Ruggedniggaone:He's only a failed project if you make him one. It's in our hands my brother. He's not perfect but he's trustworthy, competent and has no business with corruption. Me and you can let the "real politicians" understand that we own them. That we have choices. That we're not slaves. |
Patriotsleague:No need to call names but true we need to properly scrutinize all our candidates. Who are you rooting for? |
Patriotsleague:Ok I understand you're angry but it's there on Twitter as well. Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba people calling him out on there too. I like that you're scrutinizing the candidate but from my research, I'd say Peter Obi though not perfect but is still the best candidate for Nigeria right now. In your opinion, who do you think is best for Nigeria and why? |
omohayek:There are ports just like there are refineries in Nigeria but we still import fuel lol. You should know the truth by now brother. It's either those ports are condemned far beyond repair or working at 1% productivity. |
Patriotsleague:Scroll down a little on this thread and see the truth was revealed. Reno was the liar. |
SeriouslySense:The joke flew over your head like the dolphins on my post |
zionstaar75:Immediately America was colonised by the British, Spanish and French, the first thing they did was set sail for Africa to begin slavery that went on for 400 years. America wasn't colonised for it's labour or market to be exploited. America had nothing on it, just Indians. They took everything from Africa to America. Royalty was taxing entrepreneurs highly (esp in Britain) so they decided to build their empire made from African slavery in America instead. I used to be like you. I used to say "how can we blame people that left over 60 years ago". When I got the bottom of it, I realised how naive I had been. The only reason why some African countries were better off then was because they still had their natural resources like gold to trade until the Europeans took EVERYTHING. African countries that had gold have none now. Back to the main point of leaders. The politics and capitalism we see today in Africa was taught to us by Europeans and the way they did that was with hate, racism and exploitation of labour. What European writers love to point out is that they informally taught Africa industrialisation but they purposely exclude the part where they taught us political exploitation informally. Formally, they trained offsprings of our kings to see themselves as Europeans first. They also trained cadets to the highest level to carry out these political exploitations. An e.g is Buhari. The good side of educating these cadets and offsprings of kings is that they got to understand the value of independence so they fought for it but along the way, some bad eggs amongst them learnt that Nigeria could be exploited and our illiteracy capitalised on which was the core of Colonialism. The colonials knew what they did when they joined northern and southern Nigeria. Whatever "script, syllabus etc" you see these our leaders playing out is not even original. They're only copying what the Europeans did. The solution, just like what triggered the cadets and offsprings of kings to fight for our independence, is the same. EDUCATION. Even Europeans were exploited by their own rulers X100 of what we have today I mean they still let Monarchs like Queen Elizabeth and the new King rule them without voting till date. We were under colonial masters for 100 years until the colonials do mistake educate us to do their office work because they got lazy and in 2 years people were already fighting for independence . Just a taste of education esp in the north go trigger crazy revolts so KEEP EDUCATING PEOPLE! |
All of you saying Lagos is overrated and all that should keep shut. The lack of proper drainage system that led to this flooding is on purpose. THEY'RE PREPARING THE ESTATE FOR DOLPHINS.
|
kettykin:I'm not even from Akwa Ibom but I want so badly for those things to happen to this state. I only ever hear good news from there. I pray to God and our ancestors and the motherland that something changes in the next election. Nigeria could be on the path of rapid development in the next 6-7 years. |

YOU ALL NEED TO DIG DEEP INTO HISTORY TO TRULY UNDERSTAND WHY YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ALL THESE BRITISH MONARCHS AND THEIR KIDS. (1) The main purpose of colonising was to exploit the African continent of its resources, market and labour. In this case, Britian on Nigeria and the queen gave them funding from their treasury of slave trading Africans to invest in The Niger company. (2) Colonisers were racist to Nigerians (Africans) (3) Colonisers treated their subordinates or equal Africans with hate, zero respect and paid them less. (4) The Colonisers had special cadets trained to carry out their bidding of exploitation in Africa. E.g Buhari had high military trainings overseas and in Nigeria. (5) Colonisers taught us politics. (6) These cadets and subordinates fought for our independence as it so happens that they were the most educated Nigerians but they had also learnt exploitation and evil capitalism informally along the way. (7) These African cadets and subordinates of European education grab power, exploit and capitalise on the African people. (8.) Nigerians were too busy fighting each other and failed to revolt against the British to get back all what they lost. (That's why all our sculptures are still in UK till date lol) The British saw remains of Colonialism but without their political interference and so them no put mouth in wetin them teach us. That is, they're still getting our exports for cheap. Their companies are still mining our natural resources. We're still getting poor quality imports for more and it hasn't stopped for a day. Whatever you see today in Nigeria with Buhari or Tinubu either divide and rule method or using uneducated side against educated ones, Europeans did it best to us. All Africans need to unlearn a lot of things. |
zionstaar75:You need to read further into our history to truly understand why we're here. (1) The main purpose of colonising was to exploit the African continent of its resources, market and labour. Africans were too busy fighting each other and failed to revolt against Europeans to get back all what they lost. (That's why all our sculptures are still in UK till date lol) The Europeans saw and it must have felt like Colonialism but without their political interference and so them no put mouth in wetin them teach us. That is, they're still getting our exports for cheap. Their companies are still mining our natural resources. We're still getting poor quality imports for more. Whatever you see today in Nigeria with Buhari or Tinubu either divide and rule method or using uneducated side against educated ones, Europeans did it best to us. All Africans need to unlearn a lot of things. The very first post on this thread was someone saying Colonialism had it's good sides. That man is lost. |
onez:I'm not gonna be mad at you because I know it's because you don't know. I used to be like you until I educated myself. Read this book thoroughly 'How Europe Underdeveloped Africa'. The said "good sides" were written by the colonisers themselves so how good do you think it is? Most of the bad things you see in Nigeria right now is the system that colonisers left in place. The underpaid jobs, rude administrators, poor quality of imports, wicked capitalism but worst of all is the amalgamation of the country Nigeria itself that birth this current nonsense political atmosphere we have today. |
Demigod22:I totally agree! The consciousness of the populace is going under that even former readers are now glued to tv screens, forgetting that there's a huge difference between movies and books. Sad! Thanks for the recommendations! You could check out Anxious People by Frederick Backman for mystery and a touch of reality. |
Demigod22:What are the odds lol I just finished with Native Son and last week How Europe Underdeveloped Africa. I highlighted several points and tried to liken it to what is going on today in Nigeria and even posted on my WhatsApp, nobody could even discuss. Tell me your favourite book of all time and I'll begin reading right now . I'll also add those up there to my list.Wish there was a WhatsApp group for readers. |
Mstick:A presidential aspirant on live shows? Vividly explaining his vision and his agenda for the country he's planning to govern? No that's too bizarre. Let's stick to decoding his parables and guessing his intentions for us lol |
ElSudani:Oh I forgot I quoted you. I was trying to make an intro lol. In truth it has nothing to do with being the capital. I believe it was chosen as the capital in 1960 because of its level of development. My main point is of the effect of capitalism left by the whites in the colonies. Another point is that big changes takes time and therefore Tinubu's works in public office can only be recognised if his successors finish them so how is Tinubu already getting praises when it's not yet time? |
ElSudani:The whites chose Lagos as their hub for the exploitation of capitalism. Being the capital has nothing do with capitalism lol |
ElSudani:You just answered your own question. Yes it happened because Lagos was a former capital. Lagos was one of the few cities in Africa that had continued with exporting one or two items even after we had become a continent that depended on Europe. And so, the whites chose cities like Gold Coast, Lagos, S.A, Kenya as their HQ for colonising to further exploit exports through Capitalism. In Lagos, the whites developed roads that led to water banks(Lagos Island) for easy export of our underpriced raw materials and exports and they built several companies and banks to further exploit us. By the time we regained our freedom, Lagos had bred a lot of entrepreneurs (major capitalist) who were teeming to copy exactly what the whites were doing(capitalism). So no. Tinubu did not do anything. Whatever you see as progress in Lagos is simply a result of the forces of capitalism in an overpopulated state. |

faithfull18:Hi, I'm thinking of joining a Foursquare church around my house for their Sunday service and it seems like you attend one. If you don't mind, I'd like to know what Foursquare services are like. How long is service? Is the Sunday service anything like Redeem's? Do they welcome new comers? Is there a dress code? (Because I have a beard). Thank you kindly. |
eforce:If only there was an award for church tourists... |
Throwback:Do you really believe these words? Especially that last paragraph. We literally just had 8 years of APC. Are you real? You’re scaring me We’re in a serious economic meltdown and we need financial experts and for once in pitiable post-colonial mistake of a country we have two. Peter and Datti. Is it that hard to just not be the way you are? |
ruphytelecom:How much is screen replacement for Lenovo Legion Y540? |
Nyascobar1414:The drug movement back then was wicked compared to now. They literally had Italian mobs and Mexican gangs doing all sorts. And they also had a depression so bad that they named it “The Great Depression “. So what are you talking about? |
1Sharon:The comment I was looking for. Very racially motivated tears. He’s 100 years old and he’s talking about freedom. What else could he mean if not blacks lol |
Habeyy:My brother from Ogun. Peter Obi is a financial expert. Let us try one of those for a change instead of pretenders. |
Tell me a better match up than ORIGI AND EVERTON? BIG CCCOCK DIVOCK

Top of the table and we're staying there . Btw is someone pulling Sadio Mane's shirt spiritually? Look at how Jota is breezing through Watford while Mane looks like he's struggling to run. Very concerning how slow Mane is getting. |
