rusher14: I hope you aren't being cynical but I'll try.
Due to certain provisions in our constitution the states cannot access funds which are simply idling away.
They need the national assembly to deliberate on them which is an unnecessary bottleneck.
The president is saying do away with this bottleneck so states can access these funds.
Please don't take my word for it. Read up on it. In continuation of the above, there are some projects that would take at least 6 months before it can be initiated because of certain laws, the President is saying change or remove those clause so that projects/ contacts can be awarded faster. |

Dhugal: Who is going by sensational headline? The National Assembly can amend any provision of law within 2 days if the president wants, barring constitutional amendments. Why would the president now ask for powers to unilaterally amend or repeal laws not to his liking, ostensibly for 'economic' purposes.Do you kids know what dangerous slippery slope you're supporting on social media just for five thousand naira stipend?. Powers of budgetary provisions virement too, without recourse to the legislature. What are we now, crazy?. Constitutional separation of powers was instituted the world over for a reason and it is to be held sacred, inviolable. Obama got America out of a recession with a Republican Congress n never muted such crazy idea.He used the laws n tools at his disposal. The APC is the majority in the NASS,he should use it to achieve his aim if its actually altruistic. You should learn to read and understand instead of calling people with far more understanding kids. The president is asking the National assembly to repeal some laws not give him the power to repeal laws. |

Kicked the wrong customer out in the process though but is it ok to kick women out just because they are unescorted? There are not kicking out runs girl, they are preventing their client's wife from coming to "catch them in the act" |

The nigeriaimmigration2000 youth protesters spent the night in front of aso villa as they are still yet unattended to. Is this the change we voted for? Why is Mr president insensitive to the plights of these youths. Is it because they are children of the poor? If it was Zara Buhari will the president leave her to spent the night outside? What is the crime of these youths for seeking for what rightfully belongs to them? It's time for the nigerian youths to stand firm against this injustice meted on these youths. It might be them today, think of yourself tomorrow. The employer reserves the right to hire and the right to fire so remove the statement in bold. |

Politics › Re: Ajaokuta Steel's Status - Fayemi by AZeD1(m): 12:07pm On Aug 18, 2016 |
Zoharariel: Buhari & Fayemi are brain-dead fools! Instead of contacting & inviting the original designer & builder - Tyazhprom Export (TPE) to complete the construction exercise, they (The FG) are busy playing politics with it.
Read:
The Russian company that designed and built the now moribund Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd (ASCL) about two decades ago has recently written to the federal government, indicating its willingness to return and complete the project so that the multibillion naira investment can commence production.
But it seems the federal government, which has not responded to the letter yet, is not very keen about the Russian firm’s offer to return and make the rusted company work again.
Russian Tyazhprom Export, a steel industry construction company established in the late 1950s, had after the June 4, 1976 bilateral agreements signed by Nigeria and Russia, on the development of the former’s iron deposit, sealed a contract (047/04100) for the construction of a steel plant with the capacity of producing 1.3 million tonnes of steel per year.
With the contract signed, the Russian company, as it could be recalled, deployed 1,000 Russian experts and 3,500 Nigerian workers to carry out the construction exercise that was completed up to 98 per cent by October 1993. Specifically, of the 482 Units that make up the entire ASCL, 476 of them were commissioned, including three rolling mills, TPS-TBS, repair and service shops that were all put into operation.
After that feat, the steel company was abandoned and left to rot away for years. And when the federal government made the move to revive the company in 2002, the same Russian company was invited to carry out an assessment audit of what needed to be done to revive it, but the effort was later stalled when government decided in 2005 to give the company on concession to one Global Infrastructure Holdings Ltd. That agreement, too, was later said to have been cancelled in 2008. You do know that there's a legal battle which first has to be won? |

Sajevo: All I see here is bad belle. Mr.Lawyer,go and sell yourself to the electorate and stop making Bola Tinubu into a tin god. Tinubu has inalienable rights as a free citizen of a democratic country to support, canvass, influence, lobby for or against, donate to,campaign for or against any Ondo state or Nigerian politician(s) he deems appropriate within citizenship and legal confines. If Abayomi can not convince his party members whether or not Tinubu supports or maligns him, then he doesn't deserve to be governor. Guy one bottle for you. Tinubu has the right to canvas votes and support for any candidate of his choosing. PS: it's funny how people say Tinubu imposed Buhari when the APC had primaries meanwhile the PDP imposed GEJ (refused to sell form to one woman like that) and everyone is OK with it. |

yomz1e: I didn't marry a cook, I married my woman, a friend, soul mate, lover and wife, not a cook! Cooking does not define the qualities in a woman, she. Might not be good in cooking but good in other things that's why there are professional cooks ..,this life is simple why complicate it.. You and your wife working 9-5! Coming home from work everyday is a struggle and you now want her to go in the kitchen and spend another 2-3hrs in the heat... I advice any single girl that can't cook to stay away from Redeem church. It's not a friendly hunting ground. You have just won a life time supply of your favourite drink. |

We agree GEJ and co wrecked the economy and that's why they were voted out. Buhari has been in power for over a year now, and no reference should be made to the past adminstration, instead they should "man up" and do what they were voted to do.
APC has an opportunity to make a name for themselves but they are making the same mistakes PDP made.
Enough of this GEJ did this or didn't do what, we should be looking forward not backwards. |
