One can get it overseas but that would be too much of a hassle |
Nokia should shut up and take my money ![]() All I want to know now is how much this is going to sell for in 9ja? |
DeJeffo: Call Of Duty; Black ops on PS3!!! Maad Game!!!For a second I thought this guy was referring to BO II and I was about to call him the biggest liar on the face of the earth. ![]() |
Custard. For no good reason. |
Khayordhe: [size=20pt]Hw can we b suffering 4 wot we gat in abundance.....Will it kill you to spell words properly? |
Black Ops II launches tomorrow the 13th. It's time for me to make my annual contributions to Activision's profit. ![]() |
Sisi_Kill: Now we know for sure it was Steve Jobs who kept Apple together.Squirming? He very likely instilled this character in Apple, he was the one who threatened to go thermonuclear on anyone who "stole" their ideas. |
This is what happens when lawyers are allowed to set corporate strategy for an engineering company. |
Another feature of such companies, when they call for licensing, is that they push for licensing fees that are way excessive or exorbitant. |
Lord_Reed: It is hard to believe that that's their strategy because legal matters are not exactly guaranteed to go a certain way while on the other hand a straight out sales pitch for the patent would be more productive and come with less hassle and cost ie high legal fees. You think? An individual case often begins with a perfunctory infringement complaint, or even a mere threat of suit, which is often enough to encourage settlement for the nuisance or "threat value" of the suit by purchasing a license to the patent. - Wikipedia VirnetX admitted in court that they made $36,000 so far from their business in 2012. Now they have been awarded damages payment in the tune of $368 million. Certainly going to court was the more profitable path for them. And they aren't done yet - they are fighting for a ban on iPad and iPhones and Macs. They had acquired the patent (on VPNS) for which they sued Apple back in 2002, did nothing with it since then. Other companies had developed their own technology for the same thing, Apple did and tried to patent it in 2008 but found out that VirnetX already had the patent. . . It's not hard to see why companies decide to go the trolling path. |
That's being opportunistic. Companies that are patent trolls usually don't have any plans to bring their patents to the marketplace where they will face competition, they intend to profit only from the infringement lawsuits that they'll initiate. It's a simple yet sly strategy that stifles innovation in the process. They acquire as many patents as they can then sit on them till an alleged infringement takes place. The process of acquiring patents for themselves isn't always from their own efforts at innovation but sometimes from outright buyouts from startups and individuals. |
Schadenfreude - Pleasure arising from the misfortune of others. ![]() That's probably what many people will feel when they read about this. The point many will miss is that companies like VirnetX are straight out patent trolls!! They position themselves to exploit the American patent laws to their profit, that's their main strategy for generating income. They sue anyone alleged to infringe on patents they hold meanwhile they have no intentions to market or manufacture the patented inventions. It is understandable that many people will feel little sympathy for Apple since they have done something similar in the recent past but ultimately the patent laws in the US - and just about every other country in the world - needs to be fixed! |
2pence: My Dear stop misinforming people ,Marriage counselling is very important for intending marriage couples,it helps shape them to have an idea of what marriage is ,to prepare them cos marriage is a vocation, its a calling and its not everyone that's called for it and people must know this and be aware so as not get into mistakes that will bring annulment/divorce My dear I suggest you take that class before venturing into marriage,"not a must ooo" but iam just suggesting There is nothing we will not hear; Marriage is now a calling? Who does the calling? Do you know what a calling means, really? |
This is old news. |
The position of some people is clear; their religious leaders must be defended even at the cost of truth and logic. Why do you guys bother, let each one trod the path he chooses. |
Pat Robertson who claimed that the rapture will happen in his lifetime. We shall see about that. He also told a man to divorce his wife because she had Alzeimers. Old man, probably means well but deeply misguided. Certainly not a prophet. |
Saw somewhere that the Lumia 920 will be selling for about $450 ~ N72K I wonder how much retailers in Nigeria will be selling it for after they've factored in their shipping costs. Still it shouldn't cross the 100K mark from the looks of things. Abi? |

Modernization is such a vague term. I just hope they are not using this term to refer to the handing over of a great deal of their network services to ZTE |
Lol More than half of the people who are commenting here have no understanding of the topic, many imagine that it is the usual attack BB thread. |
vascey: Funny I was just looking this up online. I hope their new product will break the monopoly of Multichoice. How will free satellite TV break Multichoice's paid TV? Reread the OP again. |
Disgraceful conduct for a news-house. Big shame. |
The drift of your argument is noted, but my question remains unanswered, how does making BBM available on other OSs really help RIM. Already as has been noted, consumers are leaving BB in droves despite BBM. They don't seem to miss it when there are other FREE alternatives like Whatsapp. Should RIM make BBM free and available on all other platforms? And if they do so how will this help? I don't see a workable business model if they take this path. |
Why should you be bothered about what people think of your pastime? Such concerns should be tossed away instantly, everyone in this life is free to spend their time however they deem fit as long as no one is hurt in the process. Just for the record, statistics released by the Entertainment Software Association in the US puts the average age of the game player at 30 years, while the average age of the most frequent game purchaser is 35 years old.(http://www.theesa.com/facts/index.asp) Enjoy your gaming. |
KazeKage1: I haven't really given JB much thought to be honest..as i still enjoy the intense experience of playing online neither have i thought about upgrading to 4(if available). How do you play online without upgrading? Every time a new system update becomes available I am prompted to update. Ditto for game updates, if I don't no online gaming. Is there really a walk around for this? |
If BBM went cross platform then that would have been the nail in the coffin for RIM. I doubt any amount of mindshare would keep RIM afloat if they lost the exclusivity to their most prized feature. And I'm curious to see how they would keep the feature profitable, the current BBM is paid for by users every month, yes? How would that fare with a free Whatsapp, Viber and other Over The Top(OTT) services? What RIM needs to do is bring their OS up to par with the likes of Android and iOS - well, we'll see how BB10 performs - to get back in the game not give away its golden egg. |
Onavo Extend and Onavo Count The first app above helps to maximize usage of your current 3G data plan while the later (Count) shows how individual apps use up data on your iphone. I already installed them from the AppStore - its free - and have started enjoying them. Give it a try ifans. |
^ The hell are you talking about? So according to you the remodelling work going on in the airports should be condemned? Many people are just critics for no good reason. |
Dee60: There were no such complaints when MMA2 was opened. Reasons: It was done by the private sector and that is what should be happening to airports now 2/The design, construction and finishing was very good, not just a product of panel beating 3/ It was commissioned new and it wasn't a case of doing fanfare after close to a billion (or even more) was spend panel beating an airport.Panel beat an airport? Talking about mixed metaphors indeed. ![]() |
^^ And its a windows phone 8 device!!! |
pawa4ul: BIG SHAME ON RIVERS STATE. I HOPE THE ONE ONE THAT CALLS HIMSELF THE CHAIRMAN OF GOVERNORS FORUM WILL SEE THIS. THIS AIRPORT IS NOT INTERNATIONAL YET LOOKS THIS FINE. THE SO CALLED BUS TERMINAL WE CALL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN PORT HARCOURT IS NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. I FLEW INTO PH TWO WEEKS AGO AND ALMOST VOMITED WHEN I WANTED TO USE THE REST ROOM. THAT PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN UNTIL THEY MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A LOCAL AIRPORT AT LEAST.Port Harcourt International airport is currently being rennovated. Didn't you notice? |
When something good is done then commendations are in order. Yet incurable naysayers must leave their mark of pessimism here. . .they will do well to shut up. More grease to government's elbow for these developments |
