Christianity EtcRe: 5 Ways Demons Gain Access To Our Homes by babestell(f): 2:53pm On Aug 22, 2014
God's Promises
…12 If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the LORD your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your forefathers.
13 He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land--your grain, new wine and oil--the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land that he swore to your forefathers to give you.
14 You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor any of your livestock without young.
15 The LORD will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you.
16 You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.
17 You may say to yourselves, "These nations are stronger than we are. How can we drive them out?"
18 But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt.

19 You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the miraculous signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear.
20 Moreover, the LORD your God will send the hornet among them until even the survivors who hide from you have perished.
21 Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.
22 The LORD your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you.
23 But the LORD your God will deliver them over to you, throwing them into great confusion until they are destroyed.
24 He will give their kings into your hand, and you will wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand up against you; you will destroy them.
25 The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the LORD your God.
26 Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Utterly abhor and detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.

Once more. We need concrete evidence to back up what the OP said or we don't believe it. The era of misquoting out of context should end.

FamilyRe: Is It Wrong To Delegate Some House Bills To A Wife? by babestell(f): 8:53am On Aug 20, 2014
Godmystrength: Instead of just delegating to her, why can't they both sit down and plan their finances and decide who takes care of what together? Who knows, the woman might even take up more than ''soup things'' if they follow the approach. Personally, i won't want this kind of scenario where my man just looks at me and say, hey you, you will be in charge of soup things just like that? IS that the only thing i can be usefull for? So say tommoro he is short of cash and i am not aware of he will just call me again and say hey you, add foodstuffs and provision to the soup matter and that's it? i don't want that. I prefer we sit down and both look at our income and also our expected spending and jointly agree on how to take care of it and also draw our savings plan together......

If a man look at me and on his own decides to delegate soup things of all things to me, then i will just assume that he thinks i am useless to him o.

Except the woman has proved overtime that she is not ready to contribute anything then i can't blame man if he uses the delegating approach sha...
You said exactly what I had in mind. Good one!.

This exactly how I would want my marriage to be
FamilyRe: Is It Wrong To Delegate Some House Bills To A Wife? by babestell(f): 7:59am On Aug 20, 2014
egopersonified: Abeg, whoever doesnt want to share, is on her own oh. Tmrr, when she would see her friend riding an expensive car she bought jointly with her husband or taking trips financed by both parties, she would sit up.
The problem is that she won't believe that it is the couple that paid for it. In her mind she will cling to the imagination that the husband bought it for the wife. and use that to torment hers grin
FamilyRe: Is It Wrong To Delegate Some House Bills To A Wife? by babestell(f): 7:57am On Aug 20, 2014
what would be an issue for couple a might not be for couple B.

I don't personally see anything there in providing funds for "soup" or any other thing for that matter. I agree finances should be discussed before the wedding date so that issues like this will be trashed out. The guy probably delegated that duty to her because he sees her as a subordinate in terms of finances, If he saw her as an equal perhaps he would have sat down and had a discussion with her first on how to manage it. I know that in African culture the man provides all, but for peeps to live to a standard of choice, the woman may have to contribute heavily.

anyway to each his own. I will be offended if my hubby doesn't expect me to contribute

awhales: My friends and I have never lived a life of competition or lie. Like they say show me your friends and I will tell you who you are. The foundation of our friendship was not built on lies, jealousy or competition. It was built on love, yes we fall out, but we always find a way to settle amicably. God am blessed with gooood friends that have turned into sisters.
I believe this says it all.

God bless you.
FamilyRe: Single Friends Of Married Peeps. by babestell(f): 10:54am On Aug 19, 2014
tpia1 dear...I totally feel you. A lot of women live their lives by rules which they think society demands for them. Am not sure where they got those rules from. Also maybe its through the lack of role models. A lot of people grew up with mothers whose only friends were married women like them so its a concept they find hard to conceive. I grew up with 3 maiden aunts who swore never to marry so unmarriedness is not new or alien or weird.

I have married friends and even though I accept that our friendship took on a new face after they got married but it was not to the extent of cutting off communication or one person going on and on about the spouse and children as if that is the only thing we talk about. (And when we get together we gist about everything including boys, politics, money)

But then again, I insist that a lot of female friendships out there are the kind that didn't have a good foundation in the first place so I don't expect it to last when they experience perceived road blocks as this.

There is no excuse that has been given that cannot be resolved by sitting down with friends and planning how to manage issues and future clashes.

He will kiss my feet and tickle my tummy and make breakfast for me and do my laundry and buy me expensive stuff and take me out to dinner and let me go clubbing and tell me am beautiful even when I cry.

Why not?
FamilyRe: Single Friends Of Married Peeps. by babestell(f): 12:06pm On Aug 18, 2014
Sweetlemon: It's JEALOUSY. Nothing else.

Women and insecurities. They don't even like it when you have a boyfriend and they don't. Not to talk of when you are married.
It may not always be jealousy. Some girls just grow up hearing all sorts of crap about how to live their life, what society expects from them etc that when they are faced with situations like this they do not know how to react.

Someone on this thread said she dropped all her single friends when she got married and only hooked up with them when they got married too. If those single friends had complained, it wouldn't have been out of jealousy.

Also those friendships where girls quarrel because one is hooked up and the other is not are mostly built on flimsy premises. All those fast friendships that I saw girls build up in school that always scattered before end of semester because of stupid reasons. grin

FamilyRe: Single Friends Of Married Peeps. by babestell(f): 6:52am On Aug 18, 2014
I am shocked when people say that single and married ladies should not be friends. Simply because they have different priorities!! So what?

Must friends always share things in common? Its like saying staunch Christians and Muslims can't be friends because they have different religious priorities. Some friendships start from work, church, salon etc. Each of these circumstances may not need a strong influence from the family at home.

Please lets open our minds. Such friendships are possible just that each individual should be matured enough to appreciate the differences.

Very soon, people will say they can't be friends with divorcees or widows or 2nd wives.
FamilyRe: Single Friends Of Married Peeps. by babestell(f): 6:39am On Aug 18, 2014
The author is just 26 and she has issues. If she gets to 30 nko what will she do? She has to understand that priorities have changed. Either she gets with the program or she drops out. My besties are all married and yes we can't hang out as much as we used to but even then we still remain friends. I have gotten used to hearing complains about husbands and kids...And I know when to join or not join the chorus.

Its tough especially in our society where being unmarried is viewed as a curse but if you are at peace with yourself no shaking

Mother Mary,

I remeber all those times I ran to you in prayerful intercession and you in your Maternal love granted my request.

I thank God for His gift of you to the whole Humankind.

I will continue to pray my rosary for my intercessions as well as for those who refuse to believe.

After all if you get an Oil and gas mega paying job in another state, Will you not go there alone.

I don't see anything wrong with it. yes the pressure is much from men who do not have any good plans for you, but that will only affect you if you are not matured enough to handle attention.

CareerRe: Offshore Oil Worker, lets Meet Here by babestell(f): 8:17am On Aug 11, 2014
IYIMAN: top10nigeria.. You are very right, so many dept. / varying employment levels offshore. Contracts/contractors staff , support staff all work offshore, not everyone get paid in millions: in fact, some don't earn up to a million annually.
I only wonder why the core staff of indigenous companies still earn less than 10million (engineers..... Mechanical, instrument, operations, electrical & co). Medics and safety guys even get less in this companies. Oil majors/ IOC is the best to work for.
Apart from the salary, there are several incentives not obtained in the indigenous firms, in terms of allowances and training opportunities.
You are very right but I think the indigenous companies are stepping up
Oando, Seplat, Waltersmith, Addax are trying. People are leaving IOCs to work for them, and that can only because they they are getting better offers.

But yeah, a lot still needs to be done

Where are the ladies na? Abi we don't have nairaland females working offshore. Babes represent na.

Am a petroleum engr so I visit the rigs on a need to basis. My worst experience on a rig wad when we had drilling containment issues and were in danger of getting a kick and this was a gas well. I just grabbed my safety vest and stood by the life raft. My life was just flashing in front of me like cinema, we did take the kick but it was properly contained.

sometimes its tough. Have been the only femaleror maybe just 2 of us out of so many guys. And its not fun jor, too monotonous. I was on the rig during world cup and they made me watch football matches even when my fav programme was on on hip tv. Thank God I was able to pull seniority on some occasions.
Christianity EtcRe: Top 10 Astonishing Miracles (international) by babestell(f): 9:05am On Aug 03, 2014
Team Catholic all the way.

The list is mostly catholic because the Catholic Church takes time out to verify all miracles before apprving them. This is done using lastest scientific processes. So if a million people said thd sun stood still then yes it did. If the miracle happened today perhsps the robust astrological facilities we have on ground would have been used to verify it as well.

The miracle of uncorrupted corpses have been there for a while, and the corpses are available for anyone who wants to see before believing

I love my Church
