What war have they ever won ??

They were butchered in Vietnam and defeated

The Japanese showed them what savageness is by blowing up the Pearl harbor, what did the Americans do ?? Took their scary ass to their savior "the atomic bomb"
and could only destroy Hiroshima with it

They went to Afghanistan and were slaughtered by dudes who still live in caves

The went to Iraq and got defeated

They came to Somalia and got the nastiest disgrace in the history of American

The U.S army is just like the Nigerian Army, the killed Osama bin laden and Shekau without showing us the bodies

Now, they're claiming they kill an imaginary isis leader

Mind you, I'm a U.S army veteran from fort *****

You keep on contradicting yourself and giving credence to my stance. Here yourself:

''People were fed up of politicians which is why Trump and Bernie Sanders dominated both parties. They wanted an outsider''

This gives credence to my fact that ideology was not the main factor in voting for Trump,a non hardcore republican,a former democrat!

In essence ,ideology was not sacrosanct.

If Paul Ryan or GEJ or PMB,commit ''political suicide'' by cross carpeting, will they be the first to do so? But of course that would be big news and issue for me,because I consider them as hardcore.

I beg, enough of all these ideology craps.Non-hardcore or moderates, will continue to defect, whether in USA or Nigeria.

My worry remains the quality and pedigree of defections and defectors.
Apart from Trump give me some names of people who have defected to other parties and survived it. If to you it is a normal thing. If it was, you would hear of it on a normal basis like it does in Nigeria. I will bet my last dollar you can't. You seem not to understand that you don't live here and you can never understand the climate. Don't judge our system with the rubbish politics you are used to. It does not work in normal countries. The fact that you can change your ideology at will shows you as a politician do not hold any convictions in the first place and your motives should be questioned.

''Trump is not a politician.'' Hmm I hear you.

Perhaps you had forgotten that Trump passed through Republican primaries. So what government and the establishment are you talking about.

If ideology is so sacrosanct,a non hardcore ideological politician like Trump could not have won the republican primaries,at the detriment of those you regard as hardcore.Or are you suggesting that liberals that voted for Trump, are more than hardcore ideological republicans, then that supports my stance that ideology is dynamic and not sacrosanct!

Otherwise if hardcore are more than liberal democrats and a non hardcore like Trump could win the primaries, then what does that suggest?Ideology to the dustbin isn't?

The way you see Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, is the same way I see GEJ,Alex Ekweme,Tinubu,Buhari,Lai Mohammed,Fashola,Aregbesola,Oshiomole, etc,as politicians that would hardly cross carpet.

However in politics anything can happen, who says Paul Ryan or GEJ ,cannot cross carpet?

I do not think you understand politics, even american, more than me.
My first question to you is where do you live? Have you ever lived in the U.S for more than a year? How would you know the temperament of a society unless you have lived there. I already told you that Trump tapped into the mood of the republican grievances which is why he won. Unless you live in the U.S, you will never understand this. People were fed up of politicians which is why Trump and Bernie Sanders dominated both parties. They wanted an outsider. And like i said; unless you live in the U.S, you are just using google to butress your own opinions. Also, Paul Ryan cannot just decide that he want's to be a democrat today. It is political suicide. You are used to the rubbish way Nigerian politics is so you would not understand. Unlike Nigeria, American and most normal countries, vote based mostly on ideals and not the individual while in Nigeria it is other way around. Think about it, how has your system been working for you after half a century?

Do you know what i hate more than anything, people who do not live, have lived or understand a system will somehow claim to understand the system. Google cannot give you all answers you know. You have to live it to understand it. Obviously you did not understand nor read my response to your initial comment. Trump capitalized on the anger of the populace with government and establishment. This is widely known in America. And for you to ask who or what is the establishment points to the fact that you have no knowledge of American politics. Plus, i don't know where you are getting your facts from but liberals never voted for trump in the primaries; conservatives did. Democrats cannot vote in a republican primary. Smh. Also, He never won the election per se. He won the electoral votes and lost the popular votes so claiming that liberals voted for him in the general elections is false. Guy, stick with what you know. Oya, start googling. cool

There are a lot of republicans that do not believe in the rights to bear arms indiscriminately.Even Trump, the president of USA,was once a Democrat. This absolutely punctures your posture.

In England are you saying that conservatives do not believe in the rights and power of the average worker? story. And which party would I belong if I believe in the old school values(conservative) but believe in the rights and power of the average worker?Conservative Labour Party or Labour Conservative Party? undecided

What I am worried about, is the ''quality and pedigree''of defection and defectors..
You obviously do not understand politics in America or anywhere else for that matter. Nice of you to pick apart the points you think you understand but don't. Yes, not all republicans believe in the right to bear arms and the reason for this is because not all republicans/democrats are hardcore republicans/democrats. I for instance am a moderate democrat which means i lean a lot to the left but not all the way. Same applies with republicans. And, Trump is not a politician. He was an outsider who tapped into the anger and disappointment the citizens of America were feeling towards the government and the establishment. The concept of "for every rule there is an exception" applies to trump in this case. Are you trying to tell me that the real politicians in America like Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, etc can one day decide to switch parties all of a sudden and people will still look at them the same way? Every political system in the world is built on the same concept except in Nigeria and you all wonder why you have problems. Ok. Make una continue.

SillyMods:
Nigeria's politics is not good for nation building.
There should be a law prohibiting this cross-carpeting at will.
The cool thing about the jacked up way Nigerians do business is it is always a case study of how things should not be done. There is no ideology when it comes to the values and political leanings of the average Nigerian. Well, sort of. Their values is often dictated by money and who can provide it. When you go to England, their citizens either belong to the Labour party, because they believe in the rights and power of the average worker, the conservative party, because of their belief in the old school values, or the Liberal party, which believes in changing with the modern times. In the U.S, you have the Democrats, who are very liberal and believe so much in individual expression and personal freedom while you have the Republicans who prefer the old school christian values and the right to bear arms. In these countries, the way you think will determine which party you fall under. If you ask an average Nigerian which party he belongs to, he'll either tell you, PDP or APC. If you ask him why, he most likely will say it is the party that will see the country to Eldorado. If you then ask what values the party holds or stands for, you'll get the deer in a headlights look. They have no clue. No one knows the values or the political leanings of either parties. The only thing holding these politicians together in both parties is the quest for wealth which is why you have politicians "decamping" at will. In America, it is political suicide for a Republican to "decamp" to the democratic party and vice versa. That politician will never be trusted ever again. What Nigerians don't understand is, until we start to define the values that each political parties has or stands for in this country we will never move forward politically. We'll continue going round in circles. You cannot just support or join a party because of an individual. You have to know if the way you are thinking is the same way the person you are supporting, or party is thinking. Promises don't mean squat when both of you are not on the same page. I hope for Nigeria's sake it's citizens wake up from this mental slumber they all seem to be in since independence.

Lol you're barking up the wrong tree here. I know (not just mere belief) God. I know him very well. I have a relationship with him. I as a Christian, do not believe that Christianity negates science or vice versa. If I start explaining it'll take all day so go and tell someone else this long story. I pray that God will renew your mind, turn your stony heart to flesh and open your eyes to see the truth someday before it's too late just like he did to Saul. God bless you
Funny. If i ask you why you think there is a God i'm sure you'll come up with "the miracles in my life" and how happy you are. Meanwhile as an aethist i am happy as phuck. I am a law abiding citizen, successful, and can pretty much discern right from wrong. The only reason religion exist is fear and for poor countries, poverty. They exist. If you are spiritually minded and born again, you will know beyond any reasonable doubt that God (the father, Son and the holy spirit) exist and are definitely not fiction. So this question is pointless. How about we flip this question and ask Atheists: "when you witness the rapture and realise that God is real, what would you do?"
God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance, that is getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time goes on. Do you know what that means? The bible tells you that a rainbow is a sign from God to remind him not to destroy the world again meanwhile we now know that is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. You get my point now? When something cannot be explained by an ignorant mind it is "God's doing". But know this, the things that can't be explained are getting smaller and smaller by the day. There is no God. What you all consider to be God are just questions that have not been answered yet.

Bro, it's not about the pastor, it's the the system.
No. 2, many people go to church and think they are real believers but fact is they are not. I don't know who you are but if I should guess I think even you are not a real believer. Why?? Cos there must be some sin(s) you intentionally commit but go to church on Sunday so as to justify and make your self think you are better than non believers. Most xtians are in this category, well, I may be wrong about u though. But trust me 90% Christians are like that.
So what's the point of going to church if u are not holy like the scripture said: "be christ like"
Most people go to church because they are lazy and do not like to take responsibility for decisions and actions they have taken. They constantly want someone else to come bail them out. If you really want to be successful in life, don't go to church.

Nigerians are the most s.tupid people on earth. They have everything any country would war with other nations to have. If this were the dark ages, Nigeria would have been invaded for it's resources many times over. Of all it's resources, the most important is it's human resource. It's diversity. Not to talk of it's population. America does not do the DV lottery out of the goodness of it's heart. They understand the importance of diversity and math. They know that at least half of the people they let in will do something incredible one day to make their country better, #Einstein, and they all will definitely get jobs and pay taxes. Taxes ladies and gentlemen. A concept that Nigeria and Nigerians are still grappling with. Nigerians are still stuck with where a person comes from instead joining hands together to unphuck the country they have phucked up. Why do these people think like this?
