What remains now is to see how fast the iPhone 5 and new iPods sell (which they will). If they make history or close to it, then I think Tim Cook has done well.

The fact is that the iPhone 5 hasn't got much of a wow factor. Off course it is expected that the phone will sell very well but I think that's because Apple is riding on the waves of its past success, eventually, if they don't get back to making innovative phones, the wave will die out. . . Yeah the processor is faster and the display better but I tell you its only about 1% of geeks that actually care about those things in real life - and like was said earlier the improvements aren't out of this world when compared to its predecessors or other competing smartphones out there.

ogugua88: For you, the differences are a bigger screen, an upgrade from the A4 chip to the A6, nano sim, siri, 8MP camera rather than your 5, better video, better recording, better battery. Plus better headphones.

Those differences are mere increments on the iPhone 4S features and they are a disappointment from a company that is known for innovative products.

the last time i was surprised at what Apple released was wen they launched 3GS.since then, I have always had an idea of what will be released before the launch date. and u know what? they always make their profit . if u think Apple will just bring out revolutionary or evolutionary (or all those big big grammer nary wey i don dey hear since january) iphones so dat samsung will just photocopy them and not pay, u must be on a long thing.....

Yes the new iPhone 5 will sell like hot cakes but you also have to admit that Apple is losing its edge. With other companies coming up with phones that easily rival the iPhone(*cough* Lumia 920,*cough) if not beating it, then we can surely say that days of Apple as leader of the smartphone race are behind us.

Well these improvements can be found in other leading smartphones. It is safe to say that the competition has caught up with Apple.

Same width but taller? Even though this confirms the rumors I don't think I'm thrilled with this form factor. I suspected a bigger screen was in the works but did the width still have to remain unchanged. This makes it the tall iPhone.

Well maybe it will grow on me. . .maybe

Its official the new iPhone 5 has a 4" 326ppi Retina display, 1136 x 640 resolution. Same width, but taller.

1forall: iphone releases now appear overhyped, and to have lost their novel value. Are they gonna go on this same publicity drive next year when they want to release the next iphone?

Apple needs to create another strategy as this one is overused and wearing out. The smartphone market is no longer a one horse race considering the competition from the Android OS and other hardware manufacturers.

Why would Apple want to change a strategy that has be proven to be successful? This strategy only appears overused to non Apple fans.

The population of Abuja isn't that much, check the last population census in Nigeria... Google is your friend..

The population figures for Abuja were from the 2006 census, thats 6 years ago!

I don't have the links to the this yet but sometime ago the FCT minister was said to have given the present population(based on projections) to be somewhere around 5 million. Besides anyone living in Abuja will find those early figures laughable.

Nano SIM no dey naija yet, and i'll be damned if i start cutting down my microsim to fit and render it incompatible with all other devices.

I doubt that the nano sim will implemented in the iPhone 5. Apple recently just applied for standard to be adopted. . . but then again given Apple's ways, you never know.

Anyways we'll all find out this evening.

Lagos is expensive, crowded, and almost inhabitable as it is - yet everyone and their mum stay moving there in their millions... If something isn't done, 50% of Nigeria will end up trying to live in the place... What's in Lagos, anyway??

Some of the other cities already have 'similar' status, but it seems people are just stuck in Lagos - maybe they need to change the name... Abuja is the capital, yet no one wants to live there.

I wouldn't exactly say no one wants to live in Abuja, that's another city that is witnessing a sharp increase in population and if things aren't handled properly there it may end up like Lagos.

Before the population of Lagos sees any reduction other cities and states have to be attractive enough to keep their indigenes from relocating. It is because of all the opportunities that Lagos holds that people keep flocking there.
