FamilyRe: Which Do I Choose; Marriage Or Job? by Bawss1(m): 2:31pm On Jun 04, 2012
What kind of person is the fiancee? Was he asleep when she was job hunting? Now the lady has gotten a job he wants her to quit if they are to get married? I suspect, but could be completely wrong, its this kind of person that see's a wife not as an equal with aspirations and ambitions too but just as a glorified house keeper.

bright007: Instead of helping who?dead victims?
How about helping to put out the fire. Just because there were no announced survivors doesn't mean that nothing should be done.

enitan2002: A plane at that point is flying less than 230knots, and its about 3,500ft......do the maths, what could have happened for a whole passengers in the aircraft to have perished.
What math? Your figures are off, 3,500 ft or 30,000 ft (which is the norm for such flights)

Anyways tragedies happen and they are not always as a result of enemy action. Suggesting that this is a work of terror at this point is unwise. Let's wait till all the facts are available.

FamilyRe: Digital Afterlife: What Happens To Your Online Accounts When You Die? by Bawss1(m): 12:41am On Jun 02, 2012
I don't want anyone looking at my digital accounts when I'm gone. It should be left to die with me.

This is just another form of not letting go which unfortunately many people are guilty of. Holding on to a deceased persons property whether real or virtual for the purpose of solace is, when properly considered, unhealthy. The death of a loved one, however painful, should be seen as the closing of a cycle. That cycle should be allowed to close completely if any progress is to be achieved.

Apparently the author knows nothing about a monarchy or this is a very tired attempt at being satirical.
BusinessRe: Customers To Provide National Identity Number At Banks by Bawss1(m): 9:11am On Jun 01, 2012
dasparrow: I just hope all banks have a secure database system because I will hate to think of what will happen if sensitive information such as people's national identity number should get into the hands of the wrong people. Its Nigeria we are talking about here where orderliness and accountability are still decades away. If identity theft should occur, how are the banks going to compensate the customer or solve the problem? I ask because unless one is a "big man pickin" or "big man", you will most likely be told each day to come back today, come back tomorrow. Anyways, let's see how it all goes.
You hope banks have a secure database yet you entrust them to keep you money and that of thousands of others safe. Pray tell, what have they been using to run their businesses till now?
PoliticsRe: Wole Soyinka Opposes UNILAG/MAU Renaming by Bawss1(m): 2:14pm On May 31, 2012
ige101: my dear soyinka cannot express ur position on d issue,if u say he did, then u ave no words of ur own an as such not fit to b a man
i only like an aspect of soyinka stand on this and its where he talked of renaming university of ife
if i may ask,is o a u not a brand name today?
May i also ask if the renaming of unilag is going to bring down the academic standard there? If not, there is no need crying.let d name change stay, and over time we wil get use to it
You want to haggle over semantics huh? Point is my position is in line with Soyinka's views. Get it?

ballabriggs: My Oga, you do realise this is a violation of the Economists intellectual property rights? The Economist operates a subscription policy for their articles and it is inappropriate that you share such with that yob ranting all over this thread. Please take it down.
The Economist offers registered readers access to 10 free articles per week. Besides many of their articles are available via Facebook so any talk of copyright violation here is baseless.

Besides how else are claims to be backed up or verified if one isn't supposed to link to articles?

I watch cartoons too but not Scooby Doo or Ben 10. I prefer Chowder, The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy. Also enjoy watching animes like Naruto. I don't think this is awkward at all,my generation grew up watching cartoons and have taken this habit into adulthood. Anyone who doesn't like it should deal with it.

Technology MarketRe: How To Use A BIS Plan On An Android Phone by Bawss1(m): 7:20pm On May 22, 2012
faithin9ja: Personally I never criticize innovation, afterall necessity is the mother of invention, but we must call a spade a spade. By using BIS bandwidth, we are using RIM servers, RIM service is cheaper essentially because of the technology they deploy. All over the world as far as I am aware BB is has cheaper data plans than the normal 3G plans used on other phones.

But those using this 'work-around' must admit they are trying to beat a system and cut corners for personal gain. How does this make us better than any of our politicians. With this type of mindset when we too get any type of position or power, we will continue to cut corners.

I comment on this forum on political matters and I have been accused of being a GEJ or PDP apologist, when actually what I am saying is Nigeria deserves the leaders we get, when we the populace are all individually corrupt (I include myself). The sooner we realize this the better for all of us.
Jailbreaking and modding are not in any way similar to politicians who steal money from public coffers. While Jailbreaking is frowned upon by some manufacturers because it allows users to run unsigned code or make use of a device in ways different from what the manufacturer intended it is not illegal. If it were so then people who custom build cars are criminals. There is no legislation that is against people using a device they legally own as they deem fit. Thieving politicians are, on the other hand, helping themselves to funds that isn't their's for use that is outside their mandate. Lumping these two different activities under the banner of corruption is an indication that you misunderstand these issues thoroughly.
FashionRe: Man's Biggest Neccessary Evil In Corporate Fashion... by Bawss1(m): 5:33pm On May 22, 2012
I am not required to wear a tie because of work but whenever I get the chance to do so I jump at it. A tie adds a certain elegance to a man's appearance. However no self respecting man should be seen with a short tie: those things are an abomination.
