It could be longer.. i could fill 3 to 4 pages here easily.. but I had to cut it short...

Goodness me, where do I even start on this issue.

I wouldn't say I have seen it all because people keep surprising me.

People need to understand that marriage, like tango .. it takes two to tango.. not just 2 people.. 2 people with the same mission, the same understand and the same goal.

I know it is not a perfect world, you can't automatically get that "perfect match" but hey you need to have a plan, communicate, don't make issues out of small things.. weather the storm "if it is salvageable " or walk away peacefully if it is not.

Again, my 9ja women yankee is not all that you watch in soap operas on TV.. a typical suit and tie 9 to 5 job , big house in a surbub and a nice car. Some of our men are working fingers to the bones, CNA, construction, taxi driver you name it... so it is not that all gravy.

My men dem .. ehm your wife is not a slave oo .. i know we have a patriarch background in 9ja but the setup in Nigeria is different from America.

Some of these little issues 9ja couples have is a minor issue mismanaged and blown out .but again it is all about understanding and communication.

I once worked with a Laotioan couple a while back, during lunch time, this woman leaves first, goes to the lunch room sets up table for 2 ( for herself and the husband).. warms up their food and the man walks as slowly as you can imagine like the king of the forest .. sits down and they eat, jist, laugh... the same table they sit all the time c
was nicknamed the couple's table ( I don't remember their name).. everyone gives way.. no one sits on that table when it is lunch time and these couple drive only one car.. they seem to be happy.. and they have been doing this for a decade plus.. *** I forgot to add** the woman makes more money than her husband.. she's been with the company for 5 years plus before her husband's business went belly up and he joined the company**

Now I am not advocating everyone should be like them but highlighting what understanding and communication etc could get you...

I dont want to bore anyone with examples of petty cases I have seen with my "2 naked eyes".

Okay, I will share more stuff as they come up.

As far as the micro estate, it’s a simple collective of 5 modern buildings. Each building has a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom flat. Phase 1 that I’m on has two buildings (1 building is almost up). The feel of the premises is to create a Southern California environment. Clean and well detailed, lots of palm trees, no petrol generators, each flat will have a 3kva solar system. Guaranteed dusk to dawn estate light, on-site 24/7 security as well as pressurized and filtered water.

I have another 2 acres nearby that I can develop if the experiment succeeds. If not then it can be turned into a hotel since it’s exactly 1/2 mile from the Ladoke Akintola train station.

Could you please throw more light on the the solar system.

1. They have their names boldly written on them, with s/n and date of production at the edges, while the China boards are mostly nameless

2. Comes in single sheet, while the China boards are mostly double packed with a paper tape to bind them. See image 1 and 2

3. You can feel the strength by lifting both

4. Site test: Cut a small piece of both(like 1ft by 1ft), dip in water for like an hour, one comes out useless, while the other remain solid, can be dried and reused.

not to derail this thread but does anyone remember when NAFDAC mandated that medications have a serial number and a verification line where one could text the serial number to verify authenticity.. boys some how, some way rigged the system.. they package a fake product with a serial number that confirms authenticity as a genuine product

I know a guy that is a distributor, company authorized.. but he still goes to China to make low quality product and package it like the real original product.. because he is a confirmed company authorized agent.. people think every product he sell are original.

No Good 12mm plasterboard sells for N6,000 per sheet bros, definitely China board which is even worse than using POP precast since what was packaged in it isn't Gypsum. Average Plasterboard like Turkish Gyprock and ABS is more than that not to talk of good boards like Siniat, Pladur and German Knauf.

How could one tell the difference between the nameless Chinese boards and the good boards like the German Knauf etc?

I know someone could say go to a dealer but sometimes the dealers repackage products.. you think you are buying the original, the real deal without knowing they repackaged a fake low quality product for you.

So is there any litmus test to tell the difference?

But I still believe there are other cheaper alternatives to POP but most suppliers mission is to "ridiculously " make materials expensive instead of working on making the prices lower and more affordable.

Fire-rated plasterboard are cheaper alternative. I’ve used plasterboards on so many project without issh.

You can as well look into suspended ceiling which is also a very good alternative.

HDF board is the best or you can combine (hdf for the carcass and mdf for the doors) both HDF and MDF to save cost.

nah bross, as we speak,it cost £50 to ship a ghana must go bag to 9ja, 6 weeks on the sea, delivered free to any address in Lagos.

That's the term we use if the filling sand is being lifted from anywhere else not in the site location. This sand is being loaded from another community in Anambra state.

Well, the reason I asked is the 3 bedroom flats seemed squished together... look at your site plan/ survey plan again and see if there are wiggle room to add more space. Maybe expand the length or width or both...

This will also give you more flexibility in addressing your concern about the kitchen door.

What I meant is that my toilet, stores and some other smaller places have single iron protector. This single iron protector could easily be broken under intense pressure if you are in emergency situation and wants to eject or exit the building. You break the protector and exit. This will be difficult with those strong iron protectors embedded inside the window walls. However, if your area is prone to armed robbery and burglary attacks, please safety first. Go for strong iron protectors and cover the whole place

I like your idea though. I have been researching for alternatives to the prison - like window protectors.
