Social media is not supposed to take our senses.
She is a mirror image of 90% of Nigerians. She is praying. Why is she praying? In normal societies, they don't pray before voting. The track record of the candidates will determine who they vote for. Nigerians are busy praying when they should at work trying to fix the problems they created for themselves. I wonder how people think. No God will help Nigeria because their wound is self inflicted. |

success1smyn: that is the job of the govt but this is an incentive to motivate people to be clean, the story of the donkey pulling a cart with carrot in its front comes to mind. You obviously did not comprehend my post. In a country where the sanitary unit does not function where are they going to dump the refuse? Any available funds should be used to shore up the sanitation unit so people don't dump refuse everywhere. All you doing is delaying the inevitable. |

May be u don't know that, for decades, those hausas in government, has been giving their sons & daughters money, in other for them to agree to go to school. I understand your point, but for now, nigeria does not have d kind of leaders that will change d chain. I can't believe you just said that. Isn't it normal to normalize an abnormality? How do you get better when everything you do is abnormal. Smh. |

gbesky: Very good initiative!!! prodigy97: Nice idea from arole o'odua It makes absolutely no sense. Here's why. We all know that waste disposal does not function in Nigeria. So, to win, all i have to do is clean up my street and go dump it in another street. The 100k can be used to maintain and improve their waste disposal system instead of "wasting" it on this useless venture. In normal societies, there are no rewards for keeping your surroundings clean. Only punishment if you don't. In Germany, the fines you will receive will make you think twice about littering or dumping trash anyhow and anywhere you like. They fine you because you have no excuse for dumping anywhere but the trash cans and bins they have provided for you. Nigerians, please wake up and get with the program. |

drss2: buari score card in 1 year: 1. first class degree in cluelessness. 2. plagiarism reloaded. 3. economic recession back to back. 4. high rate of suicide. 5. pariah country for investors. 6. rising cost of living. 7. no direction. 8. phd in blaming philosophy. nigeria gone from d most prefered destination for investors in africa to economic junk just 1 year under buari wat an achievement. dis is wat happens quota disciples ar voted in to implement outdated daura economic policies. am not surprised at wat is happening at all. It is not Buhari's scorecard. It is every leader in Nigeria's history's scorecard. When has it ever been different? Well, that's not true. It is different now because it is worse. And it's going to get much worse. Even if you vote in another leader. You can't expect half a century of corruption and mismanagement not to come to it's fruition. Worse still is the citizens blame leaders forgetting that these leaders are a product of bad citizenry. You can't have bad citizens and expect good leaders to come from them. It is just not possible. You guys had better buckle up and get ready. |

Nigerians and oil matter. It has made the whole country lose it's faculties. Oil does not mean shiit if you don't have the mental or moral capacity to manage it. Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, to name a few, don't have it but their economy is strong. How is this possible? Because they understand that the human resource is the most powerful resource of them all. Even if gold starts to fall from the sky in only Nigeria, Nigerians will still be poor because they can't manage anything and are morally bankrupt. The sooner you all begin to understand this concept, the better for you. |

Politics › Re: Army Wants ATM For Frontline Soldiers In Maiduguri by banmee(m): 3:15am On Sep 19, 2016 |
Opharhe: OK. Well the summary of the matter is, this request by our soldiers is not out of place. They really should be provided with the ATMs. They should. But that is not the issue. Every law abiding citizen must queue and wait their turn at every public facility. Just because the army leadership cannot do their jobs does not mean soldiers can push average citizens around. With that kind of behavior, what is the difference between them and a vigilante thug? Last i checked, it is the average citizens taxes that pays their salary. Where i'm from, you do that, expect UCMJ the next day. |
Politics › Re: Army Wants ATM For Frontline Soldiers In Maiduguri by banmee(m): 10:47pm On Sep 18, 2016 |
Opharhe: Yeah I believe in an egalitarian society but you'll agree with me the soldiers are in a special situation hence require some forms of special treatment. It's very difficult for those guys. Put yourself in their shoes to understand better. I put myself in their shoes everyday. Their job is to protect. In fact, they should be helping civilians go through as quickly as possible. The problem is the army leadership. They don't care about their soldiers. |

Babzilla: If Im goong to write about corruption space no go dey. To fight corruption you need to understand the true nature of its origins. Fighting corruption goes beyond just arresting people in positions of authority who looted. How do we move from being afraid to be arrested to actually sitting down to do the right thing. I have worked in several organizations and honestly we have a long way to go.. we necer even start. No matter how you put laws and penalties to dissuade us from stealing we always try to find a way to beat tye system refusing to work, and stealing among otuer fraidulent activities....and whenthey do others hail them as being smart these are people who are not in authority who are being monitored... imagine such an individual niw given a position with minimal supervision that person cant work.
The truth is there is very very few Nigerians who you will put in any posotion of authority who wont steal or participate in acts of corruption. Its in our culture. If you dont loot the same Nigerians will call you mumu. To fight this it starts with everyone trying to do his /her best.. which brings the "change begins with me" concept which is cool but how many people acknowledge their part i making this country the way it is? Everyone will claim he is innocent and point fingers in our usual fashion. Nigerians believetrue change starts from the top but the reality is it starts from the bottom. You are arguing with zikter? Don't bother. He can't see the truth or the obvious even if it is sitting on his head. |

onedayatime: banmee you fit argue o. You know what Banmee, give yourself a break and see if you go get point(s) and come back come fight your case but as at now no point.
But I wonder o Banmee, if you can hardly make point on social platform like this where you have all the time in this world to think deeply and couple(just like machines) your facts together, how they are you going to fair when you are in the real world where you will hardly have time?? Explain to me which points i don't have? That as a owner of a vehicle, or even a passenger you don't give bribes to policemen? Answer that, if you can. The reason you don't see a problem with it is because you have been doing it for so long it has become as normal as breathing. Why wouldn't you think this way? |
Politics › Re: Patience Jonathan Faces Fresh Probe Over N5b Abuja Hotel by banmee(m): 10:09pm On Sep 18, 2016 |
onedayatime: to me Zikter is the winner, Banmee, you have been unable to prove your case before Nairalanders. I agree. I lost. There is no way i can win against corrupt minds who will never accept who they are. Even if i brought video evidence, you still refuse to accept who you are. A thing that you all do but won't accept, how do i win against that. To most Nigerians, giving a policeman bribe is not considered corruption. It is business as usual. And you want to be a better country. Your mentality is the way to be one. Continue. |

nextprince: Pls have u ever seen a military man queuing behind civilians at the atm anywhere in the world? These are the people going for days without bathing, eating, drinking and away from their loved ones and in some cases pay the supreme price so that u can sit comfortably and type this trash. It is just some underdeveloped countries like ours that citizens will want a military man, whose life is more at risk if gunmen decide to strike, to join queue with them. Let me tell u, military personnel enjoy privileges all over the world. People will just sit down and post what they like just on assumption not as if they have ever been to even Cameroun here. I have done it and still do. It is only because Nigerians are usd to lawlessness that you think what they are doing is OK. |
