The key to a glee future is with the youths Not with those ancestors cum thieves The youths in Nigera are as bad as the leaders you all criticize. Just check out the comments on various threads on the forum and you will understand. |

ilynem: Ah. So who exactly makes these laws? Why is lying a bad thing? Is it because your parents told you it is? From history. The same history you look down upon. We learn from it. Historically, we know that stealing, lying, etc is bad so we teach future generations not to do it. I dont need a God to tell me what is right or wrong. Same reason Nigeria is not moving forward. It has been proven historically that jungle justice and giving/taking bribes does not work but you all accept it and continue to do it. See my point? |

ilynem: I keep pointing you to Christianity, you keep dragging me back to religion. Religion has caused more harm than good, I totally agree with you. But Christianity in its purest form is absolutely divine. Now you say its common sense for you not to lie, cheat, etc. May I ask you, who gave you this moral code? How was this common sense implanted in you? From good upbringing. The same upbringing i'm giving my kids. You see that? I am not a christian but i am teaching my kids not to be anti social and corrupt. They in turn will do the same when they grow up. You see how that works? |

richie9093: I said the Spanish Inquisition initially happened because of the Moslem invasion in Spain (look at the screenshot below). What you are saying now is as a resulting effect of the Inquisition and not why it happened in the first place.
On your second point, acknowledging history is one thing and trying to re-live it is another. In my previous post I never said we should abandon history. Trying to look back on the mistakes of history to justify the injustice being done in the present is not the right way to go. Acknowledge history but don't make the same mistake. Saying Christians did the same in the past and so moslems can be excused/allowed to do theirs now is the not the way to go.
On your third point, Christianity may have evolved to a religion of con artists and Hypocrites but at least these con artists aren't telling their followers to go out and kill people all in the name of one god that may or may not exist. I'll take the hypocritical ideologies of Christianity over the murderous Ideology of Islam any day and anytime.
Oh and for the record, I'm neither a Christian nor a Moslem. I'm just a man who wants us to live in peace and be tolerable of other people's choices I can as well quote a fact too; The Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition (Spanish: Tribunal del Santo Oficio de la Inquisición), commonly known as the Spanish Inquisition (Inquisición española), was established in 1478 by Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile. It was intended to maintain Catholic orthodoxy in their kingdoms and to replace the Medieval Inquisition, which was under Papal control. It became the most substantive of the three different manifestations of the wider Christian Inquisition along with the Roman Inquisition and Portuguese Inquisition. The "Spanish Inquisition" may be defined broadly, operating "in Spain and in all Spanish colonies and territories, which included the Canary Islands, the Spanish Netherlands, the Kingdom of Naples, and all Spanish possessions in North, Central, and South America." The Inquisition was originally intended primarily to ensure the orthodoxy of those who converted from Judaism and Islam. The regulation of the faith of the newly converted was intensified after the royal decrees issued in 1492 and 1502 ordering Jews and Muslims to convert or leave Spain.[1] The Inquisition was not definitively abolished until 1834, during the reign of Isabella II, after a period of declining influence in the preceding century. It is well known in history why the spanish inquisition happened. In fact it was part of my thesis in college. |

ilynem: And there you go. You pick one portion of the Bible and beat on it. The rainbow might be as a result of what you just posted (I am not a science person) but how does that stop that from being a sign of God's promise? You put a ring on a Lady as a sign of your love, does that change how the ring came about? Let me put this straight. A rainbow is as a result of meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky blah blah blah. But it is still a sign of God's promise to Noah. You do understand what a sign is right? And no. Left for people like me, we won't live in a cave. My Bible tells me to gain knowledge. Expects me to grow in wisdom. Christianity doesn't take you backward, it takes you forward. Still waiting for you to give me a teaching of Jesus or his apostles that doesn't agree with your moral standing. If you can't find one, then please point your gun at other religions. I don't have to be a christian to know that you should not commit murder, steal, covet someone else's wife, lie, etc. It is basic common sense. Religion has done more harm than good over the course of history and this is a fact. The hyporcricy in religion is astounding to say the least. |

It's your reasoning power I pity and not your entirety. It is a reasonable question. Where is the Niger Delta? This is the reason you all are not moving forward. What is normal in most countries is absolutely abnormal in Nigeria. And it's citizens have the nerve to blame it's leaders when their own thought process is flawed as hell. Smh. |

ilynem: I am glad you say "historically". I wonder why we have to keep pointing this out to you guys. Those people who have done bad things as Christians do not represent Christianity. Its simple. You want to judge a faith, judge it by its teachings not by the actions of people who claim to be in that faith. Take up a Bible. If you can fault any of the teachings of Jesus or his followers, then you can't fault Christianity. Unfortunately, same can't be said of the Koran. Guy, the teachings of the bible is based on ignorance. The bible tells you that a rainbow is a sign from God to remind him not to destroy the world again meanwhile we now know that is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. Because of it's teachings, Nigerians condemn anything that they do not understand. Left to people like you we would all still be living in caves. |

richie9093: The keyword being HISTORY; Are we living in history? Christianity has evolved since then to a more liberal religion. Same can't be said about Islam.
And for you to even mention the Spanish Inquisition shows that you know nothing about this history you speak of. Do you know what caused the Spanish Inquisition? Do you know why it happened? Don't worry, I'll give you a quick summary:
The Spanish Inquisition occurred because the Spaniards wanted to take their land and religion BACK from the Muslim INVADERS who had marauded their lands through Jihad. And the inquisition took years of Islamic purging.
I do agree with you that religion has to be eradicated. It has caused more harm than good. We should try to be more humanist than religious and you'll see how peaceful this world will become You need to re read your history on the spanish inquisiton. The spanish inquisition happened because they wanted to spread their understanding of christianity or are you trying to tell to me that britain was a muslim state when they tried to invade them? Plus, for everything we do we must reference history. I will digress a little by saying that this is the reason Nigerians are in bondage. They don't know their own history hence they keep making mistakes of the past. Now to get back on point. like you said, yes, christians have evolved. They evolved to a religion of con artists and hypocritical people who dwell on a belief based on ignorance |

DeRay98: Mr Atheist, God will not apologise to you for creating and sustaining your life. What men have done in the name of God doesn't soil His glory but is accounted them. Make you no purge belle because you no hear any name called God. God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance, that is getting smaller and smaller as time goes on. Do you know what that means? The bible tells you that a rainbow is a sign from God to remind him not to destroy the world again meanwhile we now know that is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. You get my point now? When something cannot be explained by an ignorant mind it is "God's doing". But know this, the things that can't be explained are getting smaller and smaller by the day. There is no God. What you all consider to be God are just questions that have not been answered yet. |

Familiarize yourself with history and you will find that Christians did worse things back in the day compared to what isis has done so far. #Spanishinquisition for example. Religion is a plague that needs to be eradicated. How a grown man or woman can believe in angels is just amazing to say the least. |

It takes the fair-minded to be able to stretch their thoughts, knowledge, and ideas past a self-constructed boundary that hinders them from seeing different aspects of a situation.
He's ever willing to accept and embrace, irrespective of who's involved.
