OSAMA: Service Chiefs in 9hrs security meeting On May 4, 2011 · · In News , By KINGSLEY OMONOBI Strong intelligence reports showing that plans by groups of persons who are dissatisfied by the outcome of the 2011 presidential elections which produced President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan following the jettisoning of the PDP zoning formula are planning to ride under the canopy of the killing of Al-Qaida leader, Osama Bin Laden to cause crises in the country, was the topic of a 9-hour security meeting head in Abuja yesterday between the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petirin and the Service Chiefs. Present at the meeting which began by 9. 30 am at the Naval headquarters, and continued until 5pm, were the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Onyeabo Azubuike Ihejirika, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ola Saad Ibrahim, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Mohammed Dikko Umar, Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Babagana Mongunu, Director of Military Intelligence, Major General SY Audu, Director of Naval Intelligence, Commodore Oyediran and the Director of Air Intelligence, Air Commodore Truman. Before the commencement of the security meeting, Vanguard gathered that intelligence reports had shown that states like Kaduna, Kano, Borno, Bauchi and Sokoto as well as the federal capital territory, were the target to unleash crises and attacks that would take place before, during or after the Moslem prayers on Friday 6th, May 2011 from the Mosques and on Sunday May 8th, 2011 from the churches. According to sources, the calculation of those behind the plot is that after the mosque prayers of Friday, attacks would be launched on unsuspecting citizens and destruction of properties would go on simultaneously in a manner that would show that Moslems are unhappy with Bin Laden’s death in the hands of a predominantly Christian nation. On Sunday 8th, the group will shift attention to the churches, particularly in the North and attack Christians in churches to give the impression of a holy reprisal. The goal is to provoke counter attacks from Christians from other parts of the country and eventual cause chaos in the polity. The security meeting it was gathered, has therefore ordered a round the clock monitoring and vigilance by General Officers Commanding, Corps Commanders, Brigade Commanders and Battalion Commanders and their equivalent across the country to ensure that these plots did not see the light of the day. A security source who confirmed the development to Vanguard in Abuja, noted that said, “Yes, what they could not do during the election, since we took pro-active measures, they want to hide under the canopy of the killing of Bin Laden to achieve. But we are on top of the situation. Security agencies are on the ground this time around”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/05/osama-service-chiefs-in-9hrs-security-meeting/ |
jensinmi:We need to get over this fear of equality for our women folk. Its even worse when it is realised that the unfortunate attitude Nigerian males have toward women came with the missioneries on their boats and trans-Saharan caravans. Before these foreigners came, society was much more balanced. Our history is sprinkled with very powerful women like Queen Idia of Benin, Queen Amina of Zauzau; in my own neck of the woods, Uroho. Women form a full half of society and are every bit as capable as men, to ignore them is to enslave half our population. Aside from the backwardness and wickedness on the part of the perpetrators, the negative effects on society and general development are exponential. We need to go back to our roots and recognise the strength of our women, they are our nuturers and the mothers of the country. Give a woman a chance and you have given a breadth of life to many. |

CPC in Rowdy Session, Members Vent Anger on Leadership By Onyebuchi Ezigbo 04 May 2011 The National Consultative Forum meeting of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Tuesday degenerated into hot exchange of words with many members in attendance expressing their disappointment over the performance of the party at the general election. THISDAY gathered that a good number of the party members fell short of asking for a pound of flesh from the leadership for failing to guide the party to a good showing at the election. At the Nugget Hotel, Abuja venue of the meeting, many of the party leaders from across the country called the national leadership of the party to question, blaming them for the party’s shoddy performance at the elections. The meeting, which was called ostensibly to receive reports of various committees involved in the prosecution of the elections, later turned into an arena for “blame-game”, with the members engaging the leadership in exchange of words on issues bordering on the polls. As part of the meeting’s agenda, the forum was to deliberate on the reports of the election monitoring committee and that of the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC). Among those who were present at the meeting were the party’s National Chairman, Prince Tony Momoh; the Deputy National Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Salihu; CPC’s governor-elect for Nasarawa State, Alhaji Alma-Kura; National Secretary, Alhaji Buba Galadima; and the DG of the Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Sule Haman. Although the national leader and the presidential candidate of the party, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari was listed to attend the meeting, he had not arrived as at 5.30pm when the meeting broke-up for an interactive session. The atmosphere at the gathering was highly charged and many of the members were heard voicing their anger and frustration at the turn of events. The situation was so tense that the campaign DG was not allowed to speak as he was literally shouted down when he stood up to present his report. An insider and a top member of the party at the meeting told THISDAY that the DG was forced to leave the venue before calm could return. However, in the midst of the growing agitations among the members, the party’s National Chairman, Momoh, while addressing the gathering, re-affirmed the decision of the party to challenge the result of the presidential election in court. Momoh, who tried to re-assure the disillusioned party members that hopes were not lost, said the party leadership was still reviewing the entire election and would at the appropriate time present its case in court. He urged supporters of the party not to give up hope, but to continue to work for progressive change in Nigeria under the CPC structure. The CPC presidential candidate, Buhari, was defeated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, who polled 22,395,187 votes as against Buhari’s 12,214,853. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/cpc-in-rowdy-session-members-vent-anger-on-leadership/90754/ |
They have done us proud indeed. Very encouraging, we need to begin gathering the names of Nigerians at the cutting edge of science and technology to use as role models for the youth. |
SMH. Are all these toxic arguments, the roadmap to the so-called "One Southern Nigeria"? . Very interesting roadmap indeed.
It is pertinent to have such spats. We all rejoice that the core-North's death grip on us has been loosened, but we will not replace it with a similar fascist personality cult. Let those who willingly follow a bigoted criminal understand that others do not buy into their bigotry and they are only living in a psychadelic World of magic mushrooms. If there is ever to be a united South, it must be built on the likes of Chime, Amaechi, Akpabio and Fashola; not on abominable criminals like Tinubu. |

Sadly, there aren't as many entertaining pictures about him. You'd think there'd be pictures of him skiing in that indoor ski resort in Dubai, right? Media hasn't done a good enough job finding entertaining pictures. Can you imagine, a man stealing $3 billion+ from his own people? Robbing his own people blind? I guess you are on the look out for more "supreme dear leaders!" LOL!!! Why don't you write petitions to jail your facist dear leader who is robbing Lagos off 2billion monthly? Eko Ile:Do you think anyone gives a damn what a twisted oaf like you thinks? Lol! You remind me of a smelly worm, something with such a deep inferiority complex, whose sorroundings are so putrid that it needs the fetid stench of rank ethnic bigotry to "belong." There is no space for jumped up drug barons and facists like Tinubu (or any other wannabe parasite) in our section of the country; those who used his party as a ladder to power will all come back home. Tinubu is pathetic and puny compared to the core-North. ![]() |
The SS and SE simply reject any sectional etnically bigoted party led by a drug baron. The movement has begun to call our people home, all those who used ACN as a ladder to office will find their way into decent parties without a sectional/ethnic outlook. There are APGA, DPP, LP, PDP etc. This is a time of building, healing and restitution. The real goal of the leaders of such parties is to be next to oil which both SE/SS are pregnant with, they dream vainly of replacing the Hausa-Fulani who foisted basta'rds the likes of Ibori on us; animals that don't care about the suffering and pollution they bring. Hausa-Fulani have been thrown off, so why should we accept facists like Tinubu in their place? It might be painful to bigots, but thats what bigoted politics brings. Let Tinubu stick to defrauding Lagos off 2billion per month, frustrating Fashola and driving the state into dept; we reject leprosy. |
^ Meanwhile the Barhain you hate has been given one more month to make up their minds after the deadline passed. |
assme: Guy, you de vex o!!! ![]() |
Eziachi:Words of wisdom. Get well soon. What were you doing? E get di age pesin go reach wen e go know say all those bicycle kick no de possible again o! ![]() |
seanet02:Lol. This seanet guy sha, you know you are my brother na. ![]() . . .Igbo's don't suck. You need to stop saying that. |
^ Much appreciated. ![]() banom:Thanks man! And congrats too on your succesful campaign. It was a great victory, the country deserves it. Fresh Air!!! |
Crude Oil:He is simply playing to the gallery. His game is to make politics a "them and us" game so that he can always have a captive group to milk. If other groups take his word seriously and ask for a vote at the NASS, he will be sure to back out. A couple of weeks ago Oshiomole asked for more money from the federal purse and just a couple of days ago, Fashola did the same. The actions of the two senior party members do not bear Tinubu's words out, in fact they go in a directly opposite direction. |
texazzpete:Lol. I never knew NL had a headmaster! Have you ever wondered why there isn't the same vitriol against Ribadu, Shekarau, Tinubu etc? Could it be that none ran the sort of blood cuddling campaign Buhari did? Think. Blood is no longer the cheap commodity it used to be, Nigeria has changed and EVERY life MUST be accounted for. The ACN youths are as Northern as Buhari, yet they blame him, so except you are from Buhari's household, you need to spare us the crocodile tears. Anyone inciting violence has no image worth protecting; in the eyes of the vast majority, Buhari already had no image anyway. |
NL is becoming a pathetic place. ![]() |
10cirenoh:Nobody will bother with who registered the kids. Is anybody bothering now? The only issue is, whose behalf they registered on, and there is overwhelming evidence that they voted CPC. There is written and video evidence, there is witness evidence and there is behavioural evidence. You know when they say the goose is cooked? Lol Buhari hasn't brought any court case, contrary to your statement above, cos he will face an incriminating legal avalanche. ![]() |
seanet02:If you weren't in a hurry to post, you would have read that I said the SW voted GEJ. My issue is with the id!ots who come on NL abusing everybody else, whereas the situation on the ground is totally different, or do you have a problem with that? When I move around in Lagos or any part of Yoruba land, I don't get any issues. But fools on NL won't allow people rest, it is the same reason I have major issues with Tinubu's bigoted politics and will strongly resist ACN anywhere in the SS as an invasion. |
seanet02:You are talking to your family. |
KnowAll:Blind greed? In the time of cocoa and rubber it was 50% derivatives, so why should anyone get less? Since oil palm has done much more for Nigeria than coa and rubber ever did, dues have been paid and its time for the oil producing areas to get 100%. Other areas have all sorts of resources, from huge deposits of gold to uranium etc, its a country richly blessed but with a history of id!ot rulers. What can be done is the oil producing areas provide loans and subsidies for the development of these resourses and everybody enjoys their 100% as well. Nigeria just has to stop petching on one section. |
ayinba1:Those numerous id's only existed in you peoples heads. Such things happen to weak minded people. I wonder why you are addressing the topic like I am one of the Bauchi state ACN youth?. . . . Err, I forgot, weak mind! If there is need to arrest Buhari, he will be picked up and you noise makers will only watch like you are watching TV. |
^ Oil palm did more for Nigeria and for much longer than cocoa and groundnuts, in fact Nigeria owes its existence 100% to oil palm. If any state cannot produce money, it doesn't deserve to exist and nobody will subsidise it. Every state should get 100% of what they produce and only pay taxes to the FG, then that can be shared according to need. |
Stop following me around like a shameless groupie. I am not interested in unrequited love/attention. You are only demonstrating how folks racked with inferiority complex live their lives entirely in the shadow of those they feel inferior to . You are not even ashamed , while I ignore you, to constantly react to what I write with childish vitriol always incongruous with the main topic under discussion. If I hint that "we know who they are" why are you bothered? Did I mention you? You are , mentally, a child and an intellectual lightweight who needs to learn philosophical balance.Be assured that the only thing I have for all ethnic bigots is absolute contempt, especially the cowardly ones like yourself who cannot even name names. Why not mention who is suffering from "our son" syndrome? Coward. |
KnowAll:That is not true federalism, but a sham. What we need is for each state to produce its own money and pay taxes to the centre. It is unfair on the ND to suggest that they continue to subsidise states that produce absolutely nothing; maybe even states that do not even encourage kids to go to school, but are always at the forefront of murderous riots. Should govt continue paying them to breed and riot? |
