NYSCRe: NYSC Member, Ime Anwana Builds 40-bed Hostel In Niger State School by Bawss1(m): 10:01pm On Apr 10, 2012
This one has secured her place among the recipients of this year's NYSC national awards and will most likely clinch a job in the federal civil service. Going for a masters degree or even a Ph.D should pose little problems as recipients of this award are also offered government scholarship. . .Such is the nature of this not well known award, she shouldn't worry about her future.

Ada George and NTA road are now wearing a brand new look, though not yet completed, the road projects in one of the best thing that could ever happen to PH. Those guys are doing brilliant job. One of the best road construction job in the country IMO. Ameachi is a good man.. . . .PH is becoming one of the best place in naija.
That's what I hear and it is indeed good news. I haven't been in PH since January so I look forward to seeing these developments next time I visit. Kudos to Amaechi.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Big For Nothing? by Bawss1(m): 11:20am On Apr 06, 2012
As long as any foreign article doesn't shower praise on Nigeria and its citizens then it must be propaganda and its author must be a "slave journalist". Heaven forbid that any such article raise issues that should lead us as a nation to moments of introspection. We must not let these foreigners corrupt us with blunt description of present realities;they are after our oil, besides, our delusions of our self importance and misplaced priorities is enough for us. After all there is nothing wrong with our great country let us continue on our present path and shun any opportunity to reform ourselves in areas that really matter.

People need to change their attitudes in this country, this us-against-the-world outlook is played out and stale.

angelz: l wish l can hear from ur wife b4 l draw my conclusion.
u said she pack out of d house, r u sure u didnt ask her 2 leave?
. . .
davidylan: pele mr Jay, Sh..t happens sometimes.
This was your fault right from day 1, i cant imagine going to bed with my wife in someone else's house even if i were so mad at her. At least beg her home first then both of you can vex for each other in the 4 corners of your bedroom.
chaircover: Actually it is ego and pride on both sides;

You for not bringing your whole family back the moment you realised that she had packed out and her for even staying that long away from her matrimonal home.
How was the OP supposed to have brought back home an unwilling adult woman - by a presidential order or should he have used a lasso?

As it's the norm on Nairaland, the OP is being held responsible for his wife being touched (whatever that means) by another man. sad Somethings will never change.

I just did a recheck and yeah there are more cities than the three I listed earlier, like Calabar and Enugu. Still I wonder why Abuja isn't listed. undecided

It is rather disappointing that the weather app on the iPhone does not have any weather report for Abuja the capital of Nigeria. The only cities in Nigeria that the app has reports for are Kano, Port Harcourt and Lagos.

4llerbuntu: hmmn quite amusing.

so because its set in niger delta u find it distasteful?
what about all those other ones you have played set in china, russia, other places? u enjoyed those ones and did not stop to think that maybe they were not representative of those societies?
lemme guess, ur from niger delta hunh?

abeg, whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. the same way u have enjoyed shooting mindless gooks and russkies and japs, u should also enjoy shooting the boyloafs and ateke toms.

Hypocrisy at its best
Will certainly get a kick doing the bolded. Blast those touts to smithereens. grin

Oyb didn't exactly give away details of how the game ended, so it's OK if he didn't indicate spoiler alert.

Meanwhile the people campaigning for Bioware to remake the ending of ME3 are wasting their time, Bioware appears set in its ways. grin

GamingRe: Ghost Recon Future Soldier: Not Buying by Bawss1(m): 9:12pm On Apr 01, 2012
I don't think setting a game in the Niger Delta with all the violence that the region is infamous for would keep me from buying or playing it as long as it has a decent storyline. Many other games have used known places in their stories too so I guess most gamers have since been 'desensitised' to this.

Still I think I can understand the concern the OP has in this regard. Certain gamers might find such a setting distasteful just as I did find 'No Russian' in MW2 offensive and never completed that stage. Another thing that some gamers may frown upon is using a current war or an on-going conflict in a game.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Brand New Nairaland Theme by Bawss1(m): 11:11am On Apr 01, 2012
Imagine Facebook doing away with its traditional blue and white theme or google without its brilliant white look.
There should be a certain sense of consistency on Nairaland, this new look is rather distasteful and does nothing to strengthen the image users have of this site.

rafhell: “In terms of security challenges, we have some parts of the country where we have terrorist attacks, but it does not affect the whole country. We are in reasonable control. We have the belief that in the middle of this year; in terms of security of individuals, we will have full control. The danger is limited to some parts of the country. It does not extend to other parts of country,” he further said.
Can Mr president honestly look himself in the mirror and believe that his government is in reasonable control of the terrorism that currently plagues Nigeria? If so one would hate to see what unreasonable control would look like.

WebmastersRe: Jimmy Wales Wiki co-founder : 'Broadband Speed In Nigeria,Beats NY City' by Bawss1(m): 2:07pm On Mar 28, 2012
Where exactly did Mr. Wales conduct his speed test? If it was in the premises of an ISP then that is quite believable – or maybe an ISP provided internet connection for the conference. Getting that amazing bandwidth successfully to the last mile is a whole different story, one that many frustrated internet users, like yours truly, are tired of retelling.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News:shots Fired Near Abuja US Embassy by Bawss1(m): 6:04pm On Mar 26, 2012
Danka7777: We know this type of gimmick. This is a precursor to the invasion of Nigeria. The pretext would be: to protect American Citizens on ground! Nigerians shine your eyes, these people don't give a damn about black people. Anything they do is for media gains and their own selfish global interests. If they really do care about Nigerians and blacks as they claim to, they say charity begins at home right, let them start from the blacks in America who have lived under absolute subjugation in America for the past almost 400 yrs, since 1620.
Where do you people pick up this kind of damaged reasoning?
