jabolo:Man, please give this guy a break. Not many people would stand the rough test they put him through here. |
Leezah:Did you forget to upload the quote? |
I am actually expecting someone to ask michilins to post a picture of himself so they can verify he has hairs on his chest and not a fraud ![]() |
diordaves:Very well said. I like your objective reasoning!! |
michlins:No worries man. That's life. Someone said, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Lil Wayne said in his song drop the world,.. All this bullśhít makes me a strong Mótherfûcker ![]() Be strong, keep it honest and your time to shine will come. Ukwa ruo oge ya oda! |
I think the issue here regarding michilins is no one here have previously worked with him to offer testimony. But regardless, that doesn't mean he is a fraud.. let's drill this down, just writing objectively. Most of the clients and pros on this forums are domiciled in the Lagos- Oyo- Ogun states axis and they are more likely to come here and give testimony of someone because the chances of working with them are high. If you are considering a build in the East and are asking for a reference, everyone will be pointing to spyder880, not because he is the only builder in the SE, he is one of the few that I know that update their threads regularly and have worked in other regions of the country so people have crossed part with him and can offer lavish testimony on his behalf. There are other trusted builders domiciled in the SE region but they are not nairalanders and some that are, don't update their threads regularly. |
rajput4real93:Agreed!! That was very harsh. Personally I think they are making it difficult for michillins to prove himself, one was requesting a video of him working? What else do they need, a stool sample? I don't recall anyone ever been pushed like this, the only thing people say is open your thread to showcase your work. |
This have quickly turned to michilins show ![]() But man got a thick skin tho, ![]() |
The real issue is maintenance, maintenance.. Are they ready to use the allocated money for the airport to maintain it ? |
n3xt:You are on point but.. Like we all know design is a collaborative effort between the client and the architect. A client supposed to know what they want, considering the lifestyle they want, the purpose of the build , the family etc.. if they want to have a home office etc. Then Oga architect will put those dreams down on paper throwing in advise where necessary and the builder will bring the "clients dream house" to reality. My point on the previous quote and my examples where based on clients that did not participate on the "corroborative efforts " then blame themselves or the architect at the end. |
redgem:Ma'am, I am just a Nairaland trained Engineer ![]() But let me take a stab at this thing... Well, I would say yes! But I would highly suggest bringing in our real world expert on the subject matter. Spyder880, Aventure, N3xt Dennis3D Segzy14 And host of others I don't remember their monikers. Cheers!! |
redgem:No, Ma'am. My site is located in Asaba and I think they sourced local guys for the job. |
omanzo02:I respect your opinion but ... Actually the better wordings would be , clients should learn to communicate to the architect what they want and what they can afford. The client owns the build , he is the employer of the architect. Lots of times people contact an architect to design a 4 bedroom duplex for them with a masters bedroom. That's it!! Then the architect will go wild Some folks are regretting their build because they weren't fully involved in the design process, the build did not capture the "dream" that they wanted to bring to reality. I was driving with a friend one time, he saw a duplex under construction, liked it, we meandered to the site and he asked for the engineer.. they swapped contacts and he told the engineer to build exactly the same for him. All my effort to have him look at the floor plan, critique, make adjustments etc before the build fell on deaf ears.. well, in his defense, he was building with his money not mine... fair enough !! But that building have been on the market for sale for quite some time now because he didn't like the layout of the build.. it didn't feel right he said... this is after 40m+ spent on the build. He could have identified these things at the design stage. Another guy in my what's group commissioned an architect for a 4 bedroom bungalow. And oga architect delivered. He returned to the country to visit but wasn't happy... venting.. hin must kill the architect, architect built nonsense for him I asked , what was his brief to the architect.. he said to build a 4 bedroom bungalow! I asked how many rooms are they, he said 4 and I said very well then, you got 4 bedroom bungalow ![]() He said the architect should have known to make it all ensuite, this and that... hmmm... seriously? An architect should tell you how to spend your money? Should tell you what to like?? |
Stupid statement for a minister.. Who will coach the coppers, train and mentor the newly graduated doctors? Well, since that's what his wish for an average Nigerians to be treated by newly graduated medical doctors without appropriate training and mentoring.. may his families be the first patients they will attend to ![]() |
omanzo02:Exactly, but we have seen here that in some areas 30tons are significantly less than these prices we both paid for it. That's just the way the cookie crumbles. Certain things are cheaper on specific part of the country. In 2013-2014, a guy I know built 4 bedroom bungalow in Ekiti state for 5m turn key. Excluding land. Whether people supplied materials to him on credit ,I don't know but that was the total cash he spent. That figure is unthinkable in the East at that time frame. Before the lock down, egbon me and am they follow work was sweating profusely after purchasing a land somewhere in Ibadan ( i am not familiar with area) for 2.5m. For you to start pointing your hand left and right for a location like that in the east, you should have upwards of 8.5m before agent fee etc. |
Abolarin91:I actually paid 235k for a 30ton of granite last year September... location was Asaba.. they said quarry is at Edo state. The have to pay local government emblem for 20k, transportation etc. People that I know that purchased 30 ton around that area paid similar price.. was it cheap? Were they trying to drive Benz that quick ? Idk but that's what I paid. How much is 30 tons in your area (as of last year)? That is if you could remember. I have not purchased granite of recent so I don't know of the current price. As for the doors, yes I purchased them after 9ja full lock down few months ago and the price was about that range.. I can't find the receipt now but I did the math back then. The price was almost the same as wooden doors. |
Dribble ke, back in his playing days, he would have handed him his ankle ![]() |
Boy, I missed Gattuso's playing days. I don't know if there would be ever a Squad like the likes of Gattuso, Ambrosini, Nesta, Maldini, Pipo Inzaghi, Dida, Stam etc.. AC Milan was fun to watch back then. |
Enyinne:Man need to keep body and soul together, Man must whack ![]() |
n3xt:I was looking at the quote like Again, I don't know this welder they are beating up here and I haven't done any business with him. We have swapped few emails, yes and just like every one could testify, he is really eloquent. But we haven't done any business per se and I haven't met him. I make my comments solely from what I see on here. What I see is people badgering the guy. Just like a similar strategy used by Nigerian police force " you stole that phone, abi, just tell me you stole it and I will let you walk" Corrupt cops everywhere else in the world also do this. This guy have repeatedly stated here, I do some of this work, I pay helper if I have to, I sub the work if there's need for it.. yes , I look online or my colleagues work and see the finished products, if you want them, we will talk the price , I might do some of it, hire a helper to assist or bring in a colleague to assist... people, what is unusual about these arrangements ![]() Is there any engineer here, architect or the likes that will come here and testify that when they have a big job, they do it all by themselves or when they have projects in multiple states, multiple cities at the same time that they are always present throughout the build at every second workmen are on site?? No, they visit the sites frequently yes, but they have a helper that keeps the troops in line, a head bean counter. I know a reputable builder here but won't drag his name in this conversation ( it is unnecessary) i don't know how many builds he was handling at that moment but I know he was handling a project of 2 of my friends at the same time.. his crew were tied up on a different project and he sourced artisans from the place the projects were situated ... does that mean he is a fraud? No, he delivered a superb build , and I have seen the updates he sent to his clients, the everything, have seen the build myself. It was amazing.. I really wish I could mention name here but I won't drag him here. That this welder didn't have much of his work posted in a thread. I have engaged an architect here on nairaland that only have few of their work posted, plus a thread not regularly updated for years, but he delivered my work for me and I am happy for it.. I asked why he doesn't update his thread for a potential of more work, he said he doesn't have the time to update the thread, answer back and forth questions and he is doing well for himself. Just recently, couple of months ago. I came across this posting of a lady advertising her husband's work.. the husband is a carpenter- makes furniture.. she didn't know how to update the threads, make it entertaining etc..like uploading pictures, prices etc.. but she was quickly advised to and she did. She didn't have bunch of thread littering nairaland advertising her husband's work either. I am glad to inform you that I engaged her and husband for a project and they delivered ( it was not for me, but I gifted that to someone). The person that received it was happy with what their hand work. The reason why I engaged their services was not because of thread or no thread. I was happy how that lady was trying to ginger for more business for her husband. My reasoning could be faulty, I know but the money was coming out of my pocket not yours ![]() Again, due diligence is still required, this is not a testimony of how good the welder is but in this climate of fraudulent activities..let's not simply "assume " and come up with stories ( that are really not triggers of fraudulent activities). As for the price of those doors.. I am currently on top of a project that I was forced to use iron internal doors( I argued and failed to convince folks). The price per door was actually in the neighborhood of 15k-17k per door. And this welder is not the person doing the job. |
Mayor78:My oga, easy oooo I didn't want to quote your whole write up not to jam up space but take am easy oo..I have not had any business dealings with this guy and don't know him. But few points I want to address are, making 2k profit on the specific doors he was talking about.. this is not unusual in business.. I once worked for a fortune 500 company that have a product line that they make no money selling it but it is very popular with consumers, but they have hundreds of other products that they make boat load of profits from. The welder man here, does not only deal on that specific doors..I am pretty sure he does, like every other businesses out there have their bread and butter product lines. Second, dealing with different business. That's not unusual either. Personally I have a white collar job but I have sold t shirts, cars, tiles, ladies wears , umbrella, real estate. Etc. Neither were my full time job just i hear about a deal, if it sounds good to me , I will jump in , make the deal , take my cut and keep moving, I am no expert in my side business, so don't ask me which t shirt material is better or which car brand is more durable . I just look at the numbers, if the numbers are good, I am in If you have dealt with this guy or knew someone who have and the business went sour, kindly advise us here.. Thanks. |
At least he was honest with his age.. Lots of folks claim 19 every year when they are actually 32 yrs. ![]() |
EgunMogaji2:Are this build and sell or build and rent? |
It is not by renovation.. Nigerias biggest issue is maintenance! Can they maintain it... or embezzle the funds year after year?? |
spyder880:Oh my!! This is why landlords becomes stubborn after building their house, after going through this stress to erect a structure, the frustration turns them to tigers ![]() |
spyder880:Wow!! Prices are really climbing up indeed!!! |
Have anyone seen the before pictures? The picture of the conjoined twins prior to the operation. |
spyder880:Just curious, what's the budget for the fittings for the whole house.. labor plus materials? bathroom and kitchen fittings. |
Waste of money, no one is worth that much.. But I know for one though, Mancity will get their money's worth business wise... they will commercialize Messi like there's no tomorrow. That's the only way they could recoup but a deal like this does damage the morale in the dressing room. Imagine playing in the same team with a player that has €750m contract and your contract is only €10m ![]() |
If he is serious , he will introduce death sentence to any politician taking bribes or misusing public funds. |
twinskenny:Thanks |
Please what is the correct spelling of this brand of electrical wires/cables. Cometstar, commester, comister. Does anyone have a picture of the original packaging? |
