Chillisauce: It's not about female, this is some serious ish.The unemployment in Nigeria is scary . Now someone who has been out of job over half a decade with a mental issue suddenly lands an attractive government position.
If they wanna help her, they can start with getting something out of her ex husband and start up a firm for her rather than giving her a government job which I'm very very sure she didn't go through the assessment.

I know how it feels writing an exam and someone who didn't even appear for that gets the job.

And here we are, praising her.
I tire
Lol agree with you 100%

Chigold101: i dont know what u mean by incubators however, (1) in igboland for a woman to have children of outside mariage is rare. Anyone born like that will need lots of prayers to survive what will follow when he grows up. But if the child is a girl, she will not have much problem cos she would married outside the kindred (2) Even if that child follows his or mum home, when time for marriage comes he or she goes back to the father‘s place. Cos no igbo man until tomorrow will give u a child to marry or marry u as a woman without seing ur father or ur father‘s family. (3) if ur mum was duely married ur mum‘s family will not give u any inheritance cos ur inheritance is in ur father‘s place. Unless that child has decided to remain in the city & not to have anything to do with igbos in igboland.
1) And that is why the abortion rate is very high in the east. Also I see a lot of single moms and dad around in the east so maybe that notion is changing. Please what do you mean by needing prayers to survive.

2) Am not sure of that, some igbo bois have been marrying all kind of gehs all over the place. Should we take a stroll to Tejuosho market, I ahve a lot of charismatic members there and their gist dey sweet

3) Your mum's family will not give you ancestral land as inheritance, every other thing can be bequeathed.

Cheers

A time will come when "I didn't know he was that type of man" will not be taken as an excuse. Am happy for her that she was able to get out alive, I hope she finds happiness in the future.

I hope her story serves as a lesson. Greed can be exhibited in various forms and excuses can be made for it. But in the end its still greed

Delightbaby: Some men became unserious once you agreed to date then unlike when they could go extra miles for them to woo you. You cherish what you value no matter how busy your schedule may seems to be. My candid advice is just for you to move on with your life. It might be that he has gotten someone else but just for him to have somebody to rest upon in case of any emergency/eventuality. GOD will give you a man that will love, cherish and be the one that will be sending texts and calling you every now and then
I totally agree with you. It happened to me twice before I realised what it was. The guy may think since he got the chick to say yes, then she should be the one to work on keeping it going while he makes up his mind on what he really wants

@princess666 face your life, and especially your studies. The biggest distraction for female students is the relationship they keep in school. Use your energy to read and plan your future. And pray that the real one comes along

Oya Sister Grayz,

By now you should know what to do.
we agree that the manner of approach used vy the guy wasn't the best but that's life. Maybe he put it that way because hr seriously couldn't think of another way.

You guys should sit down with book and pen and list out your options. Efemena_xy has already provided you some.

Maybe bros is just confused, who knows what kind of stories his friends have been telling him about house building, isn't it a time /resource's consuming activity. Please sit and talk it over. Then you sef try and contribute to the house project. I don't understand when you say you are not gonna pay for the wedding just support, how far is support for you?

Pray for the wisdom that comes from above to help two of you get through this stronger and better

FamilyRe: Beating Your Wife : How Mr Sule Physically Abused His Wife To Death by babestell(f): 8:07am On Jul 28, 2014
Unfortunately a lot of women get married for the wrong reason, mostly just so that they answer "mrs" and remove the shame of "singlehood".

And also we have the girls who think marriage is an easy way to a meal ticket instead of trying to develop themselves

Then when the abuse starts its difficult for them to react appropriately because this was suppose to be their dream come true.

44chux: Entry qualifications determine career path.
HND becomes an operator (spends his productive years on a distant field) running d machines
B.eng travels from field to field gathering info, diagnosing and troubleshooting anomalies and processes upsets, approving plans and designs, etc
B.sc ends up in the base office doing paperwork.
Itz very difficult to migrate from one to the other path
I studied maths and i work as an Engr. I can give you numerous examples of peeps like me in my industry. Its very doable
FamilyRe: Thread For Single Mothers/ Fathers by babestell(f): 8:19am On Jul 22, 2014
Please i didn't see anywhere on this thread where people are encouraging others to be single parents. If anything some of them have shared how hard it was and how they struggled to surmount it.

Nobody has said it was easy. They are just sharing their stories. Please lets not get all judgmental on them, single parent hood s not a new thing. Besides we are talking about all forms of single parents ( never married, divorced, death etc)

Let them share their stories and we advise and rejoice we them as we can.

God give us strenght

Ishilove: Stories that leave one introspective. Abortion is never an option (for those who were never married). The important thing is learn your lessons, don't repeat your mistake and love that child. Don't make the child pay for your actions.
My dear the bolded needs to be emphasized. Don't make the child hate the other parents, hate men or women, think people are untrustworthy

Don't turn the child into an extension of yourself, Give the child opportunities to get role models in the sex he/she is without and help the child not to repeat your mistakes.

God bless us all

chineloSA: Those who are single parents ( those who were never married and married and divorced) I salute their courage, but I get worried when people come on social or public forums and bit their chests and say " I am proud of being a single parent" ( particularly those who were never married )
1) Ignoring the fact that its not about them and their mistake but its about a child who will be psychologically affected because of an absent father.

Yes it was a decision/ mistake that you did and you had a child out of wedlock, but its not good to condone and justify your behavior on a public forum where the younger generation will learn from you that its OK to be a single parent ( refering to those who never married ).

Having a baby before marriage is " NOT GOOD " for the child. Being single maybe good for you but but a child needs the father.

I am not judging those who are unwedded single parents but I am against those who paint a picture for the younger generation that " single parenthood " is the way to go.
DON'T DECEIVE other people. Single parenthood is harder financially, emotionally etc than you paint it to be. undecided undecided

For christians looking into have children before wedlock, here are words for thought
Wisdom of Solomon 4 : 16 - 19
( Read this chapter and let's debate ) huh
Why concentrate on missing dads? what of missing moms. After all we have single dads on this thread. My mom died when i was 10yrs and my brother 1yr so he has been trained by a single dad his whole life.
Nobody actually sets out to have kid out of wedlock, 80% are actually mistakes of the youth. The 20% who purposely have kids out may do it with ulterior motives (eg to force someone to marry or just wanna have kids cos they are getting old) Nobody said it is rosy and easy and this thread is to encourage them.

Besides why won't single parents beat their chest and be proud. Considering all the odds they had to surmount to get themselves and their kids to where they are.

cutiedave: tanx bro.am just concerned abt there being job opportunities for maths graduates
I studied maths in Unilag and i got a job with Deloitte almost immediately after service. Most of my mates with good grades got good jobs as well. I left Deloitte to work in an IOC.

I had 6 job offers when I finally decided on Deloitte and the IOC. 2 of them were international positions. And note this was with just my Maths BSc from Unilag, Mathematics and Physics are 2 very versatile courses, don't be deceived aand like a previous poster advised you a BSc in Maths is better than an OND in Engr.
