Heartmender1:I haven't opened that particular email in probably months; I've different emails for different purposes and that was for unofficial purposes. He won't find any sensitive information there other than the fact that I used it to register for some of my social media accounts e.g Facebook. As to Facebook, I take pride in the fact that 95-98% of my friends on the app are people I know personally - one on one - and I've @ some of them on Twitter to let them know what's happened. Besides, my friends on Facebook know I hardly even use it (more of a Twitter person) so they'll try to reach me if the impostor tries anything funny. Na my 10x ad tops wey I pay N10,999 on Jiji wey the person delete na im pain me pass; any other thing is by the way. |
I don't know what the intention of the hacker is but I won't be touching that email or Facebook account even if he offers the passwords to me. I learnt a big lesson today, really. Heartmender1: |
Thanks. True Caller installed right away. I'm careful not to supply the email I use for sensitive activities for general purpose activities. God bless you real good. Xcelinteriors: |
My Jiji account, which I signed in for using Facebook, has also been seized. My advert is gone and with it, the ad tops I paid for. |
Hello guys, something just happen right now; I've been scammed!!! Here's how it happened: It may be a long read but it could help someone not to fall victim so easily like me ![]() Early this Monday morning, specifically around 6:28am, I received a call from this number 07063660944, purportedly by a male voice, whose name I can't remember anymore (supposing that's even his real name), informing me he's from Jiji. Now, that piqued my interest as I'd placed an advert on that platform for a SUV sale. Apparently, this fraudster - as I would later get to realise - had checked out my advert & possibly seen the number of views on my ad and phone number (I'd paid for ad tops). He asked if I'd been receiving calls about the advert, I responded "yes, but not as much as I'd anticipated". He went on to inform me that Jiji was doing a promo and my ad tops would be increased to guarantee more calls; in his words, "you'll be receiving close to 100 calls a day with this promo. Is there something else you'd like Jiji to do for you?" I responded "with this promo, I won't be needing anything else from Jiji for now". He then asked me to mention the email I used to register for the ad (little did I know I was helping him perfect the plan to hijack my email at that point) and I read it out. He confirmed it then said he would call me back so he can effect the promo on my ad. He eventually called back after four missed calls (I was busy with something else and phone was on vibration, didn't feel it vibrate in my pocket) and when I eventually answered the call, he said a promo code has been sent to my phone (I use a dual SIM phone so I didn't even bother to verify which of the numbers the SMS was sent to. This is apt because I used my MTN number on the Jiji ad while my Yahoo mail has my Glo line) and I should read it out. He actually emphasized the code was in capital letters; we were on the same phone talking while I scrolled to my messages and read the code to him without properly checking or even fully reading the rest of the message that said '... Is your Yahoo Account Key'. He ended the call and almost immediately, I received a notification on one of my Gmail accounts that I used as alternate email informing me first of a sign in notification, then a password change, phone number removal, addition of the phone number used to call me and finally, removal of my alternate email in that order. It's important to note that I use a different phone for my emails and it wasn't close to me. It wasn't until after the conversation ended and I reached to check the Jiji ad on the mobile app installed on this particular phone to see if the "promo" had been effected that I saw the notifications in my Gmail account. May I also point out that it was at this point, I went back to properly read the SMS I received and saw the part that read "GZNEYVPK is Your Yahoo Account Key". As I type this, the fraudster is actually calling me back; maybe he wants to collect the pin to my ATM and bank account numbers. I'm reaching out to Jiji immediately after this and I hope nobody else falls victim to this scammer. PS: I tried stopping the attempts to hijack my email but with the change of password, there was nothing I could do. Also, the Yahoo email (since it's no longer in my control, I can paste it here - myreward96@yahoo.com - isn't my main account as I barely even read mails sent there. Please mods kindly move this to front page and if necessary, the appropriate section. Thanks. ***Addendum*** I was wrong apparently... The hijacker has changed the password to my Facebook account. I can't remember anything else associated with that Yahoo Account that may be hijacked eventually by this fraudster but for now, I no longer have access to my FB. |
As in ehn... When I first saw the head line on the FP, I dreaded opening it for obvious reasons; but I was wrong. The pupil's name & origin ensured those who thrive on "fighting" tribal wars online did not have a field day today. See how nobody is appropriating this seeming success to their ethnic group? If the pupil's name had been a Chinyere, Opeyemi or Hadiza, we for no hear word today. oluwaseyi000: |

Plans by some members of the governing All Progressives Congress to elongate the tenure of the National and State Executives of the party by one year has run into troubled waters following President Muhammadu Buhari's insistence on adherence to due process and rule of law. The APC, at its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting last month, resolved to extend the tenure of all party officials, from the national to the ward levels, by 12 months. The tenure of the current National Working Committee (NWC) led by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was due to expire at the end of June, this year. However, it was learnt that major stakeholders of the party argued that it would be counter-productive to hold congresses and national convention towards electing new officials for the APC less than a year before the general elections. Those in favour of tenure elongation expressed fears that holding a new convention going into the 2019 general elections could further polarize the party. While some state chapters and members of the party, notably Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, kicked against any tenure elongation, saying it was against the APC constitution, the man in the eye of the storm, Chief Oyegun, told State House correspondents after the caucus meeting of the party presided over by President Buhari at the Presidential Villa Abuja, Monday night that calls for his removal from office "belongs to history". However, in a move that may signal the end of the road for the Oyegun-led NWC, President Buhari at the ongoing NEC of the party in Abuja on Tuesday, called for strict adherence to the dictates of the APC and national constitutions. The President, who stressed that it was pertinent for him to speak on the contentious issue of the tenure of National and State Executive Officers of the party, pointed to relevant sections of the APC Constitution that do not support the move. "On my own part, I have taken some time to review and seek advise on the resolution. And what I found is that it contravenes both our party Constitution and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria", he said in his remarks. Speaking further, President Buhari specifically drew attention to Article 17(1) & 13.2(B), of the APC Constitution which limits tenure of elected officers to 4 years, renewable once by election. He also cited Section 223 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended), which also prescribes periodic elections for party Excos at regular intervals, which must not exceed 4 years. "Furthermore, Article 31 of our Party Constitution provides that any principal officer wishing to re-contest or contest for another post, must resign from his current post at least one month before the election", he added. In light of the foregoing, the President called for conduct of fresh elections once the tenure of the current executives approaches its end. "A Caretaker Committee cannot remedy this situation, and cannot validly act in place of elected officers", he noted. He continued: "Furthermore, I think if we deviate from the constitutional provisions,we might be endangering the fortunes of our party. If the tenure of our party executives can be legally faulted, then it means that any nominations & primary elections that they may conduct, can also be faulted. "This is not to talk of divisions that would arise, and is already arising within the party, when some of our members feel that they are being denied the right to aspire to executive positions, or that internal democracy is not at play within the party. "I am therefore of the firm view that it is better to follow strictly the dictates of our party and national constitutions, rather than put APC and its activities at grave risk. "Fortunately, we have already approved a timetable for the holding of congresses and elections. I think these should be allowed to go forward and all efforts should now be geared towards making them a great success". Source: https://twitter.com/NGRPresident

Wande Coal not getting the due recognition he deserves; dude is master of hooks, catchy ones at that too. |
We've known for a long time that politics in Nigeria is an invitation to "come & chop" as long as you're close to the corridors of power; this is an example. Typical Nigerian politicians leave office far wealthier than how they came in reason many of them will rather die than relinquish their hold on power. Nice lawns by the way. |
In all this, I just pity those Almajiris that will be carrying their oil-stained rubber plates with scruffy looks upandan begging for sadaka while their elites keep sending their own children to the best schools money can pay for. God help us! |
Watch those who dismissed then Gen. Buhari when he spoke at the same venue prior to the 2015 polls hype this one to high heavens. Same way those who hyped Buhari then when he spoke at Chatham House will dismiss Atiku's own now. Bunch of confused zombies. tomakint: |
Wehdone sah! You think we don't know what you guys did?? The lightning that will fia all of you for the hardships you made Nigerians pass through during the fuel scarcity is still buying ticket to your respective addresses. BeeBeeOoh: |

I never heard of her until today. Even with her semi-unclad birthday photo shots, I'll probably never hear her name again after today. So, for the first & last time from me, happy birthday lady. |
From some of the comments here, it's easy to deduce how myopic some of y'all are in your thinking. So, a woman cannot be in showbiz & be successfully married? If she has been in the spotlight for over 20years & married to the same man for almost equal amount of years, if he's not complaining & hasn't deemed it fit to ask for a divorce, who the f#$k are you to pass judgment on their marriage? |
Very misleading title & contents. Sen. Akpabio was in the Mosque to pay his last respects to his departed colleague. There's nothing in the photo that suggests he was "praying". If a prayer was truly going on in the Mosque, Akpabio & others would've stood in an orderly & uniformed (in this case, not dressing) manner. |
That second to the last & last picture is what happens when a supposed "man of God" makes himself a tool in the hands of politicians. I grew up hearing the name Rev. Uma Ukpai & his many great crusades; he was widely respected then (maybe he still is) but I can't say the same today. Can you imagine Fayose will tap on Pastor Adeboye or Kumuyi's shoulder like that? Even Bishop Oyedepo, he won't dare but with Ukpai, he did it like he was relating with one of his political peers. |
The Nigerian Army stopped recruiting real soldiers long time ago. An army that recruits personnel, most of them bullish in nature with no respect for human rights, is that one an army to be proud of? Many of these recruits off from training at the Depot, Zaria are more interested in the optics; the uniform, gun/bullets, snapping photos for posting online and 'respect' or rather fear from the civilian populace that comes with their profession rather than doing a good job as soldiers. While I admire a proper soldier, appreciate the many sacrifices they've made & are still making so we can be safe & pray God's guidance over them & their loved ones, I got nothing but disdain for walkway models & animals disguised as soldiers. |
That second pic.... Dino be like "make I sip something". RMD: You see this one, Dino, na touch & die. But on a serious not that last pic just explains the voracious appetite of a typical Nigerian politician to everything; they can't even hide it anymore. While RMD has his glass cup barely half filled with whatever it's he's drinking, the Nigerian senator decided to fill his own cup almost to the brim.... |

Three years down the line & this man still sees the previous administration looking over his shoulders. Incompetence is incompetence; there's no half incompetence. The same level of incompetence that led to abduction of Chibok girls under the previous administration is what led to abduction of Dapchi girls; saying your administration responded swiftly than the previous one is irrelevant. Just bring back our #DapchiGirls & #ChibokGirls. |
These are some of the traditional rites they use to hold the "low class" among them hostage. Did anybody see Ajimobi's son flogged when he took Ganduje's daughter for a wife? Or is Jamil, former IGP Abubakar's son also going to receive strokes of the cane for asking Dangote daughter's hand in marriage?? Na poor men wey no get mouth dem dey flog if dem go ask for Fulani man daughter hand for marriage. |
We are in the era of sophisticated oloshoism where women of easy virtue no longer have to strut the streets at night seeking for clients. Under this modus operandi, the clients are universal; they're stupendously rich, have a rabid taste for anything that wears a skirt or doesn't - as long as she's voluptuous like this one - have crazy fantasises, can spend like there's no tomorrow & like to be discreet. While the naive ones see a girl flaunting her beauty/assets or whatever online, what they don't know is she's advertising her wares to her broad range of clients. Sitting behind their computers, phones or other such gadgets, they monitor & critically assess what they are seeing. Those too busy to go online to check or aren't computer savvy assign this role to their trusted middlemen/women, who also get their cut. If interested, they make contact with the lady & name their price. Often, they thrown in other perks such as return flight tickets (usually business or first class), exquisite hotel accommodations, expensive jewelleries etc to beat their competitors. The so-called jet-style lifestyle, display of foreign currencies, expensive bags, shoes, phones etc by some of these Instagram slay queens are some of the proceeds of this lifestyle. For those who know how to make the client speak in a different language during their sessions, they could get a house or even expensive automobile as bonus; I didn't mention anybody's name ![]() |
Much as I enjoyed your story, which moral I believe is forgiveness & kindness, you ruined it when you chose to go against the rule of your engagement. "We were not permitted to give more than a packet packed of scripts but I gave him more than one. Just for him to make more money". By doing the above, isn't possible you might've deprived other equally-deserving people of a chance to mark scripts and also earn "more money?" I get the feeling you weren't just being kind to your former lecturer who made you suffer unjustly - at least according to your story - you wielded enormous power & you enjoyed the fact you were able to dispense it as you liked without recourse to the fate of others. |
Nice, but what are his plans for those kids? Are they just for photo ops? The North keeps paying lip service to education thereby dragging the rest of Nigeria down with her otherwise, the region should've come up with a comprehensive plan on revamping education & taking millions of children (almajirai) of school age off the streets. In a state ravaged by insurgency, all I see are kids who are potential canon fodders for Boko Haram if their welfare & education aren't taking seriously by government. |
The point is it's his choice; whether 2009 or 2020 TV, that piece of television costs a whopping amount of money. We should respect that! I dunno why people are sweating over the "bezel" as if they bought the television for him. princemedico: |
I see some people poking fun that the TV is LCD, he lives in a rented apartment blah blah blah FYI, that's a Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 4 103-inch Plasma TV which has among others, an anti-reflection coated contrast screen, which also enhances the viewing experience during daytime viewing. The cost of that TV is what some of your favourite musicians use to build mansions & still buy flashy cars with the change. Every time people think D'banj is finished, dude just keeps disappointing by doing something big. Oh, I forgot to mention he has moved to his new house in Ikoyi, where this photo of his TV was taken. And I forgot again, shey they said he was owing somebody millions & he was kicked out of his Lekki Phase 1 apartment? ![]() |
