ufotuko: jump from the bridge so that we will know the level of vibration. After you. You're supposed to lead by example. |
. |
I once stood on a bridge in Apapa and noticed it was vibrating too...I guess its a normal thing. |
From my own point of view, there might be nothing memorable about the Airport but at least, someone remembered to refurbish it though after a long time. |
My friend just saw this thread and said....."This is one of the best looking local Airports he's seen in Nigeria, that the others look like Bungalows". We Nigerians have been in the dark for too long so any glimmer of candle-light is celebrated. Those that criticize this projects do so because they have been exposed to better environments. Those that support it do so because they're experiencing a change for once in a long time. Figure out where you stand. |
chyz: You comment shows how myopic you are. I'm from Delta. Never needed to cross a "Niger Bridge" to get to the SW. What's even more funny there is no proof that say yoruba are the most educated of that yoruba have the most university graduates. This is another reason why its clear you people reason out of your backside. You people prevent others, natives of the oil lands, from getting jobs because of your familiar acts of tribalism. In short, its all coming to the light day after day just like the evils of your Northern cohorts.I also had my secondary education in Warri so i'm aware of the preferential treatment given to indegenes concerning scholarships sponsored by oil companies. They also favoured indegenes while recruiting staffs. |
@Sincere Nigerian. Its commendable that you're giving a balanced view on the new Railway operations. About the B.R.T project, don't celebrate yet on it being a failure b'cos you hear about it in threads on NL but I'm a regular passanger on it. They are some bad ones amongst the buses but its a small number. Its far from being as bad as you're painting it. |
chyz: Your example holds no water at ll, especially since the schools are overwhelmed with SE and SS natives. In fact, with this being the case along with the addition of the non-SW schools, there should be no reason whatsoever that the oil companies should be overflowing with Yorubas.Dude, trust me. I graduated from O.A.U Ife and i visit U.I and UNILAG regularly till date. S.E/S.S students there aren't much. Most of them prefer eastern Universities. Even the Private Universities are pre-dominantly S.W students. |
I can't predict the future or argue on what's to come as if i'm a god that sees it.....but i know one thing for sure. PDP is already threatned by APC.... |
Only time will tell. Its good as APC is facing these challenges b'cos that's what will make them sit-up and focus. Change is certain and the end of PDP's dominance will come. They have lost states and will loose more. GEJ might win 2015 but after that........ |
@ Op.Don't leave her just yet....You both could have a lot of fun celebrating the "New Yam Festival". |
eastOFwest: In Nigeria things are always the other way round! In England (& most western countries) it's not called yam legs , it's called "definition" (calves). Women spend countless hours in the gym doing squats and leg presses to get " yam legs".Naaah. When he says "Yam legs"....He honestly means "Yam legs". Picture a Footballer's calves. Yeah, that's what he's talking about. |
This is a pointless thread. There's nothing to be learnt here. What's the purpose?? To cause further division?? What pleasure will the op derive from that?? I wonder. |
The solution to these drive-bys should be Well equiped Policemen like those found on bikes in Lagos, Complete with bullet-proof vests and helmets. They are normally 2 on a bike so one can ride while the other one shoots. How easy is it to use a tricycle as a get-away vehicle?? Its noisy and slow. |
Ikpediarukevwe: Rubish... U kill by d gun and die by the gun.. Na xo all those yeye police take dey die like fowl.. Boy dey hustle una dey block them... Cant u kill the big politician thieves? Abi dem must carry gun first.. Kill 'em all.You might insult me, argue and drop more comments to defend yourself but it won't change the fact that you're a Fooool. |
As an Architect, I normally dream of getting the job of renovating buildings like this. They're structurally better and they have more character than most current buildings. Its a pity they choose to ignore these buildings. |
FreeGlobe: Its like you don't think before you talk really. How many igbos has asked the Lagos state govt to provide jobs for them, more less a govt governed by a fraudulent bigot. you think we are lazy like you people. Igbos create jobs, pay tax and feed their host and you are here talking pooRead the post again and see where they're complaining about the Lagos Govt not providing jobs for them. Also, when i said "They", i mean anyone from any State and not only Igbo. All what you've written doesn't aid in re-opening Ladipo though. |
They keep flooding in from their resident states and expect the Lagos state Govt to provide jobs for them?? They ought to go try this in other States and see the results. |
The autograph is of no relevance to me. I see no way it can compel me to buy the phone. |
@ OP. You should know how to prepare Pounded yam naa. |
Newspapers worldwide are notorious for coming up with catchy headlines and twists to paint stories in their own light. This post is no different. |
Fineboy....Lol. ![]() |
careytommy: @Rossike, you shouldn't have taken the OP to the laundry so quickly. What you should have done was to ask what he has ever done or is presently doing (just one would suffice) to mitigate 'the brazenly obvious ills in our society'.I strongly agree, I dislike people that sit far away and condemn, instead of trying to profer solutions and ideas to better situations. Its like sitting far away and condeming soldiers fighting in a war front. Why complain about situations you plan on doing nothing about?? @OP. Be the change you wish to see. |
He looks a lot better in white. |
The United States spends 58 percent of the total defense dollars paid out by the world's top 10 military powers, which combined for $1.19 trillion in military funding in 2011. With its unparalleled global reach, the US outspends China, the next-biggest military power, by nearly 6-to-1. For the 2011 fiscal year, the president's base budget of the Department of spending on "overseas contingency operations" brings the sum to $664.84 billion. North Korea had previously announced a USD570 million defence budget, although the real expenditure, calculated on an exchange rate based on purchasing power parity (PPP) terms, was USD8.77 billion |
This isn't an intelligent statement. |
Become born-again. If they come to disturb you, tell them to give their lives to Jesus Christ. Tell them how wonderful life in Christ is and invite them to a night vigil. |
PointB: Imagine a big market like Ladipo without a central dump site, yet some clowns are praising the government for the inanity of closing the market. Why didn't the government provide this facility and see if it will be put to use or not before closing the market? It's little wonder why Lagos State itself is one big junkyard. A state where the government pockets tax-payer money, plant flowers, and then do fvckall with the rest of the loot.Ladipo market was never designed to be an auto-spare part market from the onset. Igbo traders move into residential areas and turn them to markets without regards to the activities they'll be carrying out there. |
awodman: Since u are in support of draconian approach to solving problems..hope u supported FG when fuel subsidy was removed..I hate how u all see every fashola's move no matter how draconian as a gud move but fault FG when they take similar steps...imagine increasing a univ school fees to a whooping 350k!!!!!...imagine if same was done ƒσя federal univs...sacking about 776 doctors including experienced consultants in one full swoop!!!!..so u are recommending let's say if ASUU goes on one of its numerous strikes dat FG should sack all of themDon't get me wrong, I'm aware Fashola can be very one-dimensional in his approach to solving issues. Some of his policies have affected me negatively but anytime i get angry, I remind myself how Lagos used to be before he came in. I don't ever want to go back to that Lagos of the past. |
dayokanu: Ask them to go and live in Akwa Ibom and enjoy Akpabios govt they would refuse and prefer to die in Fasholas "useless and dirty" LagosI tire ooo....I'm in Ikeja ATM and i'm taking my time to observe the pattern of commerce they belive is right and the economy of Lagos is hinged on....Its rowdy and haphazard, very unplesant to the environment and human senses. It truely needs sanitizing, sentiments aside. |
