an Interstate highway system coupled with railways (what happened to rehabilitating NRC) would help Nigeria more than airports most of the population would hardly use. These are Federal responsibilities, not Fashola's. He's only doing what he's capable of in his state. There's separation of powers for a reason . He's putting up a light rail system in his state and he juts flooded the streets with more buses. The state also opened up jetties and waterways transportation around the state, |
Do you understand english at all?. Where did I write such a thing?. How did private investors and the issues we have in Nigeria equate to Fashola?. This fasholaMania is becoming a religion o.Feel free to let me know what else you based your concern on, Foresightedness and optimism and Fasholamania are different things, |
I have been following most of your posts on this forum. Some folks dislike no matter what. Beaf is one of them so don't waste your time going back n forth with him. Just take a look at his senseless and pointless thoughts. |
Typically, such infrastructure is capital intensive and an investor will not recoup his capital from toll fees in the first 5 years but if Nigeria is not stable, who will take such risk?. Another govt may enter tomorrow and revoke the license. Will you carry your bridge home if such a thing happens?. That is why foreign investors shy away from putting a lot in tangible properties because we are not stable. If the head is not stable, Fashola may be laboring in vain. Look, your vote doesn't count in Nigeria and don't be surprised if Fashola did not make it come 2011 because all these money he is using to clean up lagos should be in someones pocket and that someone is running out of patience with him. If that someone is a kingmaker, kiss Fashola goodbye. So, because of all your imagined and perceived futuristic crystal ball concerns, Fashola should not develop and promote private investments in his state? You mean Fashola should just sit on his hands and slide the state back to stone age because we're not stable and he's not sure who's gonna be in charge after him?, Jesus Christ, |
Lagos state govt rebuilt it well and I think they're maintaining it well.MMA2 is a private entity, Lagos state Gov'/Fashola didn't spend a dime on MMA2 and has nothing to do with it. MMA is the responsibility of the federal government, not Fashola, Lets educate ourselves and stop repeating the same falsehoods. Promoting private development and investments is a good thing, we get a modern and up to date infrastructures and create tons of needed jobs @ the same time. And it's going to be privately owned and managed, not state owned and managed. |
No matter how many points you drop, it wont change my opinion on the whole schitzoUnfortunately for you, your entitled opinion is misguided and misplaced, Fashola/Lagos state is not responsible for federal infrastructures like MMA. He can't do a damn thing about MMA. Your entitled opinion sounds dead on arrival, Direct your argument and objections to the feds in Abuja, tell them to hurry up and fix MMA if it bothers you so much. For now, Fashola's Job is to promote private development and investments in his state, not to sit on his hands forever or till the federal gov' stops snoring and wakes up from it's slumber. He's not even spending the state's money on any of these projects so what's your point? Of what use is a $6 billion free trade zone without a modern airport with superb cargo handling capabilities? |
A lot can be done if that kind of money is used for social programes in rehabitating these so called destituteHe claimed that the beggars were arrested in various parts of Lagos in the last six months but housed and rehabilitated at Majidun in Ikorodu area of Lagos State by the Fashola administration. http://odili.net/news/source/2009/apr/10/14.html |
I dont see any common sense in building another airport! But do you see any common sense in 18+ million people relying on a neglected and crumbling federal infrastructure? Do you see any sense in moving tons of cargo from Lekki free trade zone through lagos traffic to MMA? Is MMA big and equipped enough to support LFTZ and the general public? And do you think the feds give a damn about MMA? Fashola can't touch MMA, MMA belongs to the feds. Fashola just agreed to fix the federal road leading to the airport because the ever incompetent feds refused to fix it. I'm glad fashola is working his way around the feds and their lousy infrastructures and ways of doing things. Right now, for any state in Nigeria to progress and modernize, they have to forget about Abuja and chart their own course and destiny. |
The main reason for the new airport is the Lekki free trade zone (LFTZ). The new airport is gonna be handling a lot of cargo from the LFTZ. Lagos is also the commercial nerve center of Nigeria and west africa so it' very prudent to have another airport to support the ever growing population and commercial activities. The one in Ikeja is garbage anyways, the feds as usual are not taking good are of it, the place is like a landing strip with blown out bulbs and dangling electrical wires from the roofs, crappy fixtures, and almost obsolete baggage handling system. I'm sure it's going to be privately funded anyways, |
Chidi Nkwopara 19 August 2009 https://www.newsrescue.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/beheaded-nigeria-vanguard.jpg Late Chinwe before her death. Residents of Owerri were Wednesday morning treated to a morbid spectacle as the police command paraded four suspects and the decomposing head of an 18-year old Chinwe Doris Perpetua Obieri, who was murdered for ritual purposes. The bizarre scene, which was a replica of the infamous Otokoto saga of September 1996, had the prime suspect, 24-year old Emeka Uwakwe, from Ndiakunwata, Arondizuogu, Ideato North local government area of the state, clutching the decapitated head of his girl friend, Chinwe. Speaking to newsmen, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aloy Okorie, gave the names of the other suspects as Chigamezu Anyaoha from Orodo, Mbaitoli local council area, Anthony Obioha from Lude, Ahiazu Mbaise local government area, and the medicine man, Damian Joseph from Obot Akara, Akwa Ibom State. Mr. Okorie gave a graphic account of how the sordid crime was committed and the efforts made by the state police command to apprehend the suspects in far away Lagos State. Excerpts: "You can see we have a case of murder for ritual murder. What happened was that on Sunday, July 26, 2009, the young lady whose head you are seeing (pointing at the decapitated head of Chinwe) left her Akokwa home, Ideato North local government area of Imo State. You can see the head without the body. "The young man, Emeka Uwakwe, is the boy friend of this girl and he came all the way from Lagos and lured her to his house in the village. He murdered the girl, cut off her head for ritual purpose and dumped the headless body in a bush. Apparently, the girl had told her parents that she was going to visit her maternal uncle in another village. "As at 7.04pm on that same Sunday, she called her parents and informed them she was already in her maternal uncle's compound and they believed her. Later, her parents made a call to her and the call was not pulling through up till the next morning and by Monday when it was obvious that she was not coming back, they made a report to the police that their daughter was missing. "The names of the parents are Mr. Nicholas and Mrs. Theresa Obieri from Umuezeala, Umueziama Kindred in Akokwa. It was after they made the report to the police that some vigilante people on the same date, came around and said they saw a headless body in the bush. The police invited the girl's parents and they identified the headless body to be that of their daughter. "It was at that point that the police swung into action and started making investigations. From information, we got to know that she had a boy friend who is resident in Lagos and who was seen around home within that period. So, we went to Lagos and we were able to arrest Emeka Uwakwe. You can see him now with the head of the slain girl (pointing at Emeka). "When we now got him, he made a confession that Mr. Damian Joseph of Obot Akara in Akwa Ibom State, though he is based in Lagos also, was the one who made the charm with which, if he got the head of this girl, mix it with the charm and bury it, money will start flowing, he will start plucking money as if he was plucking fruits from the tree. That was exactly what the man did. He (Emeka) got the concoction, mixed it with the head and buried it in his room. "We also went for the Native Doctor and got him. Meanwhile, Emeka made a confession too that it was his friends, Chigaemezu Anyaoha and Anthony Obioha, that introduced him to the Native Doctor and that he was capable of making medicine for money. They also confirmed that they had done such a medicine before with human scrotum. We do not know whether it their own scrotum or other people's scrotum. We will surely find out in due. "You can see the pretty 18-year old girl (displaying her photograph). I am sure if you had seen this girl when she was alive, you will weep. You will certainly weep because I have never seen a thing like that in my life. I just imagine my own daughter of that age being slaughtered for ritual purposes. "Well, in an era where we talking about people going to live in the moon, that is the age we are in, 21st century, and people are still being fooled that they can use human head to make money. It is very unfortunate. "Emeka Uwakwe was arrested on Wednesday last week (August 12, 2009) and when he gave us the information on how he got about the whole show, our men left for Lagos on Sunday and we were able to arrest both the Native Doctor and the other two boys. The next line of action is that they will pay the price prescribed by the laws of the land. We all know the price for somebody who has committed murder. He will pay with his own life. There is no duplicate for life. If he had the courage to kill somebody, he should also be prepared to face the consequence. He should be in a position to say if he killed her with a knife or first strangulated her before he cut off the neck. "It is very clear that the girl deceived her parents. My advice is simple. I have a daughter of that age. I know how we monitor her. Most times, especially in this era, if she has to go out, we must let go with somebody because you never can tell. That age is a critical period in the training of children. Parents should monitor their daughters closely. It is easy to make contacts in this GSM era. I am sure that if the parents had raised alarm that very night they did not see her, may be things would have come out differently. Copyright © 2009 Vanguard. All rights reserved. Failed Joke, Fashola is not building anything and again, it's 100% privately funded, NEXT>>>>>>>> |
For example, state liaison offices used to be along bar beach? There is a lot to lose. But this is what the state and experts are saying and we're seeing positive changes already, In essence, Eko Atlantic is a huge reclamation project, replacing land that was lost during a hundred years of severe coastal erosion. Consultants and contractors from all over the world are working together in an attempt to roll back surging waves from the Atlantic Ocean. Valuable land that was lost to generations of Nigerians has already begun to reappear and is expanding every day. A 7 km long sea wall will be constructed to protect the city from damaging storms. Eko Atlantic is turning a liability of coastal erosion into a national asset. |
@Babapupa, when you grow up and learn to READ what peoplel actually type, let me know.Take your own silly advice and quit lying. It's not by force to contribute to threads especially if all you have is meaningless nitpicking and pointless arguments. |
Maybe after you stopped lying, |
But, I DID NOT ASK FOR A MODULE, I asked a QUESTION. Roflmao!!!Did you not mentioned and questioned it's effectiveness? And how do you get your answer without producing the module. Yes, you asked for the module. Your argument somehow sounds silly and directionless, |
DO you have a problem with the English Language? The guy tells you the revetment is for during construction and addresses waves that happen ONCE A MONTH and that Which happens about ONCE every 100 YEARS. Do you not understand that? This is getting weird, you think say na music video, lmao, |
Quote from: Kobojunkie on August 27, 2009, 06:42 PMBtw, you said/lied yesterday that you didn't ask for any module even after posting the same module twice. The same hydro engineering module is in the same quote you just posted. So, if the same module was posted yesterday, why are you here today posing the same question, talking about the same module you denied asking for and acting as if your nitpicking was not attended to. You just got caught lying, lol Sounds very deceptive and disingenuous to me, Again, here is your module and answer. now find something else to nitpick, and I'm waiting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B3dmYlDGDk |
sjeezy8- This is the kain bad bele talk den dey call question, but as soon as I answer with the article below to dismantles his yeye talk, she just disappear. kobojunkie. I don't know why you think the developers are clueless idiots. Obviously, they must have made arrangements for all that. Eko Atlantic City - Lagos July 13, 2009 image of eko-atlantic-city-lagos-nigeria Located along the Atlantic coast of Lagos, Nigeria is a dynamic new city currently under construction. Adjacent to Victoria Island in West Africa's fastest growing region is Eko Atlantic. This project will transform 9 square kilometers of eroding coastal land into a thriving twenty-first century city. Eko Atlantic combines an impressive blend of aesthetic beauty and seamless practicality. The city will be spread across seven districts, combining residential, commercial, financial and tourist development. They will all share the same high standards of urban planning, infrastructure and architectural excellence. The new city will feature tree-lined boulevards, waterways, manicured gardens, elegant plazas, three marinas and a stunning ocean front promenade. Eko Atlantic will be a city in which to live, work and play. The Financial District, with towering skyscrapers, will attract multinational companies, especially in the oil and gas industries. It will become home to many of Africa’s banks, financial institutions and business leaders and will help to establish Lagos as the financial capital of Africa. Eko Atlantic will raise the standards of infrastructure in Lagos to sophisticated levels through a finely-structured urban plan that creates a balanced, environmentally friendly and efficient blueprint for a comfortable, healthy, safe and efficient style of life. Each of the seven districts of Eko Atlantic will display their own unique characteristics, but the infrastructural design will be standard throughout the city. The city will have its own independent service island with an electricity generating plant and water management for drinking and irrigation, as well as sewage control. Eko Atlantic will be self-sufficient in power and vital telecommunications. Transportation includes an eight-lane coastal highway, a tramway system, a ferry system, 20 km of internal waterway, and a 100 km internal network of roads connect all districts. Eko Atlantic also includes a pedestrian and transport strategy that is designed to reduce road use, minimize traffic congestion and create off-street parking for all vehicles. In essence, Eko Atlantic is a huge reclamation project, replacing land that was lost during a hundred years of severe coastal erosion. Eko Atlantic will become home to at least 400,000 residents, with commuter volume expected to exceed 250,000 people daily. Eko Atlantic will help Lagos transform itself into a successful mega city-state of 25 million people by the year 2015. The project is being developed by South Energyx Nigeria Ltd, a subsidiary of The Chagoury Group. |
sjeezy8- Don't waste your time, we both know it's not about answers because we've answered their questions. Na hating and bad bele and I'm willing and able to take care of that, ![]() |
So you OUGHT TO KNOW WHAT QUESTIONS HE ANSWERED. Please RE-Post them! It is all there, so you should not have a problem reposting the questions that he answered, according to you.You didn't ask a single question, you only nitpicked |
So what about all the questions and concerns that have been made known on Eko Atlantic and the environment issues? We should NEVER ASK THEM because you have chosenb to believe that LAGOS is YOUR PARADISE and SO NO QUESTIONS should ever come up as a result? We've answered your questions and we're not stopping you from asking more question/s , if you have any that is. This is about lagos state and anything goes, At least try to be consistent. I have seen how critical you are of Ibos offering you the same line of reasoning as excuses for why things remain the way they are in Ibo land and how their dream of a future Utopia is meaningless if the problems are not dealt with now. Yet what you have done from the very first post of yours on this thread is offer up the exact same reasoning as excuse for why your idea of this Utopia is final and definite. Please don't inject tribe, this has nothing to do with tribe or Igbo/Yoruba. we're talking about Lagos state/Government policies and Governance in general. |
You can not dictate what people post, you don't have to read, address or pay attention to the pictures if your eyes are allergic to them (good things). Just move on to the next desirable post, |
^Check the title of the thread. It isn't about "the guy". It is about a solution to bar beach breaching flood defenses. You just dodging the questions you've been asked by creating confusion.what difference does if make? Were you no the same pesin flooding threads with stupid ritual pictures wey no have anything to do with thread? I no the pictures go make you lose some more sleep, but hey, that's ya own headache. |
I guess you found the questions I asked too difficult then? No need hiding behind a wall of abuse.what question? you really shouldn't be talking and I shouldn't be wasting my time going back and forth with unnecessarily disgruntled people. You obviously open your mouth and criticize for nothing or just for the heck of it. It's really silly to be running around putting other people down when your own people are in pain and misery, when your own backyard is odious and hopelessly backward. Why not channel all that energy and start finding solutions to the huge and almost insurmountable problems facing your own people decades to come. Fashola is doing for Lagos on a daily basis what your stealing and looting leaders have not done and will never do for your people. You're misguided and fighting the wrong war, the war is in your back yard so go tend to it and quit wasting your time. |
Discussion on the viability of Eko Atlantic and potential environment impact turns into yet another thread on display of "SHINY THINGS" the governor is doing, but still no real answers to tons of questions that continue to remain? Sign!!! Nigerians, save thine own selves!!!Your so labeled "shinny things" happens to be critical answers to some of the problems facing the country and Nigeria in general. You have any Idea how many Nigerians die each year because of lack of lousy and sub par driving skills, Ignorance of and inability to read and understand road safety signs, driving with bad eye sight, deaths caused by abandoned vehicles on our roads? Abi their deaths don't mean shit to you? Abi the jobs created are not needed? Abi we don't deserve good and sane drivers on our roads? What about the Skill Acquisition Center? Do you even know the meaning of skill acquisition? or is it not part of the answers to our unemployment situation and huge skill less population? Investing in manpower is key to development in any society. Giving people skills and knowledge to better themselves and become independent, productive and tax paying members of the society is not on priceless, it's what good and responsive governments do. What do you want from the guy? What problems do we have that this guy is not addressing daily? He is practically building a civil and meaningful society from scratch brick by brick. Caring for 18 million people is obviously not an easy task and he remains on task delivering one or 2 things daily. Shortsightedness and the need to criticize and nitpick clouds your judgment and deprives you of common sense and rational thinking. |
and how you yourself sabi wetin Ritualistic Manner of eating? the kind on nonsense people det post sef, |
