the race began. |
Okay. |
During my NYSC (2010/2011), the INEC's use of computers (bio-metric capturing) was introduced & we were the first batch to be deployed for the CVR exercise. In the community/PU I was assigned as RO, the political leaders there met with me with offers of money, women (said if there was any girl in the community I saw & liked, they would offer her to me), fresh palm wine etc just so I should register children as young as 5years, as voter. When I complained that the child is too young/below the age, they said I shouldn't worry, they'll dress them as adults & I should capture them like that. Well, I refused. It earned me rebuke coz some of my fellow "corpers" in other PUs were doing it. It got so bad that one of their sons who was an SA to the governor then had to come back home to the community to meet me; man basically threatened me to do what the community wanted. What am I trying to say? Whoever will be deployed as census/enumerating officers should not be from the state they're assigned; that way, they'll be able to protect the integrity of whatever data they come up with. Say someone from Enugu is deployed to Kaduna, you don't expect the person to start counting cows & goats as part of the population & vice versa. Anything short of that, whatever figures the NPC comes up with will be a subject of debate: e go shock some people say Borno population go equal Lagos, surpass am or just be a few thousands short. |
Anybody wey carry Naija politicians matter for head like gala go just end up for inside dirty gutter; as e be so, Yari & Matawalle don sign agreement troway Kabiru Marafa for inside shalanga. Meanwhile, Marafa thought him & Yari had become buddies with Gov. Matawalle as their common foe. God forbid this type of politics. |
Honestly, I'm beyond perplexed. Man just killed the animal for no tangible reason. Until the mods stop pushing this sort of barbaric acts to front page, attention-seeking Nairalanders & their enablers will not put a stop to their craze for seeking out & killing wild animals for the internet. SeriouslySense: |
This is an insight into the average Nigerian's thinking; destroy first, ask questions later. You weren't going to eat it yet you killed it, to what end please? To upload on Nairaland so you can make front page? This reptile was most likely around its natural habitat, didn't pose any immediate risk to you or those around you but you thought the best thing to do was to kill it coz your initial thinking was it's a monitor lizard? I hope you're happy & fulfilled now? |
If you leave Naija politicians, they'll also visit the late Umar Musa Yar'adua's grave to seek his spirit's blessings to contest. Meanwhile, one thing this visit of Gov. Wike to the Yar'adua Matriarch & Gov. Masari has confirmed is anyone who aspires to govern this country must grovel at the feet of the North if for nothing but to demonstrate fealty. Gov. Wike visited Edo, the state of his fellow PDP & south-south governor but contrary to all known protocols, he shunned the government house due to their disagreement. However, same Wike has visited Kano & now Katsina in the North (both APC controlled states) but he dared not contravene protocol by failing to inform those states' governors of the purpose for his visit. Why? He knows he cannot afford to treat the North with the same disdain he treated his brother governor down South. |
Very likely, most of the folks in the comments of those screenshots jubilating over the killing of their kinswoman & her husband-to-be for the sole reason they're members of the Nigerian Army, are not even based in the Southeast. Sadly, when the situation degenerates into a full-blown crises, it's the vulnerable (the young, old, women & children) as well as the economy (businesses, infrastructure, schools, hospitals etc) of the region that'll be at the receiving end. The north toed a similar path just because they despised GEJ & his government, today, the former president is enjoying his life in retirement with full compliments of benefits deserving someone of his status while the north is tethering on the brink of collapse due to insecurity that they helped to breed. |
Except God decides in his infinite wisdom to call Atiku to himself, there's no aspirant in the PDP that can defeat him in a primary election, not Obi, not Wike & definitely not either of Tambuwal or Saraki. Had the other aspirants backed one of them 100% to face the former VP in a contest, they would've stood a chance of stopping him but with each one believing they can do it on their own, the coast has been cleared for an Atiku victory. |
Lovely view. However, the sight could've been more beautiful if the surrounding areas (the red/brown soil) had lush green carpet grass. Meanwhile, shey dem swear for our leaders say make dem no construct roads with closed drainages ni? |
The Lion is well-fed, at least. |
DAwest7:Aswear, I'd rather Mrs. Ebele Obiano emerges APC presidential aspirant than a Gov. Fayemi or even Gov. Yahaya Bello; at least we know she's good at something, can't say the same for these other clowns. |
This summit is DoA. The aspirants should all be allowed to test their popularity in the primaries & if it means another region benefits from the lack of unity, so be it. My only regret is this may translate to another presidential aspirant of northern origin clinching the APC ticket instead of an aspirant from the South (in this particular instant - that the Southwestern aspirants are all looking out for their own interests - Southsouth or Southeast). |
If Ado-Ekiti the Ekiti State capital, in the last four years alone is used as a yardstick to measure Gov. Fayemi's performance in office, then he wouldn't even qualify to run a small local government area how much more a country as complex, diverse & multi-faceted as Nigeria. Gov. Fayemi is a failure who thinks governance is all about speaking grammar & appearing sophisticated. |
czarr:I want to sell a rice mill, can you handle that? |
And the Nigerian legal system gave Tonto Dikeh custody of her son with Churchill? This lady clearly is disturbed & her mental imbalance has reared its head on several occasions - sadly on the internet too. I hope she gets the help she requires very quickly because how such a promising actress went from the peak of her acting career to this, isn't ordinary. |
Naija politics is the more you see, less you understand. Did I see Sen. Stella Oduah? Did she quietly decamp to her original party (PDP) after publicly crossing over to the APC or was it a typo by the reporter? |
Typical clickbait... She wasn't on a hospital bed, didn't appear in pain or give any hint of ill-health just a photo or photos without make-up & the question of whether she's "sick" pops up. |
Anyone who believed PDP or the "four horsemen" were going to pick a consensus candidate from among them is delusional. This was expected & it becomes evident now, more than ever before that the race for the presidential ticket of the opposition party is a two-way race between Gov. Nyesom Wike & H.E former Vice President, Alh. Atiku Abubakar. Saraki, Bala, Tambuwal, Udom, Obi & every other pretender will not come close to those two heavyweights. |
Reads more like beer parlour gossip. Anyways, primaries is in some few weeks ahead, we'll all see the "powers" the over-hyped "cabal" has in determining who emerges the APC's presidential flag bearer. |
Still looking for the "shocked" but I never see am till now. |
So, someone named their scheme "Poyoyo Investment" & people still went & poured their money into it? Lol. |
Not that I would be surprised if he returns to the APC with the shege his eyes has seen in PDP but the question is very valid. WTF is Obaseki doing at that gathering? Unigrad: |
Was it progressive governors forum or NGF because if it's the former, I don't know what Obaseki was doing there @ 5th picture insert. |
Gov. Wike is tactless, vindictive & so full of himself. No governor in Nigeria today will replicate in Rivers what Wike did in Edo without running with their tail in-between their legs. In fact, any traditional ruler no matter how highly placed in Rivers, who receives in their palace another governor, let alone one Wike isn't in good terms with, will be deposed the same day. |
They'll soon ask for the release of names & positions of Christians in the VP's office; while the decision to release this video is intended - I believe - to dismiss allegations that Prof. Osinbajo is a bigot, those sponsoring these allegations may well be justified if he has far more Christian appointees in his office & they occupy better offices. But really, do all this really matter? Politics of religion, ethnicity? |
Lol. Dem go still Zazu this Shehu Sani, e never know wetin dey happen. Primary sef, e no go win. |
