Romance / Re: Advantages Of Polygamy? by bebe2007(m): 1:53pm On Jan 22, 2008
Funny comments so far i must say. I am a product of Polygamy. I will not stand upright and say kuddos to polygamy but it must be noted that we products of polygamy are not dysfunctional in anyway. We are as confident, focused and as intelligent as the next kid from a monogamous union. They do not show any up hand in anyway as far as i am concerned. I will say one of the advantages to me is my ability to mix up very well with people from different backgrounds. I am highly competative (in a good way), in a polygamous home you have got to be.

There are a lot of challenges too, all in all it should not be encouraged. The husbands always die first before their wives, the pressure is always too much. Its the quickest way to a man's grave i tell you. The kids are not really affected, thats if they are well taken care of but the wives and husband, are ususally emotionally disturbed or unhappy. I would not encourage polygamy.

Thats my philosophy for this year o!!! working on my faith, it will surely move mountains amen.

@poster,

So sorry for your pain. I can only imagine. Do yourself a big deal and work on your self esteem. I completely understand that when such happens we ladies completely loose it. Try to pump it up again ok. There must be some other guy that likes you, make yourself available and pretty, go on friendly dates with them, by the time your Goat for a boyfriend (excuse the name calling) realises that other men are interested in you he would sit up. If i were you i would break up with him though. Men are not hard to find. Never believe that rubbish. Am in my thirty's and i do not lack male company in anyway, I guess you are definately younger, so whats the biggy? if they still find old woman like me sexy and all, there is nothing stopping them from liking you ok. Cry if that will make you get over him, He has to go sweet heart ok.

On second thought, i have been in Lukka's shoes too (the other woman) grin grin sometimes its fun, its just a game, you flirt and thats it, she really might not want to take your man, just playing with his stupid head. At least that was my own intention back then.

Nice tips. Well configured, but i think the Nigerian experience demand a much better rules for this-engagement. With due respect to our wonderful Nigerian ladies, i think breaking up with them takes a lot more than was expatiated above.

I do not think Naija gals are that hard to break up with o!!! go try Liberian babes first, then you go know how far. If anything i feel Naija babes are better off o! cuz we have got pride. Nobody wants to be seen as weak here, beign a tough babe is a plus.
Romance / Re: Why Won't You Marry Him/her by bebe2007(m): 3:44pm On Jan 16, 2008
I would not want to marry a man with bad diction, a man who is not refined, already set in his myopic ways of life and most especially a man with very protuding abdomen, a man without a University degree. But as was said earlier, NEVER SAY NEVER HE MIGHT JUST BE THE GOD CHOSEN ONE FOR ME. Who am i to argue?
Romance / Re: Kissed In Public? by bebe2007(m): 2:35pm On Jan 15, 2008
In all my years of dating naija guys, only found one who did practice public show of affection. I think its actually very romantic!!!!!! i enjoy it. I think we do not do it here cuz of our upbringing, he has never lived abroad its just him,his style.Would advise Naija men to be more romantic, it pays.

Romance / Re: Why Do Girls Think That Bankers Are Flirts? by bebe2007(m): 4:15pm On Jan 09, 2008
fabiyi:

Bebe2007,

I can see that you are taken this matter too personal that was why you shot me that I compared a banker with a lawyer in my previous post about, who a banker is?

I just want you to know that every profession has it own perculiarity and was being designed for a defined purpose. For you to have said that law is only noble profession and I should not compare banking/finance with law, I see it as an unnecessary Ego-Boasting which is 'altra vires abinitios" null and void without any locus standi

One thing you should note is that Nairaland is designed by Seun purposely for people to interracts and share experiences with one another. So, issue should not be taken personal here and we should always be mindful of our utterances as people across the globe are reading our writes-up.

So my sister, don't be annoyed if I have ever offended you for citing a reference in my previous post by comparing the requirements for qualifying people into law profession and banking/finance profession with each other.

Once again, i am sorry. I did not mean any harm before you sue me to law court.

Best regards!!!!

grin grin wat can i say. On a more serious note, why are some pple saying am taking it very personal? i really do not think so. I only shared my opinion on the issue, didnt realise it was that strong. Sorry guys no harm intended. Some of my very good friends are bankers so i cannnot possibly hate them. Bankers should just keep it cool thats all.

Career / Re: Working In A Bank Is Better Than Working In An Oil Company - Fact Or Fiction? by bebe2007(m): 2:28am On Dec 25, 2007
Good analysis there. Am not an IT person , lets say from a layman's point of view in this case, he should pick Shell. You cannot compare both. For me, work environment matters alot. You would get the best in shell as oppossed to Gtb.
Romance / Re: Why Do Girls Think That Bankers Are Flirts? by bebe2007(m): 2:01am On Dec 25, 2007
To be honest i did not read this post before posting mine in the careers forum. I hate this topic but i just have to comment. Why in God's name do Bankers think they are special i would really like you bankers in the house to answer the question. A lot of you got into the banking industry cuz you could not get jobs in other industries or fields, so why are you guys acting like God' gift to humanity when you happened to be there for the money only.someone in the house tried differentiating bank staff from bankers. My question is this; who cares the person even likened them to lawyers. Please for your own good, never make that mistake again. The legal profession is about the only noble profession in the country today, when you try to liken us with bankers, you insult the profession, so please liken yourselves with traders in idumota (lol) You might make more money now and all that but remember, money is not everything.

Most of the nairalanders who live abroad have expressed their surprise to such behaviours by bankers. Its only the Nigerian Banking industry that is different. people who live abroad are not used to such nonsense. Bankers are conservative, hardworking people over there, most times faceless cuz people go to the banks for business and thats it. But here in naija, they call it banking but we all know that they have not really started the real deal, they have time to toast or admire females when they walk into a branch. check out the way they dress to work, its all too much, whats the occassion peeps. Whats with all the flambouyance!!!!

If you know you are not going to sleep with him, don't bother going for the day's trip. Do not let him waste his money. Thats how guys see it o! we ladies see it as money well spent if we just hang out, have some laffs etc but the boys do not accord much to such , they have to go all the way to appreciate the money spent. Save yourself the hassle o! nor let them rape you.

Romance / Re: Discuss: Prostitution Comes In Different Forms, Shapes And Measures by bebe2007(m): 12:29pm On Nov 30, 2007
True i agree. There are various forms.

Boys who sleep or date girls strictly for money are prostitutes
Girls who date men for money
Boys who sleep around for fun i.e the so called players
Girls who have multiple partners all for fun
Student who sugar, Aristo
Guys and Babes who arrange such moves (Aristo for the girls) Pimps
Married men who have mistresses
Married women with boyfriends
Our dear socialites, they attend the best parties, have the best click of well connected people (they are known everywhere in town but what they do for a living no one knows exactly)
Romance / Re: Nigerian Girls And Tying The Knot by bebe2007(m): 12:14pm On Nov 30, 2007
@ poster

Your post is so true. I do not understand the rush myself, its like a fashion statement now in naija to say you are planning your wedding or that you are married. Even when the husband can not feed his family. Young immature babes and guys hooking up like crazy. There are so many bad marriages around today. A sleeping with B, B with C<grin<E<F. Before the guy comes to ask the girl out, she is already planning the reception venue, colors, time etc. I would advise they slow down haba!!!! My friend's marriage lasted for 4months. that was a wedding that i remember they gave the caterer 1m for food only. What a waste!!!! Marriage is for a life time why rush into it? Thank God i do not have a younger sister, no pressure from any angle. I believe its best to wait for God's time not Man's time (30-35 too late)
Romance / Re: Nigerian Girls And Tying The Knot by bebe2007(m): 11:59am On Nov 30, 2007
I don't think i fall into that category of naija gals. Marriage is not on top of my list of priorities o!!! i would love to be married definately but nor be by fire or by force now!!! I nor fit suffer o! i need to take my time and arrange myself, financially, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, Socially, even physically sef. its a very big commitment and unfortunatley divorce would not be an option cuz am a catholic. So good luck to you ladies that want it by fire, by force!!! make una marry remain for us o! we dey come for back.
Romance / Re: hh by bebe2007(m): 11:46am On Nov 30, 2007
@poster,

My paddy, kpele o! they want to crucify you. I get what you mean though, but you phrased it wrongly. There are some independent Naija women but majority are dependent on men for most things. We would all speak for ourselves. I blame our economy, culture, government and the upbringing of these girls for this trend. A good example are our female Uni students. When they are on hols, majority of them jump from one party to the other, one man to the next etc most of their counterparts abroad are busy working (holiday jobs) so they can earn some money and buy stuff for school, No, naija gal will rather sleep with 15 guys to come out with the best baffs for the next semester.

Where they decide to work, who offers them employment? when all the employers are after a certificate or the other e.g i have a friend who works as a sales gal in a shop. A graduate!!!! that job is meant for an undergraduate if you ask me. Visit most of the high street shops in london, Us students are there working for their pay.

Why cant Mr.Biggs offer students employment and pay them well? they pay crap money that will not be enough for 2 tops. the banks are not better off, they pay N20-25k what will that do this day and age?

These gals have no choice but ask men for money, Our government will do absolutely nothing about it cuz they benefit from it all. if they do who would attend all the PDP, AC, Presidential parties that they organise in their guest houses eh Who will atten the shell/mobil big boys bachelor's eve?

For the working class ones who still sugar, i would say charity begins at home. They were doing it from school, hence it has eaten into their system, they cannot and will not stop it.

@cybersleek

You make alot of sense!!! i like you! i dey always carry my vex money o!!!(Vex money is extra cash women keep with them when a guy invites them out. It may be in their pocket, shoe, bag anywhere just incase, so they do not get stranded)
Romance / Re: What Are A Lady's Funny Moves? by bebe2007(m): 11:11am On Nov 30, 2007

Career / Re: Do You Hate Your Job? by bebe2007(m): 2:10pm On Nov 29, 2007
Like the saying goes "in all things give thanks to God" I thank God i am employed and i hope in His mighty name he moves me up the ladder. I wake up, go to work practically do nothing and i get paid at the end of the month. TALK ABOUT BEING REDUNDANT AT AN EARLY AGE. The pay is not much but am happy to receive it o!! how man for do in this die hard Lagos. I think i hate this town more than the job itself. God, i need your Help.

Besides there are guys who trip for this shakara and all the arrogant attitude likewise babes who trip for arrogant guys. People like different things.
Romance / Re: Most Annoying Things Women Do by bebe2007(m): 10:30am On Nov 29, 2007
The "shakara" as you guys call it is simply to keep you on your toes. Men have a way of taking women for granted once they know the woman is so into them. I remember an Ex boyfriend asking me once "haba! am i still toasting you or what" grin grin the shakara nor get part 2. Am not his mama so there are certain things you cannot get away with. Na so i see am o!!!
