Ifeoma77:

Use WES and evaluate your LLM only.
If you still have age on your side, forget about ECA for your husband, let him only write IELTS to add some points. If you start ECA immediately, you should have ITA before June
that age is the issue. I'm 37 already

Check requirements for southAfrican school evaluation with Wes which I think is faster and would give you maximum point simulate your CRS scores with him doing ielts 6,6,6,6 if the points is high he may leave out his evaluation if not he may just evaluate his Bsc using ICES bearing in mind it might take up to 12weeks he can also use WES if his school can verify his cert fast enof mind u he will require WAEC for WES evaluation
thanks for the insight.

Thanks for taking your time to clarify things. Without spouse's credential evaluation, crs score will be 430. With his credential evaluation and fair ielts performance, crs would be 440. I'm 37years old already. I wish I had started this earlier.

Congrats to all those who have clinched ITA, PPR and crossed one hurdle or the other.

I just started following this thread mid-January, when I made the decision to leave this country.

I have crossed the ielts hurdle. MOD LSWR- 8.5,8,7.5,9
I want to start the ECA process. I have LL.B from a Nigerian university and 'LL.M from a South African university.

1. Which evaluating body would be best in terms of cost and time? Time is of the essence here as my next birthday is in September and this may affect crs score.
2. What steps do I need to take, from my end, to start the evaluation process?

My husband has Bsc (computer science) and Hnd elect/elect both are from Nigerian schools. Which evaluating body would be best for him? Also, i can see people talking about WAEC verification.

I would be the PA. Elders in the house, I need your guidance.

As an accountant, I find it ridiculous that you refer to your total revenue as profit.
You can't make 300k with that forecast because you will deduct salaries, procurements, utilities, depreciation and so on. Please correct that statement because the day care doesn't run on water
Thank you. He was also talking about having up to 50kids. Where would he keep them? He would need more space and more staff which would inceease cost.

A 43 yr-old man can't be single single at that age. You're either married with kids , or divorced with a kid or two at that age.

My elder sister loved behind the clouds back then. She was in her teens. I can still remember the character "Nosa"

Please can anyone help with link on how to apply for ielts through MOD, I want to shift base from BC.
Your prompt response will be appreciated.
If you're in Lagos and you have some time to spare on a weekday, go to their office in Ogudu with your international passport and Atm debit card (there's POS). You would do the registration right there and then. That's how I did mine.

Decision to write ielts - January 2019 (Never gave a thought to leaving Nigeria before this time).

Registered with mod (with my big belly- pregnant) on 12th Jan. Wrote Ielts on 9th Feb. Just checked result now:
Listening 8.5
Reading 9.0
Writing 7.5
Speaking 8.0

Overall: 8.5
Ps. The speaking test was the most challenging. I still can't believe I passed it.

Hello people. Has anyone written IELTS in Ogudu recently. Please, how is their listening organised? Speaker or headset? (I need to know so I can simulate for either or both)

Is the environment organised and calm?
I wrote with mod on 9th Feb. The only test conducted in Ogudu is the speaking test. Others are conducted in designated test centres. For the listening you would be given a headset.

Yes my centre (Greenville school) was calm. I'm hoping for the best

Nigeria is tiresome, not sure of Nigeria's future. we want to relocate, live and work in a better clime, live better lives and give our kids the best of what we can afford.

the questions:

1. is it possible for a family of 4 to relocate out of Nigeria at once?

2. what country can we relocate to, i have Canada in mind (I heard their schools are superb) & cost of living is fair. i am open to other suggestions.

3. working in a foreign land! how possible it is (pls i m a novice in all these things wink

4. How do we go about the whole thing. What documentations do we need?, travel agents? i only know we need to get the Nigerian international passport. wink i need step by step info on what to do, i need help regarding these infos pls.

many thanks

I wasn't prepared for the 3rd part of the speaking test. That 3rd part caught me unawares as I thought there would be only 2 parts.

I arranged a new passport to be done last week for a relative and I was charged 35000.

Will you.consider that a good price?
it was 35k at first but I negotiated down to 33k

I am aware you will need National ID Card issued by NIMC. As for price I will appreciate if we get right info from those who renewed recently but before this my current one expired it cost me #21,000 but heard it's now about #30,000. It is cheaper if you can DoItYourself but don't know how long the process will take. As for the 10 year validity passport, rumour has it that the cost is about #70,000 and production will commence in June 2019.
Renewed mine this February with 2 passport photos and N33000. Did capturing on Friday, picked up passport Tuesday afternoon.

You can use WES for the LL.M alone
ok thanks
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by bellville: 7:01am On Jan 29, 2019
Please does this apply to me too? I had my masters in law from a South African university. Should I just evaluate the 'LL.M? Which of the evaluating bodies would be appropriate? Thanks
234ng44uk:

Welcome to the club. It's now obvious that UK is just another bus stop, Canada is the destination.

1,2. It's best to evaluate with WES since your masters is from the UK. Evaluate masters only and you'll get your evaluation completed within 30 days! Only highest degree is required. The delay is much longer if your include your Nigerian 1st degree, they'll even request for your ssce results, a requirement you'll skip if you use your UK masters only.

3. Statement of result is fine. The school will send the transcripts anyway. Not you.

Business / Re: What Happens To My Money If I'm Robbed In A Bank While Waiting To Deposit? by bellville: 8:34pm On Jan 20, 2019
In civil cases, the standard of proof is "proof on a balance of probabilities" not proof beyond reasonable doubt like in criminal cases.
Greatzeus:

I disagree sir,how will you prove you have a certain amount of money with you. What if everyone claims they came with N10m to deposit and it was stolen?
Unless you can prove beyond every reasonable doubt(which you won't be able to do),that you came in with such amount of money kiss your money good bye. Not everyone in the banking hall is there to deposit, how can you prove you weren't there to collect ATM card or check your balance etc?.
Every money the bank has is owned by someone(Capital) and owed to someone(Liability). When you deposit, you are owed,so they send you credit alert(creditor). When you withdraw, the money they owe you reduce,so they send you debit alert (debtor).
Your best assurance of having your money back is if it has been credited to your account,if not,it is just your words against the bank's. And believe me the bank will likely get away with it.
