Yes, we don't. The good Lord designed them, ERitrea, Kenyas and Ugandans to be able to do such things. We have our own giftings...Football, Table Tennis and Boxing

So long as East Africans participate in this marathon, No Nigerian will ever win it.

Nigerians are not as strong as they think. Our dieting, climate and lifestyle means it's almost impossible to win a Martahon against good athletes from East Africa.

East Africans know it's free $$$$ whenever they enter for this competition.

I'm expecting the same Kenyans and Ethiopians to win the men's category. At least 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Bro, God designed us differently. We too have a comparative advantage in football and in boxing and in table tennis.

People are structured differently yo have different talents. This is their own. Congrats to them

UjuJoan2:

Divorce is another issue . . .

I mean your colleague's husband married her didn't he? Despite her so-called character? I bet he saw some better behaved girls but put beauty first in the beginning.

He had to learn the hard way didn't he?

Most men will marry first and complain later!

Men are more inclined to tolerate a woman if she were beautiful. That is a simple fact.

But this wasn't the crux of your argument. Why shifting the goal post? What I read from your argument was that men are visual creatures and would want a woman/women for their beauty, no matter what.. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting you.

I will repeat that beauty is special to the struggling guy, on average. As soon as a guy starts making it, even if it's small small, beauty will/may still be a criterion, but other things must enter

arrestdarrester:

Permit me to say this is as flawed as it is misleading. Fact is, the beauty of a woman will attract a man. But same will not keep him with you. Reason is, beauty is found everywhere.

Beauty is very common nowadays and very 'affordable' for those who make it up. You can make it up under an hour. On the other hand Character is scarce and very expensive. You can't make it up in a year except you learn a bitter lesson.

I have a Divorcee in my office who confides in me. I feel for her sometimes. But having worked with her long enough, I know what her problem is. She proved me right when she described who her erstwhile spouse is now hooked up with.

Don't be deceived, you can spend all the time on your appearance but once the values the man holds dear in a marriage begins to be abandoned by you, no amount of make up or make over can change it Ooo.

I'm forced to respond. I like your points bro and even had this same convo with a friend a few minutes ago.

I told him that the young and fine sisters shouldn't think too highly of themselves because they are beautiful because that beauty will diminish.

I so much agree with you that beauty is very common, can be found in any shape and size. The same cannot be said of a genuinely decent attitude. Beauty is mostly special to struggling guys..For at least averagely successful guys, beauty can be easily gotten, in different shapes and sizes...My conclusion with my friend is that the fear of God is the most important thing..

LOL. He is old, but not that old. I've since learnt that people of that generation (especially if they are illiterate) are usually bad at keeping record of their years. I know one old woman who swore she was over 160. We asked her how old she was when she gave birth to her daughter who was in her 60s at the time, and she said, "Around 70 or so."

You gave birth at 70. As Sarah or as Elizabeth that you are.

I still had a chat with Femi yesterday night; the only reason people think he is the younger one is that he is gentler. Also, Tobi graduated before Femi because while Tobi studied a 4-year course, Femi studied a 5-year course. If he blew his trumpet the way Tobi does, we all would know him.

How many people here know that Femi is the CEO of KraksTV? How many people here know he has an MSc. from a very reputable institution in the UK? But because the guy is so low key, bloggers have resorted to calling him the younger one! He even joked that now that Tobi is in BBN, he don cast.

For those who would like to check him out, follow the link below. I do not doubt Tobi's age in any form because I have in fact seen Femi's D.O.B on a number of occasions. But trust bloggers and fake news...

I just checked your guy's profile. He is indeed impressive. He is a fellow akokite. Bravo!!

God said though Jeremiah: v29 At that time, the people will not say: 'The fathers have eaten sour *grapes. And the children have received the sour taste.’ v30 Instead, everyone will die because of his own *sin. Whoever eats sour *grapes will receive the sour taste. v31 'The time is coming’, declares the *LORD, 'when I will make a new *covenant. I will make it with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. v32 It will not be like the *covenant that I made with their *ancestors

Do you know what time verse 29&31 was talking about? it was the moment the Son of man was lifted up with men's sins crucified.

You seem like a religious man but your retribution doesn't move God's heart concerning his new covenant. When Christ Jesus died, he bore all the sins of Freeze's children and Freeze himself. That's the bitter truth

Thank you for the first paragraph which I am more interested in. The same is implied in the book of Ezekiel. The bible implies clearly that the sins of an unrighteous father will not plaque the children, provided they are righteous.

No, sins of the father do not usually continue with the children. It depends on the kind of life led by the children.

For those interested, we are now in need of a capable biology teacher to teach JAMB and prepare a student to score above 95% in UME and A1 in WAEC. Work to begin in a few weeks from now.

The candidate must reside in Ipaja area otherwise the pay we are offering won't cut it. No need applying if you live far away and have to spend more than 300 naira on transportation

For the right candidate, starting salary is between 1,000 - 1,200 per hour. 2 hours per day and twice a week. As has been said, there is a performance related bonus which is at least 3 times the starting salary. The bonus is paid when the target grades are achieved.

Interview date is this Saturday. Send in your CV or ask your friends that are qualified to send in their CVs.
More info - For a teacher who achieves the two listed targets, there is a possibility of getting a fully paid tuition support to do a master's at a Nigerian federal or state university of your choice. If you already have a master's, your full-time tuition fees as at the time of the master's will be given back to you subject to providing appropriate proofs.

Marry is not the destination, it's where the journey starts. Can we afford to get married and stay married without conflicts? Hence, balance is the key, proposing too early isn't good, both parties need to build and establish the relationship carefully if they have different orientation. If they have similar orientation, then it makes it easier.

Bo, this sounds reasonable. What is your age now?

I couldn't agree less! I thought I was the only one who experienced such thing in school. At a point, I even thought I was arrogant to have thought my lecturers were not having enough IQ to make sense from my works.

This is Nigeria where most of our lecturers want one-size-fits-all answers to questions.

You guys keep making a very sweeping generalization and I am just forced to respond.

The Nigeria I went to school, the lecturers that taught me wanted to hear my ideas and see me add to what they taught me. I'm not sure of the Nigerian schools some of you attended or the time you attended these schools.

What's wrong with public school when someone does not have the money to afford a private school?

If I had my way, my kids will never attend private schools. There are many ways to give a child a solid foundation than attending a private school, worse of all an expensive one at that. If it is the networking and class that people pay for to send their children to private schools, then I can understand..But if it is a solid educational foundation, this can be gotten more cheaply...

Little did they know that most of our lecturers and professors have below average IQ to follow up with students with a higher IQ, the results is a flop in their result, when they can't see the angle you are reasoning from instead for them to fine tune your ideas they tell you to shut up and sit down.

You are very wrong. My naija lecturers are not included in this your generalization..Whatever many students will be, many of our lecturers were these things in their days. I agree that some are disappointing, but to say most is pushing it. What is your age?

My bro, Mark is a short, ugly, muscle-less dude.

Yes, I will concede he has less visible muscle mass, but ugly and short, no oo. The guy is like my height, 5:9, and that is average, not especially short. Ugly, no now. He doesn't look bad.

But I get your gist. Once you are accomplished in other areas, physical attributes most often count for less..But lifting and keeping fit is not about looking nice alone, it is very healthful.

Take me for example. Before I started lifting, my pulse rate (resting heart rate) used to be around 100 and BP higher than the minimum but not too high. After I started lifting, not only did my physique change small, my BP went to the minimum possible level, sometimes even below.

While we all want to do our best and be accomplished in what we do, six pack, fit body and the likes are also an icing on the cake and will only have positive effects on our bodies and general well being. Afterall, the Holy Bible makes it clear that exercise profiteth a little..Not just little oo, a little.

In fact, I just came back from the gym myself. I must to improve my health and do all I can to maintain my physique, especially stomach because, for most of us guys, it is the stomach that first gets messy if not well taken care of.

So yes, let's do our best to be successful in what we do, but let us not ignore things that will improve our overall health and physique..This doesn't mean one is doing all these for the opposite sex, never!

Lol, the average height group or the just-above-short group, to which many or most of us belong, is seen as a disadvantage by our girls, lol. Our sisters don't like that group...LOL. But in all fairness, this seems universal. It's a preference that many ladies have. They may overlook this if it is well made up for in other areas.

Unfortunately, many women, and even we men too, can be shallow. Me sef dey guilty, I won't lie. We base our judgments sometimes on physical attributes. This is mostly driven by a quest to show off what you have got so that people can say wow, you carry eyes go market. Lol. What happens to other much more important traits and characters that have nothing to do with physicality? Dependability is a trait that I find many people do not have. But some will say ' who send',lol. Provided I can show off my guy and people will hail me, who go know say he no dependable.

Haha. Wait till your beauty fades in 10 years and he starts looking elsewhere for a version of you 15 years ago. If I had a daughter or younger sister, one of the most important traits I would ask them to look for in a potential mate, apart of being truly God-fearing and having a genuine source of livelihood, is dependability. With a dependable man, a lot can be achieved. Of course, having a fit guy with all the flat abs, defined chest and generally very fit bicep and tricep, is a plus..But these physical attributes cannot and should not be a deal breaker. Unfortunately, in many instances, it can be.

My very close friend still tries to yab me with this height thing. Anyway sha, confidence is important in all things.

See the way I'm writing this story story as if I don't have some more important to do. haha

If no, PM me. We can meet, put things together, and if your grades are good, you can get a PhD position plus some scholarships plus a 5-year student visa. That would give you enough time to think ahead..The downside here is that you will be on student status, meaning that you can't work full hours..

PM me if my suggestions sound good to you. Deadline for admissions is near. We can find an average or below average school that will take you, hopefully, they will accept an MBA.
