Any alliance between Fulani and South is wash! Why can't we have a Yoruba/ Igbo alliance? An Igbo/Middle belt or Yoruba/Middle belt alliance for once? Must they be part of every government? |

JoeEeL: How you idiots in the south reason beats my imagination.
Complete morrons!
So we Yorubas should be given up as an experiment or specimen to keep being killed up till 2023? Like is that the nonsense you mean? Are you so dumb not to have realised that both top presidential candidates of the past election are actually Fulani? Is Atiku not Fulani?
What if its 2 Fulanis that run for the same post again, so Yorubas should keep enduring being maimed, driven and conquered on their own lands till 2027?
Your dumbness behooves me!

Break up this damned arrangement and let me return to what I originally was : Oodua Nation.
Backward thinking idiots!! I'm Yoruba like you, but what can we do now that we seem to be too cowardly and compromised? I hate the situation but our farmers seem to be incapable of defending themselves and their farmlands! It's quite a shame because these people have the federal support, obviously. The only hope is to vote a Southerner in in 2023, at least the farmlands will be safe. |

Angelfrost: I really don't get why y'all keep harping on 2023 that is at least 2 years away... What happens in the interim?!!
So, everything going wrong with the nation especially these nuisance and terrorist nomads should be allowed to continue all because we hope a Southerner takes over come 2023?!!... This is not right.
See America hounding their president even with just few days left in office, but Nigerians are prepared to put up with suffering and death till an unknown and uncertain 2023. This doesn't make sense to me.
Every state in the South needs to collectively expel these terrorists!!! Speak with one voice and demand that they leave the same way they came. I fully understand your point and I share your opinion...my fear is just that we have been weakened to the roots by our leaders, such that we are now too afraid to defend ourselves and territories! How do we explain a situation where policemen watch herders attack people without blinking an eye? How do we explain the case of Ogun traditional rulers who had to write a petition against the NA for forcing the villagers to allow herders graze on cultivated farmlands? My fear is that we are too cowardly to act, we are too divided to collaborate on anything in the South! |

I hope we have the consciousness and conscience to do the right thing by 2023. I hope people will be sensible enough to vote right, otherwise, another 8 years of suffering in silence awaits everyone! To the killer herders and their sponsors, I say: Enjoy your "imu-ni-ti" while it lasts |

Rockyheight: THE POLITICS OF REPORTING ÀMỌ̀TẸ́KÙ
Today, the South West Security Network codenamed Àmọ̀tẹ́kún is said to have gunned down a number of criminals terrorizing Ibarapa axis of Ọ̀yọ́ state in a gun duel that lasted several hours. The security personnel also sustained various injuries and it is likely some of them have paid the supreme price.
However, report of the activities of Àmọ̀tẹ́kún by national dailies recently left a lot of questions in the heart of discerning mind. Àmọ̀tẹ́kún were reported by some dailies to have killed Fulani herdsmen and not criminals. This is how the fourth estate of the realm help fan embers of war and discord.
The fact remains that Àmọ̀tẹ́kún was created to fight criminals and not because of a particular ethnic group as newspapers have been painting it. The UI student alleged to have been shot by Àmọ̀tẹ́kún is not a Fulani. Thugs recently fought by the security outfit in Ibadan were not Fulani but Yoruba.
Saying Àmọ̀tẹ́kún killed some bandits in Ibarapa today should have been the best way to report the incident and not that they killed some ethnic groups. I can still remember how Yoruba people were spraying money on a Fulani/Bororo boy singing Fuji music around World Oil Petrol Station around Iwo Road in Ibadan few years back. That is who we are; we are accommodating to any tribe that is not criminally minded.
Let those who want to paint Àmọ̀tẹ́kún bad remember that even though their agenda was to kill Àmọ̀tẹ́kún and foster spirit of the Nigeria nationhood, what they are saying could also fan ethnic clash and genocide. Àmọ̀tẹ́kùn is not against Nigeria unity, it was created to secure southwest from rising crime of banditry, farm destruction, rape of rural women, kidnapping, armed robbery and proliferation of arms.
Crime is crime irrespective of who committed it and the security operative is charged with fighting crime, not Fulani herdsmen.
If an ethnic group is known for a particular crime, fighting criminals among them is not fighting the ethnic group. Let us be careful of how we report issues like this.
