This is one of the reasons why a properly funded independent federal and state policing structure should be an immediate priority to ensure the army goes back to their barracks until they are called or instructed to secure our territorial integrity not to function as an alternate to civilian policing!

In saner climes,no matter who is at fault, the army should have reported the matter to the police who would have carried out investigations and punish those who need to be punished while compensating the victim!

In naija, the military feels they can do anything including shutting down a business premise!

It's surprising that for 4 days, the IGP has not taken control of the incident!

LOVEALAIGBO:
And the bolded is why it will not happen! How else will they be able to steal peoples land and get away with murder if that happens!? There are so many solutions we all know of and have debated over and over for decades, which will not be implemented because it would disrupt the political-economy and status-quo enthroned in the late 60s and which disproportionately favours those who feel they’re ‘smart’…are ‘victors’ of the war….and that Nigeria belongs to them! Resource control is a case in point! Sensible Nigerians know resource control and a merit-driven society are two panaceas that will help galvanise and accelerate the Nigerian economy and its governance, but hell would first freeze over before certain groups allow that to happen! They will say, ’you mean we should leave control of all that juicy oyel and gas for the ‘nyamurees’ and others in the Niger-Delta!?….Mbanu!!’ shocked
After the highlighted, you would have read the part where the 36 states house of assembly speakers all agreed to state policing!
This is very important and an indication that it will not be like before where governors or assembly members with ulterior motives from northern regions will shut it down before it gets to second reading!
Politics › Re: ’40’ Shot Dead As Bandits Sack Plateau Community by bentenny(m):
The best thing that can impede this continuous and recurring deaths in plateau and other war ravaged states in the north is the meticulously written state police bill passed into law and implemented immediately!

Very elated to hear that all 36 states house of assembly speakers gave a thumbs up to state policing!

Life is now so meaningless in this country that 40 people died and it's as if nothing happened!

The most annoying part is this FG's insensitive utterances about security!
How can you say Nigeria is secure when there are still bokoharam members still incharge of some LGAs in most of the affected states like borno state?
Why would the military media officers lie that bokoharam have been defeated but everyday we keep hearing out invasion into sambisa Forrest!

Independent State policing should now be a new norm!

Politics › Re: Reno Omokri: Peter Obi Lacks Knowledge On The 3 Arms Of Government by bentenny(m): 9:15am On May 21, 2024
In the Nigerian constitution, the executive has overbearing influence over the other arms of government!

Take for instance the judiciary, who selects, appoints and sacks the CJN(Chief Judge of Nigeria)?
The executive through the presidency has that power in the constitution!

The executive also has influence on who becomes the speaker of the assembly and the Senate president!

This is common knowledge to a neutral with basic knowledge of the happenings in Nigerian politics and constitution!

Omockery knows this but as usual, most if not all his benighted and zombified followers will swallow his balderdash with no question!

It's called negotiating from a position of strength!
I still can't fathom how and why you guys cannot comprehend such logic!
Organised labour already know their target which I'm suspecting to be in the region of 150-200k!
However,if they make the mistake of using their final stand as the first line of negotiation ,FG will simply pressure them to accept below 100k!
Politics › Re: Peter Obi’s Only Chance To Presidency Is 2039 – Bwala by bentenny(m): 12:28pm On May 20, 2024

Same Bwala said Obi will not get up to 10% in the north central...he also joined Omockery to say Obi will not win his LGA let along the state!

Well just like Omockery,he knows his audience are completely brain dead hence, what ever he says will be saluted or applauded!

oyatz:
It is not about competing or not competing but SURVIVAL.

Can Nigeria import everything and anything that come to their minds? The answer is a CAPITAL NO.

This is just like a 5-year old child who accompanied his parents to a supermarket for shopping but was pointing to any item in the supermarket that caught his fancy and asking the parents to buy. The parents bought the first four items, then the father started hesitating to buy more items. Out of frustration, the boy asked his father, Daddy ,why can't we buy the remaining ones? And the father replied 'we can't just be buying everything. Then he asked the father , why can't we be buying everything? The father replied...when you grow-up, you will understand.
As much as I understood where you are trying to get to,I am finding it hard to see where it aligns with what I said or the title!

Travel › Re: Travellers Crushed To Death As Trailer Rams Into 18-Seater Bus In Abia State by bentenny(m): 8:38pm On May 16, 2024
In saner climes, the driver will be prosecuted and jailed for driving a truck with a faulty brake while the company that owns the truck will not only pay a hefty fine running into millions but they will be compelled by the court to adequately compensate the families of dead!

By the time the company is done with the total payments, they will either go bankrupt or be very meticulous in ensuring their trucks are properly checked before moving while they ensure that a professional driver from a proper selection process is recruited!

After being used as a example, others will learn from it!

Unfortunately, this will not happen in Nigeria because we have a faulty security system and a corrupt judiciary!
Hence, drivers will misbehave on our roads and go scot-free!

Politics › Re: 2nd Term Is Easier To Win For A Strong Powerful President Like Tinubu??? by bentenny(m): 1:00pm On May 16, 2024
If this is based on the current performance of the president after more than a year, then Tinubu doesn't deserve a second term!

However,if it's based on rigging to get reelected, then there is an 80% chance that he will be reelected come 2027 whether he performs or not!

Lastly,if Nigerians must get it right come 2027,there are things that should be done to ensure more transparency in our election...

1.decentralisation of policing and ensuring their independence from federal to LGAs!
2.Full autonomy for LGAs
3.Proper clarity on what will transpire if the INEC server fails or goes of during transmission and selecting of electronic means as the only mode for the transmission of results
4.Remove the power to nominate and appoint the INEC chairman and officials from the president!
5.Remove the authority of the president to appoint the CJN

Ohh Reno Omockery go cry tire!
His likes had predicted that Obi will not get a single vote in the north!

Same Reno predicted that Obi will not win his PU let alone his LGA...after the election,he acknowledged Obi as a force to reckon with in his tweets!

Now he has started again with his hilarious postulations hoping to hoodwink and deceive agbadorians to believe 2027 is on lockdown for their paymaster!

At the end,the same Reno will come back to admit that he underestimated Obi!

Anything coming out from the likes of Reno should be taken with no pinch of salt!

Tottenham never had a chance against City, so there is no surprise here. If Arsenal can keep going on the trajectory they are now, the boys will win the EPL within the next 2 years. Congrats City, better luck next time Gunners.
If arsenal do not win it this season and go trophyless once again,it will be demoralizing and frustrating for the players!
Politics › Re: 1.6m Nigerians Applied For Consumer Credit Scheme - MD by bentenny(m):
Hmmm....even an agbadorian is casting doubt over this scheme believing it was rushed!
There might be some hope left in some agbadorians!

So I saw agbadorians already hailing the scheme same way they applauded the now failed anchor borrowers scheme!

When ever one is embarking on a scheme copied from someone or country,it's important to ensure that everything is done to near perfection so that it's goal can be achieved!

Just like the student loan scheme, they should have ensured all due diligence is followed instead of resorting to patch patch or hoping to learn on the job with resources that are scarce!

I hope this won't end up being another failed scheme or a conduit pipe for politicians to loot!

I don’t only base in Rivers I am an Ijaw Riversman. All your talk here no point! Majority of Rivers are supporting Sim to make Wike useless. It’s nothing concerning APC PDP or anything you’re talking about. Wike stole all the treasures of this State and kept us impoverished. You are not a Riversman.. maybe you just live here.
Wait are you either blind or you cannot read to comprehend?

Did I mention majority of rivers people or apc supporters in my previous comments?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record to slow folks like you,my initial comments had to do with the hypocrisy of apc supporters who became emergency lovers of Wike simply because of his support for Tinubu in the last election forgetting that this same wike had previously insulted and mocked their paymaster Tinubu!

My comments had absolutely nothing to do with rivers people!

And this isn't about whether I reside in rivers state or whether I'm more ijaw,it's about your inability to comprehend a simple comment that is the problem!

Next time, try to peruse properly before reacting!
It doesn't speak well of the schools you attended...no pun intended!

These officials over the years watched land owners erecting their structures and said nothing!
