The issue of getting to location of fire incidents late has been reduced coz they opened four new firefighter offices and renovated others, the best way to get to incident location is by having the stations closer to every corner, infact I believe the best way is to have firefighter stations in every local govt, dis we r moving towards so is better u applaud or u ignore as u have contributed nothing but deluded criticism

Even with fire trucks in lga they will still not do their job - they wont fuel it, they wont refill extinguisher - nigerians are lazy and unserious yet demand lots of salary so no matter how many trucks or infrastrure you put in place, things will still be slack due to the human factor (lateness to work, unserious at work, avoidance of stress, etc).

What happened to the fire trucks they have already bought and how many fires has it put out? Just in case you do not know, this is not the first time that Lagos State is buying fire trucks. The last time I read of a fire in lagos in the news, the fire fighters arrived only after the fire had razed down the building; there is no sense of urgency in nigeria...

Similarly think of hospitals as fire trucks - there are so many hospitals in nigeria yet people die or get worse off when the come out of them instead of getting better because the people running it are lazy.

I think i know what the problem is though, you took my comment too literally - I didnt mean they shouldnt buy trucks i meant they should remedy the laziness in the people just as much as they are buying trucks.... I am the person that wasnt clear. Apologies.

I said buying of the fire truck by itself will not make the fire service run smoothly... the persons running it is the problem and has always been the problem. Nigeria has a people problem not a buildings or vehicle problem. The reason nothing works from police to hospitals is because the vast majority of Nigerians are LAZY.

Is it not in Lagos that if people call 911, the ambulance will lie they are on their way and stuck in traffic when they are not - those are the pompous people. The case of lagos ambulance is a case in point. Nigerians are a lazy set of people and they tend to run things down with their unseriousness - some call it Nigerian factor some call it maintenance culture but the underlying cause is laziness - coming late to wrk, sleeping on duty etc.

Haha when I rushed my late dad to the hospital, the doctor used a steth to confirm he was dead on arrival. I asked how he arrived at that conclusion, he said he has no pulse lol. We've seen cases where victims with no heartbeat/pulse are brought back to life through defibrillators or CPR. I begged him to at least try something. The way the doctor just dey sluggish like he was clueless made me lose hope instantly. Our health care system in nigeria is in so much decay. An emergency situation is synonymous to a death sentence. In developed countries you go see as doctors , nurses and paramedics go dey rush and run helter-skelter to attend to a victim during emergencies in A&E. For naija here dem go just dey waka and yawn like they forced them to do the job.
