. . .Just to help them.

This thread is against all those who think Nigerians should be divided into "home-based" and "diasporic / diasporan". WE ARE ALL NIGERIANS.
It is against those who think that Nigerians abroad are sub-Nigerian and have no right to comment or take sides in Nigerian issues.

what did dbanj do again?
Maybe you are forgetting Fela. . .

Fela is another one of us that was very true to his identity, but became very well known in the West. In fact it is easy to see that, no fake fool has ever become popular outside our shores.

Tribal bashing is part and parcel of Nairaland, it wont stop today nor very soon.
Its the reality of Nigeria life, more than 80% of Nigerians are tribalist.

In other international forum, ethnic / race bashing goes on. Learn to live with it.

If somebody bash your tribe, bash his tribe or bash any other tribe that suit your ego; otherwise log off.
Please what is your ethnic group? I want to bash it. grin

You can sort of work it out from here http://media.transparency.org/imaps/cpi2009/

Nigeria is bad (our index is 3.0 - 3.9). But how can the US be in the 9.0 - 10 group (with global economic meltdown, various "madoff's" etc shocked)?

The list is rubbish!

Your comments should be directed to Diokpa who opened the thread, I am responding
locus in quo. I do not visit the tribalism section. It would not have come to my attention.
I agree that posters should use the appropriate sections. It is better.
Ok.
In the past, all tribalistic posts used to end up in the racism and tribalism section (I don't know what is going on these days). I personally believe that isn't enough; good folk like mekuslogan (alias mekusxxx), *jona, *comfort etc, should have their logins restricted to the racism and tribalism section.

As I said before this is simply an opinion and, as far as I can see you are not shy to dispense with your opinions either. U either agree, disagree or stand aside.
I never stand aside. I am forthright with my opinions, I'm no "grazer".

It is wrong to start a thread with derogatory terms and sweeping statements on your fellow forum users.
If you feel strongly enough about someones behaviour, the right thing to do is tackle them there and then, it isn't opening an oblique thread.
Keep away from sweeping statements.

Or is it because I put down your cowardly attempt to stab in the dark?

@ Ezeagu,

With all due respect, we have to live with it. That is the price we have to pay for democracy.
I do not need to further spoil your day by referring to the rabid , fire spitting, tribal bigots
or those who hate one religion or the other with a passion; or those who insult our sensibilities by
flinging Biafra and the civil war in our faces as if the war is on going. As far as they are concerned
the war is still on. They hate our country with a passion but they cannot form a quorum to even discuss
their departure and have never given suggestions on what the solution should be. We have even asked for
the location of their wailing wall so that we can join them on a regular basis if that is a solution. No response
They continue with this victim/persecution complex.

Infact I have the feeeling that foreigners visiting Nairaland come here to amuse themselves.
You ain't making much sense. There is a racism and tribalism section where you can trash out the "tribalistic" issues you raising.

My dear, that is not my purpose. All I am telling you is that what you are doing is a mistake and not very wise.

Avoid derogatory language, unless it is necessary. The words below are all yours (some are very ill-advised):

1) The Ostriches
a) Ethnicists
b) Faithfuls
c) The fanatics
d) Elites
2) The Ignorants
3) The realists
4) The Grazers
5) The Idiots - The fuddyduddies

I concluded that I'm grazer because I hardly contribute, that to me means I really am a siddon look nairalander if you can't prove otherwise I remain a grazer.
I am not trying to prove anything (you are currently supplying the proofs one way or the other).
It really is simple, if you contribute more, we would know where you really stand. Among those who make few contributions are wise people, intelligent people, fools, idiots etc. So why should those terms apply only to those who contribute to NL?

Judge yourself. Would you fall into any of these groups?

The Idiots - The fuddyduddies who provide even greater comedy than the Ignorants.
or
The fanatics - very similar to the ethnicists, every thread degenerates into a religious fisticuff. A lot of these people I personally find irritating
or
The Ignorants - These people provide the comedy I alluded to ealier, some of them believe that grammar equals intelligence and when backed to corner will resort to insults. All most all the time everything to them is either black or white, you'll have a hard time having a sensible conversation with them and for this group common sense is not common

Cool down now, are we hurling insults already?
You come across as conceited and big headed. The all knowing type, without any contribution to show, yet all mouth.
When someone who doesn't contribute two pence decides that they have become the judge of who is the most ignorant, that person is causing problems for themselves.
