Finally. We get to see the president's desk. Is that the office proper or his study? |
^ The insults aside, these debates have been fun. Its interesting seeing the passion people have for their mobile phones and some of us have learnt a little about how these smartphones work. The phones section is now the new romance . Maybe we'll all go back to discussing ![]() |
Sam Milla: This oyibo should allow us to rest. They are releasing new models of everything everyday. How do they expect us to sell our old phones and buy new ones when they release new ones every day. They should be regulations on when each company can release new products.Says the poor man ![]() |
Aba is like a big toilet. Disgusting ![]() |
So when will it be available for Nigerian iPhone users? ![]() |
What he said: "Lets work together." What it really means: "Lets tell the world that we work together so that I can share in the praise that comes from the progress in Lagos." *troll face* ![]() |
Will be watching this space for when the Lumia 920 becomes available. |
engrhamid: MODEL: I9100 Samsung galaxy s2This one get as e be. Ice Cream Sandwish ![]() |
soft-touch:For wetin? iPhone 5? When iPhone 6 comes later then wetin we go do? World War 3? ![]() |

What are these 200+ iOS 6 features abeg. ![]() |
I'm shocked that Soft-touch will make a remark like that. This thread use be a place to discuss iPhone apps, the good and the bad, amongst level-headed people. Now you want to reduce it to a worship ground for the iPhone?! The iPhone is a great phone no doubt but to assume that everyone here believes it to be the truth or the best thing since baked beans is not only wrong, it's delusional. Not everyone is sold on the iPhone hype. |
You state it correctly. The Wii U may be a huge hit. Or may not. I think that as with other Nintendo releases it will be successful in Japan. Outside the shores of that country, not so sure. |
@ Coogar Any need for the insults? ![]() And pray tell, what is so special about iMessage that makes it more than an instant message service? |
.
|
coogar: 4llerbuntu's sarcasm seems to fly over your head - you need to lighten up, if anything - he's a fandroid dude like yourself!Perhaps you missed the emoticons at the top of that post. No way I take any of this too seriously. . . and the last thing I am is a fanboy. ![]() PS: I use an iPhone 4, go figure. |
![]() I use iMessage all the time. Nothing out of this world about it. And why would a chic be tripping for iMessage, how else did she receive it other than on her iDevice? Anyways as I commented earlier, Panoroma, Facetime, Airplay and free OS Updates Annually (seriously?), those are things that will generate little or no interest from non Apple users. I think the second ad(the iPhone 5) posted above didn't come from Apple,it looks fake. It all doesn't seem to matter though, the I5 is breaking sales records already. http://cellular-news.com/story/56433.php |
I love my gender but I'd prefer not to come back to this world after my time here is done. ![]() |
Let the war continue |
^ ![]() Seriously only Apple fans will be thrilled by the likes of iCloud, Facetime and iMessage(a BBM knock off btw). The other features like Panorama haven't got the buzz to get non Apple users interested. |
Da-unashamed:It allows for more room for other components of the phone because of its reduced size. |
hammedkola: This is Africa!!, we can decide what we want alsoSee this one. What does Africa or any continent have to do with the topic. The fact remains that a telecoms standardization organization has given the nano-sim the necessary approval as an industry recognized format/standard. |
walcolm: take permission from who?The nano-sim has since been approved as a standard by the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standard Institute). http://www.theverge.com/2012/6/1/3056638/etsi-nano-sim-format-approved. I don't think any licensing is involved, it is not a patent so anybody can use it. |
Correction on my part: the i5 does have the higher specs display-wise when compared to the S3. (I5=326ppi > S3=306ppi) Either way I'm still doubtful that the 20ppi will account for a significant difference between the phones. |
coogar: 326 pixel per inch in comparison to 306? the difference would be like comparing high definition to standard definition. if you now put apple's fluid retina display into the equation then it's a no brainer. iphone 5's display is so much better. emphasis on "so much"!Now you actually believe the hype. Typical fanboy behavior. Let the phone ship first and then we'll see about your claim that its like comparing SD to HD. On paper S3 has a better display, in real life ,I think we won't be able to tell the difference. |
azpekuliar: Una no wan answer me ni...?I don't know about BSM performance on the iphone but what I do know is that MTN has had rather crappy service lately. Virtually all my network apps aren't working! From Viber to whatsapp to Instagram - all down. |
^ You say that like you've actually compared the 2 displays physically and noticed significant differences. I'm willing to bet that whatever differences there are will be marginal if not tipped in favor towards the S3. |
It's business, nothing new there. Pepsi used to, and still does make ads that claim their product is better than Coca Cola's. Just like Oracle vs IBM ads or even the Mac/Pc ads. |
All these Over The Top (OTT) services like whatsapp, Viber Skype, etc are the new challenge that network carriers have to deal with. Even revenue from phone calls are affected too, not just SMS. Phone users will easily choose these services instead of the traditional ones because of convenience and cost so it lies with the carriers to find out ways to get in on the action. Right now I don't think the carriers in Nigeria are worried much, there are still many users here that rely solely on SMS but in the future, just like in countries with mature markets, the carriers will have to re work their business models |
^What's wrong with the Samsung ad? They've nothing wrong, they just stated the facts. Apple can get blue in the face for all they care. |
^ Perhaps people are just being polite ![]() |
@Soft-touch Nah I checked GSMarena myself and I think there is something funny going on,see for yourself. http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9300_galaxy_s_iii-4238.php Either we are looking at some phony site(pun intended )or the wrong phones OR gsmarena have got their , err, apples in a bunch. I don't think 4ller faked anything.Perhaps knowledgeable folks can explain it to us. |
