CrimeRe: Security Man Breaks ATM, Steals N12m by babestell(f): 7:42am On Jun 26, 2013
I doubt if the guy stole 12million. He may have stolen less but the whole amount is being put on his head to cover the tracks of those who probably stole it through other means. Didnt the bank know that they had CCTV since. Or is it possible for 12 million in one ATM.

I hoped he would be more specific. is he building new industries and factories in the state where these young men will be gainfully employed? Has he startd off a free adult education scheme where they can learn skills to equip themselves to function as responsible adults in the society?
BTW why are Nollywood actor/resses hailing him, did he sponsor any movie or set up a film school or movie market for them.

grin This is a welcome development, The spirit will lead him to use his wealth to empower people and better the life of the common man starting from his community. Because of his generosity people will praise the name of the Lord non stop. He will set the trend for MOGs who do not need offering money or tithe. I forsee a lot of wonderful things coming to pass because Baba Iyabo answered the call of GOD.
But then of course this is just a rumour!!! angry

RomanceRe: Reasons Why He Won't Propose by babestell(f): 11:09am On Jun 23, 2013
Some of these listed points are social skills which can be changed if the guy just teaches the ladies. Others border on communication, I used to be friends with my ex until my present said said he wasnt comfortable with it, I discharged ex quick quick. No 15 will continue to be a challenge because I am yet to meet any parent who will telk their daughter not to work in an oil company or big paying employer because it will pursue husband. No 17 is false because guys generally appreciate what they cant get....too long should be put in context....(eg is he chasing you for sex or for rep amongst his colleagues). I met a guy who said all muslim gals who wear hijabs or christians who tie scarf are dirty because their hair must be smelling, I know a lot of guys will disagree with him
So I still insist that if a guy loves you he will try to make things work instead of just dumping you immediately and sometimes will even live with your faults.
Christianity EtcRe: Ridiculous Church Names In Nigeria by babestell(f): 5:59pm On Jun 21, 2013
;DOPM: Omega Power Ministry alias DR JESUS. mY friend told me a story of how church members were asked to buy pawpaw or pineapple and then GO?pastor prayed over it and then asked them to throw it. By that symbolic act they were throwing the bombs at their enemies and whatever plans the enemies had. Her take was that any business minded pawpaw/coconut/pineapple seller would have made money that day because some people bought over 20 of such items. grin

Ubenedictus and Chuks, una get time. I hope you both are aware that the reason for this thread has been defeated with this back and forth arguments. Everyday I wake I say a Hail Mary and I pray that I may exihibit the virtues of this most holy mother. grin I ;Dam also asking her to touch the hearts of all those confused catholic brothers in Mater grin grin
On a more serious note, She has always been there for me. In secondary school, I had a friend who was experiencing spiritual attacks, I gave her the rosary to wear and the attacks stopped, just by wearing the rosary. She said she could see her attackers but they could not touch her. Unfortunately she left the school a few weeks later as her parents were very concerned.
The divide between The Church and other Christians will always be there, as long as humans beings are involved, So please can we get this thread back on track cheesy

My dear, I solidly behind you on this long hair quest. I have very short hair, like 4 inches, been struggling with it since. It just keeps cutting, I finally started a castor oil treatment, I think its working. If my hair can just get to shoulder lenght. I would be so happy.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Tree Falls In Imo, Killing 31 & Injured 16 by babestell(f): 1:15pm On May 18, 2013
I was in tears when I hsard this story. I spent my childhood trying to beat my record of how long it would take to run round the tree. My dad says the tree must be more than 400years because his grandmom told him that her own grandmom was still a child when the tree was already old. In the hey days before the akwakuma to hardel road was built, I think 15 or more persons to encircle the tree, just to give u an idea how big it was. When the road was built, part of the tree was shaved off, its roots dug up and I think that contributed to the fall. The tree has been dieing slowly for years. The rain/breeze that fell it, shouldnt have been able to do so if not that it was weak (thats what I think) a husband and wife were died. Under tree is the market place, so I know a lot of the victims will be market women or those took shelter from the rain under it. May their souls rest in peace.

The tree Ukwu uko was massive, imposing Landmark. As a child when we travel back home I would stare at it imagining wondrous creatures living in it.it was both
scary because of its size to me as a child ,and a relief because I knew that once I saw the tree I was a few minutes away from home. The tree should have been properly cared for it was an archaeological artifact. It just goes to show that all things must oneday die. I love Umudagu mbieri my villa because we are peaceful people and it hurts that we made news in such a sad way .
May the souls of the dead rest in peace amen! May they rest in peace.

CultureRe: The Marvelous Culture Of The Igbos And Igboland by babestell(f): 9:13pm On Apr 24, 2013
How old are you? I think we are saying the same thing. The father was wrong in refusing to let the daughter marry just because the guy was Osu (big hypocrisy). In my place we have an Osu village so we always hear this gist of wedding plans getting foiled, and that's probably why though I am far younger than you I have experienced it more. Not everyone thinks like that sha, I agree that the mentality is changing big thanks to the efforts of the churches but fragments of it still remains in some communities.

Abagworo: Nobody knows who is Osu or not until marriage. So everything you wrote are all fabricated. Tell me where this happens. For example at my age I don't know any Osu. The only time I've heard of it was when a friend of mine wanted to get married and her father did thorough investigation and discovered her fiance was Osu and refused to give out his daughter even when the Church and his wife were pleading with him. I also had a friend from Oraukwu in Anambra State whose Dad said she must marry a Catholic from Oraukwu because he's a Knight. She dated an Anglican from Awka for years and even abscounded with him only for her Dad to arrest him and take back the daughter. So stop trying to paint a false picture of Osu.

Acidtalk

Good one here.....I know some companies have cooperatives where they can deduct a certain amount from your salary before you even get the alert. For those who have trustworthy coops in their company its a good way to save. But the keyword is DISCIPLINE. I didn't start to read financial self help books or save until I read "the richest man in babylon" and since then I have learnt to save 1/10th of whatever I earn. I save even before I pay tithes and pay bills. cos the money always looks small after I have done that cry

Its very difficult cos the consumer culture is very catching, but also its not a crime to give yourself a treat once in a while, we just have to balance the 2. grin
CultureRe: The Marvelous Culture Of The Igbos And Igboland by babestell(f): 12:58pm On Apr 24, 2013
Abagworo: Its either you are not Igbo or you are one of those surrounded by non-Igbos that tell you lies about your tradition and you believe them. Osu has been done away with in Igboland but there still exists pockets of hardliners and FYI it was only marriage and title taking that the Osu couldn't engage with non-Osu. Its same as some families till today refusing to marry Catholics because they are Pentecostal or Catholics refusing to give Knighthood to a Protestant.
Am proudly Igbo and I am talking from experience. I know a lot of young couples who faced and are facing challenges just because one of them is Osu. Please don't say it has been done away with There are a lot of communities where the practice is still held to and it usually comes to fore when marriage is being discussed (that's why I called it hypocrisy). I know the church has really tried stamp it out, but a lot of people are stuck in their ways. Also in the olden days being Osu went beyond just marriage and chieftaincy...In some places Osu was a second class citizen. And when I say olden I don't mean last century.

You cannot compare it to the bolded for the reason that the degree of humiliation is far greater in the osu case. Am catholic and I hope to marry a catholic but that doesn't mean I can embarrass or humiliate or deny a protestant his fundamental rights or force them to live in segregated communities. In the Osu case it was possible to do such to them.
CultureRe: The Marvelous Culture Of The Igbos And Igboland by babestell(f): 9:14am On Apr 24, 2013
One of the few Igbo traditions that I totally disagree with is that of the Osu caste system. Unfortunately it is still practiced in my village. And some people have refused to accept that it has to be done away with. if we were to stick to the old traditions then we should have nothing at all to do with them (some places you ca drink from the same cup as Osu). Nowadays I think most people just stick to marriage. you can interact with them but u cant marry. To me that is the biggest hypocrisy ever

But apart from that, Am proudly Igbo. OP thanks for educating me some more about my people. Unfortunately am one of those my-papa-tell-me-say-I-be-igbo (blame my parents for not training me well)
